    Chorizo Skillet, Chai Latte
    Sarah L.

Recently, I had Sunday breakfast at Basecamp Dinette with a friend, who previously dined here and recommended it. We parked nearby and arrived at around 9:15am. There was a queue, but it moved quickly. We ordered at the counter and picked-up our drinks there as well. After finding a table, our food came out in about 15 minutes. The service was fast & friendly, and the ambiance is casual & homey. For my entree, I ordered the Chorizo Skillet with a sunny side up egg ($15.99). The skillet was flavorful and filling. It came with a side of corn tortillas, which were warm, but stuck together in the foil, making them hard to pull apart. The skillet can be sharable, so I ate half and took the rest home. There were self-serve takeout containers by the entrance of the restaurant. For my drink, I ordered a hot Chai Latte ($5.00). Unfortunately, their steamer wasn't working at the time, so I had to get it iced. It was fragrant, but a tad too sweet and milky for me.

Came here for coffee and a quick breakfast with friends. A lot of people stop by to grab some coffee and a pastry before headed to work. It filters through pretty quickly. Their pastries were the star of this place. So many I wanted to try but I had their homemade biscuit and I've been thinking about it for days. Other than that had their latte which was solid and their English muffin breakfast sandwiches that were tasty. Quick, easy, solid all around. There are a few tables inside but seemed more like a grab and go place. They have a parking lot but street parking is also available.

Tried this place out near my work and I really kiked the overall vibe. They serve both food and coffee which is great for a lunch break. The breakfast burrito was pretty good, and the coffee tasted great! Only complaint was that it took a long time for the food to come out and they weren't that busy. I did have to check in eventually to ask how much longer I had to wait for my order. The coffee itself came out quickly which I appreciated!

We visited base camp dinette after a morning at Griffith Park. Finding parking was a breeze. There was a long line but it moved quickly and it gave us time to look through the menu. They have an array of pastries with vegan options. The person taking the orders was knowledgeable on what was dairy free, which I appreciated. There was ample seating outside, even on a weekend morning. I ordered the brisket breakfast burrito and it was so tasty and I can't wait to order it again.

This charming retro-modern restaurant with its novelty camping decor is adorable. It's like I found a sliver of R&R tucked neatly within a residential neighborhood. I could easily get lost here for hours in just the decor and menu alone. All it needed was horseshoes, s'mores, and ghost stories to complete the ambiance. Instead, it's got all that and more. Great coffee, easy service, and seriously delicious breakfast. First, I love how they branded every inch of this space with the Basecamp theme, including the menu. The front signage is brilliant and you can spot it from the street while driving by. The outdoor patio is made to feel like you're chillin' next to a parked RV. And it's lush. The picnic tables and outdoor greenery feels like you've escaped the concrete jungle, and you're somewhere out by a lake with lots of tall trees and maybe even a bear. Or rather, as hungry as one--which I was. As I walked up to the front of the line inside, I didn't mind the 10-minute wait since there were so many good choices on the menu. Chilequiles looked good. The portion looked like it could satisfy a lumberjack crawling out of hibernation. House-made Pasties? Yes, please. Bring on the fresh fruit cronut. Yes, it tasted as good as it looked. Flaky, buttery, and topped with a crystal sugary glaze, it beared fresh bananas, blueberries, and strawberries like a badge of honor. Huevos Rancheros - It was a fiesta of spices mingling with over easy eggs on top of warm corn tortillas, and topped with a ranchero sauce with just the right amount of heat. I like that they aren't shy about avocado rations and that the hash browns are perfectly crisp and buttery. I'd say the whole plate comes together like a campfire song everyone already knows the words to. Kumba-YUM!!!!!! Verdict: Hangry campers walk out feeling fueled up and happy to start their day. I did. Next time I come back, I'll turn off my cell and go off the grid and get lost in more of their house-made pastries*. *Scones, Biscuits & Jam, Coffee Cake, Fruit Danish, Morning Bun, Turnovers, Chocolate & Almond Croissants, Banana Bread

Lunch review! Pretty tasty! Friendlier service at this hour too (i know its strange but ill make note of it.) I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad which was very good and a tad spicy with delicious cut bits of fried chicken. I noticed everyone else's food choices in the restaraunt also looked very well presented. A new note for this lunch was the line got pretty busy for the weekend noon hour; but that is expected for how good this place is. It wasn't a quick line though, slower than usual, but we got there :) There was still a good amount of seating with their picnic style benches which some folks shared and the inside with smaller seating. Good for families and saw kids with their parents seated comfortably. The picnic tables actually allowed more room for the kids to move about. I would recommend this place for lunch, yes!

