Good place for a beer and a burger exactly how you like it. I've been a couple times, once with a group and another time just Boyfriend and I. Fair warning: it was completely packed both times. With the group, we actually called ahead, still had to wait, and then sat half of us at a table and the other half at the bar. Boyfriend and I sat at the bar (I don't know why more people don't do this, it's awesome). With the group it was probably a Friday night, but with Boyfriend it was a Thursday at like 5 or something. Still insane in there. The food, drinks and service are good though. They give you a menu to write on and you choose all the details of your perfect burger: the kind of meat (or not), bun, condiments, toppings, and a delicious list of sides (get the tots. trust me). A long time friend and I decided to meet up for lunch today, and we wanted to try something in the area of Canton. I searched on yelp and found this place, and off we went. We arrived and were the first one's in there. They don't open until noon on Sunday so we were greeted and seated immediately. I had never been here before so I was unaware of how the ordering was done. Our waitress came over after we reviewed the menu and I ordered the burger with what toppings I wanted on it. What I didn't know was that I was supposed to fill out the menu itself with a marker! SHE DIDN'T TELL ME. It was my first time there. So, instead of giving me instructions, she kept us waiting there and came back like10 minutes later. Eventually, I got it right and let me tell you, this burgers amazing. The burger was amazing!! Holy goodness was it awesome. This place was totally worth the drive. I just went with the regular meat, but dang it, I was in love! My friend went with the macaroni bites, but I didn't try them. I was to engrossed with the burger! Overall I had a good time. Granted, the waitress could have explained their "different" ordering style, but she was good overall. Very pleasant service. Also, after we paid our tab the waitress never came back to check on if we wanted more drinks or not. Again, nothing tragic but she was a good server. When I come back from Pittsburgh to visit, I like to eat at places I can't go anywhere else. I had been hearing. Lot about Basement Burger Bar so I was super excited when I found one near where I was staying. I was greeted and seated as soon as I walked in the door. My server was super nice, and explained the whole build-your-own-burger concept when he learned I had never been there before. I like that the build your own sheets are actually a menu insert that you fill out with wet erase markers instead of paper tear pads I've seen elsewhere. My order came up quickly and was perfect. The price was great as well. I had a coke, beef burger, and a side of loaded tots with nacho cheese- it was $16 and some change. It was delicious! I ate way too much, way too fast . read more

BBB serves really great burgers. They give you a menu and a dry erase marker to make your choices. There are a lot of options to choose from. You can get beef, bison, turkey or chicken as your choice of meat. Vegetarian is also an option for those so inclined. Then you choose how done you want it, from rare to well done. I get medium because I don't want it bloody, but not dried out either. They cooked it perfectly. Next comes the choice of bun. White, wheat, pretzel, or none. I chose the pretzel and loved it. It was an extra dollar, but worth it. Then you can select your spreads, toppings, cheese, and sides. They offer 10 different kinds of cheese. I ordered the cheddar which was good. Their prices are on the high end, but you're getting a premium product for your money. If you're in the mood for a good burger, this is the place to be. One last thing. The parking lot is way too small for the number of businesses in the plaza. It's also in poor condition. They have been trying for months to fix it, but never seem to be finished. 4.5 stars impression on first visit! I visited this place yesterday with a couple of friends. They said you could get a very good burger here, but didn't say much else. When we went, I found it to be a "build your burger" place, much like the old Ottowa Tavern that I used to enjoy. The place was small, but I hear it is always busy and it was so, even after the main lunch hour on a Sunday - and I can understand why: the burgers are excellent. I love the options offered. You select your bun, the meat (I chose bison, which I was very happy with as it was juicy and very flavorful), the sauce and toppings. There was quite a large selection of each. The sides were also good. I was also happy to see a decent craft beer selection on draft and I got an Atwater Decadent Dark Chocolate Ale, which I felt complemented my burger and toppings very well. Service can be hit or miss, but tonight it was good. Our orders