Wow, this area to begin with is awesome. BarrelHouse is located in Tin City, where you'll find tons of other wine tasting spots, food, and even a cider house. I had this place bookmarked since it got tons of reviews on Yelp. For starters, this place is pretty massive in size with tons of beer options. They've also got tons of merch for those interested in supporting the brewhouse. If you've followed along with my reviews at all, you'll know that I've been on a hard seltzer kick and it wasn't any exception here. I ordered a seltzer for myself and my husband got a hazy IPA. I'd like to consider myself to have a taste for hard seltzers now, and I gotta say that I really enjoyed this seltzer. I got a nice little buzz and sat down by the waterfall with my dog and husband as my companions. The only reason as to why I didn't give this place five stars is because I felt like there were so many people at this brewery and the mask enforcement wasn't there. I personally distanced myself, but it would've been great to see a little more enforcement from the workers there. read more

Cool spacious brewery with a waterfall in Pasi. We stumbled upon it on the way back from SLO and so happy that we did! I tried the chai tea beer freeze, and it was delicious despite it being chilly and drinking during the fall. Wish I had more before the shut down. The staff were quick and helpful. After looking in a local guide for places, we came here & loved it. I love sitting outside with country music in the background. The service is friendly & the woman who helped us was very friendly & knowlageable; I wanted a flight & was not sure what to get, so she put together one that I really liked. It had the citris & strawberry blonds, one of the IPA, the oatmell staut, & Standard blond. They were all very flavorful; the fruit beers having just the right amount of fruit & the staut having a perfect flavor of oatmeel & chocolate & coffee essences. The Mexican Chocolate Logger was another favorite with a ciniminy chocolaty goodness with hops that were not too strong. We had food from Smash & Role I think was the name. My lobster roll was smaller that I expected, but still good with plenty of meat, celery, & onions, & pepper aioli. My aunt & mother gave me each a half of smash burgers which were tender & well marinaded with cheese, onions, tomatos, & a fresh bun. We shared fries which were crispy golde. We got a four pack of the oatmeel staut to go. I will definitely come back here next time I am in town. So, for wonderful brews & food at reasonable prices in a casual atmosphere, Barrel House cannot be beat. Keep up the good work guys. read more

Fun outdoor atmosphere for friends and family. This is a great spot for large groups. Keep in mind that there were very few people wearing mask. So if you're looking for a mask enforced spot to hang out in, this is not that place. The beers were yummy but the slushy beer was not. This was basically a beer that was put through a slushy machine, which was a little gimmicky. There was one Indian food truck and the food smelled good. I wish we could've eaten here. read more

The power of beer, it's a wonderful thing! This place is testament to that power. They are a modern 20BBL brewery with 60 to 150BBL fermenters so they make A LOT of beer! They also have an on site bottling facility so lots of that beer gets distributed out... All that aside, the location is pretty awesome, they have a giant beer garden complete with a water feature and an old flatbed pickup truck used as a stage for live music events! It gets pretty hot in the summer in Paso and nothing cools like a tasty fresh brewed beer! They have quite a few beers on tap in quite a few styles and all that I tasted were awesome. I assumed that some talent from nearby Firestone Walker brewery leaped ship and started this place but learned that it's the sole product of a couple Central Valley boys and their passion for brewing great beer. They don't serve food but every time I have been there they have had a food truck parked out front. They are take in friendly and the space is great for a picnic and a beer. So much fun visiting here last month. We got a few beers and there was this great outdoor seating area. The beer was spectacular and they had a ton of great flavors including michelada, peach, and watermelon. The outdoor area appears to be shared with prayer spots in that area but it's nice Bc they have food trucks that you can order meals or appetizers from. I also really liked their merch and found a shirt my boyfriend would love, but alas they didn't have his size. CA is making all establishments sell you food to stay open so they are adding a $1 cup noodle to your beer orders. You can eat it or donate it to the food bank which I think is a great work around to the law. Will definitely be back! read more

