Why can't Surprise have quality restaurants??I've eaten at Mod Pizza In Peoria and it was delicious. At the Surprise location, the prep table was dirty. Sauce had multiple toppings in it so cross contaminated for sure. Dining room was full of empty dirty tables. It wasn't that busy to have a dirty dining area. Staff was super noisy goofing around in the kitchen. 9 pieces of pepperoni on an 11" pizza. They were out of spicy sausage but not mention of this on the menu. read more

The staff were very welcoming and the atmosphere was very relaxing. As far as pizza goes it was okay. The sauce wasn't too tangy. The toppings were nice. There were lots of options. Arrived just after 6 on a Friday. Literally no one in line. Within 10 minutes, the place was packed! Great food, toppings, price and service! Hubby joined their loyalty program and got a free "no name" dessert which was the most delicious homemade ding dong. It was way better than anything Hostess could make! We each enjoyed a mini salad and MOD size pizza for $42, no drinks. Cesar for me (with added bacon) and the Caspian BBQ pizza with tons of additional toppings, finished with BBQ sauce & ranch. Pizza was fabulous. Hot, crispy, packed with flavor but they went a bit overboard on the ranch drizzle. I'll ask for a very light finish next time. The staff was more concerned with on line orders than two in person customers. When asked about it, the male staff said they had a time limit. He proceeded to tell me that the on line had been sitting for 5 mins and they have approximately 20 minutes to fill them with a 7 min bake time. When our order was finally placed in the oven only one of those "very important" on line orders had been picked up with the other two still sitting in boxes. It also did not take 8 mins to make our two pies. When asked who the manager was the male staff pointed to a female who then proceeded to completely ignore our existence like we fell in a black hole. The male staff made little effort to show good customer service other than taking the order and making the pies. The last two times I have been here it was at least a 4 star, but they went the route of the Titanic today, if I could give a negative score i would. read more

Great customer service! I ordered a gluten free dairy free pizza tonight. I didn't like the pizza and called if there's any way I can have a different pizza instead. I appreciate the service but if they built each pizza one by one it would make the line flow faster. She was asking 4 different questions ppl in our group who wanted what on their pizza and it took a while cause she was trying to build 4 pizzas simultaneously. I've been to purplish and Blazed pizza, and Mod could def improve. Pizza sauce was a bit light. I asked for a side of pizza sauce and they gave me cold sauce. It would also help if the toppings were visually available to read and just request for instead of trying to guess what each one was on the counter and having to ask "what's that?"I might give this place another try because I live the build your own concept. Customer service was not good. Pizza dough was old and dried out looked like it sat there many hours. There topping proportions are so terrible. I'd rather pay more and actually get a decent amount of toppings I'm asking for then for 5 pepperonis on one pizza. The only value this place has is allowing additional sauces on top. read more

To start, the service was fantastic. I was there with 3 indecisive kids and the person helping with the pizzas was patient and helpful along every step of the way. Things moved quickly and we had our pizzas within minutes of seeing them getting built. The drink selection was great and we all love pebble ice :-) The manager Jeremy is running a well oiled machine. My youngest took to calling him "pizza man" and he made her feel like the most important person in the room. The place was clean and not too loud, even as more patrons came in. My only issue is knowing I will have to come back so many times to try everything I want to try. Bottom line it's great for any size group and everyone can get exactly what they want. I like that they offer kids sized pizzas as well, I have been to a few similar places that only do one size pizzas, but here even the kiddos can get their own.