were taken quickly by a very friendly waitress. Thankfully it orders came out fast, because my daughter was exceedingly hungry and started asking when the food would be out every minute after we ordered. The burgers are always cooked perfectly here--just the way you order them, and super juicy. Many toppings are free, and they have several you won't find on a menu anywhere else (my dad's favorite was always green olives and mayo, and you can get that here:).The beer battered fries are my favorite fries at any restaurant. The tater tots are my husband's favorite. They have a kid's menu, but my kids like the 6 oz. burger. There is a tv in sight wherever you sit, which is the only thing I don't like. I know, that's a bonus for many people nowadays. I still enjoy old-fashioned conversation and eye contact:) I definitely recommend Basement Burger Bar. P.S. Don't look for a basement. It's not actually in a basement...maybe more like a crawl space, at least if it were underground. At any rate, BBB is small, with not too much elbow room between tables. Lots of TVs overhead tuned to sports, though the cramped setting doesn't invite hanging out and watching a game. The food wasn't bad. My wife got a basic burger, I tried the mushroom-pesto chicken sandwich. Neither was bad but neither was great. My wife's burger was a little overcooked, medium well+ as opposed to the medium she bespoke, and while not dry, it didn't have a lot of beef flavor. My chicken was decent though its marinade may have been heavy on salt. Pesto was a little strong, but didn't quite overpower the rest of the sandwich. The grilled portobello slices on top were yummy. My wife did like her french fries, which were about halfway between shoestring and ranch fries in size, with a light, spicy coating. Beer selection is fair, with about half a dozen craft brews, mostly ones familiar from store shelves. The drafts are not cheap though. I paid $6.50 for a pint of Oberon. That's just a 16 oz. pint, not an imperial. Not a night to jump up and down about, but we didn't drive away cursing the place. You could do worse. read more

My husband, step daughter and I went here this past Friday. There was a 15 min wait but it went by fast. It was super busy but with good reason this is the best burger spot in Canton. Unfortunately the waitress we had bought me a Diet Pepsi instead of a regular one. A very minor mistake. Which she corrected right away. I love basement burger bar because you get to choose everything including what hamburger meat you want even. The sweet potatoes fries are the best I have ever had especially with that cinnamon dip to go with them. The last time I was here I ordered a salad and that was very good too. I am definitely very pleased with this restaurant I just wish they had more room for more tables. It's too bad that they can't close down jersey mikes and expand the restaurant more! Pricey and it's not that great to make up the difference. 5 Guys is across the road, go there if you want a really good burger. Otherwise, it's fun to get tots with a decent burger you get to customize. The bar is small, and it's not in a basement (which was disappointing). I don't recommend this location, but I also don't recommend going out of your way to avoid it. If you end up here, you're going to get great service and exactly what you ordered, you're just not going to be all that excited about paying $18 for a burger that tastes like theirs do. My family and I went to this location on August 21, 2015 for the first time visiting family for wedding. We noticed the happy hour menu options right away from 3 PM to 6 PM and again starting at 10 PM to 2 AM. The service was great and the food was even better we love this location and wish we had a basement burger bar in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I had the sampler platter with three menu options, my brother had the nachos with cheese quesadillas, my daughter had the wings which was on the happy hour special, mother order happy mini burgers and my boyfriend had the Build your own burger and added fries and drink. All the food was delicious and were sampled off of all of our meals. The only suggestion that I would have is for all the meals to include fries and just to add a drink for extra charge We would definitely come back to this location next time were in town read more

