Look, I went on Valentine's Day and this place was a disaster. This was my 3rd time patronizing the Barton G chain, twice here in Miami and once in LA, never made it to my local Chicago location when it was open. Here's the deal, I went through the proper channels by properly scheduling a reservation, confirming and even arrived on time. The check in process was chaotic, it was filled with angry diners who had been there for 30 minutes to 1 hr waiting for their prescheduled reservations. When I walked up, I knew it would be a disaster if the people ahead of me were experiencing long wait times. While checking in periodically, we were dismissed by the hostess several times and pushed away with the rationalization that "they are seating people as they arrive". WHAT!!! What's the purpose of a reservation if you as a business don't have your customers adhere to your table time policy, OF COURSE IT IS GOING TO CAUSE A SNOWBALL EFFECT. Complete mismanagement of time and organization, on a day like Valentine's in such a prestigious establishment such a Barton G was a major a disappointment! After about 30-40 minutes with absolutely no compensation from Management, we were finally seated. :( The is valet. There is extremely tight indoor seating, thankfully everyone was kind about minor bumps here in there. There is outdoor seating as well. The server was amazing as well. Price point was cool. Music was great, kudos to the DJ/playlist. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT and all of the gimmicks won't disappoint! To anyone planning to come here, especially on a big holiday, expect delays and don't plan anything afterwards you might be here a while. read more

Amazing experience, top notch food and service. Every dish has a gimmick. The Sampras Salmon is served with a full-sized samaurai sword. The popcorn shrimp comes in a real popcorn machine. I honestly am in so much shock how quickly my anniversary dinner went down hill from the moment I arrived. First when we arrived we were seated outside and I immediately was unhappy. It's extremely humid out and pieces of vegetation from the trees around were falling all over my table and me. Not romantic nor was I about to spend my evening like this. The drinks were amazing. Their take on a lemon drop was so good! Highly recommend. The decor was lacking to me but the food presentation more than made up for it! Some of the most inventive food presentation I've ever experienced. I didn't expect the food to be as good as it was. The surf and turf was way to big for one person so buyer beware. And it's not Maine lobster so I wasn't a huge fan of the lobster. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and was very good. The seafood boil was phenomenal. It had the most amazing flavor! It was well seasoned. I throughly enjoyed it. I would absolutely get it again. I definitely want to save room for desert next time I visit as I wish I could've tried a dessert. My family and I went to this place on 10/26 to celebrate a birthday and from the time we walked in we received terrible service and were racially profiled. The waiter spoke to us in a rude manner the entire time and was very aggressive. He slammed our napkins on the table multiple times for no apparent reason. He continued to speak to us in a rude manner! He did not make eye contact with us at all and we were rushed when trying to place our orders. We gave them multiple chances until we got fed up and asked for our check so that we can pay for the drinks we received and go to another restaurant!!! They told us we could not leave because "our food" was ready, which was a lie. After having to go back and fourth with the very rude "staff and manager" they finally gave us our check, we paid it and left!!! Barton G Oct 21.22 a night to definitely remember i celebrated my 30th birthday with a group of 16 people and let's just say it was worth the 1hr drive and worth every penny that was spent . The food was top tier rather it being market price or not it was worth it the taste of everything was on point nobody complained or had to send anything back, from the drinks to the food to the excitement of the food presentation and ambiance was like a little show everything was back to back with surprises that have you in ouuu an ahh with recording and taking pictures this restaurant it self is a ambiance the service was great the waitress said waiters were so good and easy going with my guest anything they were not sure of the waiter helped or gave a recommendation to try . One dish In particular everyone couldn't stop talking about was the lobster Mac and cheese it was the absolute bomb filled with lobster big chunks at that with lots of cheese and baked very well that alone was worth its price for sure . It was served in a martini glass with dry ice popsicle full of alcohol and flavor. -The salmon was perfectly cooked, deliciously seasoned, and melted into my mouth. It was served with a cup of rice that was well seasoned and perhaps a vegetable... I truly can't remember -we ordered the Marie Antoinette and the money talks desserts. Money talks arrived first. It came with a giant $100 bill stand for decoration, a Lamborghini model car on a stand, and a gold bar. The gold bar was melted with a torch by the waiter and as it melted it gave off the smell of s'mores. They were multiple layers of chocolate, marshmallow, And graham cracker. The second dessert that arrived was the Marie Antoinette. When it came it was a show stopper. For effect, the top off of a female mannequin was placed on our table. It was my first time to Barton G's last night as we went with friends to celebrate their Anniversary and it's the perfect place for anniversary's & birthdays. Our waitress was Maritza and she was outstanding! Great service and excellent recommendations! So, they have their "specialty drinks" and they are not cheap (around $30 each), but you have to get one for the experience as their presentations are pretty cool. We ordered the Diamonds are Forever, Dead or Alive, and the Hawaiian Pimp Juice. All very good! For appetizers