This was the easiest appliance transaction we've ever had - and the most pleasant customer experience we've had anywhere within the past few months. We were helped by Jason - we went in Monday and the dishwasher was installed by Friday. Both my husband and I appreciated how knowledgable he was on the different dishwashers and we didn't feel any pressure to buy anything at all. We needed a panel ready dishwasher and they had options in stock and asked for multiple measurements to ensure it would fit the space and the panel. The first time I purchased an appliance from Basco, the experience was so good, I decided I would never buy an appliance anywhere else. I purchase kitchen appliances regularly for my business and have purchased all of my home's kitchen appliances from Basco. Prices are extremely competitive, but it's the selection and service that keep bringing me back. Huck, in sales, is always friendly, creative and helpful... and he's always there. It's really comforting working with the same person each time i come in. Huck recently went to bat for me during a nightmare service and repair situation with a large appliance manufacturer. When the manufacturer refused to do the right thing, Huck and Basco stepped up and did. And perhaps due to his initiative, the manufacturer appears to be coming to the table. The manufacturer lost a customer for life, but huck and Basco gained an even more loyal customer for life. A warning to those looking for appliances...think twice before considering Basco...we purchased $21,000 worth of kitchen appliances for a new construction home. Dealt with Henry who was helpful until we signed on the dotted line. Since then we have been charged for a microwave that we didn't order...and...we are 3 weeks from moving in and Henry at Basco says that he doesn't have anyone who will be available to install our appliances! However, he did include installation in his billing. So now our builder is scrambling on short notice to find someone who is capable of installing our Wolf appliances. This is an inexcusable nightmare of a way to do business! My advice...look elsewhere when purchasing high end appliances! read more

We purchased a Blomberg refrigerator from BASCO in July 2016. Unfortunately after a week the ice maker was not operating correctly. We called BASCO and they directed us to the warranty repair company. The warranty repair company, tried and tried and tried, a total of 7 visits over the course of 7 months. Culminating with the complete replacement of the ice maker. Unfortunately, this didn't resolve the problem. Finally, fed up with the problems I sent a letter to Huck Cronin at BASCO explaining the on-going problems, resolution steps taken, along with all the service visit details. I requested relief from BASCO. Huck Cronin was amazing and exemplifies what customer service should be. He called me the same day as receiving my letter and offered us either a full refund or store credit. Because he made the process so easy we picked out another fridge from BASCO, a Whirlpool, and the exchange was made about 1 week later. We've had the new fridge about a month now and it's worked flawlessly. We are incredibly pleased with our new fridge and truly grateful and impressed with the customer service of Huck Cronin. read more

What follows is a letter I forwarded a few days ago to the mid-level BASCO Appliances 'manager' --- who rudely insinuated himself into an e-mail exchange between me and a BASCO associate. Hoping to arrange a follow-up appointment with the associate, I had in mind to further discussions she and I had barely begun about my making the purchase of four or five handsome appliances. I'd hoped the associate and I would resume discussions where we had left off when the (mis-)manager very unprofessionally interrupted our exchange with a communication as discourteous as it was terse --- advising that Ms. ___ [name intentionally omitted] would not be able to 'help me' any further with my inquiries or my 'project.' (The 'manager' hadn't the slightest idea what the nature or extent of said 'project' might be; he had never spoken to me). There was no explanation, no 'excuse me'; no 'by your leave' or 'if you please.' There was not the slightest bit of professionalism about his communication; it was only coarse and ill-mannered. Never having met me, the man was presumptuously, inexplicably, and irrationally uncivil. I had never been so appalled in my life at so alarming an absence of professionalism on the part of anyone in a position of the kind he imagined himself worthy of occupying. Here is what I wrote [the good and courteous associate's name being omitted for obvious reasons]: Well, sir, I am insulted. I do not imagine myself be privy to all that goes on within the context of the enterprise you partially manage, but neither need I be aware of whatever intrigues may prevail, to be soundly insulted. I am. From my perspective your communication reads as indicative of your imagining me to be an individual with whose business you imagine it 'unwise' to trust Ms. ____ --- the very individual, by the way, who --- with openness, courtesy, and candor --- actually had been responsible for my beginning to trust BASCO in the first place. (That trust is not casually awarded. I spent ten years working with a major advertising agency in New York. There I was cordial with a great many of the major executives. I know business. They and I are still in touch.) I do not passively suffer insults. That is the first reason for my speaking as I do. The second is that you have just made a liar of me. Just yesterday morning, uncommonly pleased with the uncommonly courteous service Ms. ____ had extended to me --- amidst an obviously busy day she was putting in on BASCO's behalf, I internet-posted a glowing review of BASCO Appliances. I've no appetite for eating my words. I'm afraid, now that I think of it, that you've actually twice made a liar of me. My review concluded simply. 'I'll be going back,' it said. Now I won't be. When, as the sincere man I am, I reviewed BASCO, I had every intention of doing exactly what I had said I would upon concluding the review. Unfortunately for all concerned, I'd not the slightest warning that a slap in the face of the kind you've just dealt --- to both me and your employer --- was ever to serve as the kind of reward that apparently BASCO thinks fitting for those foolish enough to imagine they've discovered a place of real integrity. The owners of the property I manage purchased a new Speed Queen Washer from Basco a Week before I took over managing the property. After 6 weeks of having the machine on the property we were finally able to get the machine to turn on when someone put coins in. But we still didn't have a key to the coin box. Rob (our salesman) offered to sell a new coin box so we could have someone drill out the 7 week old coin box and replace it. after 5 months and no follow through I hired Coin Meter to drill out the old coin box replace it and provide us with a key, Long story short. Machine was delivered on June 11 and finally worked as promised on Nov. 3 with a key to empty the coin box. We only had to pay Basco for the new machine and then pay Coin Meter to fix it so we could use it. Yeah Coin Meter! read more