Perfect place for a chill brunch with friends! We got the brisket breakfast tacos and quesadillas, along with some of their lattes - all so good! The vibes were laid back and I loved the outdoor seating area and open concept as well. Highly recommend! It's also pretty easy to find street parking nearby tldr 5/5 food - brisket breakfast tacos were superb, good bang for your buck as well 5/5 service - you order at the counter and the line moves fast! 5/5 vibes - chill, laidback, good vibes overall

This establishment should reinstate taking phone orders to improve wait times and friendlier customers service. Ok food but needs a wider range of salsa - ok food though

Dinette is a nature/hiking themed brunch and cafe in south Burbank near the LA River. The restaurant styles itself on the small, inconspicuous little joints seen in US National Parks. While a decent local place with personality, and a slight hipster vibe, I left slightly disappointed. On an early Friday morning, an old friend and I caught up; you order at the front register, and I asked the staff what Dinette was most famous for and what she recommended; she suggested the Basecamp Breakfast Burrito ($13); this came with a side of hash browns. Accompanying this was a rather generic cappuccino ($4.50). The burrito was disappointing, which was fairly dry, filled with too many hashbrowns, and a little overcooked. While thankfully saved by a decent, slightly spicy salsa, I would suggest more eggs, bacon, cheese, and to drop the hashbrowns altogether. The hash browns were fairly generic, and a little overcooked as well. The ambiance is relaxed and outdoorsy, and the staff friendly but not effusive. The food came fairly quickly (10-15 minutes). The prices, while not extortionate, were fairly middling for somewhat lackluster food. Perhaps I would have been better served by a better entree choice or one of the many tasty bakery items in their window, but alas I try what was recommended. More lodge diner than national park gourmet, Basecamp Dinette is a fair choice for a middling meal with relaxed, national park vibes. Food: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Value 3.5/5

    Hot Horchata Latte
    Janna C.

Trendy little coffee shop tucked in on Riverside that offers coffee, beers and brunch. I tried the Hot Horchata Latte with oat milk and would love to come back here to try the food. The space had an earthy, filled by locals vibe. Definitely lives up to its name "Basecamp." They still accept cash which is nice. The entrance is easy to miss so enter near the white tents, not the corner shop. The person and the register and the barista were very pleasant. The third person at the bar was not so much.

This is my second time dining here. The space is great and there's ample seating inside and outside. The first time I ordered breakfast tacos which were delightful. This time I ordered French toast which wasn't a fave sadly. I'd still recommend and will likely bring any friends visiting to this spot

I was excited to try Republik Coffee, but unfortunately the experience missed the mark…read more I ordered an iced vanilla matcha, a salted cold brew cloud, and banana bread. The first issue came when my matcha was made hot instead of iced and had to be remade. Even after the remake, it tasted like straight matcha powder and wasn't well mixed. The banana bread was served cold and wasn't warmed up, which was disappointing. What stood out most, though, was the cleanliness. As I walked into the shop around 7:30 a.m., the outdoor trash area was already overflowing. Inside, there was a trash can right next to the pickup counter that smelled bad and had visible stains all over it. For being so early in the morning, I was surprised that the trash hadn't been emptied or the area cleaned before opening. The salted cold brew cloud was decent, but overall the drinks, food, and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Hoping this was just an off morning, but based on this visit, I wouldn't rush back.

I had passed by this restaurant before but had never been curious enough to actually stop in. This time their drink menu advertised outside caught my attention so I figured "hey, why not?" From the moment I walked in i was trying to figure out whether I liked the atmosphere or not. The music was excellent, but the décor took me a second to process. It felt like an 80s lounge crashed into a neon Día de los Muertos inspired art gallery. It's most definitely not a quiet, cozy restaurant. It has more of a loud, colorful, party style personality. I was seated promptly by a kind hostess but I wasn't attended to by a waiter for nearly 10 minutes. Once my waiter did come by he was kind, quick, and professional. Now, I'm going to be honest.. I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mexican restaurant food, so I didn't have the highest expectations. I ordered the potato taquitos, a Jarrito Loco made with watermelon purée, vodka instead of tequila, and chamoy on the rim, plus chiles toreados and one carne asada taco. Laugh all you want, but I was half expecting the food to come out looking like a cafeteria lady had splattered it onto a plate... I was genuinely impressed by the presentation instead. The potato "taquitos" were bigger than I expected so don't let the "itos" fool you. They were crispy, flavorful, filling, and honestly so delicious. Those get a 5/5 from me. My drink was also incredible. It was refreshing, especially with how hot the day was, and had just the right amount of alcohol. The presentation was so cute I almost felt bad ruining it. Easily one of the best drinks I've had in the Burbank area -- 5/5. The carne asada taco wasn't as impressive as the potato taquitos, so I'd give that a 3/5. The chile toreado was definitely spicy, it just needed to be salted a little more but otherwise no complaints! I need to remind myself not to be too quick to judge because I was genuinely surprised by this place. The décor wasn't fully my personal style, but the food and drinks more than made up for it. I'd definitely come back again, especially for the potato taquitos and drinks.

Our server, Chelsea, was a very good egg; funny and very helpful with suggestions re the menu and various drinks. She checked on us repeatedly, and made sure we had all we needed. My wife ordered a Gummy Bear Shot that was tart and sweet and very enjoyable. On the food side, the menu is filled with the greatest hits of casual, sports bar foods, but all kicked up several notches and more interesting than the usual. My wife ordered the Truffle Burger, replete with onions and mushrooms and cheese. The trappings were all very tasty, and the burger itself was packed with flavor, and came cooked to a very proper medium rare. The side of lemon-pepper fries were hand cut and crispy, though the citrusy tang wasn't my thing. A tad less successful was my Pastrami Sandwich. The meat, listed as house-made, had good flavor but was tough. The kale slaw with it also had good flavor, and the slight bitterness was a nice foil for the rich pastrami. Onion rings were excellent, and (regardless of the lemon-pepper) the better bet as a side. All in all, this is a great, comfy place with a good menu and a really welcoming staff.
