My family and I recently had lunch here. The staff were friendly and the service was great. We ordered a cheese pizza and 2 slices of pepperoni pizza as well as a side of French fries. Disappointing service today. We were the 1st table in restaurant. Ordered salad, garlic knots, slices of pizza and pasta. Food sat in the window forever, was tempted to grab myself. Salad and pizza came at the same time. I had to ask about the pasta and dressing for the salad that sat in the window the entire time. After running errands decided to check this place out for lunch and I'm glad I did! They have a very good assortment of pizzas you can buy by the slice. Many different types of lunch combos and I decided to get a slice of their Blanca pizza as I love ricotta, and a specialty salad. I was told I could even add on additional topping! So I added sausage and pepperoni- this was a flavor bomb. DELISH! I also got a crispy chicken spinach salad as part of the lunch combo. I was very impressed with the amount of warm crispy perfectly seasoned chicken. With every bite I got spinach, bacon, red onion, mushrooms, sliced almonds, mozzarella and chicken. Also loved the dressing, it was light yet flavorful. Though it was a small sized salad, it was extremely satisfying and I was very full. The staff is very friendly, and the manager even stopped by our table and asked how everything was. They have a self serve drink section and even have a very cute bar area with a a couple TV's. I am very impressed with this business! After my not so great experience last time, Nikki W, their business customer service rep, reached out to me. She mailed me an apology card along with a dining certificate for two lunch specials! Wow, very impressed with the follow through and the service. Today I went back and had a completely different experience from my last visit. The cashier even told me I could add any toppings onto their ready made slices since they're going to heat it anyway. I never knew that was an option! I added pepperoni and sausage to the supreme slice, and added mushrooms to the pepperoni slice. The supreme slice was so filling and satisfying that I had to box up the other slice. I've always liked their pizza and now that I know how great their customer service is, this establishment will be my go to for pizza. read more

I didn't realize I would like NYPD so much but based on our last visit, this restaurant is now on our list of favorite pizza places. Service is great, food is delicious and prices are very reasonable. Restaurant is also clean. We chose it just because we were in the area and I couldn't stomach the smell at a neighboring restaurant, so we ended up here. Unlike the other place, as soon as we walked in, we smelled the beautiful and appetizing smell of freshly baked pizza. We ordered wings, pizza Blanca and a veggie pizza. Everything was delicious. We loved the white pizza so much. It may have had a tiny bit more ricotta cheese than we would have liked but it still was so good! Between the pizza blanca and the veggie pizza, we definitely enjoyed pizza Blanca more. We are going back because this experience was great! read more

I was really craving pizza tonight and have heard about this place and decided to go in. It's so welcoming and lit up. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and told to order crispy. Danni was my server and she was such a sweetheart and gave some of her favorites and most popular. I decided to get wine, the harvest seasonal salad, build your own with mushroom, pepperoni, pineapple and spinach thin crust crispy. The salad was delicious! The vinaigrette was perfect with the gorgonzola and almonds, so much flavor! I should have gotten a big one. The pizza was perfect. The pineapple and mushroom were fresh and everyone checked on me. I have to say I'm addicted to NYPD's garlic knots. This was my main reason for visiting oh, and yes, the pizza too. Both were fabulous and scrumptious. Why do I love the garlic knots???? well the reason is in the name GARLIC Knots. Yep, lots of delicious garlic and seasoning on top of these babies. I love to dip them in their marinara and ranch. Judge knot until you try. It My mouth is watering just writing this review. As far as the pizza goes, it's one of my top three in Arizona. I really enjoy their sauce. It's got a good tangy flavor and their crust is so delicious my husband who normally doesn't eat the crust ate every bite. We ordered our pizza for pick up. We came home, big kahuna was cheese and brooklyns family with no basil. So sloppy! Getting sloppier each time. They used to be very good and accurate. I have eaten at this particular restaurant many times over the years, but tonight's experience was not a good one. My husband and I were sat at the last table available in the dining room (there were approximately 12 other tables occupied). It was a small 2-top along the wall. We sat there patiently with our menus placed on the table top for over 15 minutes and not once did any of the staff acknowledge us. If you've been there, you know it's a small space, there is no way the servers didn't see us. They clearly were busy and and we understood that, but we weren't acknowledged, weren't brought water, no contact beyond the interaction of being seated. We gave it 20 minutes and then decided to get up and leave. We absolutely would have understood if someone came over and said, "We'll be with you soon." Or anything at all. We didn't even get eye contact or a head nod. We are return customers and have never had an issue at this location, but after this, we'll likely not return. There are too many others restaurants we could give our business to. Terrible service experience. read more

Best wings around!! I cannot say enough about their boneless wings with upstate sauce. They by far have the best flavor I have ever tried. Upstate sauce is a medium buffalo sauce with a super smooth taste, almost buttery but not over powering. PERFECTION. This is a family owned pizza joint from NY. I have always enjoyed the pizza at NYPD. I am from New Jersey where we know what godd pizza is about. The five topping pizza is a great deal and the Chelsea Chopped Salad is great and I am not a big salad guy. I am also fonr of the house beer...a very god amber brew. Our swever "Danni" was great. A good server can make or break your dining experiance. I live in the bondocks of SanTan Valley so I don't get there very often. NYPD should consider opening another location out here. It would do great. The only thing to do here is eat! read more