I purchased several appliances from the NW Davis location. I had visited at least six other same type stores, but Basco had the best selection and quality products not seen in other appliance stores. I think this is a wonderful store. However, what really is worthy of mention, is when things went wrong in the details of delivery and a few other issues, Craig, from the location in St. Helens stepped in and took over, making everything fall into place. He was so lovely (when I was very unsettled) and very gracious to take charge. His professionalism and extra efforts to help me out served Basco well, as I have directed many neighbors there. I am happy with the quality of my appliances. Our sales person, directed us to makes and models that matched the features we were looking for. I don't typically write reviews, however I had recently had night (horrible) and day (wonderful) experiences here - and the day (Kori Hasti) experience far EXCEEDED my expectations. I had originally been paired with Dusty Moore and found his lack of information while on the showroom floor and his follow-up trying to get a quote for the products I had selected, exceedingly painful. I am an architect and a rather competent person. I reached out several times to him without getting a response on a project with a pretty tight deadline. I also didn't realize his lack of knowledge on the appliances (or unwillingness to show me) until my next experience at the store. I was considering taking our business elsewhere, however, I called the store to see if I could try a different salesperson before making the decision to move on. Luckily, Kori answered the phone. She took the time to show me new products that I hadn't been shown previously, as well as walking me through the operations/pros/cons of each of the appliances I had selected. She always got back to me in a timely manner - and was EXTREMELY knowledgeable when it came to the technical questions of the appliances, their use, and their installation. I highly recommend saving yourself a headache and asking for Kori upon walking through the doors or with that first phone call. read more

Ordered a $3K fridge from Steve 5 weeks ago, charges my card, never calls me with an update on my order. After three weeks, I call him, he tells me one week, will call me to confirm. Doesn't. Two weeks later I call him. Fridge hasn't been ordered. 5 weeks have passed, I ask for a refund. Steve takes my card info, 5 days later still no refund on my card. I call and ask for a manager, have to leave a message. 5 days later no call back from manager. Have to call again! Transferred not to manager but someone at a computer who says they see the credit on my account, offers to process it. Geez. I'm out interest on my money and have no fridge. Not good. Follow up: On the day I got my refund, I asked for a manager to call me to discuss the poor service I got. Guess what? No call! read more

