I was in the midst of running errands in this area when I realized I needed some sort of caffeine/sugar kick. That's when Yelp came in handy remembering I had bookmarked this Hot New Business! Hot, new business indeed! There was something so calming about Basecamp. The staff did a great job in getting multiple orders in, and the barista was quick on his feet to whip up, quite honestly, the most decadent chai latte. It resembled an horchata latte; the cinnamon sweetness was very much alive in this drink. They also had a display of delicious treats. I opted for the sugar-free raisin carrot cake, as I realized I may have over done it with all this suggah! I was pleased to find that most pastries were made in house, just over at their sister store - High Horse. The atmosphere is definitely clean and feels quite productive. My girlfriend and I are disabled and wanted to dine at Basecamp recently. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we found the restaurant had no parking for us because they had tables and chairs set up in designated disabled parking spots. This is unacceptable. It is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and is illegal. How anyone could think this is acceptable is beyond me. My girlfriend emailed the restaurant about the issue and never heard back. This has all been very upsetting. I will be contacting Burbank PD, Code Enforcement, and the Justice Department about this matter. read more

There aren't a lot of chill, neighborhood coffee shops in that area where you can also get a great meal AND a beer :) Their coffee is wonderful and their alcohol selection is surprisingly large for such a small place. I love this cozy little neighborhood patio off the beaten path! I had been by it a couple of times and found myself in Burbank this morning super hangry after an appointment. There is a small lot but also plenty of residential parking so you'll have no problem. You order at the cashier first, get a number and pick your seat, which there were a plenty. They have a few tables but the perimeter of the patio is wooden counter and barstools so even if you're by yourself, you can get cozy outside and gaze towards the Equestrian center across the street for added charm. I ordered the Cinnamon Maple French Toast with coconut shavings on top which was delightful! The Staff is very sweet and friendly, and you'll see the free lemon water in the main counter with utensils for you to grab on your own. If I could give one suggestion, I'd recommend more copies of the menu out on a shelf before ordering because I had no idea what to get until it was my turn to order. I also noticed a confused family that arrived as I was leaving, who were rushing to order and apologizing as it was their first visit. It may help the line go faster. But all in all, High Horse is too cute to pass up so check it out! read more

Basecamp and High Horse Dinette was quite the disappointment. It's a cute space in the equestrian district of Burbank and there's a ton of seating both indoors and primarily outdoors and I can see this being a great breakfast establishment for the locals in the area. They definitely look like they know what they're doing when it comes to caffeine and pastries. While I didn't get a coffee drink, I did try their cronut and it had good flavor albeit a tad too oily for my preference. However, as a dinette serving lunch, it was inedible. We all ordered the Palomino Burger, which looked interesting with the honey siracha and shoestring fries. Unfortunately what arrived was neither. The patty lacked seasoning and definitely lacked heat. In fact, it felt like the cook forgot to season the meat when they were frying the patty. The bun was incredibly oily on the outside yet wasn't really hot or even warm on the inside. It also felt like they forgot the honey siracha since the burger itself was incredibly dry. In fact, it was hard to eat. It's hard to make a burger flavorless and dry and this kitchen unfortunately excelled at it. The shoestring fries were just regular fries, unless their understanding of shoestring is different than mine and the fries were definitely under seasoned. In fact, that was the common theme with this experience. Everything lacked seasoning and everything lacked nuance. Also, for a place that looked like they offer unique beverages, their root beer was out of a can. Something that you can get at your local Ralphs for much cheaper than what they charged. Overall, I'm hoping that their reviews are based upon their breakfast instead of their lunch, otherwise I would be confused as to why people think the food here is good. read more

