I was in the area earlier today and decided to stop in. Because I'm greedy a grabbed a few treats: an Oreo pop tart, crumb cake and coffee cake. My favorite was the crumb cake. Be warned it's very buttery/greasy but still very good. The crumb cake was a little on the dry side but the crumb topping was excellent. My hubby is an Oreo fiend and was vary happy with his choice. The center of the pop tart was filled with Oreos to his pleasant surprise.

Barry's Buns was a delicious sweet treat. I tried their maple bacon sticky buns at a food festival in Easton public market. Firstly the sticky bun was super heavy and dense. It was like eating breakfast. The icing was not to sweet and the inside was soft and gooey. Barry and his wife were really friendly and I learned that their products are home made and all natural so no artifical ingredients! Overall, I believe I paid 5.00 and it was worth it cause it would be challenging to eat at one time. BTW the sticky bun taste better warm, 30 seconds in the microwave does wonders!

Barry's Buns is another small shop in the Markets at Wayfare on Germantown Avenue, Chestnut Hill. They do all manner of bakery sweets that go well with coffee for breakfast, or any other time of day when you desire a tasty sugar fix. When I was there on Saturday afternoon the market was packed with beer drinkers both inside and out. Perhaps because of that Barry's inventory was pretty much threadbare. All I saw were a few chunks of Crumb Cake, Jewish Apple Cake, and somethings that looked like fruit topped cupcakes. The woman working the counter was friendly and answered my questions about what was left and smoothly packed up my order of two Crumb Cakes into a white paper bag. My sense was that as soon as her meagre stock was gone, so was she. If she had been willing to sell that apple cake by the wedge, rather than requiring the whole kubboodle go at once, I would have been happy to grab a handful. I love Jewish Apple Cake, but I didn't want the temptation of bringing it home in my car. I couldn't trust myself not to dive in and fist large handfuls into my mouth like the 8 year old kid lurking within would do. I did more calmly sample a piece of the Crumb Cake on the way after stopping at Poppy's Cafe for hot coffee to wash it down. It was excellent - still moist, soft, sweet, with clumped brown sugar/cinnamon/butter embedded within like a happy toy in a Cracker Jack box. Clearly have to come here earlier in the day to have the most choice.

Please. Pass on these. These were overpriced and dry. Stale. I went on a Saturday- about 2pm. We went to LEGO land and took a ride to a lovely district. The drive is beautiful and the neighborhood is outstanding. This bakery is located in a market and there is a little kiosk. I am so disappointed I spent $10 on bread pudding and a sticky bun. It was absolutely stale, gunky and smelly.

After eating two of the three buns we brought home, I wish we bought more. Our trip to the market was inspired by trying these buns. We ended up getting a plain, a plain with cream cheese icing, and an apple topped. We asked the recommendation for heating (Barry said 25 seconds in the microwave) and headed home. So we've had the apple and the cream cheese one so far. Heated just enough, they're soft, doughy, and sweet without being cloying. With how good these were, I both want to try some of the other baked goods AND wouldn't want to deviate from what we enjoyed!

Impression: just as the reviews say- this place was super- on seeing such beautiful luscious glazed Buns, you're already sold and wanting to get some! You can 6 buns for 15$, or each bun for 3$. The options are walnut raisin, raisin, walnut, Apple crumble, plain, seasonal special, cream cheese filled- their crumble and cake slices also looked phenomenal. Make sure to get some coffee or tea to go with these otherwise super sweet concoctions We got the box of 6 buns for 15$. I think the raisin and walnut raisin ones were my fav- microwave them the next day and they are magical. The seasonal we got was the coconut cream one and that was also good- the glaze on top is like caramel so it may get sticky on the teeth rather than the gooey stickiness that comes with normal buns. The caramel is what makes this super sweet too

Barry's Buns is always delicious and never disappoints!! The owner Joel is so sweet and friendly. We recently ordered pies for our family holiday party and they were such a big hit. If you're in Chestnut Hill or Old City you need to stop in for a bun or one of their amazing baked goods!

Most bakeries and pastry shops get good reviews on Yelp - people like sweet treats. But occasionally a place rises above the 'good' and enters the realm of outstanding and one of those places is Barry's Buns in Chestnut Hull. This delicious spot is found in the Chestnut Hill Farmers Market. Every offering here is top-notch. But what I really like is that it carries all the indigenous Philadelphia pastries. My friends from Europe love trying the unique Philly goods rather than the ubiquitous national items which you can get anywhere in America. So I will of course recommend their Philly lemon bars (or lemon squares), their sticky buns, crumb buns (or crumb cakes) and of course Philly butter cakes. And there are variations on these local treats - e.g. I recently had a peach cobbler sticky bun and a mixed berry butter cake. Staff is very friendly at Barry's Buns and indeed customers always seem to appreciate their patience while trying to choose which delicacies to purchase. Of course I'll be returning to Barry's Buns - it's only a few minutes walk from where I live!

