It's all about location. That's it. It has nothing to do with the quality of the food. This is tourist trap that will always succeed due to it being right on the beach. Of course landlocked travelers like myself are going to want experience eating right by the water. Just like the annoying birds that frequent the restaurant. It was very nice to find this place during our stay in Walkiki beach. They're a complete package of good food, reasonable price, good staff and view with live music. We tried different things in the menu, my favorite was their breakfast menu, coffee is really good, whole pineapple smoothie is a must try, dinner plates and shrimps were tasty, burgers was a bit fatty for our taste but overall really good place to try. read more

The owners of this place should be ashamed to call themselves business owners. The wait was 35 minutes just to order food, and that's not counting the time it took for the food to come out. Their smoothies cost $8 for a tiny little cup. It's pathetic. It shouldn't matter that this place is on the beach or in Hawai'i. And their worst offense: CHARGING MONEY FOR A SMALL WATER CUP. How sad do you have to be as individuals to do that to your customers? I'd rather eat sand. DON'T SUPPORT THEM OR GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. They will just rip you off for subpar food. read more

Tried the ahi poke bowl and lava flow drink. As the first poke I tried on the island I was very disappointed. The tuna as lukewarm and small amount of fish with mostly rice. The drinks look really good in the pictures but did not look like that in person, didn't care much for it. Maybe it was an off day but food was not good and way overpriced. If you've never been here, it's a must! By far the best location on island to get the real island experience while having delicious food, listening to the waves and watching the surfers. During the weekends, most of the time they have live music. Been here about 20+ times and me and my parents and friends always end up coming back because the food is good and you can't be at the location. Service is also, really hard-working and kind people. Here were are in 2020 and most of our local restaurants have closed -- but these guys came up with a creative solution to keep their Friday night BBQ going. They are selling meal kits for $40 that feed two people (but the portions are so plentiful, it can easily feed 3). You order by Thursday via phone or email, pick up on Friday afternoon, and then follow along the preparation demo on Facebook live starting at 5pm. The amazing side dishes come ready to eat -- you cook your protein, and it comes with all the oils/seasonings you need to do it right. It's super fun, and WOW -- so delicious. My mom won a gift certificate for this place so she decided to take the family out and give it a try. This place is located right by Queens beach, near the aquarium. Depending on the time of day, there's plenty of free and meter parking around the area. We got there later in the night around 8pm, so parking wasn't a problem. This place is a little pricey but for a joint in Waikiki, that wasnt a surprise. We ordered kalua pig cabbage, steak, crab cakes, fish & chips, and a passion fruit smoothie to share amongst five of us... which was more than enough food. The total came out to about $70. They gave good decent size portions. Each plate came with rice and tossed greens (the dressing was really good). The kalua pig cabbage and crab cakes were bomb.com. The steak was a little chewy and there wasn't anything special about the fish & chips. The passion fruit smoothie was good but not $12 good. This place is right alongside the beach and there's live entertainment as well. It'd probably be a really nice place to eat while watching the sunset. read more

On Friday and Saturday they feature a BBQ buffet. You select the protein and you can serve yourself to the side dishes as many times as you want. The service is friendly. Yes! They are back open and have lovely outdoor seating. I went to get my usual for lunch, even though I thought about getting something new- but I just couldn't. Was craving my sandwich! It's flavorful but ask for hot sauce if you want some more spice and extra flavor. You can choose from sweet potato or regular fries as well as a salad. The sandwich has tomato, onion, lettuce, barbecue sauce and of course kalua pork. It's really affordable and a convenient, easy to find spot if you've had a day at the beach or the zoo.
