This is a strictly take out place in the Rodeo 39 food court but it was a beautiful day and the outdoor seating was very nice (indoor seating was also available). Our food was ready within a few minutes. We ordered Hainan chicken with rice and Stir fried bok choy. We were a little nervous because we cannot specify dark meat vs white meat, maybe we should have asked. We had the choice of with skin and without skin. What came out was a mixture of deboned white and dark and it was all delicious. The rice was also very good. It came with chicken broth, a few slices of cucumber and three sauces. I liked the chili and scallion sauces. If you like a lot of vegetables I recommend the bok choy side order. All in all a nice experience. I have never been to Singapore but my guess is Chic Now is quite authentic to the hawker style of that island.

Had the sugar cane coconut water and hainan chicken rice with chicken broth. Loved the sauces! Chicken was well cooked and flavorful. The broth was good on its own. It's a good meal especially when recovering from a cold. Service was very fast and love that it had its own seating. Would go back!

Looked like the healthiest choice compared to other food spots at Rodeo39, so I decided to give it a try. Haven't had Hainan chicken in years, which my friend's mom used to make us, so expectations may have been too high. Overall, the price for the Hainan chicken meal (no combo) and quantity of food was reasonable. The chicken was a bit bland, as well as the broth, but the ginger scallion sauce saved the day. So yummy. Rice was good too with decent portions. I'd want this again only if I was sick or trying to eat better, but not sure if I would crave it. Give it a try! I was satisfied overall and enjoyed my meal.

I really love Hainan chicken because of the simple light flavor. Between all the food vendors in Rodeo 39, I opted for Chic Now because I wanted a sugar cane drink and thought their combo would be an excellent value. They were relatively busy but service was fast. I like to try the chicken on its own before dipping in the sauce and found that Chic Now is very mild in flavor. The chicken was perfectly tender, both with and without skin. However, the rice and chicken really needed to be paired with the sauces and broth for the best flavor. The green onion and ginger sauce was really good. I think the soy sauce had a bit of sweetness to it. I didn't try the spicy sweet sauce because it usually tends to be too sweet for me. I opted for the regular sugarcane but sized up for $1 more. It was really sweet but once the ice melted, it was better balanced.

Edit to add that this is a woman-owned business, which we love to support! One of the newer stalls at Rodeo 39 that offers a classic meal rather than the fusion/modern dishes you see at this food court. My bestie and I were looking for something that we hadn't tried yet at Rodeo 39 and decided to give this food spot a chance. We came around 11:30am on a random weekday so it wasn't busy at all. No wait, but you can order ahead of time with the QR code by the cash register if someone isn't there to immediately help you! Food came out in about 15 minutes. They had minimalistic decor with cute mural artwork of a Hainan chicken meal on the wall by their tables & chairs! What we got: -Hainan Chicken Rice (Signature & Skinless): I love the chicken skin! Comes with the chicken, rice, cucumbers, soup, and three different sauces. My favorite sauce was the ginger scallion sauce (green), followed by the sweet soy sauce. The chili sauce was used for my leftovers! The ginger scallion sauce complemented the chicken and rice very well. However, I will say that my friend and I thought that the rice was less flavorful than we expected given the price point (~$16 including tax). Thankfully the sauce gave the umami that we wanted. We enjoyed our meal otherwise! If I ever find myself back in Rodeo 39, I might get their combo meal to try their sugar cane drink!

This has been one of my favorite places at Rodeo 39. Staff are friendly and quality of food is consistently good. I usually order the Hainan Chicken w/ the skin on. It comes with the poached chicken, flavored rice, a side of chicken broth, 3 sauces & slices of cucumber . The scallion sauce is what makes this dish flavorful and is my favorite sauce of the three. I would totally recommend this to anyone that's craving a comfort meal :)

Glad that the mature Rodeo39 food hall complex is still capable of attracting new business, and a Hainan Chicken spot in this area of Orange County is just the thing for revitalization! Staff is always smiling and welcoming you to try their food which I appreciate. Ambiance is casual. Although the Hainan chicken itself, is mid (disappointing) -- the rice is really done well and the savory ginger sauce really pairs well. Chicken wings are fairly decent for being baked and are super flavorful. Would return here again soon for a quick lunch pickup during those stressful WFH days!

Solid option for food at Rodeo 39. It's not the cheapest option - I believe we spent roughly $40 for 2 meals and an appetizer. But the portion sizes were large so we got a few meals out of our order. -0.5 stars for noodles being a tad too salty and oily. But +0.5 stars for their ginger sauce. That stuff slaps. I would come back again just for that.

I really liked: Lychee Sugarcane Chicken Fried Rice Sautéed Bok Choy I liked: Hainan Chicken Rice Came for the Hainan Chicken #goodeats but found it a little bland. We saved it with sauces but the salt they used in the broth shoulda been used on the chicken. The Bok Choy was super clean and the sugarcane was very refreshing. I know we could make fried rice at home but this was excellent and I don't mind paying for this quality. Service was pretty fast. It took them 10-15 minutes to get us the food. The store is located inside the rodeo 39 outlets so there's plenty of dessert and entertainment options.

Solid hainanese chicken that was juicy and not oily. Rice was good but could be more herby. The soup was really good to add and did not taste bland. It costs $16 and the server removed the tip option which was surprising. I would tip her for that. It's on the right side of the market behind the stage. Overall I would come back and get this if I'm in the area again!

The interior is minimalistic, but the music playlist hit the vibe right with that Akon song. We ordered the Duck Bao, Boss Bao, Cow Bao, and lastly the Bolsa Bao. It's basically like an Asian taco but the bun is made with rice, so it's very fluffy and soft. The Bolsa Bao which has the roasted pork is very crispy and a bit fatty, but still bomb.
