    Beef kebob bowl

Really good choice for grabbing a quick healthy meal. I got the beef kebob bowl and everything tasted super fresh. The beef was tender, and everything had really good seasoning. The staff were very friendly and I got my food pretty quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside it was a small seemingly clean place that was pretty quite.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Very good option if you're in the area and don't have much time but still want something good and healthy.

While kid #2 was visiting Wash U, we decided to make the short stroll to the Delmar Loop to relive some experiences from so long ago. This used to be one of our main destinations during our brief residence in St Louis, and we were curious to see how it had changed, and to look for a new food adventure. There's no doubt that this area has upped its culinary game. There's a fine diversity of places to eat, but also familiar and reliable spots like Blueberry Hill. Though we were tempted to go with something nostalgic, we espied American Falafel and decided that this would be our lunch for the day. The menu here is small and simple but hits the highlights of Mediterranean cuisine, with wraps, bowls, and a couple kebab options. We decided to keep it light - we needed to save some space for Ted Drewes in just a little bit. Falafel wrap - several falafel balls with tomatoes, pickles, hummus, and tahini wrapped in a lavash flatbread. The falafels were delicious and the rest of the fillings were very good as well. The lavash held up nicely - sometimes these wraps get soggy and fall apart. Baba ganoush with pita - just a little disappointing, as it wasn't as garlicky as we prefer, and we couldn't get a sense of any lemon that is usually present in this dish. The pita was actually the lavash used to make the wraps; we would have preferred something a little more substantial to scoop up it up. Prices were reasonable and service was friendly. We appreciated the complimentary hot sweet tea that we were given even before ordering. Don't know if the kiddo is going to end up going to college here, but if he is fortunate enough to get in then we'll be back.

Had to get food on the way to the airport and I was very glad I stopped here. The worker/owner was such a delight. So friendly and gave great recommendations. I had the beef and chicken bowl and this was delicious! Such a large portion and very light and healthy.

Amongst the many places to eat on Delmar, I've made a stop at this small place to have a shawarma. My gf and I was greeted by one of the employees upon entering and he was able to help us through the menu and answering any questions we had (in regards to spice, cuz I'm a spice guy). After we ordered a shawarma and a falafel, he poured us two cups of tea, on the house. It was a nice gesture. So we took it outside to wait on our food. When our food was brought out, it was still hot. The steak fries were fresh and good. The shawarma had a good mix of chicken, veggies and sauce. The bread was more on the hard side so it was tedious to hold the contents in. Made it a little messy, but good nonetheless. I'll come back to try the bowls, and the more spice.

I can't say enough wonderful things about American Falafel. We have ordered delivery three times now, and I think I may be addicted. It is perfect for a quick and healthy lunch or dinner, and has been consistent in quality and taste. I order the same thing every time: the original falafel sandwich. It comes in a wrap with hummus and tahini, with more tahini on the side, along with pickled fresh vegetables. Because I can't resist them, I've been pairing them with their perfectly-cooked, fluffy french fries. They're seriously some of the best fries I've had in St. Louis, and are worth the splurge. The wrap is pretty big and I end up saving half for lunch the next day. What more could you want, especially with such reasonable prices? I'm so glad this spot is close to my house, and we'll definitely be ordering again very soon! I have my eye on their salads and the chicken galaya.

They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The people working here were very nice and friendly. My order took some time to come out (~20 min), but I was not in a hurry. Baba Ganoush (eggplant) $7 - Delicious, earthy and smooth! This comes with pita chips. Falafel Sandwich $9 - Good taste, low key, easy to eat. On the pricey side for being served with a side of vegetables. Chicken Galaya $9 - Chicken and onions in a tasty sauce, slightly oily and served between two pita bread. ....| \ _ , , , - - , , _ , .../ , ` . - ' ` ' . _ \ - ; ; ; , _ ..| , a - ) ) _ . ; . The best falafel I've ever had. This was also echoed by others who had either also eaten there, or who went there after hearing about it from me. The falafel are fresh and flavorful inside, with a light tasting coating outside. Not an old, heavy oil feel that I too often get with falafel. We ate in, and I mentioned to the owner how good it was. He said that they make it up fresh every day. Oh, and when you come in, the owner comes to the counter, immediately fills two cups with tea without saying what he is doing, places a fresh mint leaf in each, and hands you a complimentary Bedouin hot tea. A very good, smooth and sweet (but not overly s) tea, too. Baba ganoush had a terrific smokiness to it. Really enhanced it for me. It comes with pita bread to scoop it up. For whatever reason, perhaps because we were raving about the baba ganoush appetizer, or perhaps because I had told the owner I had come there after reading the recent newspaper review of his place, he also brought out a complimentary order of Lebanese hummus and pita. It was a good hummus with a basic chickpea, oil, and garlic flavor. Chicken sumac shawarma was also quite good. The sumac gave the chicken a bright crispness that was great on a hot summer day. The wrap only has onions and almond slivers added, and that's all you need. Anything more would just mask the chicken sumac, instead of adding to the already sufficient complexity of flavor from those ingredients. The sumac's purple hue on the chicken was really quite pretty. My kefta burger was a neat new experience. By itself, the kefta patty might be a bit more rich than I'd want. But married to cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles on a bun, it mixed up a satisfying flavor from all the spices. They might want to consider a different bun in the future, though. The soft sesame seed bun was overly large, which made the patty seem smaller than it really is and gives too many bread only bites. And it tore apart in my hands so that it was pretty messy. Something a little smaller and firmer would do the burger a better service. Overall, everything here was pretty much a winner.

Very tasty food and incredibly nice staff! I ordered the chicken wrap and it tasted very fresh! In addition, I really liked that the food wasn't greasy with too much sauce. The staff were super friendly and the building was clean! I'll definitely be back!

    Good fries!

Super fresh, made after you order, but still really speedy. Hummus and pita were yummy. Falafel wrap was flavorful and appropriately spicy. Large sandwich. Beef kabob wrap was also delicious. Fries have an interesting spice that adds depth to the potato. Crispy and hot fries! I'd have preferred a fountain soda over can, but that's a me thing. Great service. Eat here!

There are hundreds of places to eat in the Delmar Loop and I was lucky enough to wander into the door of this little place nestled in between two other unique looking restaurants. A warm greeting while walking in followed by a welcoming aroma, I want to try everything. The menu is very simple but impactful. I usually go for the Beef shawarma but something drew me to the Original Falafel Wrap (probably the restaurant name!) and wow. While I waited they offered me some tea on the house that was so pleasant. I will be making the 45 minute trip from my home to enjoy this on the regular.

The place was very clean! I was shocked to see it within delmar! It looked truly amazing on the inside! Due to the order, I did take out but it did not take them long at all! The tea with mint was very warm and good for the type of weather we are currently having in St. Louis! The steak shawarma was good also! The prices is very affordable! This will be my new perfect spot! Well done!

Can't go wrong with a classic Iberico and the bacon wrapped dates were my favorite. Rabbit was also a star, large portions and delicious though somewhat messy looking in a dish resembling a tomato stew. The lamb was presented beautifully; unfortunately the pomegranate glaze was just too acidic and bitter for the dish to be a winner even though the peas did balance somewhat. Overall we had a good time but without consistency and sporting a hefty price tag I'm not planning to be a regular.
