We needed a new washer and dryer in a hurry. I inquired about the washer/dryer set I was interested in, which was available. Was just hoping they could match the price I had found online. But then Dave at Basco recommended that I take a look at a higher-end sets they had ordered at a special bulk buy of some kind. The set was less money for more features and capacity. He arranged for delivery and set up exactly when we needed it. But then I was silly and made a big mistake... I didn't realize until AFTER the installers left, that the placement was inconvenient for how the doors opened. Dave arranged to have the installers come back and move the washer and dryer and they work perfectly. I love that Basco is a local company, and the customer service has made me a loyal customer. Huck Cronin was helpful, informative and had a depth of knowledge about all the appliances I was investigating. He pointed out features of each brand and what was a great buy. When we had an "issue" arise as our cabinets were installed 3" too narrow to accommodate our purchased refrigerator, he was helpful in identifying a replacement refrigerator. I can't say enough good things about their helpfulness, service and delivery. We were looking for a new washer and dryer--an expensive purchase. First, my husband spoke to Tim Gruwell. He answered all of our questions honestly--including why their prices and delivery were $300 less than other places considered. (They do more volume.) When the day arrived to bring out the old and bring in the new, Richard and Fabian were so careful not to make a mark on our oak bannister, stairs or our walls. I'd never seen the attention to care and consideration that these two men took. Our basement stairwell is quite narrow and these two gentlemen handled it with aplomb! I was so impressed. A word about Kenneth, the lead on this project. He was the ultimate professional: answered all our questions, made sure everything was right before even having the guys bring the washer/dryer down. Working in the customer service industry for over 20 years, I was really hoping that we would be leaving as a satisfied customer, both from the experience of the product as well as the service. Purchasing a non-functioning stove was NOT our intention when we purchased a brand new product from Basco. It started from the rude delivery people, delayed repairs, the inability of them to repair the product due to not having the parts the first time, poor customer service from the technician, the time away from work (8 hours), high costs of take-out foods for over 20 days, a repaired stove with "scratches" (from the parts the technician received in) that I didn't even get to make, one Basco Manager telling us "he would just order us a replacement stove" while the other one telling us they have to go through the companies policy of trying to get it fixed first, etc. Had I intentionally purchased a floor model with scratches I would have expected a normal 10% discount. In fact, I even tried to purchase the floor model and Dusty (who I can actually say was great) could not sell me the floor model as there could be issues with the stove due to everyone playing with the knobs, etc. I'm sure the floor model would have worked better and purchasing a floor model would have been a risk we would have taken, expecting something to go wrong and we would not been upset had something been wrong, but not a brand new product right out of the box. We would have even accepted that they ordered another stove in and took the defective stove back and they could have dealt with the warranty piece, had it fixed and resold in their warehouse sale just like all other returned products, but this WAS NOT an option. We expected a 20-25% discount; a 13.6% discount (which barely covered my missed wages) is contemptuous; being able to work "outside" the company policy because my stove company won't be compensating Basco for my inconvenience. Oh but Basco wanted to apologize to me about the inconvenience which is weird because my inconvenience has also been their inconvenience. The only thing their company was out is the manager's personal inconvenience of having to deal with this and the poor reviews that I will have to give, which apparently doesn't mean anything for the company, not to mention the two sales that my two co-workers have already picked out for their remodeling. I did my review research prior to purchasing and took the 50/50 chance that the people who commented were just dissatisfied people but of the people who don't typically write a review this was something I was not willing to accept. However, take note that should you purchase something from Basco and it is not to your satisfaction, Basco does not have a customer service satisfaction policy. Their only policy is the warranty policy of the manufacturer and they only stand behind that. read more

The sales team here does not honor its word and agreements with their customers. Had to replace our refrigerator as it broke down. Looked to replace it with a sub-zero fridge which would also cause us to replace all other appliances because they were all old and with a white cover/finish. Went to Basco and negotiated a deal in which they would give us free delivery and install if we purchased all the planned appliances from them. We purchased the fridge first because we urgently needed a fridge. It was delivered and installed as planned. We then went to purchase the other items and they reneged on their pledge to give us free shipping and install. Very dishonest business... We went with Standard TV and Appliance which gave us free shipping and install. I know there are not many options in Portland for high end appliances, but you should give your hard earned money to a business that is a standup business. Avoid Basco... read more

