Really cute restaurant. Usually a wait. Rice bowl is amazing and they even give the bottled sodas. Only down side to this place is there is no queso dip. The tacos are tiny but good. I would recommend getting at least 3 if they are the majority of your meal. The side of corn is really good and you can ask for it off the cob and with chips to make a great dip. We have been eagerly awaiting the opening of this BarTaco. The west side one is great, but far away from N. Buckhead. The new location had been open 4 days when we were there.Immediately greeted upon our arrival by the mgr., we were seated on the edge of the gorgeous patio with the huge fireplace and impressive fence made of railroad ties. Surprising how much floor space was in that former Dunkin Donuts. Our servers both were very attentive and knowledgeable about the food and libations...very impressive for the first week in operation! Having dined at the Westside location, it was a given that we would start our evening with the fantastic romaine salad with roasted pepitos and a mild cayenne pepper cream dressing. At Westside, this salad can be eaten with the fingers, but this evening there was a bit too much dressing to do this..but still DELICIOUS, Tacos: pork belly, Veracruz fish, Baja fish, falafel, chicken, duck....so good, and easy to eat. Yes, they are small...3 or 4 bites, but this allowed us to try different offerings without being stuffed to the gills. Also, be aware that the tacos are inexpensive. Drinks are pricey...wines averaged $10, but that's the norm for Buckhead. Although there are several outdoor games to keep the children occupied, there still were Those Families Who Let Their Kids Run Wild. One little girl ran right into a server carrying a full tray of drinks in one hand and hot cheese dip in the other. Thank goodness, the accident was averted by the dexterious server and no broken glass cut the unsupervised child. Parents never noticed, but everyone sitting nearby certainly did....this is something BarTaco will have to address. Other than that situation, we are SO THRILLED to have BarTaco nearby!! read more

Frequent customers at Buckhead and Midtown Bartacos, we sometimes go out of our way to frequent the Midtown restaurant since our neighborhood's location has service issues, but last night's service will keep us away for good. You would think it easy get the check to pay after eating at the bar. After taking 10 minutes to get anyone's attention, we were billed for much more than we'd ordered, then management argued the point most unpleasantly. No thanks. read more

Really like this new location. Not only do they have a great vibe - they also have really good food. Oh, and before I forget, the patio is super awesome too! My only negatives are - the drinks are pretty pricey, and pretty small - if you stick with their beers its not too bad though. The tacos are small - but they are only a few dollars each. The chips/salsa are also small - but they are delicious. It's crazy packed on the weekend - a 45 minute wait for tacos is insane - but it's the place to be. And lastly, the tables/chairs on the patio are strange, the chairs are so low and the tables are at a weird height. Don't plan to sit on them if you're wearing a dress! Anyways, great new spot in the neighborhood. Very excited to go back soon. read more

We waited for what felt like an hour and a half but the wait was made better by the manager checking in on people waiting and walking around with a tray of little snacks. I've never experienced that at a busy restaurant. Most restaurants I go to that have longer wait times generally don't care that you have waited for an hour to pay for their food. They made a few mistakes with our order but they were accommodating, apologetic, and the manager came back to check on us. BarTaco is honestly the best American inspired Mexican tacos I've had since moving down south to Atlanta! I've been to a few locations but the service and ambiance of the Chastain location is SUPERB! Not to mention the manager Jeff always makes sure me and whoever I bring are always well taken care of. Now to the food... calling it amazing would be selling it short! It's SPECTACULAR! When you go you MUST have the baja fish and the pork belly!! My all time favorite! They even have gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options! They will even customize any item on or off they're menu for your liking! Since my first visit it's like I'm here at least once a week! We were helped by Carlos, Ally and Gina, some of the nicest people I have meet since coming to Atlanta from Maryland. They were very knowledge when it came to good items and drinks, and the the over all hospitality displayed by them was unprecedented. Yes the drinks here are a little on the expensive side but then again you also need to take into consideration the amount of work that goes into making each one (freshe squeezed lime juice and watermelon juice!). We were introduced to Bartaco while visiting my niece in Nashville. I was so excited to find that they had a restaurant in the Atlanta area. Apparently there is also a second location locally. We've ordered several combinations of tacos both times and their ingredients are very fresh and as healthy as you need them to be. One of us was following the Whole 30 diet and were able to easily choose items to follow it. Keto options are available. They will substitute ingredients as needed or leave them out. I especially enjoyed their duck tacos as well as their fish tacos. They're freshly made drinks with fresh squeezed orange/grapefruit/other juice are so yummy. Also, I love the service. The fact that you can sit down and fill out an order sheet at your table for everything you want is fun and fantastic. They are always typically pretty crowded, so keep in mind that you may have a short wait. Call ahead to find the best times to go. Great unique environment, and casual. Love this place! read more

I'm a sucker for a solid taco, especially of the non-traditional variety, and Bartaco never disappoints. I think at this point I've tried all of the tacos but always return to the same four. The sesame ribeye is wonderfully spiced by kimchi, the al pastor is a great balance of spicy and sweet with pineapple, and the pork belly is just... there are no words. I love Bartaco! The locations are consistent with one another but Chastain is my favorite because of the parking. The Oyster, Duck, and Pork Belly tacos are a hit!! My friends who don't even eat these things will order these tacos with me. The churros are surprisingly awesome too, they taste like they've come off of a street cart in Mexico. My only complaint is that the margaritas are expensive and can be a bit too tart at times, but the staff is eager to fix them if you're not happy. My understanding is that they are natural-just straight lime, tequila, and agave nectar hence the price and tartness. read more

Good food and drink but major operational problems. 3 out of 4 trips the food took 30+ min to come out. Their bar tenders and pretty inconsistent - ordered the same drink on multiple occasions and it tastes completely different. For some odd reason they still carry Equal as a sweetened instead of Stevia or Splenda. Last 2 trips my 2 year olds food came out last despite requesting it first (cheese quesadilla). Also, they tell you that your food comes out at different times which doesn't exactly make sense for this type of food cause it's quick to prepare but even so it's understandable if there is 5 minutes between plates but 10+ is just bad order management (line service). I like the spot but hesitate before coming unless I have a lot of time and my kid isn't very hungry. Hopefully management can fix some of these issues. read more

Disappointed in this restaurant. The first thing was the Host greeted us and said sit wherever you like. We seemed to be a bother to him. Why should he do his job. The next thing was that the music was too loud. I asked to Host if we could sit in a quieter area and he said "WHAT"??? There was no place in the restaurant where one could sit and have a conversation. Apparently the management thinks that loud music in a restaurant will make up for poor service. The small tacos were good but basically $3.00 for two bits. I think the other reviews may have been from friends of the restaurant. The real telling point was that the restaurant was basically empty and there was good reason. I would pass on this place especially if you wish to carry on a conversation with your dinning partner. read more

The coolest menu ever! The atmosphere is very chill. Perfect for those who want to get together with friends and catch up. The service is wonderful which is pretty difficult since the place was crowded. I went on a Sunday. I knocked off a star because of the BUGS outside.
