But, because there were only two employees there was a bit of a wait. We told them we could come back, but they urged us that they had time. The women work really hard and I feel badly giving a negative review, because the main issue was the lack of staff and support. It took over 2 hours from start to finish for a mani/pedi and by the end I was so ready to go that I didn't even fully finish my nails. Once your hands and feet are partly painted you're sort of stuck (which may be on purpose). By the time I left, my nails were not the color I wanted, and my toes smudged, but because it had been so long and was past dinner time, with other people waiting, I was just ready to be done and go home. I'm sad to say that Win Nails did not win me over.

To make matters worse, there was still the possibility of being charged a cancellation or no-show fee despite never receiving proper confirmation. When customers book an appointment, they should not have to spend their day chasing down a response or wondering whether the appointment is actually happening. If you are not available to honor a time slot, it should not be listed as available. Advertising discounted openings, failing to confirm them in a timely manner, and then placing the burden on the customer is unprofessional and frustrating. I would not book here again.

I walked in without appointment greeted with a smile and waited no more than 5 mins. The staff were all very nice, pedicure chairs comfortable, good choices of colors and equipment clean. I can appreciate that they do not try to upsell additional services and I usually add paraffin wax. Price is reasonable, they have water, sodas and pastries (85 c) came in handy as snack, since I hadn't had anything to eat because it was not a planned appointment. They play spa relaxing music conducive to relax, enjoy short down time . I can appreciate that the salon did not smell like nail polish . NINA gives absolutely the BEST pedicure ever. She is very thorough and careful and I'm so happy that my toe nail growth improved dramatically looks so much better because of her skilled hands and care. The place was near empty with 1 or 2 other clients who were apparently new clients too. They would get 1 client trickling in at a time. They offered us beverages right away. I and another client from across laughed when my nail tech offered my 8 year old cocktails. My daughter asked what the drink options were and the nail tech listed all of them off the top of her head not realizing she said "cocktails" to an 8 year old. I'm sure it was by mistake so we all laughed it off but I honestly didn't think the nail tech realized because she was so serious and still repeated the same when asked a second time. It was then when I realized that there was going to be a language barrier between us. This should have been our first red flag. I was quoted 40 mins over the phone but actually stayed there for approximately 2 hours because she worked on my feet first before working on my hands. Every nail salon I've been to in the past would have two nail techs working at the same time and if they weren't able to... they'd let you know beforehand in case your time was limited. I kept thinking the 2nd nail tech would show up any minute to work on my hands but that never happened. I should have cancelled. Lesson learned. The whole experience just didn't cut it for us. Two of my other family members felt the same way because they were cut. The technicians weren't skilled enough to pay careful attention to the vulnerable spots IMO. The cuts were really deep after closer inspection. Sadly, it was their very first time getting a mani-pedi so they left with a negative view on all nail salons in general. I still tried to be optimistic and understanding because we were there for my daughter. We didn't want to waste more time searching for another nail salon. If it had been for me, I'd have left because I've had terrible experiences before with bad communication and language barriers. You would think all you need is a good clear photo of what you want and they would be able to execute it or at least find someone who is able to or be upfront and let me know you're not able to. That did not happen for me here. This will definitely be our last time getting work done anywhere where there is an obvious language barrier. The nail tech could have told me she didn't know how to execute what I wanted off the photo I showed her. I also hate it when nail techs take on something they can't execute well. I felt as though she didn't fully understand what I wanted because she kept asking to see the photo. I eventually told her politely to forget about the 3D design. I wouldn't have felt comfortable anyway seeing the look of confusion on her face after seeing the photo for the 5th or 6th time. In hind sight, I was actually glad I didn't get the designs because her work was too sloppy and she didn't seem skilled enough to do the type of design I wanted. When she failed on the nail shaping, that was a clear indication for me to avoid everything else. I had to re-file all my nails when I got home too. Another red flag was when she gave me stiletto nails instead of the rounded almond shape. This bothered me a great deal because I showed her the picture and I didn't understand how she could have confused or mistaken the shapes. I literally pulled up a photo of the nails from their own Yelp page to show her. It got me thinking if any of those photos are even theirs. She eventually re-filed my nails to get somewhat close to the shape I wanted but by then she had already wasted more time. I kept my cool and tried to be calm about it. I repeated to myself, "She's trying her best. She's a nice person and you're a nice person. Just help her out." I even tipped her $20 despite not being happy with my results among other reasons. I knew we were never going to return so there was no point in having her re-do, fix, or escalate. I was already running late so I just wanted her to be done with it. I am only sharing my experience so that others who share the same quality standards as me are informed of what they can possibly expect here. I'm going to assume there are probably some experienced nail techs here SOLELY BASED ON some of their posted Yelp photos, given they're legit photos of work done by the nail techs of this salon... which was what brought me here with my family. However, after all of our experiences combined... I doubt it. As a tip, I recommend judging work based off actual client's photos posted by the clients, than photos posted by the business. When you have the word "luxury" in your business name, I'm going to expect luxury. Unfortunately, this nail salon did not fit my knowledge and idea of "luxury". It's a cute and cozy place but far from what I consider "luxury". Nothing personal against them, but we won't be back even if they offered 40% off.

My nails came out cute and they were economical with their time, while not feeling rushed. I always see this place when I stop into Patsy's next door for a drink and/or karaoke and/or trivia, but never thought to stop in. I appreciated how much she care she put into my nails to make sure they not only looked great in the art but feel great in the nail care, despite the challenge. I made an appt online easily and did wait some extra time because they were busy. The staff was generous, gave me water, and I came on a day where I had the extra time so it was no problem for me. The place itself was clean and pleasant to be in. My visit was about $90 without tip. I'm looking forward to going back.
