I checked out Bar 44 and had a really good experience overall. The atmosphere was relaxed, the music set the tone for a great night, and the service was friendly and attentive. The standout for me was easily the jerk chicken eggrolls. They were packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and had just the right amount of heat. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, they were one of those appetizers you end up wishing you had ordered two of. Celebrated a friend's birthday here on a Sunday around 1PM. There was only one other group of people there also celebrating a birthday. Upon selecting our own seating, we were informed that they were NOT serving brunch and they were out of eggrolls. Additionally, our server is stuck in traffic, so we have to wait until her arrival. While waiting for our server to arrive, we were "entertained" by an unaccompanied child a few times. There were 6 women in our party. All enjoyed their food and drinks (which were strong). I ordered the Rasta Pasta with no protein. I wanted to order the Cajun Pasta with Vegetables but was informed by the server that they don't really have vegetables and that she does not recommend that order. I appreciated the honesty. The Rasta Pasta was good - B+. When we finished our meal, we requested little plates to serve the birthday cake. We were brought plates. Shortly after, to our surprise, the other party that was there had a birthday song along with sign and sparklers presented to their table. Our table did not receive that treatment. I asked our server why we didn't get that treatment, she stated because they had their cake stored in their kitchen. This was an unacceptable response. Our server was well aware of our table's birthday celebration as she commented on the cake when she first arrived and asked whose birthday it was. To receive no acknowledgment felt very disrespectful. To add insult to injury, the other party was an all-white crew, while my party was an all-black crew. The food and drinks were good. However, the poor service and accommodations, lack of brunch and acknowledgment for our birthday girl, has made my decision to never return. read more

Hubby and I decided last minute to try Bar44 on a Saturday night. We got here around 10pm and no more than 20ppl were in the restaurant/lounge. We were surprised and pleased to know it was open seating, unlike other spots that require payment for a section. We had the lemon pepper wings w/fries (8 for $17) and the jerk chicken wrap w/fries ($10) The food took way too long to come out. We were told that there was only 1 cook in the kitchen. Once the food arrived we were pleased with the quality and taste. We ordered two drinks both of which were tasty. The only real disappointment, aside from the wait for our meals, was the music. There wasn't a visible DJ and so we listened to rap music and a few R&B oldies, the whole time we were there. It would've been good to hear a variety of typically played club/lounge music. read more

Won't lie originally pulled up then pulled off ended up circling back I'm so glad I did. We were greeted by Courtney one of the owners and she was very nice and told us we just missed the brunch crowd so great time for first experience! The place looks nice and well put together tvs line the bar area. There are sections and tables with a nice size bar. The decor isn't too much and the play list was great! Tried the house special drinks and they were made well. I will say drinks were a little slow coming out and the bar wasn't super full but worth the wait for sure. Kay was our server and she gave great recommendation. I tried the wings and fries hot honey lemon pepper and they were good. I truly appreciated the fact they were regular size wings and not those jumbo ones that seem like they are on something but that's just me. Saw this restaurant on TikTok from a reviewer so decided to check it out Friday night. My date and I entered and asked to sit in a booth but were told that bottle service was mandatory for a booth so we went to a table. We ordered 1 Margarita and 2 shots each. He had the shrimp pasta and I had the jerk chicken fries. We also had a hookah. It was noticeably cold inside. Not sure if we were sitting under a vent but we both were cold. The hookah was GOOD! Very refreshing and clean pull. The food was Good. Shrimp pasta came out with 5 shrimp and they were quite small. We asked our waitress about it and she brought an extra shrimp. The flavor was good and it was saucy which I like. No dry food! The loaded jerk chicken fries were good. They chose a great fry and the layers of flavor was there. The drinks were Good.... The Service was Good. Our Waitress KiKi was very kind and gave good suggestions. She also asked us how did we enjoy the experience when we were leaving. We did tell her everything was good but we didn't expect the price tag... The Price - $202.94 was the final cost. $13.52 for a shot and $16.52 for a margarita is ridiculous. Sales tax in Marietta is 6% but they are charging 8.9% sales tax. They have a mandatory 18% Service Charge included. A mandatory charge for a party of 2?! 3.5 stars due to us liking everything but the cost. The price will probably be a factor in if we ever return but I do wish them success and I am glad we supported a BOB. read more

Had a date night the other night at Bar 44, and we really enjoyed ourselves. There was a DJ, and no wait to get seated. The owner made his way to us to introduce himself, which I thought was nice, and our server was friendly and attentive. The drinks were very tasty and not lacking in alcohol, which is what we like. The food was very good, as well. My fiancé had the tacos, and I had the salmon pasta. Both portions were sizable for the price. We had a good time at Bar 44, and will return again! read more

I came for brunch Saturday. Our server was Lea and the service was amazing. We had a party of 6. I ordered the shrimp and grits and also the shareable mimosa. The shrimp and grits had good flavor, but the grits came out cold. The mimosas were really good. It's $25 per bottle and it comes with one juice and you can get purees for a $5 upcharge. They only offer bottled water for $4 and all silverware is plastic. They try to offer healthy options so there is no bacon. They offer chicken sausage, turkey sausage, and bacon. I also tried the double double. The flavor was there, but the chicken was fried in old grease. It was a vibe and I see the potential with some minor tweaks. read more