Great beers, amazing atmosphere! There's tons of space to move about. Lots of picnic tables and there's a food truck as well. In the back there's a big stage and grassy area for live music and there's appears to be a private space that you can rent out for larger events. I really enjoyed their Strawberry blonde and tropical IPA. This would be a great place to meet up with a group of friends, have lunch and enjoy a few beers. read more

Visited this brewery on April 20, 2021. Love Love Love the location. We ordered our brew and sat by the water feature and soaked up the sun (there was also shaded seating). I had the oatmeal stout and hubby had the Barreled aged brew. Afterwards we ordered from the food truck. "Tot-chos" not nachos with chips but with tater tots! Delicious both food and beer. We will be back! Looks like they are set up for concerts and entertainment when Gavin Newsom decides to finally open CA. Nice friendly staff and a clean beautiful location. read more

Good selection of beers (over 10 at the time of visiting). A lot of their trademark beers are on tap with a handful of specialty beers. I was very surprised to see taster prices of barrel aged beers being the same price as non barrel aged beer and also offering growler fills of barrel aged beers. Although a growler full of a 9% ABV would be scary, that is so cool that its offered! Shows that they are ok with not overcharging the people. Thank you guys! Great atmosphere, awesome outdoor area to hang out at, LOTS of BHBC merch to purchase, and heaters that truly warm the space up on cold days. read more

Despite it being a million degrees and a small brush fire nearby, the staff made our COVID experience at Barrelhouse worthwhile! Came by on a Saturday evening needing a refresher from the hot weather. There was plenty of outdoor seating available for small/medium groups. There's mist sprinklers on in the back of the outdoor seating area. Masks are required inside and/or when ordering drinks. There was unfortunately a brush fire nearby which made the area smoky. Given that this business follows COVID precautions, you can't hide inside. Gotta make the most of it! It was SO nice to have tapped beer again and the staff made this trip worth it. They were so friendly and made great conversation. There was good music playing... it just felt so nice to be out ya know?! Super fun place in Tin city. When I walked in, it was pretty lively. They had a pretty good variety of beers But as it turns out, my favorite beer was one with passion fruit. The smell was incredible and the test was us so very very good. There are a lot of picnic tables, tables and chairs, games to play outside or at the time we visited they had a really good band on stage outside in the corner. Glen Delpit and the subterranean's. If I lived out here I would definitely hire them. I WOULD go back and I would definitely recommend this area to go have a beer. read more

I've been going to the Barrell House for well over 10 years. The beer and atmoshpere is great and it's a fun place to hang out in the summer. The food truck had a lot to choose from, but amazingly enough there is not a single vegetarian option, unless you count french fries. So if you're a vegetarian or pescatarian like me, eat before you go, or sit with your friends and eat french fries. read more

Very cool place! If you saw my Tin Cider City post, you know I found out about the Tin City site where Barrelhouse Brewery is located from the AAA magazine a year or so ago. Judging by other Yelp reviews, I knew we had to head here after our flight of ciders. Chill vibe, great outdoor seating area, and even a food truck on site. Bartender was great and let me sample before selecting. Actually, he knew exactly which one to recommend after I tried a few and he picked a winner. Lime something?? During COVID there is a mandate that food must be purchased with alcohol, so they have a stack of Cup of Noodles that they sell for a dollar. You can heat it up and eat it, take it with you, or donate it to the food bank. We stayed for a while as it was just a great place to drink, hang out, and try to win a ring on a string game. I reviewed their speakeasy in SLO about a year ago when I visited for work. This trip I was closer to Atascadero so I decided to try the actual brewery out. Wow. These people have it dialed in. I go to a lot of breweries when I travel and this might be the best spot I've been to as far as location and the ambiance. The warehouse feel of the inside opens up to a cool waterfall and plenty of outdoor seating. It's like a little oasis where you get to drink beer. The beer is above-average. Nothing mind blowing, but I wasn't disappointed with anything either. The setting more than made up for the mediocrity. Plus I only tried two of their many offerings. Service was fine. It's a brewery. They just need to pour me a beer and leave me alone. It's not rocket science and they accomplished the goal. I might even return today to have another and get some work done on the free wifi. This place is definitely a spot to check out. read more