We were having problems with another dealer, who neglected to tell us that our stove was not going to be available for eight weeks, after saying that it was in stock. Dusty at Basco rearranged an incoming delivery and had a stove for us in four days. In place, and not a single contractor was affected. Now that's service. read more

Basco is great store. A huge selection of high end appliances that are hooked up so you can try them. We worked with Dusty who was awesome. Basco offers low pressure yet informative sales with competitive prices. We did have one small glitch, but Dusty took care of us immediately. I recommend them! read more

FFFFFF if there was a lower grade i would give it. I ordered a refrigerator in september to be delivered before i move in to my new place. "no problem we will have it in 3 weeks" is what the sales person told me. I am now using a coleman cooler on a daily basis. its december 12 weeks after i ordered my refrigerator. we have had 4 ship dates so far. The response every time has been "it didn't make the truck". Huck was incredibly helpful. I am not local to Basco and have been looking for a very hard to find discontinued appliance for weeks on line all over the country. Huck kept in touch with me, located the product in Basco inventory and personally made sure it was extra securely packed. He even drove it to UPS himself and shipped it to me the very same day. Huck also sent photos of the box, an invoice for my records and the tracking number for the shipment. I am grateful for his very kind assistance and looking forward to receiving my new product. We recently finished a major kitchen remodel. We had the space to have 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers, a cooktop and a full sized side by side refrigerator and freezer. I did shop around but ended up at BASCO, as I knew I would. Although I had never purchased anything from them in the past, I was familiar with their showroom as they had donated their "kitchen's" to a school fundraiser for an international cooking event. We could see first hand how the appliances worked. As we shopped, I really appreciated the honesty of the salesman as the cooktop had been known to have some panel issues in the past. I liked the look and wanted it anyway so they include an extended 5 year warranty. I was very impressed that this did this voluntarily. As feared, the panel has gone out 2x since our purchase and Brad Brown, the Customer Services Manager, had a scheduled appointment to come to fix it before I even hung up the phone. The issue was fixed immediately and Brad followed with a phone call a bit after to check in. I really appreciated his attention to our matter. 1.5 years later our handles on our ovens were loose. Our handyman tried to fix it and accidentally shattered the glass on the oven door. Even though I knew we were out of warranty I called Brad for suggestions. He said he'd make a call to his Electrolux rep and before I knew it a new oven door was on its way, at no charge. He called to check in on the progress of the delivery and install. I was so appreciative that he bent over backwards to get us a new door, even though he didn't have to do this. I will recommend BASCO to anyone in the market for any appliance and I will praise Brad for his continued hard work and promptness in getting every issue we've ever had fixed and resolved immediately. read more

We ordered a stove and a Best down draft from Michael. He had assured us that the pieces needed to complete the installation of the down draft were things that could be sourced locally. 3 weeks later when I called for delivery, Michael told me that we still needed to order the other down draft parts and they were 2 weeks out. He said he hadn't heard from the installer telling him what we needed. The installer told me he had talked to Michael 2 weeks before that and told him what we needed. When they delivered the stove, some of the ducting for the down draft was delivered- no down draft. When I inquired the warehouse guy told me that when they pulled the unit(that had been sitting in their warehouse for 3 weeks) was defective and they had one coming from Seattle and it would've delivered 1st thing in the morning. When I called at 10 the next morning Michael called the warehouse, the pulled it and delivered. It's now 2 weeks since the "locally sourced parts" were ordered, one had come in the other is special order from Best and is 3 weeks out. I will have 3 charges from the installer for extra trips. To make things more frustrating is Michael does think it important to return phone calls. Terrible customer service read more

