But at the same time, not bad either other than everything is a tad too salty. Service is similarly as blah. They are rushed and not too friendly, but not rude either. We were excited to try this new restaurant and the entire dining experience leaves one wanting more. More of everything... more flavors, more service, more spices, more ... Tod Mun - Fish cake were very blah, a bit too salty. And taste just like the frozen ones in Asian stores that you would reheat. So it's definitely not their home made version. Tom Kha - Coconut based soup w chicken. Taste is off. Too Salty. Chicken pieces were a bit rough. While the soup was presented in the traditional thai soup bowl, there was no fire to keep the soup hot. a little disappointed as I always liked how the soup was kept hot while I sip the soup throughout the meal. Basil chicken - The exact same chicken pieces were used in this dish as compared to the soup. A bit rough. The cooking seemed sloppy with sauces and basil just slapped together. Again, a bit too salty but better seasoning for this dish. I don't like restaurants where they indicate: $1 extra for brown rice dishes comes with "standard meat chicken" and $1 extra for beef, $1 for pork, $3 for shrimp, etc... Basil Delight is Thai Basil's expansion one exit east on the 580. The menu is essentially the same with some new curry items and higher prices. The dinning room is bigger with larger tables and more seats. We Lund up ordering our go to favorites Pad Thai noodles Basil Chili seafood Larb Pretty much the dishes are identical is portions and taste. The presentation is a little different with the larger dishes. This restaurant can allow the use of larger plates because the tables are larger. The Tri-Valley area seems to be booming in terms of Thai restaurants as of late. Danville's Similan Thai recently opened up Andaman Thai in San Ramon. Now, the owners of Thai Basil Express in Dublin Ulferts opened up Basil Delight in the spanking-new Pacific Pearl mall in Pleasanton. This restaurant is slightly larger than Thai Basil Express, and boasts a menu of both Thai and Malaysian cuisine. We had an excellent dinner here. Food came out real fast, and very good quality and reasonable prices - before tip is was just under $30 for two entrees. The Mixed Veggie plate is one of our favorites - sautéed Gai Lan, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, and cucumber with a light sauce drizzle that give distinctive Thai flavors with that fish sauce. This entree includes a full bowl of white rice and added chicken at no charge. The wife pondered whether you get more veggies if we decline the chicken - because for this dish we will definitely do that! The Thai Catfish is lighted breaded and pan-fried with a light chili-basil sauce. It comes with generous portions of basil eggplant too. The fish was initially crispy outside and soft and flaky inside. You should eat this dish quickly since it will eventually get soggy of you let it sit in all the sauce. The dish would be better with less sauce or perhaps next time, sauce on the side! The brown rice I got was surprisingly good - like a nice barley rice that was even softer than the white rice (smh). We are regulars of Thai Basil (located in the Ulferts shopping center in Dublin) and decided to try this new restaurant due to the family connection (the owners being related). At first glance, the decor is simple and not too overdone. I liked the brightness of the space; the feeling of natural lighting is always preferred. We ordered 5 items: the Roti & Kari (appetizer), Garlic Basa Filet, Pad Thai, Yellow Kari and lastly the Crab Meat & Shrimp fried rice. My son has a severe tree nut allergy and we are always vigilant about checking ingredients to avoid cashews. However, when the fried rice came out, we noticed right away there were cashews mixed in there! Not good! Immediately, we flag the waitress over and pointed out that there were cashews in the dish which was not printed on the menu. She apologized after we mentioned (again) that our child has a serious food allergy. We weren't sure if they would remake the dish or just take out the cashews. Because of worries of cross-contamination, we just had him stick to eating the Basa fish plate. So, in short, the flavor is good and price is decent (although higher than Thai Basil; I imagine rent is also higher in this new plaza). Two stars removed for the ingredients mix-up and the fact that they don't have one of our favorite Thai dishes: grilled BBQ pork. In fact, according to the waitress, they do not serve any pork at all. Would probably return in the future but would still be very vigilant about the food allergen issue. read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while. Finally got a chance. Came here after 2pm on a Saturday and it was still pretty busy. There's a whole page of vegetarian dishes. Their lunch special is only offered Monday-Friday. I was feeling carb-y so ordered Kapong fried rice because of its sambal sauce. Sambal sauce is this southeast Asian chili pepper hot sauce that has shrimp paste and fish sauce. I like it because it packs a lot of flavor. My friend ordered the Chow Kueh Teow (basically the Thai version of stir fried rice