Our office recently relocated to Silo Point and we provide a catered lunch every Friday to our employees - I always like to try out local businesses and I am a firm believer in supporting small businesses as well. I was staying locally from out of town. Stopped in and had maybe the best crab cakes I have had in a while since the Captains Galley in OCMD was still original owned. I just wanted to update to say this place has one of the best crab cakes in the city. I don't say that lightly. It is across the street from Phillips HQ, but ironically doesn't serve crappy Phillips crab cakes. The other food is decent but not amazing. Good service though. Overall I give it a four. read more

Went for lunch with friends based on the good reviews - all left full and happy! Between all of us, we ordered soups, a pizza, a shrimp po' boy special, and pulled pork. The full portion soup is generously sized. I recommend the chowder - very flavorful and not overly creamy. The sides of old bay fries or chips were super tasty sides for our big sandwiches. Lunch was high quality and reasonably priced - I'll have to return for dinner! read more

As a local bar, this place is totally deceiving. The food was awesome! My boyfriend and I started out with a delicious Bloody Mary that had a pepper infused vodka in it! Finally, a Bloody Mary that wasn't too thick or too filling! Then we got the French onion soup, which was served in a crock pot. It was so tasty and the cheese reminded me of melted pizza cheese. Who doesn't like that? As our main course we split the seafood club, which was huge and had bacon, lettuce, tomato, shrimp salad, and a crab cake. It was everything good on a sandwich. The house made chips served with the sandwich were also on point. The bartender was also really attentive and very friendly, even though we came in during the blizzard of 2016! If you're ever in Locust Point and looking for a good local bar to grab a nice meal, check this place out! read more

Small neighborhood bar and restaurant in Locust Point. A couple of interesting things. They have infused vodkas behind the bar. They also have one of the largest plates of nachos I have ever seen (Surf and Turf). Other thing I would recommend is the pork sandwich. If you are in Locust Point, stop in for a meal. read more

I understand you can't dispute taste but how can we all be so far apart? My wife's friends had a Groupon or Living Social coupon and it's right around the corner from our house, so we went. Never again. I'll make pancakes for dinner before I go here again. I don't know what is worse, the obnoxious, disinterested service (we get it, you serve Natty Bo and you're cool) or the food (just awful). My wife and I both had the porchetta sandwich, where an over toasted, dry sub roll, housed two sad, dried out little pork...pucks. Inedible. And the $11 vodka martini in a rocks glass was insult upon injury. If your food is bad, at least have cheap drinks. Go and see for yourself if you must but don't say I didn't warn you. read more

After eating at a number of my regular eateries I decided to try something new. Again I Yelped a spot in Baltimore serving good casual food in a upscale dive environment and came up with Barracudas. Normally a Tavern with that name would be a turn off , however, the reviews were good and we all like seafood and well prepared American fare so it was a go. We all had cups (and they were sizable) of Maryland crab soup. This was a five star soup chock full of fresh veggies in a wonderful red broth with nice pieces of flavorful crab meat. And it was served steaming hot - perfect! Then two of us had the Key West Salad with five huge shrimp dusted with an island rub of some kind. It was a bit salty for my taste buds so I scraped off some of the seasoning and ate all five of those jumbos. The salad consisted of some nice greens, a half circle of avocado, cherry tomatoes and some red onion for taste. We both liked the two dressings - a key lime and a white wine vinaigrette - both home made - each with its own distinctive flavor. My husband had the double crab cake platter with a huge pile of French fries and some good looking cole slaw. Here's where the platter failed. The crab cakes were decent sized and made up of good crabmeat, however, those cakes needed some spice. Also the fries were overcooked and they were hollow. I have never eaten a hollow FF but these had no interior. Very odd as I bit into the potato and only tasted the hard exterior. I'm not sure how this happened but it did. For $32 give me some more flavor and some yummy fries. We had great service from a young man who said he'd been there for four months and who refilled our glasses many times and asked if we needed anything else. Parking was easy as we left our car on the lot across the street. Barracudas is a nice addition to Locust Point and we all said we would return and try some of the other items on the menu. read more

Chips and guac are made fresh in house and are awesome! Service is always very attentive. Other items I've tried: Surf and Turf nachos are okay and huge. The daily soups are usually very tasty. The Porketta sandwich and Key West salad are both very fresh and flavorful. I would order any of these items again, but a must have is the guac and chips. As far as drinks, I love their fresh watermelon crushes. They also have orange, lemon, grapefruit (I think)...but the watermelon is great. The vibe is a nicer local "dive" bar. read more

Great food at this neighborhood bar. Very casual atmosphere, lots of locals strolling in and saying hi to the bartenders. Check out the pizzas, they are awesome, and every chef's special I've had has been delicious. Not a fan of the cuda rice, but some people love it. Also love the cuda punch, but let the first one sink in before you order a second (they are STRONG). :) Table service is actually a bit slower and less friendly than the bar, so I'd suggest sitting at the bar if there's room. read more

