    Green Curry

I tried the green curry. It was excellent. So good. It's definitely homemade. Flavor is great. Lots of chicken and veggies inside. Really nice ambiance and atmosphere inside. Service is good. Nice server. Seems like they do a lot of phone orders. I'll be back to try other curries.

Been coming here for quite some time now, around 2 years and the food has always been really great. The papaya salad is some of the best in this area so you def need to try it. I ordered the yellow curry tonight with chicken and it was super tasty and the portion was big as well. The squid salad was very tangy and had great flavor. I love how they use a lot of sauce for their salads with intense flavor. Waitress also sanitized seating after other customers left. Will keep coming back to this place.

Still trying to maintain their low price for lunch or dinner. Good Thai food..welcoming customer service. Just hope they hold onto the price despite everybody is going up. Best price in town!

The restaurant is located inside a plaza so lots of parking. I tried the vegetable egg rolls, pineapple fried rice, boat noodle soup and deluxe noodle soup. I think it's so great they offer egg rolls in both vegetable and chicken. Personally I prefer vegetable egg rolls. All the dishes ordered were well made and delicious! Ordered takeout. Easy and fast service.

    Definately 2 thumbs up!

I have been living in Arcadia for about 13 years. I have passed by millions of times, and HAVE never stopped to eat here. My family and I LOVE Thai Food (specifically Spicy Basil w/ground Chicken). We usually drive out to East LA at one of our favorite spots. I think I will save myself a trip and continue to come here. The dish I got was ABSOLUTELY delish and they prepared it EXACTLY how I asked. Mild with ground chicken. Thank you Basil Thai Cooking for making my 1st experience here pleasant. If anyone is looking for Thai food, this place is a must try and the prices are reasonable.

    MANGO STICKY RICE

Got the usual suspects, Pad Thai with Tofu, Pad See Ew with Beef, Chicken Larb, and mango sticky rice. This place is cheaper than other Thai restaurants in the surrounding area. You get a little less, but you can tell the food is made with LOVE! DELICIOUS! You can actually taste the authenticity, not just some fast food take out. The best dish of the four, is the mango sticky rice! Mango was ripe and sweet and the rice and sauce is STICKY and SAUCY! Just the way I like it. When I go to new Thai places, I always go by how they make the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. I need to go back and try other things!

Very bland Thai food. Like, Thai food for people who don't like Thai food, if that makes sense.

The husband ran the front of house with charm and warmth and the wife I believe did most of the cooking. I stopped going after I had a not so good experience maybe a year later. They didn't seem to be able to get their liquor license and the food that last time was not as good as it had always been. Well, cut to a couple months ago, and not sure where to grab something quick on a school night, I decided to just bite the bullet and try it again, and I'm generally happy I did. The place is pretty busy these days. And, gone for now at least are the mom and pop, probably because they opened a second location near Old Town Pasadena opposite Huntington Hospital. They're probably there making sure everything can run smoothly. So me and the boyo ordered the fried wontons and the chicken sate appetizers. The fried wontons came out and were excellent. The chicken sate we ordered charred and well done, but not only did it arrive rather pale and sad despite still tasting very good, it only came at the very end of our meal. In fact were trying to get a waitress over to cancel the sate, assuming they had forgotten it completely at this point, when the other waitress ran into the kitchen and ran the plate to us. No one enjoys finishing their meal with an appetizer. Which brings me to my only other complaint, but it is why they didn't get a five star review. Service sucked, and I can't even blame it on the two lone young women left to handle the entire busy restaurant. Sorry, but they need to hire some more service help. Even one more waiter/waitress would help immensely. You could tell the main server was overwhelmed and a super large party in the middle only made her life more difficult. Still, she knew a couple who are probably regulars and a one point sat down to have a nice long chat with them while I struggled to get anyone's attention. She needs some better training on scanning a dining room before running back to the kitchen. We had to leave our hand raised for minutes each time we needed service of any kind, and that is not acceptable. Back to the food. For mains I got the cashew chicken at a spice level 2 and honestly I could've gone to a spice level 3 easily. I like spicy, and the only reason I held back was that Thai and Indian restaurants love to punish anyone who goes for a high number spice level like it's a contest of wills. Still, the dish was excellent. The boyo had the chicken panang curry and it was also fantastic. Of all the panang curries we've ever ordered, this had the most chicken we've ever gotten. You're usually left hungry pouring curry over rice once the chicken is gone, but this place gives you enough to chicken to make it a real entree. The only shame past the service and the missing appetizer arriving long after we had finished our mains and were ready to cancel it and just leave was the fact they have finally gotten their liquor license over these past few years. I should have been happy, but they honestly have chosen the worst tasting house sake for hot sake I've ever had. I've had cheap sake (the kind you usually order hot), and many of the most expensive sakes (always served cold), and this one they have I will never order again. Anyway, the bottom line is the owners need to hire another server and better train the ones they have to scan the entire restaurant every time they are in the dining room. Maybe get a better hot sake, but that's up to them. Otherwise, the food is back on point, and I highly recommend a trip to Thai Thyme. I even look to try the second location soon. Try it!

