We came during a busy time and generally they like for you to have reservations but fortunately they had room in the VIP section so we were sat in seconds. The room is cute and has good vibes but it definitely is VIP. Closed off to any people watching. We got the crab bisque, flatbread stuffed pepper and it was amazing!! I ate all of my plate. The waitress was very kind and attentive. I had found something in my food and I wasn't sure what it was so I asked the waitress and she wants sure. Honestly, I wasn't pressed about it and still ate the whole thing. She said the manager was going to comp me but I told her NO! I ate the whole thing I Will absolutely pay for it. She still took it off so I left a %50 tip. Excellent food, service and prices. Must recommend!

I've been here three times and I'm always impressed with the atmosphere and experience. We sat in the bar for this visit and had a three course dinner. Started with a few appetizers, and of course had to get the table-side guacamole. It's made custom to heat preference so we got medium this time. Ryan was our server and attentive the entire time. I ordered the salmon for dinner and it was incredible! A few friends of the steak, and it looked great too. We got a couple desserts to share, the ice cream donut and crème brûlée. Overall amazing meal and service.

The service was outstanding. The food was amazing. And the atmosphere was very pleasant and welcoming. I spent my birthday here with my girlfriend and her friend and her friend's boyfriend. We want to come back for more tasty entrees.

My husband took me to Barbacoa for my birthday. We had a great time, so I didn't want to upset the mood by complaining, but my Seafood Mixto was pretty bad. I ordered it because, well, I can cook a steak at home. But to prep the variety of seafood on this plate, hand make the pasta for the "spinach linguine in a spicy cream feta cheese sauce", then cook it all to perfection. Well, that to me was worth the $72 price tag. However, the seafood was room temp, the crab meat came in the form of itty bitty shavings, and the handmade linguine was overcooked, gummy, solid, and there was no trace of the "spicy cream feta cheese sauce" as promised. The noodles reminded me of refrigerated store bought Japanese udon that comes freshly made in a oxygen deprived plastic pouch. To revive it you place it in boiling water along with the spice packet. Before placing it in the water it looks like a brick of compacted noodles. My Seafood Mixto noodles looked like that brick. They were never placed in the proverbial boiling water and revived. They were just plunked on a plate and covered with the seafood and a pretty orchid. In some sense I would've preferred cooking and eating a $3.50 store bought package of Japanese udon, than being robbed $72 by being promised an experience I never received. Also, three servers came by and asked me how I liked my entree and I said "the noodles are overcooked, hard and gummy" to all of them, but all I got was a "I'm sorry to hear that" and they went on their way w/o attempting to make it right.

What an incredible experience. Staff was second to none and food was delicious. Loved the vibe in here.

