Fun bar, not a great arcade. I love the concept and this place has a lot going for it: good location, good menu, great variety of games, fun people watching. I'm not an arcade snob by any means, but even I could tell that these machines are poorly maintained. I probably lost between 10-20% of my tokens/quarters because the machine ate them without giving me credit. The first time it happened, I thought "huh, guess I won't play this one again". But then it happened again on several other machines. Even more disappointing was the pinball. I love pinball, and know enough to understand that pinball machines require regular maintenance. Every single pinball machine I tried at Barcade had either weak flippers or weak ball launcher, and most had both of these, to the point that gameplay was definitely affected. Even more bizarrely, several of their pinball machines are bolted to the wall (!?). Pinball machines should always float slightly and are designed to be jostled during advanced play; I've never seen or heard of an arcade doing this. If I end up going back, I'll enjoy my beer/snacks and maybe spend a couple bucks on quarters for the classic video games, but will save my gamin' money to go elsewhere for a better arcade experience. read more

One of the coolest arcade bars I've ever been to! From the outside, I didn't expect it to be as big of a space as it was. Great selection of retro games that I haven't really seen anywhere else, and tokens can go a long way since most games only take one or two. The front and back bar area are connected by a long hallway lined with machines, which is also where the bathrooms are. The back bar was closed when we went, but we came by on a Sunday night so it wasn't busy. It's a perfect date night/hangout spot. Music isn't loud, with the main bar side being more dimly lit with more machines, and the other bar side having more light and a good amount of tables to chairs to talk and eat if you ordered food. Bartenders are friendly and helpful. My go-to is a Moscow mule - my drink was just okay, but it was strong so I didn't mind, haha. My partner ordered a beer from their draft menu and it was actually really good (coming from someone that isn't a fan of beer). I loved how there were small shelves in between the machines so you always had a spot to put your drink down. The parking lot is tiny so you'd be lucky to find a spot in there. We didn't have any trouble finding a street spot down the block, though. Highly recommend, would love to come back another time to try their food! read more

The bartenders were on point. My boot hits the bar and in no more than 10 seconds to be helped, and 30 seconds for a drink in hand. The games are all maintained well and my party and I played half the games inside. 5/5 for the X men game alone and the selection of arcade booths and pinball machines is great. We did have trouble with the Godzilla pinball but. after asking for help from a technician who was already working on a different machine, he fixed the problem immediately. Shout out to the awesome staff. The clothes are also nice and I regret not buying the baseball T. I will be coming back here again and again, thank you Barcade staff for a wonderful experience. read more

A group of friends and I came here for New Years Eve after reading overwhelmingly positive reviews of the establishment. Upon entering, you're immediately captivated by the dozens of retro arcade games, bright/vibrant colors, and relaxed vibes! The food was reasonably priced and exceptionally good, especially the fries! So tasty! Barcade offers countless arcade games to keep you busy for awhile while not breaking the bank at all. Our group used about $10 and it lasted for quite a while as the games are predominantly only 1-2 tokens each to play. In addition, there are 2 full-service bars and a large drink menu to explore. I will say that our drinks were a little pricey, so that's my only gripe. All in all, it was a great first experience and we'll be returning in the future! read more

Broken machines galore! It's like Vegas gambling because you don't know if your tokens will actually make the machines operate. I get that it's primarily a bar but the main draw is the amazing arcade games. Today I got totally ripped off on their Mr. Do and Lucky and Wild machines. I get that it's 75 cents but come on... can't you guys put an "out of order" sign or just turn the machines off if you know they don't work? Really disappointed. read more

Known as a 21 and over place, I do have to appreciate their monthly family days on Sundays because Barcade is a great place for parents and kids to hang out together. Plenty of games for the kids and plenty of drinks for the parents. Service is quick and the comfort food is what you expect to find at a bar. With burgers, fries, tat-or tots and vegan items, the menu covers all. I follow their family events on Facebook and it's a great way to spend a few hours on a Sunday! read more

I unknowingly lost an expensive silk scarf in the bathroom and by the time I realized it when I got home, I called the bar and the bartender was nice enough to check outside and in the bathroom where he eventually found it, and held it until I drove down to retrieve it. It's very hit or miss here, depending on who's working the shift. I tend to usually go here during weekend (sat or sun) mid day. It's never really busy here at these times, so one would think good service during these times is easy right? It really depends on the staff who's working that day. Sometimes, you'll get great attentive service and a bartender who actually knows how to make a drink, have good conversations with staff and is professional & polite. This last visit, I stood at the bar for 15min with my wallet in hand on the bar, while the 2 bartenders just sat there and chatted with their friends on the other side of the bar pretty much ignoring us (yet made eye contact with me a couple times). Finally she made her way to me, and i got a margarita, $15 for a tiny 4oz glass and it ended up tasting like a gin and tonic.... Some people really aren't meant be in the service industry, seriously. It's bad enough they make customers feel low priority...but can't even make a basic premade cocktail. I drank my drink quickly, and just left. After this experience, I don't think I'll bother with this place anymore. read more