On this visit, we decided to stop by for dinner, and it reminded me exactly why we've been coming back all these years. We ordered the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Tom Yum Soup, and every dish was packed with flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the Tom Yum had that bold balance of tangy, savory, and spicy flavors, and everything tasted fresh and authentically prepared. You can tell they've stayed true to their recipes over the years. One thing that really stood out was the portion sizes. We were not expecting such generous servings for dinner and ended up with plenty of leftovers to enjoy the next day. The decor is upscale, the plating is beautiful, and the portions are surprisingly generous. The food itself tasted very good. To be fair, all of that elegance appears to be included in the bill. Compared with most Thai restaurants, the prices are noticeably higher--probably 20-30% more, sometimes even beyond that. I wouldn't have minded paying the premium if the service had matched the atmosphere. Unfortunately, it didn't. The restaurant was busy, and our table seemed to be forgotten more than once. Our final dish took over 30 minutes to arrive. Nobody checked in, nobody explained the delay, and by the end of the meal we were mostly just staring at the empty plates wondering whether the last dish had entered a witness protection program. When the check arrived, reality arrived with it. Three dishes, one coconut drink, plus tip. Just as expected, the bill marched confidently past the $100 mark. Still, none of that was the most memorable part of the evening. The most memorable part began approximately three minutes after I left the restaurant. As I sat down in my car, I noticed a faint disturbance somewhere deep within my abdomen. Nothing alarming at first. Just a small warning signal. A diplomatic message from my digestive system. Then negotiations broke down. Halfway home, my stomach launched what can only be described as a full-scale military operation. Every traffic light became a personal enemy. Every red light felt like a direct attack on my civil rights. At one point, I was calculating whether it would be faster to continue driving or start praying. I barely made it home. And when I say barely, I mean that with a level of sincerity usually reserved for survivors of natural disasters. To be fair, I cannot prove the restaurant was responsible. Maybe I have a sensitive stomach. Maybe one ingredient didn't agree with me. Maybe fate simply chose violence that evening. What I do know is this: Very few restaurants have ever served me a meal that was followed by a genuine sprint to the bathroom. The food looked fantastic. The portions were generous. The decor was beautiful. But the service was disappointing, the prices were steep, and the ending was far more exciting than I had hoped. I won't be returning. As for the salad, I wish future diners the very best of luck.

We joined their waitlist on their tablet near their counter and we were seated within 5 minutes. Just like the other location in Rowland Heights, it's very busy on a Friday night! The restaurant overall is very clean except near the entrance due to high foot traffic. It's decorated with Chinese lanterns, cherry blossom, and bamboo trees placed in the middle of the restaurant. It almost felt like I was dining at a high end restaurant. It's significantly smaller than the other location, but the high ceilings give it a spacious atmosphere. There are plenty tables and booths. Be aware the booths do move easily when you get out of your seat. We were sat in the booth closest to their entrance which I didn't mind at first, but after a while the high foot traffic was distracting (maybe they could place a divider between the waiting area and the booth). Onto the food, pricing, and service: portion is generous and they are more affordable than the Rowland Height's location. I ordered the Bbq Chicken Fried Rice. Chicken was juicy and flavorful. It was easy to take off the bone. The fried rice was light, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I couldn't finish my plate (even though I wanted to) so I boxed the rest to take home. My husband got the Continental Fried Rice. A dish Banana Bay is well-known for. The chicken skin was crispy, the fried egg was yolky in the center, the sausages were soft, and the fried rice was consistent with my plate's. Service was great and the staff was attentive even during their peak hours. I gained a sense of relief when more than one waitress checked in on us periodically. Overall, my husband and I had a great first impression. We're already talking about coming back in the near future. If you're looking for a Thai spot where you can order a plateful of food at an affordable price, this one is it!

Felt the portions were small and the dishes tasted burnt and too sweet. Found little burnt specks in our food making us wonder if they clean or use really old pans. We also found a tiny winged insect in our Rad Na. None of us were fond of the food. Felt the serve was really good, probably because of where we sat.

It's flavorful and Ong Choy is nice and crunchy. Definitely a great vegetable selection. Pad Thai: the sauce is way too heavy and sweet. We didn't enjoy this as much as we thought we would. The first taste was good, but the more you have the saltier/sweeter it gets. The lime juice didn't lighten things up either. Don't really recommend it. Crab fried rice: there's a good amount of crab and egg in this dish. The rice is on the softer side, it's not dry and hard like most fried rice. We still enjoy it, the texture of the rice didn't kill the flavor of it. The flavor is very balanced, but quite oily. Tom yum seafood soup: There's a good amount of seafood in this soup. The flavor (sweet and sour) is well balanced. Sweet rice with mango: A great dessert option to finish the meal. It is not overly sweet. I'm not a fan of coconut, but the coconut is not distinctly sweet and overwhelming (so I was able to have some). The sweet rice is chewy and warm when served. And the mango is perfectly ripe and sweet. Definitely recommend it. The service was outstanding! The restaurant decoration is very traditional and unique. They are quite busy when we arrived on a Sunday night. I would give this place an overall 3.5/5 because they can definitely work on some of the dishes.