It's been a few years since I have been to Barbacoa. Tonight we came in for my husband's company late Christmas Christmas party. Last year we celebrated at their sister restaurant Coa Del Mar and enjoyed every bit of it. My husband and his co workers can't get enough of the filet hot rock. It was an unanimous vote to come to Barbacoa to celebrate our post holiday dinner. Our first interactions coming in was not pleasing. I will have to say, the hostesses were quite rude and unorganized. Our table had already checked in and sat. We were the last ones to show up. The hostess had a hard time locating our reservation even though our party was already somewhere in the dining area. We repeated the reservation name to her several times. Clearly she wasn't paying attention since we had to say it over and over again. After several attempts, she finally located our party. "Someone will guide you to your table". After standing there for a bit we realized no one was going to "guide us" anytime soon. It's such a shame that we started our experience with this kind of service. We ended up just locating our party on our own. She was completely useless in the help department. Our server had gotten drinks started for our table since we got there late. She got us squared away after we got ourselves situated. We breezed over the menu while she grabbed our sodas. Guac was also started for the table. The table side guacamole never disappoints. We toasted, enjoyed our appetizer and hung out till our server was ready to take our orders. I ordered the ribeye tonight. My husband got the filet hot rock with a couple of his co workers. I asked for my ribeye to be really well done. With my new kidney, I can't really have undercooked steak. Our server reassured me that my steak will be cooked well done and that it was going to be great. For my side I got some asparagus. I have had the asparagus every time I have eaten here and it's always fantastic. It was busy tonight and there were quite a few of us in our group so our food did take a minute to get prepared. But after everything was dropped off, I knew it was worth the wait. Our food looked phenomenal! The gentleman who poured my husband's cognac sauce did a great job, great presentation. I got my beautiful ribeye on a black board placed in front of me. My friend next to me ordered the salmon. On her salmon was a vibrant orchid. It added such an elegant touch to her plate. Everyone's food looked fantastic. This is where I compliment the chef. My ribeye was juicy, flavorful and it had outstanding char marks on it. For my ribeye to be cooked well done, it was so tender. The sauce that was paired with it was tangy and spicy. It was the perfect sauce for my ribeye. The asparagus once again was money. I ate a little more than half of my steak and I look forward to finishing it tomorrow. Dessert was a must after we finished dinner. I have had the fried ice cream pops in the past. They are too good! But the bananas foster was calling my name tonight. Our friends next to us ordered the same dessert. The rest of the party got the fried ice cream pops. The presentation for the bananas foster was magnificent. We dug right in after the flame went out. The bread pudding was divine. The gelato that came on the side was sweet and creamy. Paired together the bread pudding and gelato was the ultimatecombination. As full as I was, I had to finish this lovely dessert. Our start wasn't the best. The hostesses are the first people to set the tone of your dining experience. I'm happy that our server, the vibe and of course the food made up for such horrible first interactions. Our server was on point and so was everyone else who tended to our table. With Barbacoa having such a rich and romantic vibe, it resonates in their food. Everything about tonight was lovely. Looking forward to coming back when it's warmer so we can sit out on the patio by the water. I can't think of a better way to enjoy to have dinner.

Barbacoa Grill is definitely one of the most unique dining spots in Boise. The atmosphere is super cool artsy, modern, and a little over-the-top in a fun way. It's a great place for a date night or special occasion. The food was overall really good. The wagyu steak is full of flavor, I wish there was no sauce and blue cheese on the top and the table-side guacamole is fresh and well done. Oyster was fresh. The chicken wings were good , polenta was delicious. The lemon tart was really really good. Service was excellent ,attentive without being overbearing, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. It's definitely on the pricier side, but totally worth it for the experience. If you're looking for a place that combines great food, atmosphere, and a memorable night out, Barbacoa is the spot.

SO DELICIOUS everything we had was absolutely delicious we started out with guac - they asked how spicy we wanted it which i thought was a nice touch paella was seasoned well, full of flavor and had tons of different proteins seafood mixto was a lemon forward pasta and was perfect to go with the other dishes the new york strip was amazing, love the idea of the hot rock and get the cognac sauce on the side we got the zucchini chips on the side of the steak and they were perfectly crisp! sliced super thin!! Service was impeccable, Tim was so delightful and considerate

Great decor and location, especially with Halloween additions. Service is always top notch at this restaurant and their others. Love their "BOGO" (buy one, get one) drink specials during happy hour. Everyone loved their meals. The rib entree is HUGE (sorry, no pics). Definitely need a to-go box. My carne asada could have used some more seasoning. Chose the hot rock and sauce and even though the sauce is delicious, it doesn't say "carne asada". Could have had some different and additional sides to make your own tacos but still a good dish. Would not order this entree again with all of the other good options. Would some here again.

Traveling from LA to Boise for business. After settling into our hotel we headed out to dinner at Barbacoa. Having been to many great restaurants up and down the California coast I wasn't expecting much more than a nice dinner out and to my surprise it turned out to be one of best dining experiences under my belt. The food was so very savory and flavorful. Gourmet for sure in my book. The presentation was lots of fun, engaging very welcoming. Service was on point and very tentative especially considering how busy they were. Friday night what can I say. It was a great time. The restaurant was very stylish with a red themed vibe which made it alluring and relaxing. Trendy but setting the pace in their own way. Another one of many good reasons to return to Boise.

This place is amazing! The food, atmosphere, the service and you get an amazing view! I got salmon and it came with veggies and rice! Everything was cooked perfect and so fresh! My husband got duck 2 ways and he said it was so juicy! We got a lemon dessert that was so sweet and tasty! The service is amazing and they had happy hour drinks! What a great experience! Plus table side guac!

