Four asians walk into a nail salon. One was a a yelper, another was a barely heard of yelp. The other has never heard of yelp and lastly my uncle wants to know what's "a yelp" How we doing so far? I was in town and headed towards Orange County's greatest tourist attraction-Southcoast plaza- of course. But can't head down to every credit card's great's hits parade with old manicure? I mean what will people at the LV think when I pull out my prepaid wal-mart master card? Anyway, it was a warm Thursday afternoo and the shop had one person who was getting a pedicure. My manicurist was lovey and very funny. She did a great job with my nails and pedicure. They were very patient and kind with my sister who kept changing her mind on what color nail polish-after they painted them on her nails. Yes, she's the that pain in the Arse customer and I question my DNA. Would definitely come back again next time I'm in the area. read more

As far as making appt they are very accomadating. The staff interacts with you rather than just with each other as and they speak English. They work quickedly and do an excellent job and don't try to sell you upgrades. Their prices are in line with most other nail spas. read more

Warning they will break your nails!!!!!!!!!! Came in on my birthday with my natural nails. As seen in photo.... I take very good care of my nails and never let anyone but myself do them. I came in on a Friday and was told that lei would be doing my GEL MANICURE. I DO NOT DO ACRYLIC as it is very damaging for my nails. I came in to do a design on my nails by a specific nail tech unfortunately, she was not available. So I was willing to take a different nail tech however, I would not be allowing her to do a design on my nails as I'm not familiar with her skills. When I told le I would not being doing a design she got increasingly annoyed with me and started speaking bad about me in her language. (I Google Translated what they were saying) she called me cheap! As she started to work on my nails my right pointer finger nail snapped from how aggressive she was being. I was extremely upset and just tired at this point. She said she would fix it later. Later came and she began painting over the nail in gel as usual. So I asked her how she plans to fix it, she said Ill file it later... I looked at her and asked if she was going to leave it uneven and shorter than the rest of the nails. She said I'll file it and you'll see.... See what you BROKE my nail?! Not once did she apologize! She claimed it wasnt her fault it broke it just did.... My nails were in perfect condition when I came in. I stopped my service for less than 2 seconds to take a picture of the break... she was EXTREMELY annoyed by this. As if she didn't actually snap my natural nail in half. She start to file the nail and of course it looked terrible... genuinely. She rolled her eyes and said if I wanted them longer she can do acrylic on one finger but it would be $5. I just laughed at her in her face and said... thats fine I will pay it, but remember that YOU broke MY nail and YOU are responsible for fixing it. She did the acrylic and poorly!!! Left all types of gunk under my nail. Safe to say I didnt tip her. Reminder to your nail techs, it's 2026!!! We have google translate and can understand you guys When you break a customers natural nail, you should be profusely apologizing and aiming to fix the problem not charge me more like a thief! read more

I went to three different nail salons before I found this place and all I can say is that a good nail salon can truly turn your entire mood around! The staff was amazing- extremely friendly kind, and helpful, gel manicures and pedicures were reasonably priced, and wonderful quality. I recently had a baby so my nails have taken a hit. Kelly not only gave me a great manicure, but also fortified my nails, which are thinning out! Parking is easy, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Thank you guys! read more

I normally don't get my nails done, but I decided to treat myself and found this salon just down the street from where I live--so it felt like a perfect, convenient option. I called a few hours ahead to let them know what time I'd be stopping by that afternoon. Unfortunately, my experience didn't meet expectations. When I arrived, no one greeted me right away. It took a few minutes before any of the staff acknowledged I was even there. Once I was noticed, I gave them my name and was taken to a nail station near the entrance, where my technician, Amy, was waiting. I showed Amy a reference photo of the acrylic full set I wanted. The picture featured 10 different nail tip colors, ranging from cool to warm tones. However, Amy only allowed me to choose 5 colors, without offering the option to pay more for the full 10-color design as shown. I wasn't happy with that limitation, and I also clearly stated I wanted regular polish--not gel. At one point, a male manager came over and noticed the five polish colors on the table. Amy and the manager began speaking in their native language, which normally doesn't bother me--but what made me uncomfortable was when Amy explained to him (in their language) that I didn't want gel polish. The manager immediately switched to English and asked me, "Why don't you want gel polish?" It felt like a pressure tactic, and the interaction made me feel uneasy. After the polish was applied, Amy directed me to sit near the entrance to dry my nails under a table fan. The seating was uncomfortable, and because my nails were still wet, I couldn't adjust the chair. I sat there for about 15 minutes, unsure if my nails were drying properly. I eventually noticed that one of my nail tips had smudged due to the fan, so I showed it to Amy. She looked at it and told me she didn't see anything wrong, despite the visible flaw. I had to repeatedly point it out until another technician nearby stepped in and helped fix it. All in all, this experience was disappointing. I didn't feel heard or respected as a customer, and I was made uncomfortable on multiple occasions. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this salon to friends or family. read more