My husband was happy with his breakfast burrito while I'm quite satisfied with my pancake platter that has a stack of 3 cakes, 2 eggs (over easy instead of my request of over medium), chorizo and fresh fruits. I like how the cut fruits were grapes, cantaloupe, pineapple and strawberries-- they were surprisingly sweet. I had some of my husband's tots and they were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside kinda thing which I really like. New hidden gem in Burbank! I stumbled across this place while looking for a place to study. It's divided into two buildings and each have a small parking lot. There's also a fair amount of street parking. My goodness the interior is so cute! There's a few couches, great art, a little zen garden, overall a great vibe. Picnic style benches outside (and you can sit out there with pups!) and a few individual spots. First visit I got a lavender latte and it was DELICIOUS. I got it the next time I came back with a friend and tried the breakfast burrito which was really delicious. Comes with a sauce and so many fresh ingredients. I was honestly impressed and the price is so affordable as well! I'll have to try more options, but I will definitely order it again. In the area and decided to make a long awaited visit here. Quirky split building setup that is kinda quirky and has an almost tropic vibe about it. I like the surrounding neighborhood also as it's a little more chilled than on the nearby main roads of regular Burbank. The Palomino Burger was pretty good - not the best but decent. The accompanying salad was flavorsome (of course you can have fries etc instead). The Biscuit with Jam (I also had whipped cream) was tasty and reminded me of Scones with the same accompaniments. This place is a hidden gem although lately it's been so busy! Since there's lots of greenery outside it's definitely got great coffee ambience for Instagram lol or even a meet up with friends. I even had my first date here with my now boyfriend! I've never tried anything bad but my go to is the teriyaki bowl for lunch. However definitely come and try the BBQ on weekend nights! It can sometimes be a bit slow but for me it's always worth the wait. Love this place! They are the best, and have great food! I met up with an old friend, and waited in line only a few minutes, even though it was lunch time on a weekend. We found a small two top in their outdoor tent, and enjoyed a couple amazing salads. I even had the sparkling raspberry tea, and I'm hooked! Two stars for their theme concept and decor. However, I was highly disappointed with their Cilantro Lime Rice Bowl. First of all, the bowl was so tiny. It looked like a side dish. It was mostly rice which was very dry. The small pieces of grilled chicken on top was over cooked and hard. It was also overpriced, if the bowl was a substantial size and not super dry all around I could justify spending $15 (includes tax). My only regret about this place is why did I not find it sooner! In my opinion, Basecamp is one of the best coffee shops and places to eat in all of Los Angeles. The downfall is it's in a neighborhood away from the main streets, which I love, it's just a far journey to get here sometimes. The other downfall is the menu is a bit overpriced. I came here for my husband's birthday. We had two black iced coffees, an acai bowl, and the Huevos Rancheros. It was an amazing meal! The coffee is die for, acai bowl was huge, and my Hispanic husband said they were some of his favorite Huevos Rancheros around town! (Guys, this says a lot). The total price for these items was $40.00! For a breakfast? Oh no. Like I said before, VERY overpriced, but the quality of the food, freshness of the coffee, bold flavors, and wonderful engaging and friendly employees made it worth it to us. Basecamp has a really cool wooden bar where you can grab coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The setting is cozy with warm colors on the wall, great background music, and lots of windows for natural lighting to come inside. There is plenty of parking, no busy roads, rushed customers, or uptight employees. I feel like everyone here just got out of a hot yoga class. The vibe is peaceful, warm, and inviting. Basically, this is a writers paradise. They don't have a lot of indoor seating so it's best to get here early because people like to hang out for a while once they get a table. They do have a lot of outdoor seating which is great on a nice day, but this is not the place to go if the weather is bad outside. There's just a chance you won't find a seat. First time here and I think we picked a bad day to try this place out. Why? Because we waited about 1 hour for our food to come out. We should've known since we heard another couple complain about their wait for their food as well. When you get there, there's a few parking spots on the property. If it's full there's always street parking. You can sit outdoors with nice big picnic tables or inside with smaller tables or bar seating. You order at the counter and they give you a number for your table. We moved from the outside to inside because a table finally opened up and it was really hot outside. As mentioned earlier, another couple complained about their wait outside so out of curiosity, we started a timer after our order was placed. It took roughly an hour to get our food but we didn't complain. They apologized for the wait and brought us mimosas to compensate. These two ladies that barely sat down maybe 30 minutes prior complained to the wait staff every 5 minutes. It didn't help that me and my