Bar 44 is usually pretty lit in the evenings, so we decided to try their weekend brunch. When we arrived around 12:30, there weren't many people there so we were able to sit anywhere. Our server came up to us and asked if we wanted water (of course they're bottled and there's a charge). We also started off with a bottle of champagne. With the champagne you can get juices and purées. After seeing our server for the first time, she then disappeared so we waited a while to put our food orders in. When she finally came back we ordered the Double Double, Ice Cream French Toast, Strawberry Crunch French Toast, Shrimp & Grits (Boom boom fried), and Shrimp & grits (Buttery garlic grilled). The chicken in the Double Double tasted like they fried it in old fish grease. The shrimp & grits were good, but they don't give you much because the bowl is not deep. And of course after we received our food the server disappeared again for a while. For the restaurant to not be busy, I'm not sure why we could never find our server. Do not fall for the IG posts!! I drove 40 minutes on a Sunday evening to patronize this business and watch a NBA playoff game. Upon arrival, nobody greeted us, and the bar area was full, so we sat ourselves. A young lady came from behind the bar and informed they were only doing food items from their late night menu options, despite us arriving earlier for the full menu. Then, a waitress comes by and lets us know they had run out of food, further limiting our food options; like literally 3 food options remaining to pick from. They didn't even have wings! I try to support the local businesses in the area so we went to an event tonight (2 of us) at this location. We sat at the bar, and I ordered a tequila and cranberry along with a Ginger ale. What happened to allowing the customer to tip? I tip %20 plus whenever I go out. When I received the bill, there was an added %3 gratuity on it. Get this!! The fine print also said there will be a %3 gratuity on all parties of 0 or larger. Needless to say, this is a ridiculous charge, and the owners should be ashamed of themselves. I will not be revisiting this location. Sadly, I gave them 2 stars because it is a decent atmosphere for the area. No thanks, there are at least 5 more in the area, I'll go there. read more

The energy was everything, food was good, drinks was cool, and if you hookah they got you too. The party i came with was in the section and it was comfortable to view the entire place. So whether you're coming with your squad or solo there is a place for you to sit. Their bathrooms were clean and the staff was attentive monitoring the restrooms as needed. A nice size mirror is outside of the restroom to entertain yourself as you wait for 1 of 3 restrooms to use. I personally ordered the Burria Tacos and Abuela (grandma in Spanish) gots to be in the kitchen because they tasted great with the sauce. And the cilantro and lime was the perfecto! Thankfully, I came with a generous group so I'll recommend the wings too if you like them crispy and the fries. My waitress, Ariel, handled us well for the size crew we had. This place used to be another lounge, and the new owners have completely renovated the place. I've been twice now, both times on a Sunday to watch the games, but one was early like breakfast time, and the other was later in the afternoon. PROS: An entirely new atmosphere. Lots of TV, lots of space, lots of seating, and a completely revamped menu. The Jerk Wings were REALLY REALLY good. The drinks were good, and the breakfast was good too. A very smooth upscale vibe, which is especially rare on this side of town (Marietta.) CONS: Not many. The prices might scare "cost conscious consumer" but not too much crazier than any other nice lounge in the city. I think they were having some issues with the sound/DJ while I was there, because the music was loud and over the games one time. Also, they're closed on Tuesday and Wednesday*(edited), but that's just a personal thing because I'm close and want to go on those days. Overall, this may be my new little spot to turn up on a grown and sexy vibe. I hesitate to give it 5 full stars, because it's still relatively new. Also, I haven't been any other days, or at night when I heard it is most popping. But from what I've experienced, this place will be great very soon if they keep up/improve from here. read more

I was able to sit at the bar. I did order mimosas which was $25 for a bottle since I don't believe they did singles. So a heads up on that. They advised they were out of the chicken and waffles and French toast. I actually had my mind set on the French toast so I ordered the shrimp and grits. The food was good. Came randomly on early Saturday afternoon. Sat at the bar and Chris took care of me. Super dope bartender. Great drinks and super attentive as well as personable. Ordered a hookah and the burger with the fried egg. The hookahs are solid. Apparently i came in during their "happy hour" so whiskey sours and lemon drops are $6 and hookahs are $25. The burger was pretty decent. Not terrible but not the best thing I've ever had. The meat patty itself was actually incredibly flavorful. I visited bar44 after seeing it advertised on Instagram. We went on a Saturday around 5pm; they do have a parking lot but there's a plaza near by so I assume when its busy you could park at the plaza. It's located off a main thoroughfare but the area didn't seem over populated. We sat at the bar and had dinner. I ordered the jerk chicken pasta an my friend ordered the salmo pasta. We both had drinks -- i ordered a tequila and pineapple and she ordered one of their specialty cocktails. The drinks range about $13 or more once we got our tabs. The music playing in the background was good. You can tell they had ended brunch and was in the in between period waiting for their evening/ late night crowd. Our food came out timely. It was fresh. The pasta was a little dry I wish I would've asked for more sauce on the Alfredo . The peppers -- really all the vegetables were raw. It sort of threw me to eat well cooked pasta and then bight into a raw pepper in my Alfredo. It was good but I would've preferred if the pepper mix was atleast sautéed down. Our waitress / the bar tender was nice. There's an automatic 20% i believe added to our check. For me living further south Atlanta I wouldn't go out my way to come back here again.