Did you see my salad? It was huge, fresh and quite delicious. I love that the bread was warm and garlicky, is that a word? I get really great service here when I visit, and my friends and I love hanging out at this specific location. I've never had to return anything or ask for a refill. They are attentive and prompt. Hubs loves their calzones (not pictured) but it's so big he takes half home for leftovers. I'll be back and totally recommend. read more

Big mistake.. very very dry, my husband had to ask for extra sauce for the Vodka dish but it was just not good at all, mine was ok but still very dry also no sauce. We may go back for pizza but nothing else EDIT: I was contacted by Melissa with NY Pizza Dept. who was extremely apologetic and asked for us to consider giving them a second chance. We went in here for lunch and it was just OK. I wouldn't recommend it really as there are too many much better places for pizza. The service was not very good either. the place wasn't even busy and had to wait for a drink refill. It was a very good place years ago, but I think that they have lost their way. It's kind of like an old-fashioned bar/restaurant back east, but like I said, service was not great, and my pizza was warm at best. My wife's pasta was also OK, but nothing to write home about. In town for a softball tournament, followed the Yelp reviews to this spot, which was only a few minutes from our hotel. Decided to try this place in our pursuit of good pizza. It was a good sign when they talked about having filtered water to NY standards and they had a McSorley's pub sign. Brings back memories. The mango ice tea and the Arnold Palmer were good. A nice size and the waitress was quick with the refills. The Chelsea chop salad was excellent. The Gorgonzola cheese , crispy bacon and sun dried tomatoes were a perfect combination The pizza was really really good. Wasn't a huge fan of the tomato slices on the Joey, but they definitely got the crust down. Looking forward to trying an other one. NYPD Pizza was disappointing unfortunately.I tried to order two separate boneless wing orders, one with buffalo sauce medium, and one without buffalo sauce and no spice. I repeated this back three times. Both wing orders came back with buffalo sauce and so pretty spicy and were unremarkable. I suspect all boneless wings here are only with buffalo sauce and wish I would have been advised as such. The mozzarella slabs with panko batter were pretty good but heavy. I was thinking it would be mozzarella sticks. The large greek salad with grilled chicken was great. The employees were very nice. read more

I honestly wish I could give this restaurant a Zero star review. The servers were AMAZING! However, whoever the screaming worker that was there was baffling to me. She is probably some higher up, which she thought she could talk, act the way she did in front of staff and customers is BEYOND me. I've never witness someone bring down employees in front of customers the way I did last night. I beg these employees to report this woman to someone that is higher up. I will be a witness to everything I witnessed. To the woman that felt as though she needed to scream, belittle and put down your employees, you need some major training. I hope you get fired for your behavior and actions. I hope someone treats you the way you treated those employees in front of customers. To the employees, you guys did a wonderful job. Pizza is good. Service is trash. I'm writing this review while the server is talking to co-workers. I haven't had a refill or had anyone check on me since the pizza got dropped off. I was able to eat a whole pizza and write a review and still no server to stop by. I had to go up to the counter to pay the bill. Brandon G needs to find a new career path. Unfortunately it appears that there are differing accounts of the events from that night. - There were three empty tables within your establishment. If there indeed was a waitlist, it certainly was not apparent by the vacant tables. Certainly any misunderstanding could have been avoided if we had been greeted and informed of the status of dining. - There were no other waiting guests, until about eight minutes after we had been standing there waiting to be greeted. Those guests also stood and waited for about 15 minutes before giving up and leaving, having never been greeted either. - Respectfully, I vehemently disagree that any foul language at all came from our party. There were no curse words spoken from our party, either to the server, or to the manager, or while we were departing your establishment. I am sorry that your manager has painted a picture that we were an irate and disrespectful party. We were in no hurry to receive a meal quickly, and in fact, were fine being first greeted with the 1.5 hr timeline outlined above. - Unfortunately, it was your manager who made a scene of walking away from the booth, and with a very loud voice, threatened to call the police. - Certainly it is unfortunate to hear that your server was upset and began to cry. That was not our intention in bringing the level of service to her attention. Perhaps it was the stress of being understaffed on a weekend night during the holiday season. So understaffed, in fact, that they could not serve their customers appropriately. That level of disregard seems to be a management concern that additional training might help the local establishment to avoid bad service and bad experiences in the future. Cheers. read more

Just left the restaurant. Checked in and was told it would be a 20 min wait. Host said to just hang around at the barstool area and they'll call us up. We watched two separate couples walk in and get seated before us. Waited at the front to speak to a host, and all I see is the workers in the back realizing they seated two groups ahead of us that clearly walked in after us. we did pick up the other night from this location. i absolutely love this place but my boyfriend had not been before so i told him we had to go so he could try it. we ordered the big kahuna and the bbq chicken pizza. we did have to end up waiting a little longer than expected for our pizzas, but they gave us complimentary drinks while we waited to accommodate. staff was very friendly during our experience here. when we got home, the pizzas were fantastic and tasted so awesome. my boyfriend was impressed so we will be back for sure! read more
