I got the salami bagel sandwich with the works (excl. tomato, jalapeno and onion) and it was soo yummy! It was really fresh. I also got an iced chai latte that was perfectly sweet and spiced. They have a good variety of drinks including boba, smoothies, milk teas and fruit teas along with their espresso bar. I was able to study and relax since they also have wifi. Walgreens neighbor... same exact parking lot. Really beautiful inside really designed nicely. Lots of options lots of danish kind of goodies as well as a wide variety of bagels to choose from. They have the yummy different cream cheese flavors too. Lots of Boba options. Lots and lots of Boba options. I got a turkey avocado sandwich on a plain bagel and it was delicious. Made with lots of care. It's a really lovely little oasis inside of that kind of non-descriptive shopping center sort of behind the gas station and next to Walgreens. Very yummy. We stopped by here after lunch to get some bagels for our breakfast tomorrow. I want to make breakfast sandwiches and bagels sounded like they would work out perfectly for this. This was our first time here. I believe this store is new because the sign outside said "Now Open." When we walked in we were warmly greeted by the employee behind the counter. It's nice and spacious inside with several tables for dining inside. They still had some fresh bagels available even though it was the early afternoon. We chose two sesame seed, two wheat and two onion bagels. It was $11.00 for half a dozen. The bagels were a very good size and will make a perfect breakfast sandwich for tomorrow morning. They also sell breakfast sandwiches as well as sandwiches for lunch. Next time I stop by, I will have to try their sandwiches. read more

Love coming to this spot for breakfast and finally had the opportunity to come for lunch. I tried the turkey avocado club and they sure do serve up a hearty sandwich. "The works" includes tomato, red onion, pickles, cucumber, jalapeños, and lettuce along with the turkey, cheese, bacon, and avocado. They do not skip out on anything. Huge fan of their bagels. Perfect chew and texture. I tried this sandwich on a jalapeño cheddar bagel and I didn't find it too spicy. Btw the ladies here are just so sweet and hard working! We used to go here when it was Jane Ellen's Bakery and we were disappointed that she was closing shop. We hadn't stopped by to check out the new place until today. The first thing I noticed was that they were selling baked good items that looked exactly like Jane Ellen's! So I asked and yes--they are selling her stuff. That made me very happy. Now we can still stop by to get great baked goods AND get bagels, sandwiches and drinks. I ordered a BLTA on croissant and an iced dirty chai. It took a bit to get my stuff but this place was busier than Jane Ellen's ever was. That's a good sign. I brought home my goodies and sat down to eat. The sandwich, which sounds so simple, was prepared perfectly. I really thought I would be disappointed but I was impressed. It was really good. And the iced dirty chai was delicious. Probably sweeter than I would have liked but still very good. Maybe I can ask for less sweet next time. I know they have two locations now very close to my house which is great. They have lots of seating inside which is a plus. I will definitely be back to try some bagels. read more

Basket Bagel & Bakery opened up about 4 months ago at 2686 Union Ave, San Jose, CA 95124 Cambrian Park-next to Walgreens. It's a really nice place serving many different types of warm, soft bread ring style bagels, baked in house. The bakery items, which are really fancy, come from an external bakery. The creme cheeses are really excellent quality as are their sandwiches, such as egg salad. They have a great selection of milk teas with boba and their selection of cold drinks are impressive. The restaurant and counter areas are kept very clean. The people working here are extremely nice and will customize anything you order. There is nice inside and outside seating with nicely spaced tables. Plenty of parking spaces for easy in and out. I suspect this is family owned and operated, due to the people working there caring so much about the customer. This place is so cute! They've done an amazing job transforming it -- it feels cozy, and welcoming. There are tons of options for bagel sandwiches and cream cheeses, which makes it hard to choose (in the best way). The bagel I had was fresh and tasty, and the quality overall was great. What a treat!! Tucked away in the corner next to the old Walgreens location is Basket Bagels! I always crave bagels so why would I buy from target or lucky when I can get my fresh?! I began searching and realized this place is in my neighborhood. The ambiance is so warm and welcoming!! I love they decorated for the holidays and the cheerful Snoopy animation on the wall brought a smile to my face. I got a breakfast bagel with egg, sausage, and cheese and it was delightful!! Stop by here randomly after a doctors appointment and it sure was a great idea. The moment I walked in I was greeted immediately with a warm smile. The place of this restaurant looks new and modern. They seem to have a variety of pastries and bagels. I ended up getting a bagel sandwich on the garlic bagel. The bagel tasted fresh and the garlic did not have any burnt garlic flavors like other spots. All the ingredients in the sandwich tasted fresh. The almond croissant was also very delicious. It was crispy on the outside and soft and chewy in the middle just the way I like it. This place will definitely be on my weekly rotation for coffee and snacks on my way to work read more