Recently remodeled the kitchen and decided on a higher end item for the new space. I could have gotten the same item online and saved a ton of money, but especially in this economy, I am trying to support the local businesses. Well, I shoulda purchased on line. First, the salesperson seemed like he would rather pick a fight with me than sell me an appliance. Sorry to have interrupted your day, but isn't this what you are there for? Yes, I know what I want, yes I am a smart professional and I have done my research, so don't give me that "I'm better than you" attitude when I'm spending a couple of grand on one appliance. I was very put off by the attitude and the lack of apology and follow up when the delivery date came near and my custom item had not arrived, setting my remodel plans back by a few weeks. I had to do the calling to find out where it was. Granted, I'm not a big builder and I did only spend 2K here, but, really? What happened to customer service? I guess when you work with contractors and builders all the time you don't have to have that skill. Oh, but the kicker was when they delivered my item to another house. Wow. Basco, huh? I really dislike Standard TV and Appliance (dishonest sales practices), so if I need a high end appliance to replace any of my current high end appliances, in the future, I'll be traveling to Seattle or San Francisco. WARNING!!! SHOPPING AT BASCO CAN BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH!! Symptoms include elevated blood pressure, high levels of stress - linked in the press to heart disease, stroke, early onset Alzheimer's, general bad mood. The following review is based on my recent experience in purchasing a wine refrigerator from BASCO. Pro's: - REALLY nice showroom. Great high-end appliance with displays that make you drool. Con's: - Price negotiation. Went in with my architect to get the "professional" price. When they quoted us their best price it was $250 higher than the first price we had just been given by Fuguson's down the road (without the pro discount). Showed them the competitive price and Basco matched it. Arranging Delivery: the item had to be shipped from the warehouse, so delivery was set a week out. The day before I get a call saying the item won't be arriving from the warehouse in time so we schedule for the following week. When I call that week to confirm I am told 'yes' it will be delivered. Then I get a call saying 'no' it did not come in and we don't know when it will arrive. Then I get another call saying 'yes' it will be delivered the next day. Actual Delivery: I was given the usual 2-hour window for delivery, stayed home from work, waited. At the end of the window I called and was told they had dropped it off with the doorman for building 3 hours ago. No call, no taking away my old appliance as we had agreed. I was left to figure out how to get this item into my condo and what to do with the old one. Follow up: I tried to call to "share" my experience with my Basco sales person and then the sales manager. In the middle of a week day - no one answers the phone. I wait and call back - no one answers the phone again. I write a review on Yelp. My recommendation - see the Basco showroom to get some ideas, buy someplace else and get a better price, better service, and reduce your stress! Good luck. read more

I went looking for a new washer & dryer. Started at Standard TV & Appliance and the guys there pushed pretty hard to get me to buy a Whirlpool Duet, which I did not want at all. Finally found a nice Bosch set in the clearance area that I put on hold. I stopped in at the Basco Outlet, just for kicks, to see the beautiful high end appliances, and found a better Bosch set for a better price. The man who runs the place, Huck, came over to check with me and told me that he had ANOTHER Bosch set for even less money! The set he pulled out for me was perfect, just the right size, and cost me $600 than I would have spent for something not quite right at Standard. Huck was great to work with. He didn't push me to buy anything. He let me look around on my own, opening doors and pushing buttons. He was extremely helpful answering all of my questions. I was so excited to discover that I could own high end appliances without having to spend thousands of dollars. They're delivering the washer & dryer to me on the day that I wanted (I'll let you know if anything went wrong!). BASCO APPLIANCES did a first class job for me and my wife. We live in a high end condominium and there are some constraints in our laundry room which means a stacked washer/dryer unit is required. I did quite a bit of checking around when it became necessary to replace our 12-year-old Maytag unit: Sears, Standard TV and Appliance and Maytag headquarters. Sears was a joke - call center somewhere in the USA. Standard was deficient in details re: price and delivery. Plus it was clear they'd prefer to sell something already in inventory, even if it really wasn't what my limitations required. Dusty Moore at Basco did an excellent job in pricing and in getting the delivery and installation handled. It was a pleasure to work with him. Even better was the installer he arranged: Ismael from Reliable. I'm retired, but I've built condominiums and apartments in the past. It's always a pleasure to deal with suppliers that actually perform in a professional manner. (Btw, I read the few negative reviews below and think that they're inaccurate in their assessment of Basco.) If/when we need any add'l appliances replaced, I can assure you that Basco will get the call. read more

sooo, on 09/14/18 i ordered a speed queen washing machine as the store did not have the one i wanted in stock. i spoke with a very chipper Chris who advised that the product would take about a week. when 2.5 weeks had passed i called the store and left a message for chris. crickets... after about 6 weeks with no contact from the store at all i emailed their main email address asking where my washer was and providing details. crickets. can i make that a 1/2 star? nope. a big fat indication of things to come when dealing with this company regarding my machine, right? read more

