definitely an interesting experience. ordering is all online, which i kind of liked. the signature sauces come in a box on your table that was measured to fit the sauce bottles only, so they're a bit impossible to take out and use. i got the cauliflower bowl and asked to sub white rice if possible, which apparently was not possible. the roasted cauiliflower was cooked with no seasoning whatsoever. came with long strips of raw bell pepper, romesco sauce, and about two flecks of cilantro. it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. when my boyfriend's tacos came out i almost laughed. i saw that the manager said they were "street taco style", which is just as laughable. he finished them in about 2 bites each. three tacos and a bowl came to $20. if you're looking for gentrified mexican food that your abuela would refuse to eat, this is it! tldr: save your money and go to chipotle read more

We found out there was a Bartaco near our hotel and it made us miss the one in Birmingham so much. It was one of our favorite places in Birmingham. Luckily, this place was a hit, and definitely made our weekend that much better. We came in and had several tacos. One of their new ones is a swordfish taco with a lime sauce on it that is simply delicious. I also tried a new one this visit, the chicken chorizo, which had some spice, but was cooled by some avacado chrema sauce. These are definitely my two new favoites when dining at Bartaco. Of course, we had to finish off the meal with my wife's favorite, the churros with chocolate sauce. It really makes us miss our location in Birmingham. Maybe they will open another one someday. The chili lime shrimp was my favorite. Loved that little tang and spice in it. The lobster was also perfectly cooked. I personally would pass on the oyster. So In love! This is my new favorite place. It's in a shopping center off Roswell road, there's a few other plazas so it took me a second to find it but I'm so glad I did. We made a reservation for Friday night, so didn't have to wait. I love the decor, very wooden rustic feel. My partner tried their new bartaco secret drink -- blood sweat and cheers. Fire hot jalapeños, smoked pepper agave, lime, tequila, sooooo spicy and delicious. Also had a trsitional Brazilian drink with elderflower that was amazing! So my partner ordered the corn fritters for an appetizer. She's a chef, so she's very picky, but she LOVED them. Texture and flavor were on point. I got the plantain, which as a Jamaican I'm picky about as well, but they were delicious. The guacamole came with fresh tortillas that I could see being made in the kitchen, I loved that. I also love that the menu had plenty of options for plan based eaters. I got a trio of brussel sprouts tacos. I loved the carrot purée in it. My partner got tuna, duck, pork belly , and rock shrimp! We came here after a sister outing as part of our food portion of our date. The location is tucked in the side of the shopping plaza. There was a decent amount of people there and the location has inside and outside dining. You know I'll always choose outside lol We were seated immediately, now let's talk about the ordering process. I don't know if I don't get out much or if I'm just a village girl, but I've never seen what I'm about to describe to you! There is no "waiting staff", what you do is scan the QR code on the table an order from there and they'll bring the food as you order. Idk why I was so amazed by this lol it's the best idea for group dining. You need to put in your card info and if you try to skip payment they will charge the card full plus 18% gratuity. We were literally enjoying ourselves ordering whatever we want without trying to flag a staff member down. But don't think that their customer service slacks, the manager was going to every table making sure everyone was doing well. Now the food, if you're like me and enjoy eating (which is probably why your reading this), then I suggest you order 4 tacos minimum. They are a little small. But I liked their twists on tacos types. First of all, let me say I blame myself for not being cool enough to be here. They have converted to an entire menu on your phone wait for it not the normal menu where you tell the server what you want but, verify your phone, put your credit card in the phone, put your first order in, if you want to add to your order it's another credit card swipe etc. It's too much work for me to order a glass of wine. Speaking of ordering a glass of wine, they don't have Chardonnay on the phone/order so, you have to put a different color card into a thing on the table, they come around and say what" would you like Chardonnay?" you know like a server... Was visiting the A and always enjoy Bartaco when I'm able to, as there isn't one in my home city in VA. It never disappoints, so definitely can expect