I am still going to this nail salon every two weeks and I get beautiful service there. You won't find me at another nail salon, this is it for me. These people are so loving and kind. They have me in and out of there with a mani/pedi/ eyebrows within an hour. They treat me like I'm their best friend every time I'm there. It's these little things that make such a difference. My daughter and I booked main/pedis here while we were on vacation. This was the best place either of us have been to. We especially loved the amazing choice of colors to choose from. These people are racist, I've been going to this salon for almost 2 yrs and they never address me by my name which they should know since I work across the parking lot. I came in recently to get a gel x however two older gentlemen came in for pedicures while I waited in the spa chair for over 30 mins while they serviced the two men.. I was floored, ultimately I walked out!! Good luck in getting good service and treatment. By the way, I'm an African American female. read more

Have been here three times so far. The first time I came, the experience was excellent. I came back two weeks later, and the experience and quality of manicure and pedicure was okay. The third time I came, it was better than the second time, but not as good as the first visit. I guess I need to figure out which person is good and stick with them because the quality does vary greatly by person. read more

My Mom and I have been going here for 3-4 years. Mom will only let Lynn take care of her. Lynn always is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL WITH MY MOM!!!At 94 Mom is set in her ways Maily is my Pedicure Lady. Always spot on with my feet I love her job every time May does my nails. Terrible services! I asked for chrome and they did whatever they wanted to do in order to try to make more money. I told Kevin I never asked for anything extra the lady doing my nails got upset and didn't even care to file after she put the polish on. I would not recommend coming here at all! They talk about you as they are doing your hands and feet and the vibe is very bad. Kevin was walking around offering chocolate to everyone else and wouldn't even come near me. Mind you New Year's Eve is tomorrow and this is how they treat customers! Very unprofessional and rude! read more

I came in just as the opened with 2 customers and May doing a ped while Lynn was doing a mani. They told me to wait 20 minutes. May started my gel French mani, nicked me twice, and did not cover my tips well. A clear sogn that she does not want the nail color coverage to last the length of time the gel lasts. In other words, she wants me to return sooner so she can make more money from me. After that Lynn, starts doing my French pedicure. She also nicks me on my 2nd toe which really just made my experience painful instead of relaxing. I was wincing with every touch from then on. Both were just rushing, rushing even tough two other employees had arrived since my service started and just one more customer walked in. With no apologies, I was charged $79 for a mani- pedi. It was not a relaxing treat for me but rather a painful one with a fear of infection aftermath as I left. read more

First time I went for mani and pedi I was happy with results. Second time I went, the manicurist rushed through and didn't do a good job. The polish was streaky and didn't completely cover my nails. I had to ask to have additional coats on bot fingers and toes. Was very disappointed with her work. The next day 3 nails were chipped. I went back and really thought they would offer to change the polish with no charge, however it cost me $14 to have polish removed and new polish applied. The manicurist who did it was much better The owner, though very nice kept pushing me to get although I was very clear that I didn't want gel. Based upon my last experience I will not go back. read more

I've been coming here since they first opened and they continue to be one of the best salons in the area! The establishment is extremely clean and well maintained, plus the staff are friendly and super accommodating. I have a few favorite nail techs on rotation but they're all amazing honestly. I went to Starfish salon because my salon was closed on Sunday. 1st the lady who did my nails couldn't figure out how to do Ombre nails. Finally when she was done I didn't like it at all. When I went to pay, the owner asked me how did I like my nails and I said "alright". He answered in a little aggressive way "NO, it looks good!" I said alright then! I paid and left very unhappy. These are my nails after 1 week peeling off..I get Gel nails all the time and they never get this bad specially after 1 week. I am NEVER coming back AGAIN! read more

I had to have my nails redone at another local salon 2 days later. Acrylics were way too thick. Polish done poorly and much too far from cuticle. It looked like it was weeks old. The chrome was not shiny but had a more sparkly appearance. When I asked for a second coat of chrome to make it shiner the response was "no" Will not be going back read more

They've always held up for 3-4 weeks and I only come in once a month to see Wendy or Jay if Wendy is out of town. My pedicures have always been great as well. They've always been with a sweet lady and I always forget her name when I see her. I honestly have had a bad experience with other techs who have done my builder gel at this location. I've messaged the owner directly and there wasn't accountability taken with the tech or further communication on the situation which was a little disappointing but I understand it's just business after all. However, I haven't let my bad experience deter me from Wendy or Jay. I've had great experiences with both and will continue to see Wendy for my builder gel.