I bought a new Asko dishwasher here recently. I must say the guidance I received from Huck was spot on. I installed the new dishwasher and I am amazed at how quiet it is. I also bought it at as good a price as I could find on the internet. As I wash shopping for other appliances, Huck showed me the pricing he could find on the internet to assure me I would have a hard time finding a better price anywhere. The selection and expertise was greatly appreciated. He also is helping me get warranty service on an older appliance I bought at DIFFERENT retailer. They provided adequate service but I will be a repeat Basco customer from here on in. My wife and I visited Basco Appliances to purchase all our appliances for our new home we built. Our salesman was Dusty Moore and our initial experience was ok but from there on the customer service was less than desirable. We purchased all 8 KitchenAid appliances, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave, warming drawer, cook top, hood vent, and wine fridge. The day before our delivery we were notified our cook top had been damaged in shipping. We were told it would be two weeks before they could get a new one, they would not rush order one as they said it was out of their control. They offered a floor model which was a different brand which we wanted to keep everything matching. When the appliances arrived the warming drawer was broken and they had to send out a repair company, another week delay. They have 3 options for the end caps and they showed up with red and we ordered black. I have been trying to get the replacement end caps that we ordered for the last 5 weeks. I was assured they would be brought out by a courier 5 days ago and they still have not arrived. I have called and emailed Dusty with no response. I work in the real estate industry, with home builders and I would never recommend Basco Appliances!!! read more

Excellent appliance selection, knowledgeable sales people, once you place the order and they have your money, the lack of customer service and follow through is appalling. I ordered a new hood (Tratto), microwave and oven (both Bosch). I was told my Dusty, the sales rep, that the appliances would be delivered in approximately one week. We were starting a kitchen remodel with Neil Kelly and prompt delivery of the appliances would ensure an efficient remodel. Apparently, both the hood and oven were both back ordered by the manufacturer. This is certainly not Basco's fault. However, the total lack of communication regarding the back order was inexcusable. Dusty didn't bother to pick up the phone to notify either me or Neil Kelly project manager regarding the back order. When N.K. called to check on the delivery status, he was then informed about the back orders and given approximate delivery dates. I found out about the back order from N.K. not Basco. When the "approximate deliver dates" passed without appliances. Again, no call from Dusty. Therefore, when I happened to call Dusty to get new livery dates, it happened to be his day off. Therefore, I asked for his manager. The receptionist was very resistant to connect me with the sales manager, but eventually relented. I spoke with Robert Renfrow, Basco General Manager. He was very courteous even when I was providing critical feedback regarding Dusty's lack of communication. Robert did look into the delivery schedules and gave me new "approximate" delivery dates. Unfortunately, those new dates came and went without the appliances. Meanwhile, we did not have a functioning kitchen because N.K. removed all the existing appliances. Anyone that has undertaken a kitchen remodel can relate that the time between old and new appliance installs should be as short as possible. N.K. Removed the existing appliances due to Basco's assurances that the new appliances would be delivered. Unfortunately, this was not the case. During this waiting period, both the N.K. Project manager and I were calling Dusty for updates. Another week passed. When I called Robert, he informed me that the oven had been delivered and the hood "should be delivered the next day". Therefore, N.K. arranged for delivery. When the appliances were delivered to my home, I assumed this was the complete order. However, when we counted the boxes, we realized that the hood was still not delivered. Again, no communication from Dusty letting us know that the hood had yet to be delivered. Both myself and N.K. project manager called daily to get updates. Neither one of us ever received a pro-active call from Dusty. Finally, on Dusty's day off, the N.K. project manager called and spoke to the receptionist to find out the hood was finally received by Basco. Who knows when Basco would have actually called to inform us that the hood was delivered (approximately 6 weeks after the order was placed). Once we received all the appliances, I wrote a professional, yet critical email to Mr. Renfrow complaint about the total lack of customer service and outlining all the examples of the shortcomings. Silence....no response, apology, or anything from either Mr. Renfrow or Dusty. I complained to Neil Kelly about Basco's deficiencies. My N.K. designer spoke to Mr. Renfrow who assured her that he would call me to discuss the email. Silence again...no calls or emails in two weeks. I remain frustrated and disillusioned that a company such as Basco can have such a lack of customer service. In my opinion, since they require full payment upfront for the order, once the money is in their hands, they can care less whether the appliances get delivered or not. I would not recommend Basco for any future appliance purchases. Either buy from Eastbank Appliance or another appliance store...avoid Basco. read more