We went to Barbacoa in downtown Boise for a birthday celebration and it was an incredible experience! The food was amazing from start to finish. We started with the table side guacamole, which came with both chips and vegetables for dipping. For our entrées, we had the lamb chops, two hot rock steaks, and the paella, and every dish was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. For dessert, they brought out a cotton candy cake with a flourless chocolate cake hidden inside, complete with a birthday candle. We also tried the cheesecake bites and the bananas foster, and they were all delicious. The service was excellent throughout the night. Prices are on the higher side, but this is definitely a high end spot perfect for special occasions, and worth every penny. We sat inside, but with the doors open we enjoyed beautiful views of the mountains and pond, which made the evening even better. I highly recommend Barbacoa, especially if you're celebrating something special!

This is my second time visiting this restaurant. The service is impeccable--two servers per table. The restaurant is located by the lake, so the view is great. The food is okay, but the seafood mixto is overpriced. A plate of spinach noodles with two prawns and two large scallops, topped with some random bits of shrimp or crab trimmings, costs $50.

It has a nice ambience. Inside are a combination of booths, half booths, low and bar height tables, dark wood, with a nice semi-circular bar with a nice, semi-circular metal decoration that was filled with artificial plants, wine bottles, and small kegs. There was a wine rack accent wall on the right. It is located in downtown Boise at the corner of Idaho and 8th St along restaurant row. Our server was Matthew B, and while he was a nice guy, he did not provide good service. It took him a while to get to our table, then after we ordered drinks, it took too long to get them. We then ordered appetizers but he didn't take our dinner orders. We waited too long for the appetizers, and then we ordered our dinners, which also took a while to come out. Runners brought our food out, not Matthew. He did not to refill the women's sodas, we had to ask. He did bring another glass of wine to one of the men, but that was because he was signaled. He did not ask the other people that ordered beer and cocktails if they wanted another. We never had our water glasses refilled. We told him about the birthday celebration, and all he said was, if we ordered dessert, he would put a candle on it. What? Most places serve a complimentary dessert for a birthday celebration. He also took too long to bring us our checks. We're all good tippers. We gave him 15%; he didn't deserve it. The food was OK, not spectacular, but overpriced. As far as the apetizers, the asparagus fries were not that flavorful, though nicely crusted. The cauliflower was just OK, likewise the chicken wings. I did like the honey and balsamic grilled brussel sprouts. Speaking for my wife and I, she liked the BAM Sammy. The side salad was average. I ordered the Urban Burger. While the patty was cooked well, it was small. I can get a bigger, better burger that costs less at any number of restaurants we frequent, including a few near us (we live in Star). I did like the fries. Crispy, with I believe Parmesan cheese coating them. My friend said his smoked salmon salad was just OK. We found it very loud, and difficult to hear each other in conversation. Needless to say, we have no plans to return to Fork.

We had a free appetizer coupon and ordered the Texas Tonion. For entrees he ordered a 12 oz New York strip steak with baked potato and salad and I ordered the 10oz salmon that comes with seasoned rice, a baked potato, and salad. Fresh bread and butter was served, also. The Texas Tonion arrived quickly: hot and delicious. NOT GREASY! I prefer ranch dressing rather than the dip provided and Melannie brought it quickly. The salads were out fast. Tasty. The entrees were delivered long enough after the appetizer and salads so we didn't feel rushed. NICE! I don't enjoy starting an app or salad only to have my hot entree placed in front of me. Good timing here! So, that being said, my potato was warm not hot. His potato was hot and a little dry. His steak was delicious, seasoned nicely without an overabundance of salt, and cooked medium rare as he asked. My salmon was perfect. Again not overly salted but perfectly seasoned. The rice was good. It was a very enjoyable lunch. The atmosphere is conducive for conversation; we didn't have to yell over the music to be heard. Melannie was very attentive, checking back frequently, and brought another soda before I needed to ask. The only other cons, hence the 4 stars, is that my menu was filthy. I asked for a clean one and the hostess found 2 more that were dirty before handing me a clean one. Also, his fork had food stuck to it and my steak knife was greasy before I used it. I was so busy I forgot to take pics of the entrees. Sorry! They looked good. Take my word for it.