I've had their "everything but the kitchen sink" burger, as well as a couple others. While the topping are decent, the burger patties, while juicy, are pretty flavorless. I do enjoy the tater tots, but those don't come standard with the burgers, those are add ons. Plenty of tvs to watch the game, and I know they do trivia on certain nights, but this place is pretty small, and the parking lot has been under construction for a while (I think they may have finally finished up) which made getting there a hassle. BBB let's you have the option of picking one of their own burger creations OR you can build your own. My dining partner and I chose to try a burger from the menu and to concoct one! We chose the stuffed blue cheese burger & built a American Kobe Beef (with a fried egg, grilled onions, swiss, onion straws, garlic mayo). The stuffed blue cheese & American Kobe burger were both cooked a perfect medium rare. THANK YOU BBB for getting it right! I really liked that they didn't over stuff the burger with blue cheese so that you can taste the flavor of the beef, which was delicious. My dining partner really enjoyed his American Kobe Beef burger. I had a few bites and if you like melt in your mouth beef, then this is the burger for you. I still prefer the regular ground beef to the Amer. Kobe one, just because I prefer that hearty texture. My only issue would be that the pretzel bun needed to be hallowed out so that the bread didn't consume the beef patty's taste. The waitstaff are also very good. Great at giving drink recommendations! Hubby and I love BBB! We used to travel to the Farmington Hills location and are happy they opened up one closer! As others mentioned, the place is small so expect a wait. But the service is quick, beer is fresh and food is great! Hubby and I always get a pair of burgers- there are so many different options to try but I stay true to my original burger! This place is beyond amazing! My family and I ordered carry out. We fell in love with the mushroom burger the first time there so we ordered it again but added bacon to it. The burger was huge and cooked to perfection (nice and juicy), plenty of portobello mushrooms packed into it and the pesto sauce gave it a great flavor. I highly recommend this burger. We also ordered beer battered fries- so addicting and plenty of them! Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Staff was great. "Oh, boyo. Where do I start on this burger? How do I grip it?" Are two questions that you may have when this burger is placed before you. I was saddened to learn upon walking in, that this was not a basement restaurant. Apparently only the original location has a basement eatery, while this Canton establishment was a small cramped dining space with a full bar, open kitchen, and staff only basement. With that out of the way, I was very impressed by through burgers and their myriad options to craft one. The proverbial BYOB, Build Your Own Burger is a certain mainstay at this location, as you can choose from a variety of meats, cheeses, vegetables, toppings, and sauce. Just for a taste of their possibilities, meats can be cooked to your liking, ranging from the variations of Buffalo, Ground Beef, Kobe, Black Bean, Chicken, Chicken tenders, and more. Cheeses vary from sharp cheese, Parmesan, Swiss, and others. And get this, you can out toppings such as eggs, fries (I do this anyway), mozzarella sticks, black AND green olives, and at least 10 other choices aside from the traditional choices. I really enjoyed my Kobe beef patty, with its juicy tenderness and thick form. My patty was easily larger than a deck of cards, and with all the toppings it made for quite a challenging eat! It's the time of burger that makes your mind boggle at how you're going to start eating it, and next thing you realise your hands are dripping in grease. There are various sides to go to, but I stuck to the classic fries and a burger, which filled me up about half way through. I still ate the whole damn thing anyway, because you know I'm not about doggy bags... Plus I was going to walk it off in the adult playground known as IKEA, later. There is a full bar with decent choices from craft, draft, mainstream choices, and some unique homebrew, but I didn't order any this time. The soda is of course, refillable, but I did have to wait quite a while between glasses due to slow service. In my 1 hour stay at the restaurant, I believe the waitress came by once, and of not for my sticking my hands up in the air to get her attention, I would be waiting for my refill as she talked to another table for quite some time. And more of a gripe and nitpick, but I got really upset when the tray handed to me by the kitchen staff had barbecue sauce on it... Which I of course did not realise until I had brushed it against my pants thinking it to be water. What baffled me was that nobody at my table even ordered sauce on their burgers, and why hand it to me dirty? At least they weren't my favorite pants, so a quick dip into my glass for some ice saved from staining. Overall, I think it to be quite a great burger location, but just that. It's what you would expect from a sport oriented burger bar in terms of service and seating. Elbow to elbow, crowd of faces in your area, and sensory overload on the teles. I was completely satisfied in terms of flavor and portion size, and the price was a little over average. All in all, if you love burgers and are in the area, I'd give it a go, but it's best for smaller party sizes (2 or 3 max). I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the burgers and chicken sandwich. I had the hot mama with chicken. (Spicy ketchup, lettuce, tomato, jalapeños and pepper Jack cheese.) The chicken was very tender and juicy, while the spice level was just right. I thought the jalapenos were not overwhelming, everything balanced perfectly. