The staff waits for your order but doesn't really greet you while you walk into the store. The Banana Split is delicious because you can customize the sundae to your favorite ice cream favors and toppings. I went to get a ready-made cake for my daughter's bday, thinking it would definitely be better than one from a grocery store. Lots to choose from. My daughter chose a strawberry one that was in the case. Both employees were polite and friendly, although the (clearly new) gentleman took about 10 minutes trying to box it up and finally the young woman came and did it in about 10 seconds. No biggie. My problem was the cake. When we got to our destination and tried it, it was absolutely horrible. The outer layer tasted like something chemical that definitely should not be ingested. The whipped cream on top was horrible and literally chewy. The only thing edible was the strawberry ice cream inside. Makes me think it was sitting in the case for a month or more. Essentially I spent $35+ on about a carton of strawberry ice cream. The staff team are great and always provide suggestions and honest feedback on new flavors, from scoops to splits. My favorite are the milk shakes. I like to mix mine up, always trying something new. Depending on the day and the weather, there is a line doe the creamy goodies or walking right up to the counter to place an order. The place is always clean and always has the classic favorite flavors available. My drawback with most BR31 are the prices. Once we moved over to this side of Burbank, this has been the only place we go for ice cream. It's never super packed, the employees are super nice, and they have sugar free ice cream now! Last minute Saturday night, I went to purchase a plain sheet ice cream cake for my sons birthday , as we were wanting to make our own version of Kelly's cake from the show "The Office". When we arrived we were greeted by a super polite and friendly young man by the name of George. He informed us that we were a little too late to place a cake order, however, he didn't stop there. After explaining what we were looking for, he took the time to call their cake maker Eliza to see if she would be able to add a last minute order for pick up the following day. She didn't answer the phone call and therefore George took down all my information and promised me he would call me as soon as Eliza called back. A little worried and concerned we were going to be stuck without a cake, my husband and I were trying to come with plan B. There was no need for that though, because within minutes we received a phone call from George stating that Eliza was happy to help and she would make sure our cake was ready the following day! Needless to say my sons birthday came out exactly as planned, he was super happy, and the cake was SUPER delicious!