Was fortunate enough to find the exact model of double-wall oven I've been wanting included in the warehouse sale. Checked the Outlet area of the website, called the warehouse on availability, found out it was still installed in a showroom kitchen, and put it on a no-commit hold. It is in perfect condition so we bought it at a significant discount. The showroom people and Huck at the warehouse were all friendly, professional, and kept in close communication with follow-up calls. Wish I had gone to Basco before buying my other appliances. I am with Shelley V. Great customer service up front but seriously lacking post sale. Dishwasher was not working. 2 months later it is still not working. After waiting for a repairman and BOSCH telling me it needed to be replaced. I was told Bosch would need the report from appliance repair and proof of purchase. Asked Brad for help. Brad told me appliance repair had not sent in their report, that he would get the report and send in both documents. 10 days later I had not heard from anyone about getting my new dishwasher. I called manufacturer to find out the status. Was told they had paperwork from appliance repair but still waiting on proof of purchase that Brad said he would send them. Now why would Brad send one report but not the other? hmmmmm...... read more

I visited showroom 9/13/14 looking for replacement dual oven. Spoke with Michael Z. We discussed 3 possible replacements. 9/20/14 called him and placed an order after reviewing and deciding on the best fit, my credit card information was taken for the entire price. He told me he would call me the next Wednesday after making the order 9/24/14, with the delivery date of 10/1/14. I also forwarded my contractor information and phone number for the installation. He never did call back to confirm. Does one see a pattern with this company. Great reviews from some but poor reviews and being ignored by BASCO by others. My contractor called and was placed on hold and no one ever picked up. I finally called again and was told my order would not be available for pick up October 10th. I called BASCO and asked to speak to Office Manager about this poor service. I spoke with Tim Gruelle (not sure of the spelling) on September 30. I explained the entire scenario. I discussed the poor service and lack of communication and the now very later delivery of oven I needed to replace and the promised dates. He apologized for the poor service. I told him that my contractor and I feel that we should be treated the same as any other customer, even if we were not redoing the entire house. He agreed and said he would look into the oven issue and get back to me later that day or next day. He never called back. The next day at 12:30 PM I left a message as he was in a meeting. When he finally called back he said he had been very busy and had not found a suitable oven. I told him to cancel my order, I did not want to hear any excuse. I feel this company only caters to certain clients and contractors. I would be very wary of doing business with this company they are not trustworthy and not dependable. If you are not a high roller and someone he may be doing repeat business you probabably would be treated better elsewhere. Buyer be ware! read more

we have purchased every single appliance we needed for the last 10 years from BASCO, spending around $50k in total. the last experience was the worse. we were given a 12% discount on around $30k of appliances on paper. we got a lot of the appliances at the warehouse sale but did not purchase everything we needed at the warehouse sale and instead purchased 4 items at the retail store, thinking we would still get the 12% discount on the 4 retail items but never got the 12% discount on the retail items. they determined because we already got discounted prices from the warehouse sale we should not get a discount on the retail side for the retail items, that we saved a lot of money already. the warehouse sale is open to everyone. everyone that goes gets to pay the same discounted price on the items and there is no negotiation and no special favors. what you see is what you get. they are open boxed items or last year's model or used items or floor models. we didn't mind that and bought some of these items. we were not informed at any time that our 12% discount on the retail side would simply go away because we found some items at the sale. no one ever told us that if you go to the sale and buy sale items, all the discounts go away when you buy our retail items. just because one goes to the sale and gets some of the items doesn't mean that the retail discount should all go away on the products bought at retail price at the retail store. the cost of the refrigerator and freezer alone is around $15k, so we lost 12% of that amount because the original estimate they gave me on paper was not honored. I have never had an experience like this where a company does not honor their word. read more

I suggested this company to a client and was very disappointed in the salesman and his manager. I've been a General Contractor for 26 years, and I've never encountered such an unwillingness to fix a problem they created. They sold my client 2 pieces of a Gaggenau cooktop, downdraft ensemble to replace her existing Gaggenau set. We were told it would work with the existing downdraft blower which is why my client decided to buy it. Upon receipt of the new products is was crystal clear the new would not go with the existing, causing my client to spend an additional couple thousand dollars to get the necessary 3rd piece. The salesman had the model and serial numbers of all, and delayed the original sale saying he wanted to make sure it would work. Well he said it would, and it most certainly won't. It was their very poor product knowledge that caused the problem and $2200 out of her pocket was her only solution. She didn't ask for the additional items for free, just at cost...they wouldn't even consider it. We all make mistakes but companies should own theirs not pass it on to the customer. With Bosco it's apparently buyer beware. read more
