I'm not a huge fan of ice-cream, but I came in here with some friends and decided to give it a shot (I haven't eaten at a Baskin Robbins since I was a child.) The place was clean, but the staff was was offish. No hello, didn't offer samples, didn't recommend anything, etc. They looked utterly bored to be there. I ended up sharing a milkshake with my boyfriend - I think it was oreo or cookies and cream, something of that sort. The chunks of cookie were way too big to get through the straw, so it mostly tasted like sugar, ice cream, sugar, a hint of oreo, and more sugar. There wasn't much balance. I've had some good cookies and cream milkshakes before, but this isn't one of them. I may have liked if I was ten, but I would have liked more oreo flavor and less sugar/ice cream. It also melted into a brown, gooey mass pretty quickly. Boyfriend got a little sick later that day. Waaayy too much sugar for our tastes, but I guess we asked for it going to a Baskin Robbins. Had stayed away for a while based on a few awkward encounters with the owner who must have been inspired by that Seinfeld episode "The Soup Nazi". I had previously visited more regularly but the extremely interesting version of "service" combined with the highest prices I'd ever seen at a Baskin Robbins have made me into a reluctant and infrequent visitor. Anyway yesterday I ventured back with the thought of trying an old BR favorite... the Cappuccino Blast! Once I found the price was $5.85 ($6.42 including Alameda County Tax) for a medium I cringed a bit... but well, here I was. I handed the nice enough young man working the register (somewhat relieved that the ever-grumpy owner was present) and he swiped my prepaid Lexus VISA and then asked me for a PIN. "No... this is a credit card... not debit" I explained. That's when he informed me that there was a $10 minimum for credit card transactions. I responded with... "well I guess now I remember why I have haven't been coming here lately" and presented the required cash. I thought to myself that if I had only ordered the large, I'd be so darned close to $10 maybe they'd have let it slide, but then again, knowing the owner... no, maybe not! I could go on a bit about prior encounters where the owner was present or his influence most pronounced. I notice that other reviewers kind of covered that subject.. but I will still share a particularly interesting "rule" imposed on customers... "no use of cellphone while ordering". I was getting instructions from someone who was included in an order and one of the kids was demonstrating that he had been "well trained" by the owner on "enforcement". He was actually pointing to the sign to be certain I was aware of my gross violation against the narrow range of "acceptable" customer conduct. Another encounter had my wife being limited on one special per order... and basically would have had to get back in line to follow through on her promise to bring me a badly needed cone on a hot day, seems consistent with other reports of a general manner of coupon stinginess. It is impractical to present all the stories, but when taking my own experience and those of a few other Yelpers, this location could be inspiration for an SNL skit if not its own comedy series. Well if it were on service and price alone, I might be tempted with the two star or even the one star that I ordinarily would reserve to someone serving chards of broken glass... and I really wish there were a two-and-a-half star rating. Still since the photo-icing ice cream cake I purchased once was perfect... and every shake and also the most recent Cappuccino Blast were excellent, there is certainly a "win" in the quality of product category. And taking into consideration how horrible it must be to run a small business in California, I'm rounding this up to a three. read more

I was in the area today and was looking for a nice place to stop with my boys. The server greeted us with a friendly smile and "welcome to bask in robins" which I have not experience that personal touch in a public place for a while. He was very graceful and friendly. The Wife was handed her cone with a chunk of Gold Medal Ribbon dangling from it, which then dropped onto her wallet, and she held her hand there waiting a minute for someone to notice and hand her a napkin, which they did. My Jamoca Milkshake was just what I needed during my work break ! ! I watched the young guy behind the counter make my shake and it looked like he was a 1/4 short of filling my cup...luckily the older lady behind the counter caught him and made him RE-MAKE my shake so that'd it be filled to the rim - SWEET! If she hadn't of done that, their rating would've gone down... My shake was delicious and kudos for great service!!! read more

We were helped by the kind and very charismatic Abby! She was a bubbly young lady and my boyfriend and I were sharing good laughs with her! You can never go wrong with the ice cream at BR! This location has 44 flavors not just 31 which i thought was pretty cool! I don't usually write reviews for a big chain like this but i thought since the service was a fun laugh filled experience I would be sure to let the owners know that Abby is great and should be appreciated! I have been here before and the service was just "eh" so a real nice step up!! My only complaint is that for the two of us our total came out to be $15 which is why i don't come here often, but when I do i know it's a good treat. Thanks BR! read more

