Let me preface this by saying I try really hard to support local businesses, because they are important to the local economy. But what I did not appreciate is the smarmy sign posted to the door complaining that 'nobody wants to work anymore'. Out of curiosity, I looked up if the chain (it is a chain) took any PPP funds. In total, they took $845,187 in FORGIVEN PPP loans. One for $343,585 in April of 2020 alongside $20,583 on the same date, and then another for $481,019 in January of this year. I am sorely disappointed that nearly a million dollars of taxpayer money goes to such a whiny establishment. Pay your employees better and maybe they'll want to work for you. read more

I went with the chicken (bland), the brisket (uncomfortably dry), and the pork (palatable...thank goodness). For my sides, I ordered baked beans and mac & cheese. The baked beans had this weird, slimy consistency...very off-putting. I barely remember anything of the mac & cheese. You also get cornbread - in old school hoe-cake form. It wasn't good either. What I can say is I'd love to go back and eat there because the BBQ that I had was pretty darn tootin' good. Pulled pork with a great, thick, sauce (comes plain, I added the sauce). It was tender and moist and delicious. And I've had a lot of pulled pork. I also had the potato salad, which was different - I'm not sure what was in it. My personal favorite is the pork stuffed potato. There are several options on the kids' menu, and kids' meals come with drinks and a choice of side item. Surprisingly good. We went in before our movie and I was impressed at how moist and delicious the pulled pork was. I got the sampler meal and although I was not a fan of the ribs, which surprised me, the chicken and pulled pork with mac n' cheese saved the plate. Baby back ribs are SUPERB!!! Brunswick stew is chock full of fresh ingredients that have been slow-cooking for a married taste. When I am in the mood for barbecue and don't want to drive up to the family's favorite place in Ellijay, Bar-B-Cutie is usually my choice. Their pork is pulled instead of sliced or chopped, and it is usually just juicy enough without being too fatty. The brisket is passable, but a little on the dry side, though admittedly brisket isn't my favorite thing. I'm also not a fan of the cornbread. However, the sauce and pork are great for chain barbecue, as are the sides. One of the big things that gets BarBCutie points for me is that they have a pretty good vinegar-based sauce in addition to the usual choices chain places give you. Portions are reasonable, though I usually get the larger sandwich. Also, the drink fountain uses crushed ice and has pretty good iced tea. In short, there's definitely better barbecue places out there, but if you don't want to make the trek to a one-off place, Bar-B-Cutie is a safe bet for pulled pork. read more

I don't ever write reviews but this one I HAD to. Let me preface by saying I usually get from JD's but they haven't had brisket by the pound since the pandemic started. Since I really wanted brisket we decided to give this place a try. I ordered online and arrived about 12min AFTER my order was supposed to be ready. It wasnt. I waited 5 more minutes and someone came out and told me they were out of brisket. I had placed my order over 30 minutes before. The least they could have done was call me. Brisket-out. Ribs-out. Potatoes-out. I finally settled with some pork since I didnt have many options( already ordered chicken too). I asked them to refund me the difference. Once I recieved my food I asked if they just could give me another pint of baked apples instead. No problem they said. The girl came out and said my apples would be out in a minute they just put them in the microwave. WHAT?!? Were these people for real? 10 minutes later, no apples. Oh they forgot them in the microwave. I watched the guy grab them out with no gloves on and pour them in a container. Once I got home i quickly realized the food was more appalling than the service. The pulled chicken was NOT pulled, the beans tasted like they came from a can and the bbq sauce tasted like kraft. The sides were not even full and the apples were LITERALLY FLOATING in a 1/2 and inch of oil. I wouldn't wish this food on my worst enemy. Save yourself the hassel and just go to JD's. This place is great. It's our "go-to to-go" place when we want BBQ. Ribs, pulled pork - it's all tender and juicy. Tastes great. We don't usually eat there, we get the "to go" family deal... tried to order the family deal and 4 drinks one time and they looked at us like we were aliens. The cashiers looked at each other like "what do we do??" - turns out that's a sore issue with them. You can't order the "to go only" family deal and eat it inside the restaurant. I looked around at an empty restaurant and started to walk out. The manager stopped us and asked us if everything was OK, I said to the manager "Seriously?, we we're going to get drinks and will leave a tip plus there is NOBODY here" The manager just stared at me ... so we walked out.