boyfriend finally got our order and were munching away because we were starving. Needless to say, the food was okay. My chicken wrap was tasty but I have a feeling that's not how it's usually prepared (because they said 3 people called out sick from the kitchen and that's what caused the terrible wait) and also my wrap didn't look like I saw from pics on Yelp. This community establishment stepped up in a huge way. This week, the Rancho Equestrian District in Burbank lost a good will ambassador, and a good will human of sorts and a professional friend. When John of High Horse Base Camp heard of this tragedy and also knew our friend personally, he stepped up with other members of the community to host a gathering at his cafe, that included beer and wine and assorted foods. There was also a Scottish bag piper, other musicians and slide shows. Even his horse Makai was there for all to glory. As much as I hate to praise any business that I frequent, because I know it will get too busy, I cannot go without expressing for our entire community a grateful thank you to all of the staff and to John of High Horse Base Camp for hosting such a great memorial for a friend lost. I am loathe to write a review about Basecamp Station... I'd prefer it stay my secret! Basecamp is tucked away in the heart of the Burbank Equestrian neighborhood. I cannot stress how much you should NOT make the journey here, as you will immediately fall b come ensnared with this unique coffee house/restaurant and wish to return often. This is my second visit, and while it is hopping busy for prime Sunday Brunch hours, the atmosphere retains its integrity: Calm, friendly, welcoming, unique. Pets are welcome in the outdoor seating area. If you read my reviews, you know I value service highly in all of my experiences and the staff here seems invested and proud of their establishment. The service hits all of my expectations as hoped for elements. Prompt, friendly, attentive, but also willing to give you space and leave you to enjoy without constant pestering... The beverage choices are wide ranging and sure to please any visitor... excellent American coffee - rich without being over-roasted/bitter, a customary selection of expresso choices, teas, juices, kombucha, and a small curated selection of Italian wines. They have a specialty offering of a tall, self-serve mimosa decanter served to the table for your entire group to enjoy. In addition to indoor and outdoor tables, there is plentiful bar seating as well as a comfortable lounge area with WiFi if you are look to camp out for awhile and work. Cute little cafe in the Pasadena area. They have a very chill atmosphere that's perfect for brunch and a great menu selection of healthier foods. I got the protein bowl, which was $12.25 and incredibly filling. It was egg whites and a quinoa patty on a bed of lots and lots of vegetables: spring mix, kale, squash, spinach, mushrooms. And it came with tofu, sweet potato, and cherry tomatoes. So like a salad but with lots of extra protein and totally delicious especially if you're looking for a filling meal that's healthy. I also got the latte iced and with almond milk; it was really smooth and only $4. This is a nice coffee shop with plenty of parking and a couple of outdoor seating areas. I had to knock it down a few stars for the obscene political cartoons all over the wall. It presents an unwelcoming environment for people who don't agree with the business' political views. Our favorite coffeeshop in the area. I'm originally from the Pacific Northwest, and I come here when I'm homesick. The coffee is out-of-this-world as well as the food! I love the atmosphere - the music they play (last time they were playing jazz), all the little decorations, and local artwork on display. Been coming here for years, we actually moved into the apartments across the street (short-term), one of the reasons we moved there was because of how excited we were to be across from our favorite coffeeshop. While eating, we ordered a cappuccino and espresso to go, once we got up there to pick them up, we saw that they put it in the regular cups. Two girls stared at us as they didn't even bothered to do their job. We were leaving and heard one of them saying "Your attitude is terrible" behind our back. How did it take me so long to find out about this cute cafe? My husband and I came here for a late breakfast and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was friendly, the decor was the perfect combination of quaint and modern and the food was the best of your traditional choices of egg dishes, pancakes and french toast! My husband had the chorizo egg skillet and a light beer--he asked the server to surprise him with his best tap--and I had the croissant french toast and a dirty chai. The chorizo skillet came in the cutest little skillet and it was very tasty. The croissant french toast was just the right amount of decadent. My bacon and egg sides were perfect and I cleaned my plate! This place is already a favorite. I look forward to returning. Maybe next time I will get to see folks ride up on their horses!