Came in on a summer evening and the place was dirty and poorly lit. There were 10 people in line and only one person serving. One would think that an ice cream parlor on a summer night would have adequate staffing. Had to wait a very long time to get our ice cream, and then waited again to pay for it. Employees who were serving ice cream were not wearing gloves. We drove across town to come here because of the franchise name, but were disappointed. Bad location, long lines, dirty shop. Helpful with an ice cream cake when I was in a time crunch. I only had a few minutes to pick up an ice cream cake, the shop was busy with other customers - but the customer service was terrific. I had a personal message written on my cake & was out the door quickly. The cake was devoured by my co-workers - huge hit. ZERO STAR for this location! This is under new management (August 2020) to all you Yelpers. I ordered a birthday cake from them in August 2020 and what a disappointment! He lied and deceived me. He took my money without offering a refund. The cake is 9" round cake and so short compare to the one I ordered back in May 2020 from previous management. I called this Jordan (new owner) about my disappointment and he never answered his phone. Then I started texting him and he texted back. We basically communicated through text. Then he offered to bring my whole family for a free ice cream.. Really?! He thinks that he can fix a ruined kid's birthday party by offering a free ice cream. I called 2 BR locations around the area and one employee said, they do cake by pounds and a 9" round cake usually is 4 - 5 lbs. and the other location said a 9" round cake is between 3 - 4 inches tall. We went as a family to enjoy the $0.31/scoop promotion and to also help support the local fire departments with our donation. Place was clean. Size of each ice cream scoop was satisfactory. Ice cream taste was fantastic! I love ice cream, even on cold days. The flavor I selected was Jamoca Oreo Cookies & Cream. LOVED it! Would have loved to have seen a cheesecake flavor though. Would have given it 5 stars, but our server was not up to speed with the fact that each customer was allowed to have more than one scoop at the $0.31/scoop price. I blame that on the training. Management should have made sure that each employee starting their shift was aware of that important detail. read more

Do I really have to give this place a minimum of 1 star? They don't even deserve that!! I had the worst experience ordering an ice cream cake here. First off, I'm not sure if the older woman is the franchise owner or someone who just isn't happy working inside of a Baskin Robbins. We went in on a Sunday to view the cakes and place an order. Before I could even get to the counter, the older woman says "Are you ordering a cake?" My response was yes, so she proceeded to say, well you need to pay $6.50 for a rush service. My husband and I looked at each other and said okaayyyy...not a problem. She then took our order and said, okay, now I need your money. The correct response should have been, is there anything else I can get you? I proceeded to ask her...is it okay if we buy some scoops of ice-cream? She ended up serving us our ice cream and we were done with her...however, the story continues. The next day, we were around the area and popped in (before our scheduled time of cake pick up) just to see if the cake was ready and to get a scoop for our son, who was celebrating his 6th Birthday. We were told the cake was not ready. I said, no worries, we were just checking because we were in the area. We mentioned it was our son's 6th birthday and had ordered a cake. We also mentioned the free scoop, but before we could say anything further, Stephanie said 'we can't help you. you have to print the coupon'. Okay, well never mind, just crush my son's hope of a free scoop. So, the story gets better. We had an extreme heat wave in the area and lots of homes and businesses lost power. I received a call from 'Stephanie' @6:24pm stating that they lost power and I needed to come get my cake at 7pm. My family and I quickly wrapped up dinner and got there as soon as we could to see a sign that said "Temporarily Closed". I called the next few hours but there was no answer. So today, my husband called to see how this would be handled. Since it was closed, we couldn't pick up the cake for his birthday. "Stephanie" was EXTREMELY rude and said there was nothing they could do. She stated she called us several of times and that they had offered to drive the cake to us. This was a blatant lie, due to the fact that I still had the call and message log on my cell phone and it showed 1! call. She didn't offer a credit, or apologize in any way shape or form. Her attitude was basically 'too bad'. I asked to speak to a manager and she addressed herself as 'the manager'. It would be hard to believe that the franchise owner would consider putting someone in this type of leadership role with such poor customer service skills. I then asked for the Franchise owners name and number, which she stated, this is the only number. I then asked if she could provide Baskin Robbins' Corporate headquarters number. She proceeded to argue and say, you can call, but it will just get routed back to me. At this point, I was done dealing with her and said, no worries, I will dispute my CC charge and since YOU are the manager, you can deal with that. I was so disgusted that someone would talk to a customer in this manner. Long story short, I got a hold of the Corp # and spoke to a representative by the name of Brittany. She was fabulous and patched my message through to Hussein who is the Regional District Manager who oversees the franchises. He called and took care of the situation the same night. The next day, 'Stephanie' called me and said I could come in and get a refund at any time. Needless to say, I will NOT be dealing with her at all. I highly recommend she take some classes in Customer Service or pick up the book "Customer Service for Dummies" at the local Barnes and Noble. I love the workers and ice cream at Baskin Robbins but the last three times I've gone they've closed super early (ranging from 30 mins to an hour early). Went here on Sunday night and the ladies behind the counter were great and SUPER friendly! My toddler lost a set of our car keys while we were out and I called the next day to see if maybe he dropped them there. They answered the phone and were really nice & took my information down. About an hour later I got a phone call back from them saying they unfortunately didn't find the keys but have talked to the staff the night before and looked around. Never did I expect for them to actually follow up - especially if the keys weren't found - but they did call and they were soooo Sweet about the whole situation even though they weren't able to find the key!! Horrible