I've been craving bread pudding for weeks now so when I found a location in Yelp! near me I immediately made the trip to partake. This bread pudding was not worth the trip despite the deliciousness of the name, it was not good. It's obviously made with day(s) old bread which isn't a bad thing. The bad thing is it was so very dry. No moisture, no custard, no cream. I took one bite and although I could've whipped up a cream myself to enhance it, I was so disappointed that I just tossed it. Now the sticky bun while not as ooey, gooey sticky sweet as I like it was tasty.

Barry's Buns is new to the Chestnut Hill market at the Fareway and I hope it "sticks" around for long time to come! Me and my girlfriend have eaten desert there twice now and it's awesome. Everything we've tasted tastes fresh as it's made right there, and welcomingly sticky. The cinnamon buns are great, the icing is even better, and the waffles are delectable. Grab lunch wherever, but get desert here. Just make sure you get some of that icing!

This guy knows what he is doing. It is a bit pricey, however. He's only open 3 days a week so I guess Barry is maximizing profit.

We have eaten at the high tops, in the main dining room, and at the tables extending into The Harper lobby, and each area feels like part of the same unified experience. The colors and lighting inside are especially warm and inviting, giving the room a glow that feels cozy and uplifting, especially during a Philadelphia winter. Food remains at the center of the experience, and my order is always the Jerusalem bagel with egg and cheese. On the rare occasions when turkey bacon appears, I add it as a welcome delicacy and a little extra sustenance, though the bagel is already delicious on its own. The cinnamon sugar kubaneh, the chocolate chip cookie, and the Bloody Mary are excellent. K'Far has also expanded its selection of bowls and salads since we ate here most regularly, and they look consistent with the quality of everything else. These days, a full breakfast here does not always fit within our budget, but I still make a point of stopping in for OX Coffee, which is delicious and, happily, roasted in Philadelphia. The Yemenite latte is another distinctive pleasure, aromatic and satisfying without feeling like a novelty created merely for attention. The staff is consistently charming, welcoming, and composed, and the team's continuity and energy suggest that people genuinely enjoy working here. When our budget allows, I will absolutely return to eat. Perhaps the clearest expression of K'Far's brilliance arrives in one memory from a cold, radiantly sunny Saturday, when "Inspector Norse" by the Norwegian producer Todd Terje comes through the speakers as the restaurant buzzes around us. The track, the worldly crowd, and the aroma from the kitchen create the elusive feeling Steve Cook and Mike Solomonov understand so well: people go out to eat because they want to feel seen and be briefly transported into a more vivid version of life. I already love K'Far and The Hoxton as separate brands, so seeing them come together at The Hoxton in Williamsburg feels like an unusually natural and exciting partnership. Creating this kind of social magnetism inside a bakery and café is a subtle achievement, and Philadelphia is richer for having a place with this much flavor, warmth, and personality.

The $10 martinis on Friday were an excellent deal and definitely one of the highlights of the evening. A well-priced martini always sets a promising tone, and these did exactly that. The bartenders were helpful and kept things moving impressively well, even with a group our size, which was much appreciated. The space itself is huge and very clean, with plenty of tables and seating, so it was easy for everyone to spread out, settle in, and enjoy themselves without feeling packed in. A major point in its favour is the setup for watching sports. They have a massive wall of TV screens, plus more TVs throughout the space, which made it very easy to keep up with multiple games at once. No awkward craning for a view, no fighting for the one good seat, just a very solid setup for a group outing. Overall, it was a fun experience and very much in line with the good times we have had at other City Tap locations in DC. A lively, well-run spot for drinks and groups, and one we would happily return to.

I started with a cocktail and really enjoyed it. It was fruity, well-balanced, and had just the right amount of alcohol without being overpowering. Based on recommendations, I ordered the burger. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype for me. It could have been cooked better, and overall I wasn't particularly impressed with it. What stood out most was the service. My server was attentive, friendly, and checked in regularly without being intrusive. Overall, The Dandelion offers a pleasant atmosphere, excellent service, and great cocktails. I typically go for a savory breakfast, but the stuffed brioche French toast was speaking to me. I can never turn down banana! The rest of our table ordered avocado toast (x2) and fried eggs with bacon. Everyone was really happy with their choices and an added bonus was that our food came out quickly. Luckily, we found street parking right next to the restaurant, which was a nice surprise. When we arrived, the wait for a table of three was about 45 minutes. That's somewhat expected for a popular brunch spot on a weekend. Once seated, the service was prompt. Our waiter stopped by quickly with waters and took good care of us throughout the meal. I ordered the House Angus Burger with sweet potato fries. It was solid, flavorful, and definitely filling. My friend got the Bella Vista Omelet with home fries, and we both agreed that while the food was good, it felt like standard brunch fare rather than anything particularly memorable. Based on the long wait and the hype surrounding Sabrina's, I think we were expecting the food to really stand out. In my opinion, the dishes we tried were comparable to what you'd find at a quality chain brunch spot like First Watch. That's not necessarily a bad thing, the food was satisfying, but it didn't quite justify the lengthy wait. That said, the menu has plenty of more unique and creative options that we didn't try. I'd be open to coming back and ordering one of those specialty dishes next time. Overall, I left satisfied with the meal and service.
