    $9 - one order: Turon (9/25")
    Kay O.

While waiting for my Kona coffee and crêpe, I was thinking I should get a little snack at this unique looking Filipino food truck. My co-teacher got some lumpia so I figured I would get an order of Turon. I honestly haven't had any since that one spot on East side shut down post pandemic. The order was $9 for 2 pieces of Turon, with a sauce, which was fine since I was thinking how big the pieces were from the East side spot. Lol when my order was ready, it was nice warm and crispy and smelled delicious! I was just kind of sad to see them as little snack sizes and it looked as if they cut the Saba Banana into eighths if not, quarter sizes. Hee. Fancy cutting? My co-teacher said that the lumpia was OK but nothing she couldn't make at home. Especially since she's Filipino. The Turon was good, but very small in size and the dipping sauce had a really good flavor! I wouldn't mind trying some other things on their menu, but I wish their Turon would have been bigger and maybe added some jackfruit inside..... since that's what I'm used to with that delicious banana caramel sauce. The ambience was fine, I had to ask a valet driver where I could park since their location is out in front of a hospital and there's no real parking area since it's the pick up section of the hospital. Lol.

Masarap! First time at the Barya Kitchen food truck last Friday for the Mexipino event at the flea market and we absolutely loved it. The line was never ending all night and we stood for about 30 minutes, totally worth the wait! Once we actually ordered the wait time for the food was pretty fast maybe 10 minutes at most. Food was piping hot, fresh and flavorful. Exactly what we were looking for at the night market . We ordered the combination plate: bistek and sisig, one of their specials the white adobo carnitas taco and the ube black sesame horchata. Everything was a solid 10/10. I've had ube horchata before, but never this good before, we think the black sesame added an extra layer of deliciousness to the drink. The meats: unctuous, tender, a flavor bomb. Everything complimented each other, I loved the crispness of the atchara. Also adored the way the shanghai lumpia was wrapped, so cute! The perfect bite. Their food truck alone would make me come back for a night market at the flea market. Next time, I'm ordering one of each dish. Thank you Barya Kitchen!

Waited 40 minutes to get to the front of the line for this food truck at Viva CalleSJ in Emma Prusch Park this past Sunday. Then another 5 minutes for my food to be ready. Service noticeably inefficient, the order line moved much slower than the lines at other food trucks and eateries at the event. Luckily, the food was delicious. Ordered the combination rice bowl serving some of my faves--beef bistek, pork sisig, and lumpia. The lumpia was nice and crunchy, filled with tasty ingredients, and the bistek and sisig were cooked nicely and had good flavor. Only issue was the bistek was chopped similarly to the sisig. If the meat is minced into such small pieces, at least give me a spoon to eat this with... this is a filipino spot right?!? Unfortunately, they only provided a fork (I'm filipino... I need both).

I had no idea I started following Barya on Instagram in 2021! Finally got to try them this past October at the Filipino & Mexican American Heritage month Oasis Makers Fair at the Tetra Hotel in Sunnyvale. WOW that's a mouthful, which is exactly what'll happen once you order Barya's freshly cooked grub! Made to order rice "bowls", lumpia, tacos, & more! Eats: *Pork Sisig Bowl *Beef Bistek Bowl *Combo with 2 lumpias *Birria Lumpia *Turon (banana lumpia with jackfruit dipping sauce) *Ube Black Sesame Horchata Order at the left window & pay with Venmo or Zelle to avoid a 3% credit card processing fee. I totally forgot last time. They'll hand you a buzzer to let you know when it's time to collect the goods at the right window. Customer service has always been courteous and efficient. Food comes out pretty quickly when there's no line. Expect a wait when it's busy of course. The sisig is a bit too fatty for my taste but I love the bistek! Chopped tender beef with a pan fried exterior served with hot steamed rice, sautéed onions, green onions, pickled red cabbage, and a lime wedge. Don't forget the crispy lumpia! Rolled like cigars and filled with tasty meat filling. Dunk it in sweet and sour sauce. The birria lumpia comes with warm consommé. Turon normally has langka (jackfruit) in it but Barya keeps it modern with a sweet dipping sauce instead! OMG get their ube black sesame horchata! It's not too sweet but super addicting. Sad to say I'm a Filipino that's not too into ube but I love this stuff! I am also a huge fan of black sesame and cinnamon rice milk so yeah. Can't wait to order from them again!

