Having bought ALL our major appliances from Baron's in Manchester a few years ago it just seemed like the place to go for our lake house in Belmont. As expected, we received wonderful customer service in the show room and were able to find just what we needed and in the budget we had to work with. It wasn't until we had to deal with the service end of the organization that we were reminded of their short comings. We have had three opportunities to interface with scheduling appointments with the service department (assessment of the old appliance, delivery of the new appliances, and a service call for a warranty repair). My disappointment comes in not the service or delivery but the scheduling. This last transaction is what prompted me to write a review. When scheduling the warranty repair, I asked if I could get a preference for an "AM" or "PM" slot in the schedule. I was informed that I would be called the day before the scheduled day of work and "given" a time range. When I explained it wasn't convenient to not know ahead of that call to plan my absence at work, I was lectured on the intricacies of their scheduling challenges. Of course being the "women that I am", I just had to push back and defend that as a working person it was inconvenient to have to take an entire day off of work for this visit and that even the cable company (and we all know the horror stories about cable companies) give their costumers a 4 hour window...come on, can't I at least only have to take a half a day off???? The woman on the phone would not concede. Ok, maybe I was pushing back a bit too hard, after all we are both working class stiffs and she is only doing her job.....Ah, but I long for the days of yester-year when the costumer was always right. I'm not so dumb as to think I am always right, but boy one would think my loyalty (thousands of dollars) warrants some sympathy from them in the way of a statement like...."I'm so sorry we can't accommodate you better, but my hands are tied by company policy"......is that too much to ask? read more

Horrible customer service. Charged $299 to unscrew and redo one propane fitting and another $250 to replace venting with semi rigid that took hardly any time Appliance arrived damaged and it was left to me to contact sales which took a bit and still haven't heard back from my sales rep officially Only option was to keep damaged unit for $75 off or they could reorder one add propane conversion kit and reschedule which would be in another 2 weeks Will never use them again Andrew D is worst read more

I bought a recently from Major brands a Maytag. It didn't fill with water and when it was finished 1/2 the clothes were not wet or clean. I contacted them immediately and told them - they said to use it for awhile and let them know. It never has worked properly - and first they refused to return it. ~ then they said they would - but with a 120.00 surcharge! They wanted me to pay them to take a washer back that didn't work. I have tried several times to work with them. Nope! Terrible customer service. read more

I am writing this review because I think that the customer service that my daughter and her fiancé received is absolutely horrible!!!! They are recently building a house which has been very challenging let alone the service received by so many people!!! They recently bought a refrigerator that was delivered still in the box because there house is not ready to be lived in yet ..... but decided they wanted a different refrigerator and tried to return this one !!!! Still in the box but was told they couldn't!!! What kind of place is this is and besides the response she received was very disrespectful!!! I have rarely been angrier in my life - a $1000 mistake in buying a GE Dishwasher from them. First, I had to wait longer than first told. I was then told that the delivery people would take my old dishwasher away and install the new one. That new dishwasher sat in my garage for WEEKS as they refused to do the install. Said a plumber had to do it. Weeks later, those clowns came and left and I threw them out of the house as I still didn't have a working unit. The third "touch" was a guy that spent two hours with GE Support only to determine that a manufacturing defect was present that couldn't be fixed. Again, had to wait weeks for replacement direct from GE. Big whopping deal - I was promised that Raymer's Express would both deliver and install the unit. They ended up leaving the new unit in my dining room as they said they'd wouldn't do the install. The lead guy stood there in my dining room "arranging for the plumber" to come the next day. He lied. When I had yet this next no-show, we called Raymers: "Oh, we have no paperwork on getting a plumber there". Days later, he arrived and at least he got it installed and "working". After using it twice, we've come up with 1) it doesn't clean the dishes, and 2) doesn't dry them. We have spent DAYS on hold with GE trying to get it fixed. Yesterday, we were told that GE would get Mr. Appliance to come out and look at it. This morning we were told that they didn't have a technician to do what GE said they could do and the appointment was canceled. Major Brands washed their hands of us when they learned that THEIR outsourced tech had arranged for GE to replace it under warranty. Said it was now GE's problem. My wife has already spent about 15 hours on hold - she refuses to do so again. So, MANY THANKS, Baron's Major Brands! For a company that's locally known for providing premium products with premium service, you pretty much have failed. I was going to also replace my fridge and stove - it won't be with them, that's for sure! read more

