Came for their happy hour on a Friday night and was not disappointed in the least. We waited about 30 mins for a table for 5 of us but were able to order drinks while we waited. They were reassuring that even if we weren't able to be seated until after 7pm (when Happy Hour ended) that we would still be able to receive the Happy Hour deal since we arrived way before which we greatly appreciated! Their Happy hour consists of Buy one, Get one drinks and $5 Appetizers which are great! They do not skimp on their drinks and the apps are enough for a meal! We all ordered different things and shared bites....everything was delicious....DEF try the Truffle Fries! Please note, only the bar side does Happy Hour. Summary: Friendly, proud staff and delicious food with generous portions. Gets packed fast - suggest reserving. Great website offers opentable and rewards (!?) so just use that! Great on-tap beer selection and comfy bar. The private room gets a bit loud but they make great use of the space they have. Parking suprisingly ample. run, don't walk! I've been here three times now and each was a great experience. First sat at the bar and tried the DIVINE salmon burger with sweet potato fries. The burger had juicy, large pieces of fish and was like a luxurious crab cake in consistency. Brioche roll fit the patty perfectly. Large enough to split (which I did). Bar staff is friendly and fun. Second time I sat at a small round table in the back room. Friend ordered chicken kebab - it was TWO large grilled kebabs that looked very juicy with a large (1/2 cup?) of raita/yogurt dip. I would estimate it was a solid 1 lb of meat. Doggy bags! I had the crab cake appetizer special, which came with two ~6oz crab cakes - dense and delicious. Service was fast and water refills kept coming, which makes me very happy. We had a chocolate brownie and cheesecake for dessert - woah - I never get restaurant dessert but this tasted homemade. Nothing was dry. Nothing was too small. Nothing was slow. I ate the entire cheesecake slice (This was a 1/2 lb slice mind you - would make Cheesecake Factory blush) without any shame. Third time I had their wings, which are fresh and hot and just as good naked as sauced. Blue cheese dressing was spot on with nice chunks but not too pungent a flavor. sweet chili sauce actually palatable. Ice cream for dessert was gently defrosted, just the way I like it. Very good. OK - the only dessert with a reasonable portion size, mind you. 0 guilt. Honestly if I went out more often I would be a regular here. This is what the Hideaway SHOULD be, but is all too often inconsistent in food/wait staff quality (no diss, I also love the Hideaway for their service and offerings - convenience doesn't hurt either. I've just had orders messed up and stuff come out of the deep fryer over-cooked a couple times. Minor things probably due to customer volume.) read more

I mean in my life I've been to many restaurants but no restaurant had such extremely horrible service well it all started when we went here and they were so slow to get to our table and then we ordered some chicken and fries along with pasta and we only got the pasta like what kind of stupid restaurant does that!?!? First time at Barn Door and they did not disappointment. The drinks were very good, the food was amazing, and the bread was warm and tasty. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced and the atmosphere is just as good as the food. Camilla was our waitress and she was very attentive and answered all of our questions. The recommendations she made were excellent and we are excited to go back and try the other entrees we couldn't decide between. As an added bonus, the doorways have a wider threshold allowing wheelchair users access throughout the whole restaurant. Absolutely will be returning customers. read more

This new restaurant has nailed it. My oysters were excellent, the fish soup excellent, and chicken kabobs were excellent!!! The kids had Pizza, so of course they gave it a thumbs up. The service was very good. My glass of water never fell below the half mark without anyone noticing. The prices are reasonable. The overall quality of the food, perfect for the price. read more

So great knowing I can get as great a burger as Joe Allen's in NYC! Hot spot for all theater goers, Joe's is the ONLY place I'll order a burger. But, sometimes ya just gotta chance it. It's a long ride to Branchville, but the Barn Door feels like home. What a find! This place is fantastic. I am always a sucker for a cool hip interior and this had it. Great combo of "Barn Door" and modern. What really made it for me and DJ was the seat next to the fireplace on the chilly day. I had the "wedge salad" and it was excellent. So good, that this afternoon, DJ and I went to Trader Joe's to get an old fashoned head of Iceberg lettuce and some blue cheese dressing just to have another one this week. What a treat! Lots of Tasty items so I opted for the dish that I compare to ... chicken scap. They customized my order with no problem : only hot peppers and instead of serving over a bed of broccoli rabe (yuck-o!) I chose French fries ... whoa fries with that sauce ! I've tried their food on three different occasions and was not impressed with their quality especially considering their hefty pricing. Ordered take out online and the food was disappointing to say the least. The price does no where near equate in value to the meal we received, and is incredibly underwhelming as this past summer the food was great. A $17 salad was a handful of uncooked leaves with 3 slices of beets. The pizza we all rechecked the menu bc we thought it was vegan cheese (it was not) bc of the texture and low quality. Not to mention the uncooked and unseasoned large chunks of vegetables they threw on top likely raw. Used to be a good res, can't say the same anymore. :( read more

First venture here was not bad- but it was their soft opening. Had a burger and the meat was good quality but lacked seasoning. Bun was over toasted. Service was decent. Second venture was for lunch and it was good, and service was attentive. Third was for a birthday party and pizzas were ok-typical of what you find In the area. Fourth venture was for a Christmas dinner with friends and had a great salad and a very dry lamb burger. Fifth venture was for a burger again to sample and see if improved and that made it my last trip-again, meat is great quality but no flavor! The owner has a great attitude and has experience and brought his burger knowledge from Muskoot here, but he does need to apply the same seasonings. A wonderful find on the outskirts of Ridgefield! Ambience is a bit loud and bright, but the food and drinks were amazing! The margaritas were really flavorful and satisfying, and the two appetizers and entrees we got were all awesome! Such flavor and really enjoyable. Not even sure this place rates one star! Awful food, bruschetta almost broke my tooth, meatballs are bland and the "Margherita Pizza" disgusting. Overpriced and would advise avoiding this place unless you like bad food. Great water and wine. Good place to lose weight. My husband and myself only took a small bite of the pizza and could not eat the rest. No one asked why we didn't want to take the pizza home! I have been to many "Italian" (as this place calls itself) but have never had such a bad meal. Happy Hour wasn't happy. $1.00 off their overpriced wine. What a waste of money. What really upset me is that we had small plates in Atlantic City that were 100 times better and just retuned home, looking for a nice meal. Tried this place twice to see if it got better... First time we sat within earshot of friends of the bartender who were very drunk. The food was bland but it came quickly... The second time we were told we had to leave by a certain time, which we agreed to... but the party came early and they were inexplicably told we were in their table and they should wait near us... so they proceeded to stand over our table... while we ate unseasoned pasta and rather tasteless pizza. read more