    Shanghai lumpia $14

Stopped by the San Jose's Westside Feast Fest and decided to try Barya Kitchen's truck. It was a very warm afternoon so I was grateful for the large canopy to stand under while I made up my mind on what to order. The menu is small and many items were sold out by the time I arrived. Opted for the Shanghai, lumpia and Turon. Customer service was good as I was greeted with a smile by both of the owners who work the truck. LUMPIA - 5 pieces for $14 These were tasty although pretty skinny and cooked to order so they were nice and hot. TURON - 2 pieces for $9. These were really good. I love banana desserts so I enjoyed these. Both items came with one itty bitty teeny tiny dippy sauce each. Would ask for more if I come back again. These were both tasty but way too expensive in my opinion. Over $25 for two very small appetizer items was a little shocking. I might give one of their meals a try if I stumble on this truck again but not sure I'd intentionally seek them out.

Tried the Birria Lumpias with consomme and the Pork Sisig. The Pork Sisig tasted more like dry version pork belly adobo. It was good but didn't have the sisig flavor which is usually a hint of sourness from lemon or mayo and a light spicy kick from jalapeno. Could not taste the Jack cheese from the lumpia filling. Meat was pretty muted that I could taste more of the wrapper. They were crispy. Some of the Lumpias had hollow sections, no meat filling. Consomme was good. Pretty pricey. But service was quick and staff were nice.

Couldn't resist getting the ube sesame horchata. It was sweet and you can definitely taste the sesame and ube flavor. It was too sweet for me even with the ice. There was a long line but service was quick probably because I only got the drink.

    Veggie lumpia and birria lumpia

One of my favorite places to get lumpia! I found out the lumpia are all individually hand rolled! They are so crunchy and juicy and delicious. Both the veggie and the birria lumpia are must haves!!

Rod and Selena are an amazing couple reppin the Filipino community with their awesome food. Sisig, bistek, birria and turon are a few of my faves. Watch out for their specials. If you ever see the beef salpicao, go for it.

Whenever I see Barya Kitchen's truck at an event, I don't care who else is there, I'm eating Filipino food. The owners, Rod & Selina, are the sweetest & such hard-working people! I'm always greeted by Selina at the window with a smile! Even during the summer events when it is hot as balls (& I know the inside of the truck is significantly hotter), I see them hustling to get those orders out. There is a reason they always have a line & sell out early on. My go-to order is the pork sisig rice bowl. For $20, you get a good amount of food that'll fill you up! I love the blend of flavors (the more vinegary, the better in my opinion) with the combination of rice (2 scoops) & side of pickled veggies. Their lumpia is also a great option for a snack. You can definitely tell that they make everything by hand & they're not skimping out by selling those frozen grocery store ones. I always look forward to seeing their truck at events & can't wait to see them again soon!

I tried Barya Kitchen a couple weeks ago when they came to Stanford and I was SO impressed. I got a birria taco and an order of lumpia. The food came out fairly quickly which I appreciated. This lumpia was the BEST I've ever had. Absolutely delicious, no notes. They were hot, they were fresh, and the flavor was amazing. The taco was really delicious as well. I would definitely say the prices are well worth it at this food truck as the food is really high quality!

Barya had a food truck at our local block party and we enjoyed their food! * Ube Sesame Horchata ($5.00) - 4.5 stars I saw someone else holding this drink and it looks so good, even though I'd already made our lunch order, I got back in line just to get this drink. * Pork siopao ($3.00) - 3.5 stars The bun was very soft and tasty. * Quesabirria Taco, single ($6.00) - 4 stars Full of flavor and meat. A little overpriced for a single taco. * BARYA Turon 2 pcs ($9.00) - 4 stars A tasty sweet take on an egg roll!

i just wanna try it,but not good taste liked adobo totally not sisig at all.

There weren't that many options of sauces when I ate here but it was fine. The birrias and lengua tacos were so good. All the tacos came with two small tortillas to hold in the heaping amount of meat. The horchata here is had more cream than I'm used to. Like more milk was added or something, not enough spices or flavors added in IMO. Ordering was easy, I felt rushed, but it was the waiting to hear my number that was difficult. Listening for the number in the dining area while the music was blasting was difficult, so it's better to wait by the truck. These are easily some of the best tacos in San Jose, and I don't say that lightly given how much competition there is in the South Bay. But the drinks alone might be worth the trip. Their Horchata and Agua Fresca are genuinely among the best I've had anywhere in the Bay Area and that's a real statement in a region with no shortage of excellent options. The salsa bar is a nice bonus: a self-serve setup where you scoop what you want into containers, and they send you off with baggies of fresh cilantro and onion so you can finish the tacos exactly how you like them.