The bread and salad being included with the meal was a nice touch. Service was very friendly and our food came out surprisingly fast, especially considering how busy it was. The restaurant was very clean, with western-style décor and low lighting inside, which I personally prefer. There's also plenty of parking. Overall, a solid experience. I'd definitely recommend LongHorn Steakhouse for all ages. Great steaks, and plenty of options for people who don't want steak too.

The toast on my Croque Madame was incredible. I added a little strawberry jam to each bite and just a touch of Tapatío for an extra kick--absolutely perfect. I also may have stolen a few bites of my wife's hot Chicken & Waffles with lavender honey ice cream and maple syrup... and wow. I couldn't get enough of that either. We were here celebrating our 20-year anniversary and were thrilled to discover this gem tucked away in the Grove Hotel. I'm honestly shocked by how amazing the food is. The service was top notch--John B. took incredible care of us. We even had the chance to compliment the chef and meet Ryan, who made my Croque Madame. Hearing him talk about his experience, his love for cooking, and seeing the precision and care he puts into his work made the meal even more special. It truly shows in every bite. Because of the service, the experience, and the expertise behind the food, we happily left a generous tip--it was well deserved. And for only $18-$20 per entrée, the value is unbelievable. I can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu... although I'm the type of guy who, once I find something I love, it's hard not to order it again. So many great choices--what do I do?! Absolutely loved our experience here. Highly recommend.

We considered meeting family at the Trillium tonight because they happen to be staying at the Grove Hotel . While we waited for thier arrival, we looked at the menu by the entrance . The restaurant was empty, except for two waitresses heavily engrossed in a conversation, one of them , facing us. We then waited by the reservation desk and looked over in the direction of the staff who continued talking . We thought maybe at some point a hostess, or the manager would approach us . We had a quick question as to how late they were serving , we were there around 8:00pm. After no acknowledgement from anyone, and after ackwardly looking around, my wife walked in the direction of the waitresses . One of them broke off to greet us , but we sensed possibly that we may be inconvenienceing her . We asked how late they were open , and the response was appropriate, but slightly distant . My brief thought in that moment was we can all at times have a off day, but it's important to remember that first positive impressions can set the tone for a good customer experience. I have eaten here several times and have enjoyed the food and service , ...I don't expect anyone to stand at the ready for my entrance, however if you want to finish your story with your co-worker , please just remember that customers bring very little expectation other then to just feel welcome when they cross the threshold. Hope this visit was just bad timing on our part .

A couple of my friends showed up first, got a great table outside and ordered a couple apps to get the party started. I showed up after goodies and drinks were ordered. We started off with some chips and salsa and pountine. The chips and salsa looked good but the pountine was definitely calling my name! I love me some potatoes and these potatoes looked like they were going to be right up my alley! I dished up a good portion before my friends got some. They were kind to let me plate first cause of my new kidney. I didn't want to be too greedy so the portion I got was a few bites. Those few bites got me hooked so it was a must to get another order started. While my order of pountine was being worked on, I tried the pretzel with cheese and the hummus plate. The pretzel was perfectly salted. The cheese sauce was the perfect addition to the soft pretzel. I took a good amount of the hummus and Greek salad. The pita that came with it was a great vessel for the hummus. It was crispy with a slight chew to it. The hummus was clean tasting and rich. The Greek salad was so fresh. All the components of the salad tasted like they were just picked from the garden. You literally can't get anymore farm to table than that! It was so fresh! The second order of pountine came out. Everything about this appetizer was delicious! I love soggy, softer fries and these fries were the business! The gravy and cheese were the highlight of the dish for me. You can never go wrong with potatoes, cheese and gravy! There was a good amount of meat on the pountine. It was so tender! You can tell it was cooked with a lot of love and time! I took the rest home and I plan on hiding my box in the back of my fridge so my daughter can't get to it! We ended our happy hour with the beignets. Each one of these goodies were covered in powered sugar. The caramel sauce that was paired with it was devine! In all honesty, as full as I was, I could have polished off an order myself! They were the perfect dessert to end this fabulous meal. Bittercreek has been on my to go list for a hot minute. I'm so happy we got to come here and celebrate my birthday. The food was marvelous. Our server did a fantastic job taking care of us! Our waters were always filled. Our cocktails were never dry. And our plates were always filled cause food was always ordered on time for us. Homie was on point tonight! The venue can't be any more stunning. The weather was lovely. We were meant to be here today! In so happy we started my birthday week off at Bittercreek!

