Wife and I had ice cream at this location Tuesday evening. Ice cream and service was fine. The place is filthy and in need of major repairs. Chairs, windows, walls very dirty. Floors were pretty messy. Couldn't possibly pass a health inspection. Four customers and only one your man working. He did a great job, but it's clear that costs are being cut. Baskin Robbins has a birthday treat of one scoop valued at $3.19 plus tax but they don't have a working scanner so when I brought in my son, I had to pay for his birthday treat. This was very disappointing because that was the whole reason we went to Baskin Robbins, to get the free treat which will expire in a few days. Therefore if you have any coupons for Baskin Robbins in Petaluma, be sure to print them or you won't be able to use them. Ever since they sold to this current manager the service has been horrid! The old manager was super nice to the locals, this manager lives in Marin and is only worried about the bottom line. The kids he hires are not about customer service and pretty much don't give a s*it. I hope the manager sees this and speaks with the owner. read more

I am giving this 2 Stars because of my history here at this location and I like BR ice cream. That is it. Otherwise, 0 Stars if possible. So I have been coming here since around 1982. This "was" my ice cream shop of choice as I have great memories coming here with my parents as a child. I cannot be more disappointed in the lack of service from this particular establishment. There are so many other choices locally. Please note that they do not have a public restroom and if your child has a bathroom emergency, you will have to go to the nearest gas station. Yep, sorry Sir, no public restrooms! So I had a fit, blew up, got a little out of pocket and we left. We went to Cold Stone and had a great time! All I wanted to do today was take out my Camaro convertible and enjoy a ride and ice cream with my daughter just as my parents did with me as a kid. Well, the staff at BR ruined that experience, but not my evening! Probably the last time I go to this BR. The last 2 times I have been there, the service has been really subpar. It is really sad but at least we have a lot of choices here in Petaluma. Sorry I had to post such a negative review, however, this experience got me so fired up I had to share on Facebook and Yelp. I give this 2 stars because they are the only place in town that I know of to get my favorite flavor of ice cream (pralines and cream). Other than that, there is absolutely no reason to go here. The staff isn't very friendly, but most of all, you cannot possibly pay more for what you get for ice cream in Petaluma. Ordering a scoop here will cost about 3 bucks and give you the smallest scoop of ice cream that you've ever seen. Ignoring the comment that this will inevitably get about expecting too large a portion, the serving size here is ridiculously small for the amount paid. Your better off going to Lala's or Coldstone where you will receive a good quality product and at least get the amount for which you've paid (unless you have to have that Pralines and cream). read more

You will never know if this place is open. Online it says open till 10. But there has been a dozen times we have gone between 8:45pm and 10pm and the place is closed. This place is hard to hate because it's ice cream and I love the mint chip and my partner loves cookies and cream. But we never can count on it being open. It also has not so great service. Staff can be slow and pretty chatty with each other when there are customers. I only go on occasion now. I found it my reliable and cheaper to buy a gallon of ice cream and eat it at home. read more

GO TO COLD STONE! Really, seriously, BR31 in Petaluma needs to be boycotted by the Petaluma Citizenry and travelers. Went in 9 days before to order cake, counter girl wasn't sure how to take a cake order so we gave her very specific instructions with written number to call if any issues came up. 3 hours until time to pick up birthday cake, store calls and reports they don't have cake pkg ordered, we agreed to change cake pkg to what they had available, we then asked for a discount. The manager called us back with an unprofessional attitude stating, "You don't know what your talking about", "we didn't make any mistakes", "this is good service", in a very sarcastic tone. (when Baskin Robbins messes up the order they are supposed to offer a refund as part of policy, this manager did not offer anything except poor customer service). We asked for the manager's name and he refused to give it, stating he is the owner, refusing to give the store number when asked. We have been going to this BR31 for 25 years, the quality of the customer service, product quality, (they have made mistakes on our prior cakes like wrong cake flavor, wrong colors, name misspelt), professionalism and cleanliness has declined over the last couple of years, with this decline comes the concern of integrity with food preparation and food quality. Worst customer service EVER! After I called and ordered an ice cream cake for my daughters birthday a week in a half in advance, I showed up to pick up the cake and was told they didn't have it. The young guy behind the counter said that the cake decorator went to the store and would be back soon. So after waiting for 20 minutes she showed up, on her cellphone, completely ignored me and the other guy working, and immediately walked out the back door to smoke a cigarette. After waiting for her for another 5 minutes I asked the kid to go get her from out back becAuse I had people showing up to my house for my daughters party. She finally came in and couldn't find my order either and said she never saw it, they asked who I spoke with, I told them it was a young man and I told them which day. She said "well Tyler worked that day and he said he didn't take your order, and he wouldn't lie, so you must have called the Rohnert park store". I said "no, I didn't call the RP store, I called the Petaluma store" she then proceeded to call other Baskin Robbin stores to see if I had called them even though I told her I didn't. And of course they all told her they didn't have an order for me because I didn't order from any other store. She then proceed to tell me there was nothing she could do for me and walked away. This whole time I was given attitude by this girl, basically called a liar by her, was never apologized to or anything. I understand things happen and things get lost occasionally, if they would have just said "I'm not sure what happened, but I'm sorry" or "is there something else I can make you" or SOMETHING! But I got nothing but attitude, and ended up spending even more that what I was planning on, on cakes that were pre made. I had to by multiple of the small cakes because I had ordered a sheet cake from them. Because of the horrible customer service, especially by their cake decorator, I will never go to this baskin robbins again. read more

The ice cream tastes like it has freezer burn, or has been melted and refrozen. The store is rather grimy, as well. Won't be back.

Used to go here all the time but it had been awhile. I can honestly say I won't be back. It was such a let down. We got 2 hot fudge sundaes and a clown cone. All the ice cream flavors tasted freezer burnt and old. Couldn't even finish eating it. And for the little amount of ice cream you get its way expensive, not worth it. Will be going to Cold Stone next time I want ice cream. read more