noodle with beef). Both dishes were tasty as we shared the dishes. They actually paired well together. The fried rice was salty and a bit spicy. The rice noodle had a different texture and was a bit sweet. This was a meal with a lot of carbs, but it was very satisfying. I wanted to like it but the food has been downgraded to me as just okay because bugs kept finding their way to my plate, drink, and rice. Basil Delight (BD) is located in the new Asian Pearl complex (think Diamond Jamboree in Irvine or nearby Ulferts in Dublin) located diagonally from the Livermore Outlets. Expect this entire complex to be packed during the year-end holidays when all of the restaurants will be in place and Christmas shoppers will be hungry from all of the shopping. Lots of development in progress. BD is situated at an end location, equidistant between the 85 Degree Bakery and Ranch 99 Market (both open). Large paintings situated on one side of the restaurant and partial glass on the other side. Table seating in this clean, new, rectangular-shaped restaurant. Three of us went for a late Monday lunch after shopping. Ordered Larb Chicken Salad, Basil Thai Eggplant with Chicken, and Nasi Lemak Chicken (latter two were from the weekday lunch menu) All were tasty and authentic; however, we would have liked a little more eggplant in the eggplant dish and the Larb Salad was warm with not enough colder greens. The dishes came with a clear, vegetable soup that was light and clean (an Asian description meaning not a muddled up, greasy soup). I don't usually leave Yelp reviews, but since my family had the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE experience in this restaurant, I decided to do so. We drove almost an hour to order halal food since there were only limited halal food spots in the area. When we arrived, we first decided to order takeout, yet after a few minutes, we politely asked the lady if we could dine in. Then the lady with short hair responded with an unhappy look on her face, "ok, that's fine," and started to act RUDE; the whole time we were there, she was eyeing my family and acted so rude every time she served the food (we felt so uncomfortable the entire time because of her). When we finished packing our food, we decided not to leave a tip to the lady. Yet, she came to us and pointed out the receipt with her pen and told us, "YOU GUYS ATE HERE AND ARE GOING TO LEAVE WITHOUT GIVING A TIP!? " with a very sarcastic tone, which is VERY RUDE and put our family on shame because the other customers can hear her as she makes a scene. In California law, giving a tip is optional, and since we received the worst customer service, I don't think she deserves to have it. Yet, in the end, we still give her the right amount of tip she deserves. Overall, their food is okay, yet the employees here only care about the money and not their customer's satisfaction. I would suggest that if you are looking for the quality of halal food and services, THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT PLACE, BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE STAFF IS VERY DISRESPECTFUL. Also, this restaurant should be reported to the state/county as their restroom has some food containers and supplies inside, which I am unsure if they use it for their customers. Finally tried this place on Friday night, just to take a break from Kura (DD's fav fun restaurant). I didn't know what to expect and went by reviews and pictures. Wow! I was actually impressed. Apparently the owner is the niece of Thai Basil at Ulferts, where we have been going there for take out for years. This is more of Malaysian Thai restaurant. The Meegorang was my favorite. It's like a Malay version of Pad Thai. Next was the pineapple chicken. The roti & kari (yes, that is how they spelled curry on the menu) was good. But, I still think Taste of Sing Ma's is still my favorite. Their young coconut drink was a little different Less work. They have the juice and coconut meat were already cut out into the glass. We arrived around close to 7 pm. Within minutes, the restaurant started to fill up. By the time we left, there was a line out the door. We ordered take-out. Both their Beef Rendang and green curry were yummy. I personally like Beef Rendang more. We like strong taste and it fits our needs! The beef inside Rendang wasn't as tender as I expected but I still like it. For the beef curry, as expected in many other Thai restaurants, they are on the dry side, not the same texture as in the beef stir-fry in Chinese restaurant. Great food! However they need more serving staff. There were just 2 ladies serving (kept a positive attitude) packing for online and call in orders, in person orders and answering phones and cleaning tables and taking orders. For a Saturday evening dinner time those poor two ladies were really working like machines. Due to this, the wait for an online order took over 30 minutes of waiting past pick up time. There were others with the same experience. Sufficient staffing is crucial to running and maintaining such a busy business. The server made me a Thai Tea for my patience. Love coming here for a quick bite! The servers are always very friendly and attend to you quickly! I like to start