The sundae came with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and nuts. We also got a french brownie (gluten free) on the side. They warmed up the brownie for us and we broke off some pieces to mix into the sundae. I was pleasantly surprised by the brownie given that it is glute free. It was super fudgey and the texture was spot on! The ice cream was really good and we enjoyed both flavors. The interior was clean and finding a seat was not at all difficult. We arrived at 9:06 PM today only to be told by staff they were already closed. We walked in and he said we're closed - I was confused if I got the time wrong. This was incredibly frustrating since both the sign on their door (please see photo) and Yelp list 9:30 PM as the closing time. Another visit to Petaluma and to Angela's Ice Cream today on Valentine's Day. Staff was extremely helpful and upbeat as usual. But one hit and one slight miss on the two cones we got. Loved the Sunrise Dutch Chocolate (with a strong hint of coffee). Very creamy, good chocolate flavor. But a miss on the Mint Chip. First few bites/licks were excellent, but at about the halfway mark, the peppermint or mint flavor became overpowering. We ended up trading our cones with each other so my wife didn't have to eat more of the mint flavor. And even I found it overpowering after about the 5th bite/lick. So, maybe go easier on the peppermint extract? Or have your tasters eat an entire cone and see if you're still enjoying the flavor balance. No change in the stars rating, though. We've been here a few times before when it was Lala's. Since change we found it quite disappointing. My best friend wanted a banana split (we aren't local to Petaluma) so we went there. They didn't have banana splits they said. What a surprise for an ice cream shop. Then I ordered a hot fudge Sunday. They didn't have those either. The young woman that helped us offered to make something similar. It was awful. First could barely find any fudge (maybe a teaspoon was all there was). The shaved chocolate was tiny very low quality chocolate chips. They wouldn't melt in my mouth. Both were slathered in some kind of awful topping supposedly whipped cream but we couldn't eat it. I asked for nuts on top. She said they had some in the back, and there was a Sunday called Gone Nuts but she came back and said there weren't any. I found my order unpleasant and ate only about 3-4 bites. I wish I would have ordered a single dip cone. That would have been so much better. We saw so many customers looking quite happy with their cones. We should have paid more attention. I would have given lower stars except the person who helped us tried, the shop was clean and cute inside and other customers looked happy with their orders. So, you might love this place. My son (2.5) and I frequent Angela's more than I care to admit... their ice cream is AMAZING. My son is obsessed with their "purple" ice cream (lavender) and I'm always trying new flavors. They have really yummy brownies too! My only complaint is that they don't have a kids size scoop and so it's a lot of ice cream of a little kid but I wouldn't be complaining if I was a kid! I had some of my friend's lavender and it was pretty good. I wish they still have tasting for the flavors before we order so I was a little disappointed because I didn't like the Jasmine Rose. I thought I would order something new or rare flavor that other ice cream shops don't have. There is also a flavor call Grasshopper! As a long time customer, Something has been off with Angelas' vegan Chocolate Almond Bliss lately! This is normally a favorite for my family and the only flavor we get, yet the last few times the taste has been chalky, Icy and Not creamy! as a Vegan, I appreciate the few vegan options and I always purchase the pints, yet this last purchase was not only bad tasting, the pint was more like a 1/2 pint of half round slivers resulting in more air then it compact with the ice cream! the price for these pints aren't cheap, so definitely felt slighted along with the insult of the taste!