Absolutely excellent customer service from Brad Brown, Basco. Long story but a very high-end refrigerator we bought had a defective ice maker (from the factory) which kept destroying the mother board. There is now a class action suit pending against the ice maker manufacturer. However, they are only offering a very narrow refund of repair bills between a certain date and only $100. towards a new frig. The frig we bought was $3500.00 in 2011. Brad very generously is having a new control panel and user interface sent to us. All we have to pay is labor to install. I am assuming this solution will happen as promised. This review is for the Basco Outlet store. I went in to look for a fridge in a very specific size to fit into my 1970's cabinetry, and Chris, who helped me there, was so knowledgeable, he actually knew exactly what brands would fit my size cabinetry. He found a great Fisher Paykel for me, which he was able to discount slightly, and ordered it for me over the phone, after I went to double check that I couldn't find any other options at Home Depot. (I couldn't. His recommendation was the best one, and may I also mention- he told me what options would be best alternatives of the brands Home Depot might have as well) Then- prior to my new refrigerator arriving- we pulled our existing one away (by a couple inches) from the south facing wall where it had been set (we were having a crazy extended heat wave) and the freezer starting working again. I called Chris and left a message letting him know, and asking if it would be possible to cancel with a restocking fee, fully expecting him to say no... but he cancelled my order, and was so very nice about it. I have bought many appliances there before now, and will always continue to do so. I recommend them to all my friends. They are awesome. Could not recommend more highly. We recently purchased a sub-zero refrigerator from Basco Appliances. The sales process was easy, communication was excellent, and the delivery date was as expected. The best part was the actual delivery. Basco sent three people to uncrate and move the refrigerator into the house. We didn't request an installation as I was able to do that myself, but the delivery team they sent was the most careful delivery people we've ever had. ZERO for customer service. In Jan 2012 I purchased a Miele 18" dishwasher. I paid top dollar because I wanted this product. The dw works very well. But they forgot to ship the stainless steel front panel which was included in my price. (BASCO doesn't do the installation but they they work closely with firms that do.) In early February, the installer set up the dishwasher and noted the missing part, which doesn't affect the operation. The salesman promised to get me the missing panel. First one arrived that was damaged. Another one arrived but BASCO had forgotten to specify stainless steel. After that the salesman stopped returning my calls and ignored my written request for a response. I have been waiting four months because of their mistakes. Last the week Tim the manager called to say that my panel had arrived. BUT he won't work with me on installation. I have paid IN FULL for this product and I have paid IN FULL for installation. They need to make a simple courtesy call to the installer so this job can finally be complete. This is their problem to solve, not mine. read more

We are a local builder here in Portland, OR and we use BASCO for all of our appliances. I have had a good experience overall with them, but what prompts me to write this review is the willingness for BASCO to go above and beyond the call of duty in order to keep our business well into the future. We had a situation where we had a buyer of one of our homes go in to pick out appliances. Our normal representative at BASCO, Steve, was not working the day our clients went in to make there selections. When I called in to place the order of said appliances, Steve was not aware that the buyer had come in because it was logged in there system under the sales representative that had helped our client. When the appliances delivered, they were not what the our client had picked out, but instead it was our normal appliances that we use on our spec homes. The unfortunate effect this had on us is that it was going to hold up our final inspections and not allow us to close the sale of the house. This would have cost our client the rate they had locked in and ultimately could have caused thousands of dollars worth of irreparable damage. Worse, we may have lost the buyer of the home based on this mistake. BASCO did not want this to happen, so they told us to go ahead install the appliances that we received which they would later replace with the correct appliances after they came in. This is something that just normally does not happen. In addition to this experience, we have also had emergency situations that were our errors, and Steve had personally grabbed the necessary emergency materials, hopped in his car, and delivered them to our job, saving us time and money. More importantly, keeping us on track. In closing, I would recommend BASCO to anyone who is looking for new appliances or is looking for a business relationship that is mutually rewarding. We bought a Miele dishwasher that did a terrible job for 6 months or so, until the fourth repair person finally fixed it. Can't hold Basco accountable for the problem, but they also failed to go to bat for us with the manufacturer, even though they said they would and even though they had praised Miele customer service to the skies when we were buying. Then, separately, the interior glass door of one of the Miele ovens we had purchased at the same time inexplicably shattered when a lid from a pan was dropped on it from about 6 inches above it. It took more than 3 months (during which we had no use of the oven) and about $1,500 to repair this, with Basco again offering to go to bat for us but failing to tell us anything about what was going on. Not once in any of this has Basco apologized for its terrible customer service. They are good to work with, but only until you write the check. We would never do business with them again. read more

I became very uncomfortable (losing trust) with this retailer when I was asked to place a deposit before my list of products was finalized. This occurred after making unfulfilled price requests for products from manufacturers that do not publish prices. I do not recommend this retailer. I will spend my $20,000+ elsewhere. read more