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the sweet potato fries were a bit limp and soggy. I was disappointed in them but the sandwich more than made up for it. This place was recommend to me by a fellow fan of burgers so I entered with high expectations. For a Friday night it was less crowded than expected but to be fair it was a little late for burger eating by conventional standards of course. I got the junk burger which is probably their best seller. It's more of a novelty burger and consequently it's more novelty than burger. Apart from the patty and staples of lettuce, cheese and tomatoes it's got a LOT of things in it. I remember fried onions, grilled onions, mozzarella sticks and even a full fried pickle. As far as sauces go, it had a garlic mayo, red pepper mayo and a couple other additions to make it spicy. It was quite a task to keep the burger from disintegrating while eating it. The patty itself was cooked perfectly to a medium rare and was adequately juicy. In another burger this would have been a winner. But anyone ordering the junk burger after reading the description knows what he's in for. It came with thick cut beer battered fries, well seasoned and crisp. This wholesome American meal was washed down with a glass of milkshake. They allow you to mix flavors so I got the brownie mix with chocolate cuz what the heck is too much chocolate. I use the word glass here but this measure of quantity is the upper limit of what anyone reasonable would call a glass. It tasted absolutely fantastic too. No, it wasn't a chocolate overload. Ordered a takeout - mini burgers and fries. Burgers left much to be desired, especially since the place has 'burger' in the name. Menu said "Three mini beef burgers topped with our own smoked BBQ, caramelized onions and sharp cheddar." I received 3 burgers, no BBQ, so-so onions, cheese (I don't think it was cheddar), and pickles. I LOVE BBQ, and hate pickles. I removed the pickles, and tried to eat them anyway. The pickle left a smell/taste on the bun, but even without that, the burgers were dry. I ate one..slowly, and threw the other two in the trash. My coworker got the same order, and also threw away 2 out of 3 burgers. I had high hopes, but learned my lesson. First and last visit. *Edited to add: Another coworker ordered the turkey burger. It was my friend and I's time visiting Basement Burger Bar and let's just say it was just an "OK" experience. The wait was about 7 mins. Unfortunately, there wasn't a hostess at the door to greet us. Finally someone came and addressed my friend and I as well as a couple who came in a couple of mins after us. After reviewing the menu, I noticed it had minimal vegan options. I am not a vegan but due to food allergies, I tend to lean toward vegan options. Any-who, I inquired with the waitress regarding an option that was not labeled. Instead of her coming back with the answer, she sent the manager. The manager ended up answering all of our questions. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed. She rarely came back to check on us. Excellent food and service. I ordered a beef burger topped with avocado, onion and smoked gouda. Tots on the side. The burger was cooked exactly medium, as I ordered and tasted very fresh and also was very tender. Their burger was on the leaner side which was ok with me. So it is not your typical pub burger for sure. My wife ordered the turkey burger with cheese and some other toppings including dried cranberries. Menu is extremely overpriced for some pretty low quality food. The burger that I received was soggy and sloppy to the point of being wet, the app we ordered was less than appetizing due to the Mac bites being soaked in oil, and the service was DEAD SLOW. We literally watched our food come up in the window and sit there for 5-10 minutes as the server talked smack with the bartender. Pretty irritating when you're trying to eat HOT food, and see it dying in the window. I've had much better burgers at BK in all honesty. Veggie Burger on gluten free bun was decent. The gluten free bread was a bit too dry, not as good as the gluten free bun at famous burger, which I still can't believe is really gluten free bread. I added spinach, onions, mushrooms, tomato, pepper jack cheese. The veggie burger wasn't bad at all. The onion rings were a bit too heavy on the batter.
