I totally love this place. The tacos are super awesome, chicken is full flavored, nice and juicy. The cucumber salads (on the spicy side) and the plantains are the best. Definitely a must have. I'm not one to experiment with food. But i'm so happy I tried this place. I eat here every chance I get. Food is great, prices are good, service is excellent. I like that management goes around to the tables to ask if we need anything or if we're ok. Definitely a plus for me. It gets really crowded on weekends and can be a bit noisy. Pretty decen food- small portions for a great early dinner. LOVE the rice bowls ($7) here with duck!!! its so fresh it tastes amazin. We came here once and have been back several times! My only complaint is that the margaritas, while very fresh tasting and delicious, are kind of small for the price that you pay. The food is delicious, I love the rib-eye tacos and my fiancée is all about the fish tacos. Very fun to try more uncommon tacos like the boar and the duck. The staff is very laid back and cool, and food comes out fast alos. Very unique atmosphere, especially the way you order food. Will definitely be back in the summer time! read more

I was extremely impressed by the manager Chip. I went to the Stamford location last Saturday and it was extremely busy. Chip went out of his way to greet my family and I and sat us in a timely manner with a packed restaurant. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Stamford. Awesome food, great service and amazing drinks - especially the margaritas! Haven't had a taco here that I didn't like, and the sides, like corn and plantains, plus the churros for dessert, put it over the top. I loved the comfortable casual atmosphere and the booths were very comfortable. Girls night out :). We had a special drink with pineapple, jalapeños and vodka surprisingly refreshing. The best taco was the Baja fish taco , I didn't like the seasoning on the chicken taco or the cheese on the corn but the gucamole was delicious and the pork n beans were amazing. I came to Bartaco because I was staying at the Marriot across the street. I was lucky that Summer Street had so many options. I came into Bartaco with a friend and was very pleasantly surprised. The food, portions, service, and interior of Bartaco are all great. We ordered a combination of tacos, bowls, and appetizers that were delicious and excellently portioned. While the food is moderately pricey given the portion sizes, I don't think the prices will surprise anyone seeking a restaurant in Stamford. The portions are not overwhelming and just the right size so that you can try out many dishes. I like that the service is quick and efficient because of the clever flag system that they have set up at each table. Definitely a recommend and would come back here if I were in Stamford again. read more

CHECK YOUR BILL! I've been three times and each time I was overcharged about twenty bucks. The last time though, they overcharged us by 60 bucks! After a lengthy argument with the attitude stricken bartender we were finally able to get the manager, who had even MORE attitude. In the end, they were wrong and fixed the bill. They never apologized, didn't give us a taco wooden coin, and were real jerks about it. Too bad, I'll never go back. I like to relax when I go out, not have to worry about being over charged. read more

The staff here was awesome on a snow day. I was alone on a work trip and a little bored, but Chip, the manager, came over and started chatting with me. He was very friendly and brought over some extra tacos and then some chips and guac. It was a snow day and the place was unusually empty, even for snow day, according to Chip. Overall, the food was very good, and I am really glad I got the three extra tacos because they are a bit smaller than I am accustomed to. The bartender was also really cute! I came to Bartaco last week for the first time and it was the most wonderful time I've ever had at a bar....EVER. The staff seemed really nice. My bartender Gene was amazing. He greeted us almost immediately and made us feel very at home. Our drinks were amazing. It seemed pretty busy behind the bar but that didn't stop him from checking in on us and making sure our section was cleared of debris. He recommended the pork belly tacos and the tuna poke which were both amazing. The only thing we didn't like was the amount of trays we had in front of us. Maybe the kitchen should consolidate the food before sending it out. We enjoyed the keylime pie at the end of our meal and I have to say, that Jar is a really good idea. All in all, we had a really great time. We will definitely be back thanks to Gene and the amazing food. read more

I was in Bartaco on a Saturday night for dinner - and it was BUSY. I thought the place had a great, fun vibe...even though it was a little too loud to really talk. I guess that shows I am getting old. Anyway, I have a food allergy and they were very accommodating...they would have gotten 5 stars from me (even with the noise) if they hadn't brought my food with the allergen in it on the first try. They got 4 stars instead of 3 for fixing the error right away, and being very nice about it. Overall, it is a fun place to go - and I would go again. read more

Please be careful with credit cards at the bar area. I was double charged for my bar and dinner invoice. I called and emailed and the managers apologized for the mistake and never gave me a credit. Bar Taco never fails to please and the service is always great! Went here on a Tuesday as usual pretty busy but the food and the staff have me coming back every time. Margarita's are great, freshly squeezed lime juice. I love the bar taco chopped salad, seasame ribeye rice bowl, fried oyster taco, Veracruz taco, and of course plantains!! I stumbled upon this place on yelp and then again when walking downtown stamford. My boyfriend and I decided to give it a shot and I'm glad we did. It had a feeling of being at an outdoor tiki bar in the summer and the staff was very pleasant. We started at the bar with drinks, as we had to wait for a table. The drinks are made with freshly squeezed juices, and my mojito was amazing!!! Their method of ordering is very unique, giving you the ability to fill out little cards with your order and then put them in a stand for the waitress to take. It creates a feeling of not being rushed because if you don't have a card up they don't really bother you. The food was very good, we ordered the tray to share and were happy with everything that was included. Overall great experience, great food and delicous drinks. Usually go to the bartaco in port Chester and that's where we will continue to go from now on. Decided to try out the bartaco in Stamford one rainy afternoon. When we walked in there was only one other table seated, so we figured we'd be taken care of pretty promptly. After being seated, we placed a drink order and shortly after filled out a order card. The food came out promptly and tasted as good as we remembered, however we were able to place our food order and receive not only our appetizer, but main food choice AND finish eating it before receiving our drinks. Like I said, it wasn't busy, and we watched as the staff (manager included) openly messed around on their phones with Snapchat rather than focusing on the one tables drink order that they had. After finally watching for them to make our drinks, I personally watched another staff member (not even a bar tender) take several straw sips out of our drinks! Listed, taking ONE straw sip to see how the drink came out is one thing but he literally double dipped his straw into my drink and tasted it right in front of his manager and that was just ok! So gross! When our first round of drinks finally arrived, after finishing our meal, we immediately asked the manager for the check and then watched him completely ignore us, not tell our server or anything. Waited another 20 mins before our server came back, and then closed out (not the servers fault since his manager never even told him we wanted to check out). We definitely would have been a table to order several drinks and spend money there had the experience and service not been so terrible. Rule #1 in the service industry is to get a table their drinks ASAP so they keep spending money, so bartaco really messed up there by snap chatting instead. read more

We went in Saturday night and had the best time. It was crowded so we sat at the bar and were glad we did! The bartenders were pleasant and outgoing, even making suggestions, which we took (go for the Sanguina and Old Timer).
