4.5 stars! Finally got to try this place since there was, for once, no line. As soo. As you come in, you get the chorus of "welcome" by the friendly staff. For me, sometimes that can be too much. The set up is meant to build your own bowl or burrito. I decided to go for a bowl and my friend got a burrito. The guy warming the tortillas recommend the arrachera or al pastor. I went with 1/2 & 1/2. I really enjoyed the arrachera meat. It was seaoned well. Did not really care for the al pastor. It had too much of the clove or cinnamon taste for me and a little sweet. This place does not play when it comes to the portion size. Everything is huge. They have various sauces to choose from, but not knowing the spice levels, I went with medium (which was pretty mild imo). I also got some of their cilantro salsa and a side of spicy. The spicy has a nice kick, without being too spicy and has a decent flavor overall. I also liked the cilantro salsa. I would recommend trying this place out if you're in the area. read more

So incredible that they're expanding and rightfully so. I just hope they're able to maintain the same quality control and customer service. But as it stands, Baqba is basically the authentic Chipotle, except every aspect is bigger and better!!! The portions here are easily double the amount and the quality never feels sacrificed. Customer service is top tier too. We came on Memorial Day and there was a sizable line but it moved relatively quickly. They were even handing out meat samples and water while people waited which was such a nice touch. The steak arrachera is my favorite and their fresh flour tortillas are absolutely top tier. This specific location is also super clean with plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor seating as well. This is definitely the IE's pride and joy right now. read more

Baqba Mexican Grill just opened here in Montclair, and its a hit! Constantly busy for great reason! Humongous portions with a great taste that doesn't dip because of the amount of foot traffic. Inside, there's an ample amount of seating for dining in. There's also music playing and cool designs all over the wall. The service is awesome as well! I don't know how they wrap these burritos.... they're huge. Overall, I'd rate it a 9/10, definitely my go-to after the gym now! read more

My wife picked up the food and it was chaos and service was not that good but it's a new place with new staff. They will get better. I can't wait to come back again. Wow ! Glad to see this place now opened, a lot closer then the Rialto location! They have a lot of staff, and it seems like they are still getting used to everything since I ordered a kids meal, and found out myself that it does come with chips and a drink. Overall the kids burrito was quite good, as you get to put what you want and not get limited items unlike some other places (not gonna name). I got the most ordered steak ara, and it was actually quite good. Just like what other people are saying the food does taste quite authentic, and man the portions they put in like the meat is definitely a huge bonus. Place is completely new and looks clean. Pretty good spot, I recommend the Arrachera Meat if it's your first time here, it's their money maker. Tortillas are made fresh which is a game changer to me. Ingredients are fresh and plenty to choose from. This spot is an authentic Mexican version of that franchise that starts with a "C". If you like them, then you'll like this place . Staff works fast here, just don't be so indecisive and holdup the line because it can get backed up especially during dinner time. Plenty of room to dine in , but it can get crowded. So my buddy and I stopped by this spot ladt night and it was pretty busy for being 10pm. The restaurant seemed clean inside and a decent amount of seating. Came here with some friends this weekend and I highly recommend giving it at least one shot if you're in the area. Here's the rest of my assessment. 1) Food is really tasty and portions are HUGE. 2) Get the steak arrachera unless you can't tolerate beef or you've already had it. 3) Wait is unacceptably long. 4) Packaging is a little annoying to open although it probably prevents leakage. 5) They have multiple options (tacos, burritos, quesadillas). My personal recommendation is the quesadilla for the strong flavors packed in one. I came here with my friend who's a little bit more of a connoisseur with a sensitive palate and he said individually, the ingredients are good, but the combinations are not balanced and a little excessive. He thinks the flavors need to be cut a little more and/or the ingredients meshed more harmonically. read more

5/2/26 Baqba Mexican Grill Montclair, CA...Came here today with one hours notice on an IG post I came across for the grand opening. Stood in line about an hour. Was given a couple bottles of Niagra water and samples of Asada and Al Pastor meats. Leslie and Valeria were great servers outside while in the lines! Once inside I ordered 2 giant Asada burritos and a big glass bottle of Coke to-go. The Asada here is so tasty! I also put black beans. White rice, cilantro, shredded cheese, sour cream, and green salsa! So yummy! All the other workers I came in contact with were so nice! The prices are slightly higher than normal burritos from just anywhere, however, they give you so much items in each burrito!!! Being new, place was very clean and vibrant for the opening! Loved the DJ! Music played reminded me of a few songs from my grade school and high school years! A must try!!! read more

My best friend and I finally decided to try out this place tonight due to all the reviews and videos on social media. My best friend went online and placed an order for an Al Pastor burrito. We drove down to the location and picked it up. Saw a long line and went straight to the cashier to pick up the takeout order. Decent timing in putting the order together for pickup. However, when we brought it home to share the burrito, I noticed that there was NO MEAT inside the burrito. Not in the middle nor at the ends of the burrito. They put everything else we customized in the burrito but absolutely NO MEAT. I even double checked the receipt, we ordered an Al Pastor burrito with the add ons. All I can say is, this place was disappointing. I don't know how you would make a burrito and not check what the order actually is. It doesn't say meatless or veggie burrito. It's an Al Pastor burrito aka it has meat in the burrito. My best friend is pretty upset about this because we got ripped off. Paid $16.34 in total for an Al Pastor burrito but received a meatless burrito. I don't usually bother writing bad reviews for businesses but this one was really disappointing for my best friend and myself. Would not recommend this place. Extremely disappointing. read more

Best part (other than the food), was the warm welcome by the whole staff and how nicely everyone was treated from start to finish. Of course the food is still plentiful and awesome, everybody talks about the portion sizes but I think they have some of best Guacamole in the valley along with the pressed corn tortillas. read more

What is that line for, will let me tell you, it's a new spot, where the tortillas are made fresh in front of you, you can see the meat that's being freshly craved, were your order a burrito(like me) or a bowl, they make it right front of you. The staff was friendly, polite and I felt had the right peace, I don't feel rushed to pick my food and was able to ask about the different sauces, and sides. The place is very clean inside and outside and not too nosy on the inside if you would like to eat there. Now we waited in line starting outside for about 20 mins, but this line wasn't too bad and for me it was worth it my burrito was packed with chicken. Thankfully the line wasn't too long. I had drove by a few times and the line was always out the door. I was excited to try this spot, because I had heard great things. I think the staff needs to be retrained on customer service etiquette. When assembling my burrito I asked the girl if I can put the guacamole on the side since I knew that I would only finish half and would take the other half for lunch and it would get brown. When I went to pay they charged me four dollars just for the guacamole mind you the menu say it's a dollar something to add guac. I asked her why and she just seemed annoyed and didn't explain why, I should of been informed they triple the price to put it on the side. The rice on the burrito was super hard and did not taste good at all. Been to the Rialto location. Came to this location because it's closer to us. The line was long took 30 minutes to order. Food was good just the service was not what we expected. The employees had no sense of urgency. One lady with glasses was just walking back and forth on the line. The owner or manager was just watching the line but no motivation. I heard him tell one kid making the burritos to hurry up but this kid was not the problem. It's the lady doing the bowls, burritos, quesadillas. She has so much patience and no sense of urgency.