1000 Ways to Pi Happy Pi Day!! New owners taking over the former Jane Ellen Bakery (RiP) in the Isabella Plaza. While Jane Ellen focused more on French pastries, cakes, and desserts, this place seems to focus more on bagels, bagel sandwiches, and caffeinated sugar drinks (i.e., coffee). That's not to say they're they don't have alternatives, as there was a few small cakes and croissants available, as well. The Good: *Plentiful parking in a shared lot *Friendly service *Bagels were actually very not bad! 10× better than Noah's (blech!), but still not as good as my favorite SJSU HoBags. *Nice selection of schmears for the bagels The Meh: *Cake selection looked sparse at 0630, which leads me to believe that they were probably holdovers from the day before. I was in the area for an early appointment. Basket Bagels and Bakery was the only place opened around 6am. I realized that I had been to the bakery before, but I think it was called something else. That said, Basket Bagels and Bakery was a huge upgrade as the last place didn't offer breakfast and deli sandwiches. Customer service was excellent. The two staff members at the time were very friendly, and they cheered me up with their big smiles and great attitudes that early in the morning. I ordered an egg and lox in a garlic bagel. Loved the texture and crunchy garlic bits of the bagel. It came with a generous amount of proteins, and I liked the cheese for added flavor. I would order this again, and I'd look forward to trying other things off their menu in the future. I got their Vietnamese coffee, but I felt like it was watered down or much less bold than I'm used to. It honestly tasted more like a latte. Still tasty though. read more

I ordered a Turkey Avocado Sandwich on an Asiago Bagel. It came with turkey, red onions, tomato, pickled jalapeños, pickles, lettuce, mayo, and cucumbers! The boyfriend ordered a Sausage, Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a Pesto Bagel! His was so good as well, we've never tried a Pesto bagel and this one was super flavorful. I came here for the first time and I had a great experience with the welcoming customer service! I asked for recommendations and I got the Basket Omlette with no cheese. The bagel was very tasty and well balanced. The bacon was nice and crispy. The Egg portion is generous compared to other places. Overall, super flavorful! I might be addicted. This is my 6th visit in 2 weeks so beyond deserving of a review. Best items and combinations so far: #1 Pesto bagel toasted with cream cheese #2 Bacon egg cheese on a jalapeño cheese bagel Their bagels are a little more crusty on the outside than a place like house of bagels in downtown, but they're still moist and fluffy inside and they toast up better. Their staff is so friendly and welcoming, the place is quite clean and never any huge line. I have to scale back my addiction so maybe twice per week. Items that look amazing but never tried: Almond croissant, spinach danish, the dozen other breakfast sandwiches. Good work basket bagels! Small locally owned bagel and bake shop. Sampled the jalapeño bagel and sesame bagel w/ cream cheese. Both were light and fluffy, not dense like traditional bagels, but still had that nice bagel chew. So happy to have a shop like this 5 minutes from my house. Bonus, their Vietnamese Iced coffee is legit. Strong, yet smooth with the right amount of sweetness. Rivals Little Saigon iced coffee shops, and I don't have to drive 1/2 hour to get one. read more

I've been passing by here for months and finally stopped in. The small exterior hides a much larger, clean, well lit interior that's new and fresh. There's some nice seating (simple but with nice little sage plants at each table - 4 inside with ample space). I ordered the Lox breakfast bagel and it was great. The lox was chilled - cream cheese was fluffy and the accompanying capers, thinly sliced onion and tomato were refreshing. Their bakery cases are well lit - clean and all the other goodies from chocolate crossaints to their regular bagels looked and smelled great. Service was great as I was greeted by a smiley face and nice friendly demeanor. My order was made quickly - and I was a bit concerned that being a neighborhood type spot vs a chain type place - the foot traffic wasn't that great - but then it was a Sunday - and then all of a sudden there was a steady line of about 6 customers. This definitely is my new neighborhood spot. It doesn't feel like one of those other chain places where guys hang out all day at the same spot - people who are unhoused trying to ask for $ as you go in since it's a chain brand etc. the vibe is much more relaxed and welcoming vs a conveyer belt type of rude and demanding customers who get angry if one simple thing is off about their coveted $20 latte - I'll be back many more times and I hope the neighborhood embraces this spot to make it $$$ viable for the mom and pop ownership. Here's a hack - they don't have WIFI but there's a Dominos next door that who's free WIFi shows up and is available due to the cross proximity. read more
