Went for dinner, sat at the bar, Denilson was our bartender and service was good. We tried the house margarita, half frozen and half rocks. The margarita machine was not freezing well so, we didn't really get the have a true half and half margarita. We started with a small chili con queso, it was creamy and warm, could've been warmer though. We wanted street tacos, corn tortillas with beef fajita, cilantro and onions, but that is not an option. We tried explaining to our server what we were talking about, but the language barrier made it difficult. I googled street tacos and showed him, he said they don't have street tacos. How? Why not? Anyways, we settled for mini beef fajita chimichangas, he brought us cilantro and onions... nothing close to a true street taco. Nice bar, nice patio outside, and large restaurant. read more

We decided to try this place because the nachos looked great in the pictures, but this was our first and last visit. The service was awful--after 15 minutes, no one even bothered to take our order. It wasn't busy at all, with only about three tables occupied, so there's really no excuse. The salsa was terrible, and the margarita was nothing special. To make it worse, we paid $19 for one margarita, one tea, and one lemonade--completely overpriced for the quality and experience. We ended up walking out and going to San Lorenzos, where the service was spot on and the food was actually good. read more

Margarita is very good, not too sweet. Why is there a dog inside the restaurant and barking? Very nice weather day, pets should be limited to outdoor patio. read more

Stopped in for the first time last week on the way home. I have to say we were impressed. The employees were genuinely friendly. Great job! We felt like regulars, and we probably will be. We started off with margaritas. They were ok, wasn't a huge fan of the house mix but it wasn't bad. Really could have used some fresh lime juice. The chips and salsa were enjoyable. We tried the red salsa and 2 different green ones. Both of the green ones were great. One of them had a fantastic tomatillo flavor with a jalapeño kick. We also ordered the beef quesadillas $20, a crunchy beef taco $5 and an a la cart beef taco carbon $8. No complaints, everything was very good. Prices are comparable to the other Mexican restaurants in the area. If you haven't been, I'd recommend giving them a try. read more

Rox: so happy to find a spot in the neighborhood that does breakfast all day! Service was quick and great and they actually had a spicy salsa. We'll definitely be back! Huevos a la mexicana were great and beans were tasty too. Solid marg as well. Didn't get pics of everything as we were a tad hungover :) Mike: Huge chilaquiles fan and these were top notch even for being verde as I prefer red, but they were delicious and spicy! Great service, bar with Astros, Rockets, or Texans on always. Margaritas top shelf are great half frozen half on the rocks with tajin on the rim, friendly staff great vibes. I've been going to Barcenas' original location for about 20 years now. So, glad they opened one on Marina Bay. The chicken quesadillas is also great as well as their charro beans and rice. I would also say their enchiladas are probably the best in the area as well, beef chicken or cheese. But, u always get Lulu's nachos. read more

I visited there with 2 friends last week and the overall experience was pleasant. Our server was attentive and friendly. Food was average, nothing stood out to any of us. I ordered the chimichanga and it was very dry and tasteless (scratch that one off the list). I ended up taking the chicken out of the tortilla and dosing the chicken with salsa. Speaking of salsa...it was all very good! Loved the green sauce. Chips were good too. My only complaint is why do these places give you teeny tiny itty bitty "bowls" of salsa where you can't even dip a chip into. So frustrating. And then you have to ask the waiter to bring more tiny bowls constantly. Just bring people a real bowl of salsa and she the frustration. It's just dumb. Overall it was ok and we will be back but will be asking for bowls of salsa this time lol read more

Can't wrap my head around why the food is so expensive here. My husband and I split tacos al carbon, which was $23 for three tacos with some chopped up steak and rice and beans. They tasted good but for that price I would have expected something amazing. Nothing on the menu seemed reasonably priced to me. read more

This is some of the best Tex-Mex in the area !!! Cheese enchiladas are perfectly rich with cheese and chili gravy ... fajitas super flavorful!! Homemade tortillas!! Staff is always super sweet ... I can't believe this place isn't packed everyday !! read more

Great atmosphere, even better food and service. Margaritas are on point. Just my opinion, better than the Friendswood location.

My wife and I were on a Labor Day get away and drove by this place a few times but not knowing what type a food that was served. The patio lights caught our attention and we pulled in to take a closer look. The lunch specials on the door caught our eye and looked like a nice place and made the decision to check this place out. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was relaxing and the customer service was over the top. I recommend this place for the locals and we'll visit when we're down this way next time. read more

Gotta say this by far is one of the cleanest Barcenas locations I've ever gone to. The staff was super kind and friendly. The staff also made sure drinks were topped off at all times and the food was perfect. Definitely recommend this place if you like good quality mexican food and good service. read more

WAY TOO OVERPRICED!! You'll pay $12 for a kids meal corn dog with fries and a soft drink. Every single item was priced outrageous. The food and service was good. But NOT worth anywhere near what they charge. The atmosphere is mediocre too with weird fluorescent lighting. Won't be returning. read more

Really wanted to like this place because of the convenient location. The first time we went the salsa was very good and, finally a restaurant with a spicy salsa! The next time we went the salsa was still good, but my husband was underwhelmed by the beef fajitas and I found my crispy beef tacos to be bland and very greasy. We gave them one more (and final) chance. The salsa is now super bland with no spice. I asked for beans on my breakfast tacos and they loaded the top of the tacos with beans instead of putting the beans on the tortilla first like literally anyone else would do. My husband order fajita chicken tacos that were bland and dry. Over $40 for a meal that was not worth $20. I'm giving two stars instead of one because the staff is very friendly. read more