Worst experience ever buying an appliance. I bought a Bosch Washer Dryer stackable combo over a month ago. Told them I wanted to stack the two. First delivery was two weeks after I paid. Dryer door glass was broken. They left the washer and took the dryer back. Also failed to take the old appliance even though I paid them to do so. Several days later no contact from Baron's so I called the sales person. Finally got a replacement dyer scheduled for delivery (two weeks later), Dryer was delivered and this time they took the old appliance BUT they neglected to deliver the "stacking kit" and so now the washer and dryer are sitting in the middle of the bathroom. After several days of no call, I again called the sales person. Several days more went by and I received a voicemail stating that the stacking kit is at the store. (That's nice but when will everything be installed?) After leaving an unanswered voice mail I drove to the store. Encountered the salesman who wanted me to take the stacking kit home but could not schedule installation. After nearly a week with no call I called him today, went to voice mail. You get the picture. Just go to Lowe's or Home Depot. Cannot be any more painful than Baron's. read more

Purchased 3 Bosch appliances from Major Brands in Belmont, NH July 2021. The stove/oven became faulty June 2022 (less than a year old). Their repairman has come here twice. June 16, 2022 and stated needs parts. They ordered parts and they came directly to our home. July 28, 2022, he came again and still needs another part. Haven't had a stove top/oven for two months and the appliance wasn't a year old when started having problems. Major Brands has not offered a solution. As I understand from repairman, has to take appliance all apart, the stove top off, the front of stove off, the back of stove off when he gets another part. I would not recommend Major Brands or their appliance service or Bosch. Very frustrated. read more

Knowledgeable, friendly service. They gave us a heads up that delivery could be delayed due to road limit restrictions and sure enough, we're now waiting. We've bought all our major appliances from Barons and will likely continue to do so. read more

I recently purchased a $2000 dishwasher. Delivered, was installed by my plumber to discover that it was damaged. Called Barons and they sent out a repairman who agreed that it was damaged in shipment. Someone would call to discuss replacement. Heard nothing. Called again. Someone finally called back and said they would look for a replacement but that my salesman was out sick but working from home. Called three times over a week and still no call back or answer. Called again and spoke to a salesman who helped. The only option I had was to accept a floor model. No reduction in price however. Had to wait a week for delivery, had to have my plumber come back and disconnect the old one so they could take it back. The window they gave me for delivery was 2 - 4 pm. I went to work and arrived home at 1:45 to find them here and not happy. No one called my cell to alert me to the early arrival. They brought it in and immediately left without removing the damaged dishwasher. I had to wait around again on a sat for them to return. I gave a poor rating for the service and was told that someone would contact me. It has been over two weeks and I have heard nothing. I also had to have my plumber return to hook up the new one....all trips at my expense. Crappy service once they have been paid and the customer is out the door. read more

We bought a stove, dishwasher and a washer and dryer from Bill York. Excellent experience. Just accepted delivery from Nathan and his assistant. They were courteous, careful and paid great attention to detail. Would give 10 stars for the whole experience if possible. read more

I ordered a new stove from Baron's and it was delivered to me with a sticker stating it was converted to propane. It was never converted which led to having flames that were very dirty. This issue caused me to damage my expensive pans. They came out to fix this but did not have the proper conversion kit which then led me to taking another day off for them to come back to fix it. After they stated this issue was fixed, I was unable to properly cook food as now the flame were so small they died out on low and high takes too long to bring a pan to heat. I have lost food due to poor cooking conditions, and time from having to take multiple days off for these issues. Go somewhere else if you want good service. read more

2-3 months ago purchased kitchen appliances and were guaranteed delivery date in time for our closing on a new home. Now all of a sudden our fridge is back ordered and a replacement fridge was sent. The replacement fridge is a dented much smaller temporary fridge that belongs in a college dorm room. Now the appraisal of our new home will be affected because promises were made and not kept. This business model is apparently over promise and under deliver. Approached management numerous times and they just keep saying we can give you floor models but no discount or you can wait for a delivery that can't be guaranteed on any date and time. read more

I have bought major appliances from them for years. They are simply the best. Have also purchased from the big boxes. No comparison in the advice and expert product knowledge and their prices are the same. Dominic DeVito is my go to guy. He thinks of every little detail when replacing existing appliances. He asks very detailed questions that really pay off. He even asked about placement of the appliances (in this case washer and dryer), looked at photos, guided us on a set that is recommended for 2nd floor, guided us about the hose length, which side washer and dryer should be placed. If he had not, the doors would not have been reversed and it would not worked out in the space. These guys can not be beat! Thank you Dominick. read more

I was looking for a washing machine, and I didn't want to deal with the big box stores because I'd heard too many stories about what a hassle it was to schedule a date to get the machines installed. A friend recommended Major Brands, so I went. They were great, and they only showed me machines that fit my specs. I went back to Lowe's and Home Depot to check prices and nothing seemed super cheaper. So I went with MB and also liked that they have inhouse delivery people, and they delivered on a Saturday.