off the the summer roll. It's their take on a spring roll. It has vegetables, chicken, and shrimp. It's tasty and I like that they give you 2 different sauce options with it. I also like to get their pad kee-mao, which is a little spicy but so good! Their basil fried rice is also really good. The pad thai here is not my favorite but the other noodle dishes I've tried are all yummy! Overall a very clean restaurant with the exception of some little flies at times. They have shades on the window for sunny days so that the sun won't be in your eye. I thought it would at least be decent because it had an overall 4 stars on Yelp and one of my coworkers always rave about this spot, so I decided to try them out. I've been here twice and loved it! Not only is it Thai food but they offer Malaysian cuisine too. Believe it or not there is a difference folks ;) They have an extensive dinner menu which includes a small section of Malaysian dishes. Good dessert menu and offered the typical Thai drinks as well. We ordered- Chicken satay- was disappointed in this. Flavor was good, peanut sauce was good but they definitely were not the norm skewer sizes. I didn't take a picture of it to post with this review as it was unflattering.. Chicken wings- we really liked this and ended up ordering a party tray for a gender reveal the following weekend! Penang green bean- got this with chicken and it was delish! Comes with steamed rice, good portion, good flavor. Pad ke mow- got this with beef and it was very good. Crab and shrimp fried rice- OMG my fave dish, super good, no leftovers with that one, lol A Malaysian beef dish- I forgot what it was called (not rendang beef) it was under the Malaysian dishes.. their menu is flagged so I wasn't able to look it up. Came here for the first time with my wife and 2 kids. Came in with couple of tables available but still had to put our name on the list. There were only 2 servers and we got seated at the last open table. We got sat at the same time as this other table. Sat there a few mins, server stopped by with plates and utensils then left. People started coming in and we sat there about 10 mins with no servers coming by or looking our way to take our orders. Started to get impatient already with 2 hungry kids. Already off to a bad start. Ordered some dishes for my wife and I and my son wanted their thai orange chicken. He was super hungry at this point. Server said it came with rice but when it came out, there were no rice so I told the server and she said ok and supposedly went to get it. My son was waiting patiently for the rice so he can eat his food. Saw that server came out with a bowl of rice but it went to another table. Saw her again with another bowl of rice and thought for sure she was coming to our table but nope again to another table. I got up this time and went up to the front to that same server and had to tell her we need our rice and she finally went to get it. I like their fried rice. It came with shrimp. I m sure you can substitute with other protein if you don't like shrimp. Chicken satay came in 5 skewers and peanut sauce. They were marinated good. Regarding pad Thai, i think it's too sweet for me. Overall, it was not bad but I have better pad Thai somewhere else. The dishes are about $10 each. Consider other Thai restaurants, their price is pretty good. They are also in a good portion. Parking is easy on weekdays, not sure about weekends. We have some leftover for to go. Ok first off I'd like to say the staff was super friendly. Service was great. My main dish was chicken and shrimp in a garlic gravy sauce with a fried noodle. The noodles were all stuck together. It was lacking flavor and I'm sure they use MSG because I swelled up later that evening. MSG affects some more than others. The soup was just ok. I've had great Tom Kha and this was really just ok. It was pretty thick. Probably used more coconut cream than coconut milk. Very lite citrus flavor. I also had a vegetarian fresh roll. It was ok. The sauce came out hot which I've always had it cold. My first time here and I am glad I decided to try this place out! This is in the food plaza across from the San Francisco Outlet in livermore! All the dishes we tried were really delicious and good portion! Service was really good as they were attentive with pretty much everything (getting your order, pouring you more water, getting the dishes out of the way before the check came)~ The only thing is that I wished the roti was the flakey kind of roti that I get from other Thai restaurants but this came as a pancake shape which was still good but I prefer the other kind! Basil Delight is in my regular rotation of restaurants for a few reasons. The first being that they are vegetarian-friendly. I can substitute tofu for the meat in any dish. I love that! The second is that they make some great Thai curry dishes. My favorite being the red kari. The third is that they make their food nice and spicy. I know that I can walk in Basil Delight and ask for my dish to be served "Thai hot," and it will be perfect. As we were ordering, we asked the waiter to make pad Thai with no egg and no fish sauce. The waiter told us she couldn't do that because it supposed to contain fish sauce.