This is a bar + arcade in one. It's got some really fun old- school type games like street fighter, Pac-Man, driving & shooting games, etc. it doesn't have everything you'd see at a Dave Busters though (no basketball shooting games for example). They had lots of beers and a ok cocktail menu. We had the wings, slides, tacos and fried cauliflower - they are pretty standard bar food. The music is on the loud side so not great for conversations. We were here around 6 on a Tuesday evening and it was pretty empty. read more

The barcade is awesome with a great selection of drinks, games, and food. However, the staff are rude and project their insecurities. I asked for a 'honey beer' and mentioned it was the 2nd option to the right and the bartender pictured said loudly 'What!?' with an aggressive and assertive tone. I didn't recognize the name of the beer and mentioned it was the blonde beer draft that's shaped like a honeycomb. She cut me off and started preparing the drink. I then asked about purchasing tokens and she replied sharply in a non-helpful tone. I calmly told her 'you may not be familiar with how you come across but you are acting very rude towards me'- she cut me off and mentioned it was like pulling teeth to place my order. My husband and I have been coming here for a few times now usually during lunch. And we always have a good time. They have a decent selection of old school arcade games like mortal combat, pacman, street fighter, and bubble bobble. Our favorite is bubble bobble. Brings me back to the old school days when I used to play that game on Nintendo. Anyways, they have a great selection of craft beers. Before 7pm, their happy hour is $1 off beers. They also have a nice lunch special where you can get a sandwich and a beer for $15. Not bad. But it's only good for lunch until 4 pm. Prices here though can get pricey. Best to come before 7pm to take advantage of the happy hour prices. They have limited parking but plenty of street parking. If you want a place to chill, this is it. security was extremely hostile towards me 9pm 06/16 he really just ruined my night. he fucking sucks, please find a new one. I was just picking up food to go and I had my little dog and could pay thru the app and literally just needed someone to bring it out to me and I had to call from outside to get help. I feel dehumanized and triggered and he was unreasonably hostile and aggressive even though I am a feminine woman. I've been in a few times and always had a good time. Inside is a pretty large space with 2 big rooms. Only a few tables in each room so seating is limited. They got a decent selection of games with some old school favorites like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and X-Men. My only complaint is there's no Time Crisis. They could easily get another $10 out of me with that one. The food and drinks are pretty darn good too. Great selection of beers, more than 20 on draft! $1 off beers before 7pm. Food is the gastropub type. Definitely recommend the short rib poutine and their huge pretzel. Service is great. Really friendly staff that likes to talk beer. This is a great spot for a fun date or night out with friends. There's a small lot on the side but plenty of street parking up and down the block. read more

In a nutshell: Miranda was an excellent bartender. The games cheap. The Fried pickles a surprising delight. The Buffalo Cauliflower needs to be eaten immediately before it gets soggy real quick. The Vegan Chili Fries were a miss. With a full bar, many beers on tap and a great number of classic arcade machines, Barcade is a great place for big kids who like a drink (or three) to hang. This was my first time here with a small group on a weekday night (for our holiday party), and Barcade offered a cozy inviting environment with enough space for this somewhat raucous group to spread out. The likes of Rampage, Speed Racer, Pac-Man Battle Royale, Tetris and X-Men gave us the option to play individually, in pairs or groups. You can play a good number of games with less than $20 in tokens (which can be got from the machine or added to your tab). With Happy hour prices before 7pm and vaccination status checked, Barcade was a great hangout for this particular group of lads. This place is just altogether a delight. Even when they're super busy, everyone who works there is so kind! They have a good variety of beer options, plus some fun cocktails. The food is absurdly good and it's not *cheap* but it is definitely reasonably priced for the quality, plus the kitchen is quick with the turnaround time! They definitely manage to provide some awesome retro arcade vibes while also feeling unpretentious, it's a chill place to hang out! As far as game selection, I love the variety they have but I am admittedly not an arcade expert. We were looking for something to do to kill some time before a show nearby. We got $20 worth of tokens and were able to spend 3/4 of that in a little over an hour. First time going to Barcade. The experience was pretty good. Drinks are reasonably priced. I didn't get to try the food. My hubby and I had just had dinner we had no room for food. From what I noticed they had a pretty good selection on food options. They have vegan options ax well which is a plus for me. We had two drinks each. My first drink was a cocktail called Magic Sunglasses. It wasn't the greatest, but it was ok. 2nd drink was a good cider. My husband had Lost Coast IPA. He said it was good. As for entertainment, there are a lot of arcade machines to play on. They only take tokens, so you either have to withdraw money from their ATM or take some dollar bills to exchange them for tokens on their token machine. We will definitely be going back. read more

First off the bartenders here have the most gracious attitudes and work around my spirits and what I want to drink but while they're giving me great service and pointers on what I should eat I notice the patrons around me tipping maybe a dollar or two. This place with their food and awesome drinks should just be offering everything with a 20% tip.
