I've tried this place 3 times now and I'm officially done. I love supporting local but man, it was just disgusting. The last time I was here I had the shrimp tacos. The shrimp was rubbery, undercooked and unseasoned...placed on an undercooked tortilla and topped with cesar salad! Yes, cesar salad. I was very confused because the pictures on Instagram don't show Caesar salad topped on it. It's supposed to be cabbage with a chipotle type orange colored sauce. It was a terrible combination and it was 22 dollars which was insane. I was starving and I hate wasting food so I ate as much as I could stomach I should have sent it back, but because I was the only person in the restaurant eating it felt awkward to do so. The last couple times I ate from here, everything I had tasted like Michelina's frozen meal. Each time I ate there I spent at least $60. Like I said I love supporting local restaurants but man the food is so terrible and I have no idea how they have so many five star reviews. #18 for 2024 This is a small restaurant bar with only a few tables. Not recommended for large parties. There were 2 people working when we came. Service is a bit slow with very few tables available. The bar was wide open if you wanted to sit there. Noise level was not high so it was easy to converse. We were taking a break so we didn't have much time. With only an hour it's very tight having to walk to get here. I can't say it was worth it. The food was good and satisfying but there wasn't any wow factors to get excited about. The $26.00 lasagna was hefty in it's aluminum tray. Not sure if I could eat it all. I could split that and be happy. The chicken alfredo was okay. I guess I'm use to a creamier, rich sauce. This is an absolutely amazing gem that my boyfriend and I found tonight! Be prepared to spend a pretty penny however, BUT the food is so worth it! Came here as a little fun date night & absolutely loved the joint & will be coming back! Our servers were outstanding as well, very friendly vibes & great music as well as having some very chill programs on the tv. They have dim lighting here as well & for the parking you have to pay for the metered parking outside (assuming you find a spot). This place also isn't too far from the metro if you ride that into the city! You can see the Capitol building as well from the restaurant which was really sweet. Overall a very clean restaurant & well kept, the food also came out in a very decent time (15-20 minute wait) and you can watch the chef make it from certain seats. We got a deal through Groupon, which comped the appetizer, a charcuterie board, and two mixed drinks. Everything tasted wonderful and the service was excellent. This was a welcome stop on the way from our hotel to the Denver Center for Performing Arts. (easy 10-15 minute walk to the Buell Theatre). Bar Red was kind enough to make a Caesar Salad split for 3. Our gluten-free friend found clearly-marked options from the menu, which was nice. I ordered a flatbread pizza and was brought the wrong one, but it was one I didn't mind so I didn't say anything. It was good. The menu on their website did not match what was presented in-house, and we didn't inquire whether those entrees could still be made. Went here after working a show at the convention center all day. We based our choice on reviews and the menu posted on this site, grubhub, and the establishments' own website. All of the menus agreed on price except the paper ones we were handed at the table. Those menus had the prices jacked up by more than 50%. When we questioned the difference, we were rudly informed that we would be paying the paper menu price. When we asked, "What if we ordered takeout?" Before we could even finish the question, we were interrupted with "you're gonna pay those prices" while pointing at the paper menu. The menus in the restaurant were printed on paper and slipped into a folding menu sleeve. Again, those prices were more than 50% over the prices listed on their own website. I believe they inflated their prices simply to steal from the people attending Fan Expo. I would never give this piece of garbage a penny of my money, and unless you like supporting dishonest businesses, I suggest you don't either. read more

I've been to Bar Red twice now, and after the second time, I chose to gave this place 2 stars. The first time we went was for the whole deal you get if you show your ticket for an event at the Denver Convention Center that you are attending that day and then receive any free drink -- which is a great deal, as the margarita I had was delicious (and originally like $9!). However, it was strangely quiet in the bar (at around 5:00 pm on a Thursday night). Along with our free drinks, we got 2 appetizers during their happy hour (the artichoke dip is truly cheesy & delicious & the flatbreads are pretty tasty as well). The only true weird thing about our first experience was the environment. Our first experience was pretty good, but the second time we went to Bar Red was not all that enjoyable. I had a coupon for $25 off $50, so we decided to get drinks, an appetizer and 2 entrees. The artichoke dip was too good the first time to pass up, so we got that again, and then we got the Chicken Parmesan and the Salmone Agrodolce - my boyfriend loved his dish, and mine was just fine, nothing too special. But the worst part of the whole thing was the extremely slow, inattentive service. Our waiter showed no emotion throughout our whole meal and rarely checked on us to see how we were doing - nor did he apologize for the slowness of the service. We were there for nearly 2 hours, which really didn't make sense, as the place was nearly abandoned, once again. Because of the poor service (and the strange ambiance of the nearly-empty place), we do not plan to go back to Bar Red. read more

We picked this place because the prices weren't terrible on line. When we were given the menu, we were sadly mistaken fettuccine Alfredo $22 and it wasn't even a full portion. We spent $50 on subpar, artichoke dip and fettuccine Alfredo. I watched the bartender fish out something floating in a woman's red wine. Fantastic! Divine! Delicious! I could go on and on about this trendy little spot. First let me say this was the best meal I had in Denver. I also loved the decor, reminding me of a cafe in Paris. Dim lights, but big windows with lots of activity outside. I was shocked to see people in almost every seat ( but socially distanced) . The place is intimate, with a few tables and a small bar. It's so cool! Downstairs has a fireplace that is probably fantastic in the winter. The patrons were young, gorgeous, lively. It added to the vibe. The food stole the show-- and d ceded my expectations. We had the shrimp scampi and chicken Parmesan. Wow! The shrimp was large and perfectly cooked. The sauce was creamy, light, buttery and melted in our mouths. The pasta was thick ribbons that tasted totally homemade. Some of the best pasta I've ever eaten. Soooo damn good. The chicken Parmesan was also amazing, a huge portion with gooey cheese and a side of pasta. They are definitely following COVID guidelines, we were served on disposable plates and everything was really clean. The staff work masks and were very cognizant of being on top of it. Stopped here on a whim and immediately dug the vibe. Small, dark and chill. Service was good. Drinks were excellent. The homemade pasta is exemplary. Only criticism I have were the Baja shrimp tacos were shot. They consisted of saturated tortillas, shrimp with little flavor and a heaping pile of lettuce.