a solid food selection here. I was disappointed though that they didn't have the oyster taco at this location. The service was okay, which is typical of what I've experienced at other locations as well. Nothing bad, but nothing stellar type of thing. Regardless, I'm just here for the tacos, guac, and street corn! I love the alacart ordering style and the table signs to let the waitresses know you need something always remind me of the whole 'stop, Forrest stop' concept at Bubba Gump (for those who can relate). I highly recommend Bartaco, and this location is good. Has a nice patio and cute decor. It is situated with a strip mall, so the only downside is if you can't find parking by the door, you have to walk across the area where traffic is coming and going for the traffic light. I always have a great experience at Bartaco! I started going to Bartaco when I lived in Tampa to their South Tampa location in Hyde Park. Ever since, the items I order every time are the Oyster tacos when available (they are available right now in Buckhead - they had been off the menu for a long time). Also I always get the Duck taco, and the Street Corn (ask for "off the cob"). In addition, the churros and all of their desserts are excellent. And of course the drinks are all handmade. Highly recommended! Right now they've changed the indoor dining experience so that you order on the app and they don't have servers to your table. Bartaco is a nice date location. Heard about this place from a few friends and decided to give it a try. At first, I was confused on how to make an order, but we eventually realized that you write the quantity of what you down on this printed menu. Food: I ordered the Crispy Rock Shrimp rice bowl ($8.50). The rice bowl contains steamed brown rice, bell peppers, and onions. SOOOOOOO GOOD! I'd get this every time I go. The shrimp are tossed in a delicious orange-chile glaze, which gives the shrimp and entire bowl a sweet and spicy flavor. My nose eventually began to run, so this let me know how sudden the spice of the shrimp really were. Dessert: I'm usually not a dessert person at a restaurant, but I couldn't pass up on ordering churros ($7 for 4 small churros). To me, I think they're slightly overpriced. Maybe $5 max, but no more. I told the waitress to bring this out AFTER my rice bowl as a dessert. The churros were the FIRST thing to come out even though I asked for them at the end. She apparently thought I said I wanted them first, which would make no sense whatsoever. Who eats dessert as an appetizer and plans to have room for the main meal? So, the churros just got cold and waited until I finished my rice bowl. I didn't feel like having her take them back to warm them up or cook new ones. I took our waiter's advice and used the roja & habanero sauces on the side which added a perfect spice to the tacos. I also ordered a side of Mexican corn off the cob and coconut gelato for dessert! My sister adamantly recommended that I try Bartaco after she tried their food bought by a friend of hers recently. So, this past Sunday afternoon, I invited her out to lunch for our periodic catch up meal and this is the place we chose. They have several locations throughout the Atlanta area and we dined at the Buckhead location. I love the ambience of this place, which is amazing. It's a mix of old-timey rustic and modern. The background music is eclectic, and it is perfect for families, children, and even lunch for two just after church on a Sunday. Like the background music they play, Bartaco seems to be very versatile in terms of who dines there. They do create a quite welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the Chicken Rice Bowl which was good. The genre of their food is upscale Mexican, and it is fresh and delicious. Some of it is spicy, of course, but you have to absolutely love how good it is. For my side, I ordered the grilled corn, which was nicely grilled. I think the garnish on the corn is feta-cheese based, which also gives more of a Mediterranean taste to it. I plan to try the desserts and the sesame ribeye rice bowel on my next trip. My sister loves that one. The waiters were very attentive and not overly attentive and the hosting staff were very attentive as well. They maintain true hospitality in seeming to care, at various levels, about the needs of their diners, and that is very much appreciated. Before you can even VIEW the drink menu, you have to scan QR code, enter all your info, including your credit card and commit to either paying for yourself or the whole table. I met someone for a first date and arrived early. The only way I could order a drink while I waited was to enter my info into this system. Once he arrived, everything got ordered on his phone and we had a lovely evening but there was never a moment when the bill comes to the