Our favorite locust point spot. Every item on the "specials" menu is amazing. Fresh seafood and large portions. Billy (the owner) makes you feel welcome and part of the community and Barracudas family. Sometimes slow service and bar prices are a bit elevated but worth the wait and money for the fish tacos, bay fries, joe rags salad, whole fish, or Hell's Kitchen! Lots of space upstairs to accommodate larger parties and families. Comfortable atmosphere where you could take a date or watch a ball game. I tried this restaurant out on a recent trip to Baltimore after I purchased a Living Social deal. I read reviews but was hesitant when I arrived and saw the location. This place was a definite surprise and a well found gem! The manager or owner (??) was also the chef, and he greeted us with some wonderful sounding specials. We ordered the coddies as an appetizer, a yummy patty of cod fish and potato with seasonings...with drizzled mustard on the plate. You only get one, but it was large enough to share between the two of us and my three year old. I ordered the seafood chowder which was the best we had ever eaten!!! Creamy and not too thick, with a nice sherry sweetness and generous portions of mixed cod and shellfish. I also ordered the seared tuna salad over greens, capers, artichokes, hunks of feta cheese, and a lemony vinaigrette. The lettuce was tossed in the dressing, so each bite had the perfect amount without being too heavy or too dry. My boyfriend ordered one of the specials, blackened crab cake po' boy which was absolutely delicious! The only complaint was the price of the sandwich ($17) which surprised me when I received the check. Maybe that's normal for crab cake sandwich in Baltimore?? My three year old daughter wanted a burger when asked, so the owner said he'd cook her up one. He did warn me it was an 8 ounce burger. Next time I wouldn't spend $10 on a burger for my three year old, but you learn. Everything was so good, I'm wishing I would've bought more than one Living Social deal!!! This place is great for groups if you're looking for something that has a variety of options to please everyone. We have been here multiple times and have never had issues with the quality or taste of the food. I especially recommend the surf 'n turf nachos to share (I'd suggest splitting it at least 4 ways) since they're HUGE and delicious. They definitely spotlight their seafood dishes, which always taste fresh. I don't usually like my fish tacos battered, but they do a great job of them here and the accompanying slaw and rice are delicious as well. As Chris B. and David B. have mentioned, their service is sometimes lacking. We've had orders forgotten, both of food and drinks, a couple of times. But once we brought it to the staff's attention they have always done their best to make it right. They have excellent drinks, too! read more

The Bmore Fries are absolutely legendary. Other food can be hit or miss... One time the Red Snapper entree that were epic, Another time soft shell crabs that were fried and flavorless. Hit this place up with coworkers when in town for a conference. We just wanted a couple of beers and this place delivered. They had a strong beer selection (with great IPAs) and were perfectly friendly. I was there on a knee scooter and they helped me find a place to stash it so it was out of the way. Worked late one night and our boss treated us to dinner. Some of my coworkers swear by this place. So, we decided to try their takeout. The bar staff was very friendly and shared that our crab cake sandwiches would take 15-20 minutes. We waited, and waited, and waited. They took close to a half an hour, if not longer. Was starving. So, I took a bite of the sandwich in the car. Meh. I've had better. But, it's a neighborhood bar, and not G&M or Timbuktu, which are famous for their crabcakes. I was here recently on a working lunch. I'm pretty impressed. The service was very relaxed, but I don't mind that for lunch. The server was still quite attentive and made a few very nice gestures like offering, unprompted, to turn the tv down or off if it bothered us. Drinks were refilled promptly and she dropped off a pitcher not long after we started, which was nice. The food was really quite good. I have to recommend the fresh/homemade chips. Definitely get a bag for the table. Also, the tortilla chips and guac was very tasty. All of our entrees were really good. I think I won lunch with the special, "Steak Frittes" a very nicely done steak over fries with gravy. I'd definitely go back, and this will likely be where I subtly suggest we go for working lunches from now on. read more

Unforgivable experience. Our first choice nearby had a line out the door (it was Memorial Day weekend) so we checked the reviews and thought it worth a shot. Mistake. We ordered the seafood nachos and seafood chowder as appetizers. Thirty minutes later and still no sign of any food my husband flagged our server and told her we would love to start with the soup first , figuring that had to be ready. She promised to bring it right out. Another 15 minutes and here comes my husband's entree, a hot Reuben type sandwich. When we asked where our appetizers were she was not even apologetic. We started eating his sandwich as we were famished. Very mediocre. Still no soup or nachos. Almost ten minutes later she arrives with the soup and announced they were out of crab for the seafood nachos. Really? A seafood house on Memorial weekend in Baltimore out of crabmeat and didn't even bother to let us know until nearly an hour after we had ordered this APPETIZER. Again the server couldn't have cared less. By now I was beyond aggravated and canceled the nachos which she told me she could bring minus the crabmeat. The food that did make it was utterly forgettable but not so bad that I would have taken the time to post this review. Textbook example of a restaurant that cares nothing about its customers experience. No apologies, no alternative.. Just the check at the end of one of the worst dining experiences to date. read more