If the weather is cooperating, sit outside. The beer selection is impressive, with a great range of lagers and ales. We had our eye on one particular light, crisp option, but they were out for the night. Our server pointed us toward something comparable... I believe it was called Teddy Bearnd...it worked. Now, the food. My friend went for one of their signature burgers, which was seasoned simply so the beef really gets to shine. The only hiccup was that they were out of tomatoes, which is a non-negotiable topping for her, so keep that in mind if tomatoes are a must. I went a different route and ordered the beef focaccia. Uniquely layered ribeye and really good. We also shared a Greek salad that was simple but fresh and satisfying. And the french fries with their homemade ketchup? Don't skip em. Service was smooth and friendly from start to finish. No complaints.

You can't beat happy hour vibes and birthday celebrations in one visit. Talk about a win win! I was that weird customer and got here exactly at 3 when they opened. To be honest with you, I loved that I got to spec out the bar area before everyone showed up. I got to appreciate the beautiful richness of the bar. It's just stunning. The red just makes the vibe sexy, mysterious and romantic. The tables were all beautifully lit with table lamps. I see people just falling in love with each other over a romantic cocktail here. I didn't really check out the dining area but if the bar area is this romantic, I can only imagine the other half of this joint. Cameron took care of us tonight. While I was waiting for the others to show up, I got myself a coke zero and chilled. I did peep out the menu and of course the happy hour menu. I knew we were in for a real treat. After the girls showed up, an old fashioned and a couple glasses of wine were ordered. And of course we got some food started! Oysters, fried caprese and shrimp cocktail. I know this food line up was going to be banger. One by one our food was coming out. Each appetizer was prettier than the plate before it. The shrimp cocktail was elegantly plated. The fried caprese was delicately garnished with herbs, tomatoes and a balsamic glaze. The oysters looked like they were just brought from the ocean fresh. Presentation was on point. I had to pass on the oysters. I don't eat oysters but I also can't have it cause of the new kidney. But from what I heard, the oysters were fantastic. I started off with the fried caprese, so good! The bread crumbs on the outside were savory and crunchy. The mozzarella in the middle was creamy and slightly melted. With the tomatoes, herbs and glaze in each bite...... wow. The ultimate flavor combo! Sweet, salty, cheesey and crunchy. To only have was hard cause I could have polished all 4! The shrimp cocktail was perfectly halved. Sprinkles of capers and microgreens added some earthy tones to the plate. I appreciate that they were sliced in half. It was easier to eat. I was able to cover each slice with some cocktail sauce. There was a nice heat from the horseradish that wasn't overwhelming. Enough to tickle your nose but not make you blackout. The fresh bread did make an appearance while we were eating. Better late than not getting fresh bread at all! The bread was out of the oven warm. I took a nice piece and slapped some butter on it. Fresh bread and butter will always be the best combo. I love the saltiness from the seasonings on top. It was soft, warm and crusty. I could have came here for a huge chunk of warm bread and left happy. That bread was killer. Cameron was great and got my friend, Laura a piece of limoncello cake for her birthday. Laura saved me a chunk of that slice of heaven. I was outside on a phone call when they started working on it. Grateful my friend was kind and shared her cake with me. Woooooooooww. We were making jokes about saying it would be our birthday every week so we can come in for limoncello cake. It was the perfect dessert to end our meal. I'm so happy we got to come in tonight. Food was chef's kiss. Cameron did a marvelous job taking care of us girls. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. And I loved how diverse the crowd was. The vibe was truly one of a kind unique. I look forward to coming back with my husband and having a romantic dinner here. I got the fun, light hearted happy hour experience. My next visit will most definitely be a romantic dinner with my husband kind of visit. I can't wait!
