This place has had some seriously bad reviews. The sales person said they came out of a period of expansion to new stores and post Covid supply chain issues. I was a little reluctant but we had a wonderful experience with Sean. Very helpful and he knows the products well. Very Attentive... Up to Your Payment. Ordered an $1,800 dishwasher, first in what we hoped would be a series of purchases for a full appliance kitchen remodel. We were told it would arrive within two weeks -- great, we paid and waited. Two weeks later... no dishwasher, no call. We called and were told it was "loaded and on the way." Another week passes -- no update. I call again and am told, "Your sales rep is on paternity leave; I'll email him." Excuse me? No one else can tell me where my order is? Apparently not. Two more weeks go by, and finally we're told the dishwasher is ready for pickup -- at the Lake Oswego store. We show up... nope, it's not there. It's sitting in Portland at their Highway 30 outlet. This was supposed to be our first of many purchases for a full kitchen remodel. After this experience, the remaining $20,000 of our remodel budget will be spent elsewhere. No follow-up, no accountability, and absolutely zero customer service once they have your payment. Calls go unanswered, updates never come, and the staff couldn't be less helpful or apologetic. My second and last purchase from Basco Lake Oswego. First one was delayed because the truck only comes down from Seattle once a week. And then it snowed. Oh, my. This time I bought a range July 31. There were 4 in Seattle. Should be 10 days. That came and went. August 28. Nope. Checked Friday and still not shipped. Canceled the order. Called today for status of refund. Not processed yet! Needed a new gas stovetop with downdraft for kitchen island. Joe Schacher from BASCO was amazing! Joe's customer service and seeing to my needs was outstanding. Have never received this level of service from any of the other appliance companies in the Portland area. Without going into the store Joe provided options via text for a range of cooktops and we chose the Jenn Air JGD3430GS05. Works and looks great. After installation we noticed a few days later the dials were slightly off center. After contacting Joe, whom contacted Jenn Air, within a few days a technician from Appliance Hospital came and was able to resolve the issue. From start to finish Joe was there to make sure the customer was completely happy. I highly recommend Joe & BASCO for your appliance needs. read more

Basco Lake Oswego I have heard saying the saying the customer is always right. I have also heard the customer is not always right but always the customer. Sometimes a business forgets both. Basco seems to be one of those businesses. Delivery is a 0 star Store ambiance is a 3 star Value for your dollar is a 3 star Salesman is a 4 star Let's start at the bottom and work our way up. Salesman, Aaron N, he's cheerful and always ready to tackle any problems that arise. He knows how to adapt to each customer. He finds a common thread and leans into it. With me, it was the Chicago Cubs. We discuss baseball every time I visit the store. When I find someone good, I tend to keep using that source. This is why I have purchased several items at Basco over the last year. When I pick up the phone, Aaron always makes it happen. We have had a couple of mishaps with ordering, however, all it takes is one phone call and Aaron fixes the hiccup. Value, that's very relative. I have purchased Viking, Wolf, Cove and Sub Zero. Not everyone will agree that these are good values, however the price point from Basco was within range of every other store and most websites. The store's ambiance is smooth. You walk in the front door to a table with candy and dog treats. There's a small refrigerator with bottled water for guest. The bullpen, as I call it, where all the sales team sit is a little boring and could use a update or reconfiguration. There are enough brands around for looking at products, but somehow the store always feels a little incomplete. I'm not sure what needs to be done to warm it up, but it could use a small refresh. Delivery, here's where the failure and improvement are greatly needed. The delivery team arrived at my driveway to unload the Wolf 36-inch oven (Model # GR366). The lead asked me to show him where the product was going in the house, and I said sure. We arrived at the front door, and I asked him to take off his shoes and I proceeded to keep walking. When I stopped to show him the location to place the cardboard for delivery, I noticed he did not take off his shoes nor had he indicated that he was not going to or that it would be a problem to accommodate that request. The guys used a hand cart to move the oven from the truck down the driveway and again I mentioned we have hardwood floors and that I did not want things on the floor. When they arrived at the door, my wife kindly asked them to remove their shoes, or provided the option to wear shoe covers. We have industrial covers for the tradesmen anytime that they come into the house. The lead delivery guy barked at my wife stating that it's unsafe to carry the oven with shoe covers or socks because if they trip or slip it would cause more damage to the floors than their shoes. First don't yell at any customer. Second, I'm calling bullshit on the shoe covers. The third penalty was he then walked in and placed a three stack of stove top grills onto my wood dining table. I asked him to take them off and he said, "they're covered in styrofoam". I informed him that you never place any product on someone's furniture and to please get out of my house. I told the delivery team to keep the product and not to deliver it, however since our kitchen was in the middle of the build process, the wife wanted it delivered. All three guys proceeded to bring in the oven, shoes, and all. We have had over 20 deliveries from other companies where guys have carried large heavy furniture to furnaces through the house and yet somehow have managed to wear the industrial shoe covers with no problems. I'm not sure why Basco refuses to get it right. The guys left two 220W cables at the house for the Wolfe Range however, the oven is 110w. The delivery guys specifically told my wife the knobs were located in a box inside the range itself. There were not there, inside the box was the oven racks. No one at the company knew where the knobs were located, so Aaron spent another day chasing down knobs for us. It turns out the cord and knob were located packed in the grill of the styrofoam. Amazing no one at the company knew this. When I contacted Aaron during this ordeal, he informed me that the owner of the company would give me a call. It's been over 72 hours, so I guess that's another failure from the customer service side. Unfortunately, I must take my business elsewhere even though Aaron tries to patch up the problems. There's not much he can do at this point after being blatantly disrespected in my home. The first step is admitting they have a problem. This seems to be a problem for their leadership. You must lead from the top down, so I suspect leadership doesn't care about the long history of serving on their website. read more