we got the popcorn shrimp which was ok, but what made it very good was the dipping sauce that it came with. We got the Lobster Pop Tarts which were excellent and they come out in a toaster like you would with regular pop tarts at home. Pretty neat presentation! These were my favorite as the lobster was very succulent when you take a bite and then dip into the accompanying dipping sauces for it. We also got their chopped salad with a green goddess dressing, but I/we all felt that the dressing was rather just plain and bland and needed more acidic to it. For entree's I got the Light'em Fried Snapper and it was ok as I felt it was a bit too dry though. My wife got the filet with the Mac N Cheese and she enjoyed it. Our friends got the Boo G Pasta which was very rich in flavor and their BBQ Short Ribs which had a great robust flavor to them. For desserts we got the Dollar Dollar Bill Y'all which was very rich and hit the spot after everything we had eaten to that point, but the Barton's Vintage Carnival took the cake IMO. The presentation is a like a little mini circus on wheels filled with fried Oreos, fried corn dog snickers, a red velvet funnel cake dusted in powdered sugar with a heap of Chocolate ice cream and like 4 delicious dipping sauces to dip pieces of the funnel cake into. We all had a fabulous time and highly recommend it for Special Occasions, but be ready to whip out some cash or plastic as it won't be your normal $200 nice dinner. I visited Barton G. at the end of August with a big group for dinner after not having been therein ages. Just as I remembered though, Barton G. is swanky. The place has a really opulent bar with comfortable seats, and I can see why people like to visit. Our reservation was on the earlier side, around 6:30 PM on a Saturday night, but by the time we finished our meal the place was slammed. The cocktail menu has some interesting options on it and the presentation is pretty sick, but the prices are absurd and i'm not really into spirits anyway, so I stuck with a glass of prosecco instead. As far as food goes, I got to try the STRIKE OUT SLIDERS which were decent. Although i'm allergic to shellfish, I did hear the LOBSTER POP-TARTS were excellent. For my entree, I had the ORANGE SALMON which was also just okay. I think I've made better salmon at home and I think that says a lot since I don't consider myself to be the best cook in town. But, I also got to try the SLOW BRAISED SHORT RIB which I thought was good. My favorite part of the whole meal was definitely the dessert. We ordered the THE OTHER BIG BIRD which is a layered chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse, and a praline feuilletine. We were literally served the whole entire cake. Not only was the presentation amazing, but the cake was DELICIOUS! It was the best chocolate cake I've had in a very long time. Overall, it was a nice experience and will remain a fond memory. Even though the food wasn't the best i'd tried, the ambiance, the presentation and the company made for a special night. We dined here this past Saturday night. Our friends treated us to celebrate our recent marriage. The restaurant is beautiful both inside and outside. We reserved an indoor table since the weather was rainy and humid. We enjoyed watching other people receive their food presented in dramatic fashion. The food is presented in unique dishes and bowls with artistic flair. Our table of four loved all of our food. My seared tuna with fried risotto balls stuffed with kimchi was delicious! Marks fried snapper and rice was amazing and we also loved the churro fries with special dipping sauce. The entire evening was magical. Our only mild issue was the noise level. Sorry! but not worth the hype! This is place is great if you want to take pictures of your food, but not actually enjoy the food. THE PLACE: Finding Bartons may be tricky, so keep an eye out. Parking sucks, as it is street parking or valet. In pictures I was very excited to go to Bartons, but upon arrival, I was not sat inside, but outside, in a corner by a rusty ceiling fan. It looked like we were in a backyard bbq, very disappointing, especially since I had already made a reservation. It was my boyfriends birthday and there were about 10 of us. THE FOOD: Bartons is known for their amazing presentation, the presentation did not disappoint, however, the food was just average. Nothing special here. WOW I'm VERY glad to have tried this place. We found it one night while taking shortcuts down the backstreets of the beach, when we noticed a long line of Ubers picking up and dropping off on a weekend. Before we got home I had Googled Barton G and then made a reservation (don't worry, I was a passenger so no texting while driving). This is the Miami outpost of a culinary empire with restaurants in Chicago and LA, plus a huge catering and event business. The food, staff and ambiance were all just perfect and made for a unique Miami Beach experience. Barton G. Weiss, the owner, started out as a professional ice skater. The restaurant feels like a quintuple lutz, with a back flip thrown in just for fun, executed perfectly. Perfect 10 from even the Russian judge! My partner in crime is mostly vegan, and they had some very good choices for both vegans and carnivores. The food was intensely good and perfectly prepared. The setting for the restaurant feels like a very high-class speakeasy with an exclusive behind-the-hedges vibe. Inside is beautifully decorated. The staff must have been hired from Ford Models, but were without exception smart and efficient. The front desk folks looked a little forbidding but were the sweetest I've ever seen in Miami. The patrons are good for a little people-watching. The price-point filters out the obnoxious fratboy types that frequent the beach. That leaves the beautiful folks, the foodies and aging gay boys who take shortcuts down West Avenue. Logistics to get here likely involve an Uber, since this mostly residential neighborhood is short on parking. Their valet is expensive, so take an Uber, unless you're staying in the Everglades. read more
