Driving home from the Mall and checked out Barn Door. Sat at the bar area, very nice, we ordered a margarita pizza, we asked the bartender if it was a real margarita , because most places it's just a regular plain pizza and they throw basil on top and call it a margarita pizza. The pizza came out and it was the real thing! It was absolutely delicious! The crust, sauce everything the best! Oh and the house salad fantastic! I'd heard good reviews about this place so my friend and I wanted to check it out. We placed an order online, and we were honestly very disappointed when we got home. The salad was extremely bland and had very few toppings on it (it also barely filled the box) - the dressing was the only enjoyable part. The pizza we received was missing some of the ingredients listed online, and the vegetables on top were not cooked. They also came in large chunks that were difficult to eat. Pretty cute restaurant with great service. One side of the restaurant has a bar with TVs and tables with a little more low key atmosphere than the other side. The other half of the restaurant is more formal and decorated like a nice home which was very cute. Food is pretty good. The R bar combo was very good. Oyster was really fresh but what I was really impressed with was their cocktail sauce. It was superb. We also tried the famous eggplant stack. The breading on the eggplants was excellent but overall the dish was pretty soggy it was hard to eat. But still, not too salty and went really well with the basil leaf and cheese. My girlfriend got a salad and I got the burger here for takeout. the burger itself was very good and the combo of ingredients they choose to use go together very well. the 5 stars of this review, is to let everyone know that idk what it is, they use a black styrofoam to go container, but this was literally the first time I got a burger and ate it and it didnt feel remotely soggy or like a takeout burger at all. Same with the fries crispy and all. Call it magic, but I drove 20 minutes with the food before we ate it. The food here is spectacular! I really like the lemon spaghetti. It's so simple, but packed with flavor. One of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The calamari is excellent - not rubbery and fried to order. The ribs fall off the bone and are a huge hit with our toddler. The park spots can be a bit annoying to get in and out of, but it's worth it. The owner (or maybe chef) was walking around the restaurant talking to everyone. The pride and love he has in his food was apparent. One thing I didn't love was the blueberry pear cobbler. It was okay, but I preferred the cheesecake my husband ordered. I ordered the Turkey Burger with sweet potato fries, the fries were very good but was really disappointed with the Turkey Burger ! I had in my mind that I was going to sink my teeth into a thick juicy burger, only to find out that it was a flat very thin piece of meat disguised with lettuce and tomato on a fresh hamburger bun, which was not filling at all ! I finished it, but was still hungry so I decided to butter up the few pieces of bread that were still left. ! I mean for $17 dollars you should be able to get fresh turkey meat and not what looked like a processed meat patty ! So easily five stars. This place is on of my routes home from work and I've been meaning to stop for months. It was late, I was hungry, so I stopped in and I'm so happy I did. The decor is great. It has a low key unpretentious vibe and I like it. They were busy when I got there on a Friday night, but I found a space at the bar after a few minutes. The bartenders are great, but super busy and really hustling. I enjoyed my special limoncello Collins with vodka instead of gin, as a special substitution. Thanks! I loved their special menu and knew right away I wanted the Chicken Marsala. When that dish came out, everyone in the bar smelled it and wanted a taste. My meal was outstanding and every bite was a delight. I loved the mashed potatoes and spinach that came with my meal. Thanksgiving Dinner - Fabulous! My mother told me that they were offering a free turkey dinner for Thanksgiving (drinks and gratuity not included) and I didn't know what to expect. I got the Linguini with Clams and Hot Chilies. The garlic-heavy olive oil sauce was delicious and there the clams were plentiful. The portion was perfect and left me feeling satisfied but not overstuffed. My only complaints is that the dish wasn't really 'hot' - the chilies were more mild jalapeños. The Boy was very happy with his Chicken Scarpariello. The sweet cherry peppers rang through and provided a small kick to the well-cooked chicken. Other restaurants should visit and learn how to do contemporary almost casual dining. Not white tablecloth but suitable for a business lunch as well as for yourself or family. You can dress up a bit for date night and feel comfortable. Very attentive and courteous staff. A very fine addition to the area restaurants. Not a 5 because the bar pours vodka etc at double the amount of other places which I think is a dangerous practice. The Barn Door in Ridgefield is a hole in the wall place off of the main road. Walking in on a Saturday night proved to be a solid wait. Luckily around 7PM they had the full bar available and plenty of seating. The bartenders were really kind and knowledgeable about their local drinks. I had to stick with the classic Moscow Mule and it was mixed to a easy taste. It was not too strong, just the right amount citrusy flavor to make a smooth drink. I ended up ordering a few through out the night. After about a 35 minute wait, we were seated for a table of four in the middle of the dining room at a pristine table. There was plenty of room and the wait staff was amazing! Our waiter was knowledgeable, very kind and new how to serve. He helped us out on the menu and got us ordering within minutes. For about 2 1/2 hours, there was no rush, delicious food and sweet deserts for a bit more of a price. 100 percent worth it! read more

Wow! Second time that I've had the linguini and seafood special to go. Fantastic both times! Their containers actually keep the food hot well after you get home as opposed to the the cardboard boxes with holes that some of the local restaurants are unfortunately using during the take-out era. This photo is after an upside down drop of the container over into a plate. Enough for two. Included large shrimp, mussels and clams all very fresh. About $23 for a tremendous meal. My wife had salmon burger and said it was so fresh that she would rate it as excellent, about $13. Cockle clam/little necks with chorizo app was more than enough for two and about $11 The pick up process is on time and flawless. From parking to pickup took about 3 minutes and I was on my way. Unfortunately the food wasn't good. Massive portions - but we barely touched it (and love local, comfort food places): - chicken kabob - way too dry. Inedible. Tzatziki sauce it came with was clearly from a tub of premade. (Feels simple to make fresh - yogurt + mint + cucumber + lemon... why go with pasty premade?) - mussels - rubbery and overcooked - Ice tea is from a gun (ordering "do you have ice tea?" "Yes it's great" - great. First sip - clearly from a gun as it has that nestea tang. McDonalds, Chipotle, etc can find time to brew tea... maybe barn door should?) Clearly people love this place.