table. Turns out that everything that was ordered got charged to my credit card. It was terribly embarrassing to ask for it to be changed. We tried a number of the tacos: baja fish, yucatan redfish, crispy rock shrimp, glazed pork belly, roasted duck, and the sesame ribeye. The glazed pork belly was delicious followed by the roasted duck, and sesame reibeye. The seafood tacos were not very good - the baja fish was definitely the worse because there wasn't very much flavor to it. The tacos are generally small and you would need several (3-4) if you are making it your entree. I tried the reviver which was green despite the mango nectar. It was good and tasted very refreshing. We also had the churros with chocolate sauce. The sauce is a dark chocolate so its not too sweet. I really liked it but people that like sweeter desserts might not. We also got the large tray for the kids. It comes with a cheese quesadilla, guacamole and chips, three tacos (we got beef, chicken, and fish), corn wheels with cheese, cucumbers, and fruit skewers with pineapple and watermelon. The chips are actually large round taco shells that you can break into pieces. The tacos were not very popular with the kids. The tacos are plain and mostly filled with just the meet. The beef was the best of the three, the chicken looked a bit dry and the fish was not liked at all. The quesadilla was very popular and they also ate the guacamole and fruit skewers. The large tray seems like a better option than the small tray for multiple kids because you get guac & chips and some veggies but you only get one qusadilla. They also had the mango clarico with chopped fruit and loved it. Service was amazing. They use a little card system to indicate whenever we need anything - I really like this idea and think that it works better than trying to flag down your server whenever you want something. I accidentally dropped a small crumb from a chip in my water. Our server even noticed it and got me a new water glass. The restaurant has a casual "beachy" vibe to it. This location is located in a large shopping plaza with plenty of parking. We got there a little before the dinner rush and were seated right away. I saw people waiting in line for a table later. You can call ahead or use their app to put your name in line. They give coloring books to occupy the kids while waiting for food. The restaurant is very kid friendly. I absolutely love Bartaco but I've never been to the Buckhead location until a few days ago, and honestly it was the BEST experience I've ever had at Bartaco! The layout of the restaurant is similar to the other, although this location is located in a shopping strip so there's actual parking attached which is nice. On busy nights you may have to park on the other side of the lot but it's free parking so hey! When you come into the restaurant you first catch a glimpse of the patio area with the fire going and the lateras and instantly feel like you can take the load of the day off. The bar is the focus of the restaurant inside just like the others. There can be a bit of a wait on busy nights but totally worth it! When we sat down I was with two people who have never been to Bartaco (not sure how that's even possible living in Atlanta). I was raving about the pork belly taco, elote in a cup and the reviver, which are my favorite. As a frequent visitor I pretty much know exactly what I'm going to get when I go to Bartaco. But what made our visit exceptional, was our server, Jessica!! The vibe at Bartaco is already super chill, low stress and just being there encourages you to chill to the max. But Jessica took that to the next level. She was so cool, she anticipated all of our needs before they came. She had a sixth sense and could tell whenever we were wanting more drinks, tacos, elote, and everything else under the sun. First time! After you've looked at the menu you write your order down (check off) on the sheet of paper provided. We started with the guac + roja + verde. It comes with several corn tortillas and in three separate bowls. The guac is Amazing!! So creamy and fresh! The roja (red salsa) is a good mix of spicy and sweet. It tasted like it was made with pineapples and habanero peppers but it's packing a lot of heat. The verde (green salsa) had a great taste as well. Spicy but not as much as the roja. Baja fish - one piece of fried fish with chipotle slaw. Love the chipotle slaw!! Sesame ribeye - liked that one. Ribeye was quite as tender as I would have liked but still good. Duck - My first time having suck so you can take my opinion as you may. The duck itself wasn't all that tender. Had good flavoring, the sauce as excellent. I'm not sure of the exact toppings but it tasted like pickles ginger with carrots. Shrimp - definitely has some heat! It was described to us as an spicy orange sauce. Very good!
