Tbh, I think the prices are a bit steep for food from a truck. All of their menu items are priced starting at $15 or higher. Today I purchased garlic parmesan fries from their truck during my lunch break since it was parked outside my work building. Needless to say, the fries were super oily and made my stomach hurt afterwards. I wanted to get some fries to fill me up after finishing the lunch that I had packed for myself only to realize that I paid $8 for fries that looked and tasted comparable to McDonald's fries if I'm being completely honest. Also, the cashier guy who took my order didn't seem very pleasant to talk to either when taking my order. And surprisingly, they didn't even have ranch available for the fries either. First time trying this spot and the service was very quick, I received my food in less than 5 minutes. Tried the chimichurri steak & fries, they asked how I'd like the steak cooked and I said medium rare. The steak came out more medium well but overall taste was good. I ordered the chicken quesadilla which came with sour cream, salsa, guacamole, and the quesadilla was cut in four ways, came with chicken and 2 types of cheese melted. It's such a shame when food trucks price gouge without even making up for the price, then again, I guess that's what "price gouging" means. Barcelona OnTheGo was parked at the Anaheim Convention Center over the weekend during Star Wars Celebration. A few years ago, I enjoyed a breakfast burrito from this truck for under $10 that not only satisfied my appetite, but my taste buds too. But now, they charge $13.50 for a tiny burrito that is flavorless, barely full, and they don't even give out the right orders. We ordered a bacon breakfast burrito and given a chorizo burrito. It's not something you can tell until you actually open or bite into it because nothing is marked on the foil wrapping. One scrambled egg, a miniscule amount of flavorless, cheap, fatty chorizo, soggy fries, a dry tortilla, and canned salsa. No self respecting chef would serve this and it's clear the owner and chef of this truck has lost respect for himself and food. read more

I ordered this at the Honda Center and WOW it was delicious. The ingredients were fresh, the food was the perfect portion to fill me up, and it's probably my favorite meal I've had there. The crispy tortilla strips on top really added a fun crunch rather than typical croutons. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price. The salad below was $15 and my bottled water was $5. It was a lot of money for a smaller street food portion and if I hadn't been limited in options at the Honda Center I probably would have eaten elsewhere. read more

Barcelona OntheGo catered lunch at my company and were serving chicken paella. The small lunch box consisted of some leafy greens with a vinaigrette and chicken paella. The Spanish rice was flavorful with a hint of saffron and aromatic spices. The chicken pieces incorporated in the dish were tender and tasted great. Overall I really enjoyed the paella, however I wish the portion was double the size. The size was more of a snack for me than lunch and didn't fill me up. I'm glad to see that they offered a paella without pork as their normal food truck menu incorporates chorizo in the paella. Today is their first time at 19 Corp Plaza in Newport Beach. Their signature dish, Steak Chimichurri taste good. Fries were done perfectly. They asked how I wanted my steak. I said medium rare and I got medium done. Their Chimichurri sauce taste good but it's machine blended. This messes up the texture abit but the flavor is there. I'd venture to guess the prices were a little inflated Above normal as I assume they had to pay a pretty penny to be there. That being said, the food itself was good. I had shrimp tacos. The value, however, was awful. I paid $10 for 2 shrimp tacos, where each taco only had 3 medium size shrimp in them. The total was $17.00 for two really small items =/ I know food trucks are all pretty expensive, but for the price I have higher exceptions and I was under the impression that I had pay more for superior quality =/ however this was completely disappointing... First off, I LOVE quesadillas... and sadly I felt as though I would have been happier with a del taco quesadilla than this one. I know they used prime steak as an ingredient to elevate the flavors, but I didn't think it really tied in with the caramelized onions, blue cheese, and monterrey jack cheese too well. I like these ingredients but I don't think they went together that well in this item. And in regards to the fries, Denise K and I both agreed that the garlic-thyme aioli was the only thing impressive about the item. I think it is fair to say I won't be coming back. Long wait time... 25min+ They were one of 2 food vendors for a jiu jitsu event, so I understand being busy. At the time they only had 3 people running the food truck, one taking orders, one refilling sauces and one cook, the other ran too smart and final for more food and bagged frozen fries. (I seen him return with the goods) the turn around time got better once the fourth person got there but man o man, bad timing for me. I'm one lady waited almost 30 min for Nacho chips with guacamole as the only topping. She was really upset. The soda cans were covered in dirt, and the chicken had no flavor. In fact, the item that keeps me coming back in the top sirloin with the chimichurri sauce and fries. I finally got the opportunity to try Barcelona at Forest Lanes tonight. It was freezing cold and the Mac 'n' Cheese sounded appealing. While placing my order I had a great chat with the owner's daughter or at least I think it's her. Whenever I am at a food truck round up or the like at the Great Park this truck never fails to always be around. I never liked it. I don't know why. I love Spanish food, but one glance at their menu and I was highly unamused. Nothing looked particularly special. I told myself that as long as there were other food trucks around, I would never eat at this one. Well, that did not last very long. Half of everything was sold out... the things that looked fairly tasty: Chorizo Grilled Cheese, Spanish Sausage Sandwich, Bacon Wrapped Dates ... you name it. Most of it was gone. So I was left with a couple of options and ended up getting the Steak Quesadillas and Potato Frittatas. Well I waited. And waited and waited and waited. I guess I couldn't blame them -- they had a TON of customers compared to all of the other trucks. It still took a while though... and time slows down for hungry Yelpers. Four minutes felt like an hour. The food finally came out. I'll admit, it didn't look too shabby, but it didn't look AMAAAAAAZING either. I sat down and took a bite out of the quesadilla. It was good... the steak was juicy and the cheesy was ooey gooey - just the way I like it - but it was nothing I haven't had before. Got there at 12 noon and there was no line - only a couple of guys waiting for their food, which is a nice surprse cuz Im not digging the Kogi lines. Guy was really nice, told me they had run out of Paella. Dang it thats what I wanted , and it would be 35 mins for him to make more. Ok well I got a couple of the croquettes, and a couple of the Empanadas. The empanadas were good. I didnt care too much for the croquettes. The croquettes were a bit mushy, fell apart as I was eating it. Just so people know the Croquettes come with 2 in every order as do the empanadas. Both $5 each order. I don't care what anyone says, the Spanish Paella is good. I've ordered it 3 times on separate occasions and every time, I couldn't stop eating it. Maybe it isn't authentic, maybe it isn't as good as a Spanish Moms kitchen, but It's really good. I've also tried the steak and chimichurri fries. This was just bland and the steak tasted like fumes. I was honestly very disappointed. Maybe it was just that day that it wasn't cooked that well and marinated. Maybe I'll come back and try them again and hopefully have a better experience with these fries. The pictures on here make them look delicious. This truck is at my work every Wednesday. I've ordered a couple of times, food is usually just ok. Nothing to write home about, but the tacos are generally good. Today my daughter and I went down and she got the steakhouse quesadilla which she usually likes. Today however she said something didn't taste right...it just tasted "off" somehow. It was also pretty burnt in many spots (see picture). She actually ended up throwing up her food almost immediately after eating it. Not saying it was the quesadilla, but she was perfectly fine before she ate it. I got the 2 steak tacos. The tacos were ok, but carne asada/steak is hard to keep from drying out in situations like this so I take that into account. For a $22 lunch I think I'll skip Barcelona moving forward. read more