Very nice place to hang out while in tin city and Paso Robles. We enjoyed beers here, hung out in different areas, they have loads of seating and entertainment. While we were leaving, a live band was setting up for an evening of music, we didnt get chance to wait till they started, but it seemed fun. The sculpture is soothing, seating benches have water sprays to cool off on a hot afternoon. Great beers as well, we got some bottles home too. read more

On this rainy Saturday afternoon I stopped at Barrel House. Right off Hwy 41 but not quite to Hwy 46 . Right off the Hwy you come across Tin City in Paso Robles. Here one will find several beer and wine manufacturers and distributors. It was our first visit to Barrel House Brewery. I opted for a flight which consisted of 5 different beers The environment was casual with plenty of outside sitting, stage and games. Unfortunately the rain kept us from sitting outside but there was plenty of room Inside, heaters and sports on the televisions. Kids are welcome as were dogs. read more

Love the space and love the beer, especially their coffee blonde stout. You don't find that kind of beer too often elsewhere so it was a treat upon stumbling here. The brewery is located within Tin City so the entire neighborhood has a really laidback vibe. There's a great open space for folks to sit down, a modest waterfall (see for yourself), and they're doggy friendly. Parking is on the street and it can be a bit difficult to find during high traffic times. It's all worth it though! Cheers! read more

Love this place and will often bring our beer drinking visitors here and it never disappoints. It was packed and we were lucky enough to get a table in the perfect spot. They have a food truck serving delish food but that was on the weekend. They offer pretzels and mustard for free and a great match with the beer, they allow you to bring in food so we brought our own charcuterie board. I haven't talked about the beer as I am not a beer drinker (which always make me the designated driver) but my husband, family and friends give it a robust two thumbs up! Love love love the employees, informative and always friendly. It's just a great meeting place and the sound of talking and laughter makes it so inviting, almost like a party. It was one of the first establishments in Tin City if not the first and I think the happy environment helped grow the area into a must see for Paso visitors. read more

My friends and I had so much fun here, we came back the next day! I had this bookmarked pretty much since they opened, and I was so eager I walked in before they were properly open (11 am). The bartender was gracious about it, and got us our beers and even cornhole set up in no time. My friends had the sampler flight, and I was determined to drink all the sours. Sadly, there were only two on tap, and those same ones were the only bottles available to purchase. We picnicked with our own provisions on one of the many tables around the cute stage made out of a truckbed. Even when it was packed for a show the next day, we were able to find seats on the other side of the building, where there is yet another charming stage, and the cornhole is set up. The CA drought is sad for obvious reasons, but in this instance, I was sad they don't do the giant beer pong anymore because of it. Barrelhouse is somewhere in my top five favorite sour breweries in CA (Bear Republic, Woodfour, Rare Barrel, and The Bruery are the competition). Shockingly, I loved the mango IPA. Enough to want to buy a growler of it, but for some reason we couldn't. I hope Barrelhouse can be more widely distributed - I've only found the sour bottles in two places in the Bay Area - since I couldn't stock up when I visited. read more

Hands down 5 star, must go place for beer lovers. Their selection of beers is extensive (IPA, sour, stout, blonde, hazy, etc) and majority of the ones I tasted were good. Beertenders are fast and friendly. They happily allow you to sample and will provide recommendations as well. Most beers are around $6. A food truck was there when we went on a Saturday night. Their outdoor space is HUGE. There was probably 10 corn hole games set up along with a couple ring and hook games. Plenty of outdoor seating. Small parking lot so plan to park on the street.
