I previously compared Barros to Le Grand Orange and Pizzaria Bianco. I was wrong. Barros isn't even in the same league or even ballpark as LGO, Bianco or even Cibo!! We have been faithful fans of Barros on Gilbert and Brown for years. Wow major disappointments ! Ordered to go went to the restaurant to pick up. They stated I didn't order. After they repeated my order back. They asked me what phone number could it be under a different name Etc. They asked who I spoke with as they have no order. I have proof of the conversation on my phone. I got the total due. I didn't know I needed the persons name I posted 1 star. They don't deserve that. There was no apology. Just a smirk. They have young people working that don't know how to handle a work load. And it's only pizza I get that but I went entirely out of my way to share this pizza with friends and came home empty handed. And on the way out the door I stated we won't be back. I got oh well ! So there's that. I guess they forgot what it was like to struggle. I won't eat from here even after The pandemic. The place is staffed by foul mouthed teenagers who think it's funny or "cool" to deliver food out to tables with their mask hanging from one ear. I absolutely love their pizza, but sandwiches and desserts...absolutely not! The club type sandwich reminded me of something from a school cafeteria. I don't have any other words to describe it. Just awful. Cheap cheap cheap meats. It quickly found its way to the trash can. For dessert we ordered the chocolate chip cookie topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. The vanilla ice cream literally had no taste to it whatsoever. I've never not tasted ice cream. It was like just ice. No cream to that stuff. After dumping it on our warmed cookies there was no undumping it. That also found its way to the trash can. Thankfully we ordered a pizza as well. This is usually the family's go to choice when wanting fast, good and reliable pizza.. IF, and a heavy emphasis on IF... Zach the manager is working. He's been kind, helpful and even took our pizza back and made us another when it wasn't up to HIS standards! That said, he can be depended on when it comes to quality. When the family and I went in on Wed night (2/22) we were expecting some of the same great service. NOPE. The staff is usually left to be run by an assembly of post-teen girls who try to be helpful. The pizza seems to be different every time we've been lately (and we usually go at least a few times a month.) 1. The pizza was not what we ordered (we ordered extra, extra pizza sauce, and it was dry and not at all what we wanted). When asked, the girl said, "Can I get you an extra cup of pizza sauce?" Yeah, great. Cold pizza sauce in a cup. 2. The pint glasses smelled like a dishwasher, and each time I went to take a drink of my Blue Moon, the smell was strong. And not just on one glass. 3. The children's area (where we were dining) was FREEZING! Until we said something, they didn't have any intention of touching the thermostat. 4. When going back to get a second pitcher of Blue Moon, the girls there didn't know how to change the tap, so we had to settle on something else that gave us an instant headache. 5. When going to use the restroom, the men's stalls were clogged. Gross. All in all, it CAN be a nice place, but only when a super-great supervisor is working. read more

Twice, I've ordered pizza online, showed up 30 minutes later when it was supposed to be ready, only to find out that they were just making my pizzas, and I'd have to wait another 25 minutes! And now I'm having to wait in the line where people are ordering there pizza, I have been to this barrows since I was 14. And have never had this happen to me. The service was decent. We ordered quite a lot of pizzas so it got here in a little over an hour. Although the girl on the phone kept messing up the order or spelling things wrong and kept asking to repeat things. The pizzas were $12.75 for two toppings. I think it's moderately prices although it was $2.75 per topping added. Not thrilled about that. We needed pizzas and we got them. So it's A-OK with us since we needed them delivered while in downtown Mesa. We were not going to call Domino's or Pizza Hut. Although, I think Papa John's might have been cheaper and taste a little better. read more