We bought expensive Miele dishwasher several months ago from Basco. It has not worked for over 3 months. Basco notified several times and we were told we were priority and they would escalate and help. To date, lip service. I would strongly recommend not buying Miele and not buying from Basco who have no post sales support or follow through. Local Miele service extremely limited. read more

I had the impression Basco's was the pinnacle appliance company in the NW. Unfortunately after two separate experiences, I have realized they are just awful. Zero communication (it was even hard to PLACE orders- both quite large dollar amounts)- let alone EVER get updates after MONTHS of waiting- leaving several voicemails and emails which never went answered. How is this acceptable? First order ultimately canceled the last item after 7 months - second time thinking perhaps it was a fluke with the salesperson - have realized it is absolutely not. Zero communication, follow up, to the point where I had to physically drive there and walk into the store to get any updates. My wife and I were extremely pleased with the awesome job the installers did. John Avila, José Garcia, and Max Elliot went above and beyond our expectations! Our cabinet space for the refrigerator was not level, so the guys had to make the fridge fit just right into the space. They took their time to make sure it met our high standards. We were just as pleased with the service from our salesperson, Sean Marnil. He answered all our questions and recommended the best washer, dryer, and refrigerator for our new home. He was quick to respond to our calls. He was friendly, personable, and professional. Basco will be our go-to store whenever we need to buy any appliances in the future! read more

Why is it so hard to buy appliances In our area? I started at Standard as the president offered an incentive to visit. My "right hand man" to the branch boss tried his best to sell anything with absolutely no clue to our needs, not even a question. Not to be a snob but my wife and I enjoy cooking together and we're looking for a quality component(s) for our kitchen. Next was Basco right next to our neighborhood Trader Joe's. Same thing, candy and dog treats, the receptionist greeted us with a yawn, seemly amazed that someone, anyone, would just walk in off the street just asking for anyone with half a brain to stop and chat about all things appliances. No such luck, Chris was a total wholesale builder computer geek with no interpersonal skills in the least. We left went home and ordered direct. I'll take my chances. BUT a word to the wise do your homework, local Standard Home Depot Lowe's trade in a high margin low cost negotiation of floor models.. don't be dazzled. read more

For a company founded by the Cronin family of Portland, Oregon, I am disheartened by my recent experience with this company. I chose BASCO knowing it would probably be more expensive, but I truly wanted a good experience and a good customer relationship. It's taken me 8 years to save up for this purchase so I wanted it to feel appreciated. That...did not happen. I chose exactly what I wanted in one of their displays in their showroom. I wanted the FULL kitchen package of appliances! I ordered it that day, and put half the downpayment down leaving the store with high hopes! What I got in return? ..... No follow up communication, none! No return phone call, crickets. I wait 4 weeks and finally called myself. Apparently, 3 of the 4 appliances were in and ready to be delivered. My sales rep 'was not in' so I asked the receptionist about delivery. She gave me the voicemail of my sales rep. I left a message asking for clarification. I asked about receiving a phone call back. Nothing. I called the receptionist again the next day and was told 'your sales rep is away from her desk'. When I asked when she'd be back, I'd like to call then. Oh my....the answer then changed to 'I'm not sure when she's coming back she's out for surgery'. I wanted to know if there was anyone else I could talk to! She said 'no' and set a delivery date if I wanted the pieces that were in stock. Gee, yes I do want the appliances don't you think?!?! No one offered me answers on the rebates, so I looked up the website that was forwarded. My original sales person never spoke to me again, ever. Come to the day of my delivery, it was I that noticed a different model number on the order. On my own I discovered my order had a TYPO and they were about to deliver a refrigerator I did not choose. I called the store, left 3 emails reaching out, before researching the manager and emailing him directly. When the manager called the day of my delivery, he gave me 3 minutes of his time saying..."Yes, those mistakes were made. Yes, it's the wrong refrigerator." No apology. I asked him how he'd like to fix the problem and his response...."Want your money back". I responded 'WOW'. 'Yes, I guess so.' After 4 weeks of waiting, that was his option to fix the problem. I took my $10,000, made 2 phone calls to find the items I wanted and purchased the exact order from somewhere else. 15 days later, the entire set has arrived. BASCO's own manager told me 'even without the TYPO, the fridge you want is probably not available until December'. This store must be doing so much business they didn't need or even care about my business order. Very disappointed. Not family friendly, and the Cronin legacy would not be proud of any of you. read more

After five and one-half months, our Cafe oven finally arrived. However, once it was installed, the technician determined the racks were defective and didn't fit the oven. Throughout our experience, multiple calls and emails went unanswered by various employees of BASCO Appliances. It was only after the CEO of BASCO stepped in that our problems were acknowledged. We are still awaiting new racks for our $5,000 oven. Please don't relive our frustrations. Take your business elsewhere. read more

terrible customer service, no communication as to when the appliances arrived. i finally contacted them and was told oh all your appliances are here you just need to schedule your delivery. not sure how many moremonths would have gone on had i not contacted them first. no one would ever answer my question about how long they had been sitting in their warehouse. the salesman tried to make this my fault. apparently when they get the sale and collect all their money customer service/communication is no longer a priority. i would never recommend them or will i ever purchase appliances from them again. you pay more and get terrible customer service - i would not recommend them. read more