customer service at Pleasanton,CA, USA 4001-2 during closing time. Will not come here if I can't be given the correct closing time when I call for COVID times. To the CEO & manger, please find out which associate lied to me about closing time on 8/15/2020 & train them properly if they need training or let them go. The person who answered the phone was a female voice & told me they closed at 10pm on 8/15/2020. I get there at 9pm on 8/15/2020 for a take out order to find that they said they are closed. I work accross the street and often go here, but apparently they have hired new girls or I went on the worst day.. anyways, we ordered milk shakes for the office and just after the first order the worker was like you have more? Like.. yes we have more, do you not want our business? After rudely taking all the orders she hands them to us without cup holder, we kindly ask her for some because we had more then our hands could walk with. After walking a few feet away from the shop, all the drinks fall through the cup holders. YES, THEY ALL BLEW UP ON THE FLOOR. We called and told them what happen and if we could come back and get new ones, she didn't believe us and told us to bring her proof. After showing her the nasty sticky proof she still began to argue with us. We obviously didn't go save the drinks somewhere so why not give us new ones. Hands down, the worst customer service from a manager that I've ever seen. I just got home from a terrible ice cream parlor experience. And, really.....how often can one say that? When I got home from this place, I read the Yelp reviews, and I think about 50% of them say the manager (not sure if he's the owner also) is rude, cheap, & basically a jerk to customers. My wife, 2 year old daughter, & I went there for a couple sundaes. We had a coupon for buy 1, get the 2nd for 99 cents. First off, the place has a sign saying you have to present any coupons prior to ordering. Now why the heck would this be necessary???? Perhaps so they can give you less ice cream or toppings if you're using a coupon??? What kind of ridiculous policy is that? Anyway, we proceeded to order our 2 sundaes. The girl behind the counter was perfectly nice. Although I feel sorry for her having to work under this jerk. The girl charged us $7.39. I questioned this, as it should've been 1 sundae for $4.99, and the 2nd sundae for $0.99. That would make $5.98 + 9.75% tax = $6.56. She said they charge tax on the regular price-----which I don't normally experience any other time I go out to eat & have any sort of discount. They're basically charging tax on a higher amount than was actually my subtotal. A minute later, this guy comes out from the back, completely confrontational, and demands to know if there's a problem. I told him yes, and explained my position. He proceeded to start yelling at me asking whether I was from the State Board of Equalization. Again....really? Who does this? And especially....what kind of MANAGER does this? Terrible business sense & awful treatment of a customer. Reading the other reviews, it's very plain & easy to see that this guy has definitely been rude to many other customers, and his payment policies are not customer friendly by any means. One last thing, no credit cards unless your purchase is over $10. Surprise! Surprise! I know you're shocked to read this revelation. I understand this is illegal too, but I'm not sure of the exact rule. There is ZERO chance I will ever go to this place again! This was my first visit to this location. But I think this is the worst Baskin Robbins I ever been to. There was a server there that was practicing scooping ice cream out, turning around to weight it on a scale, and then returning and pushing the ice cream back into the original container. She just kept on doing this over and over again with various flavor of ice cream. It just doesn't seem sanitary. Their scoops are the smallest. I guess that is why the owner has the servers practice weighing the scoops. I have never seen an owner of a business be so rude to a customer. It was kind of funny. A customer opened one of the freezer door to look at the ice cream cake, and the next thing we know the owner came out and locked up the freezer door with a chain and basically told that customer to leave. Terrible customer service. Workers incredibly unpleasant. Walked in a little after 2:30pm. I was not greeted in any form. There were two women working, one off to the side making something and another assisting two gentlemen currently being helped, then they both sat down and were waiting for their order. I stood, still un greeted and still ignored, while Sofia continuously walked back and forth past me preparing the previous order. When I was finally helped there was no apology for the wait or any type of other good customer service. Upon paying and leaving, they didn't even say "have a nice day" or anything of that sort. The manager/owner, whatever is rude and all about his money -- he came up to one of his employees while serving us and told hi to tell us that chocolate syrup is 99 cents more. I love baskin robbins ice cream however this locations sevice is very poor. I purchased something that I decided I didn't like. When I started to drink my smoothie, they told me they used concentrated fruits, not natural and fresh. my mango drink tasted like chemicals. They wouldn't give my money back because the manager was the only one who knew how to do it, they also refuse to give me something in exchange for the drink. I would've been happy with a scoop of ice cream. They simply told me that If I didn't like it and wanted something else, I'd have to make another purchase. I WILL NIEVER IN MY LIFE GO BACK TO THIS PLACE!!! All 3 of the people working stared at me as if I were crazy for coming in 30 minutes before closing! And it looked as if I interrupted their important conversation as I waited for them to finish what they were talking and laughing about to help me. The younger guy that was getting our ice cream (I say "getting our ice cream because in no way at all was he helpful) was more than happy to say that they had no more waffle cones and then made it very clear that he was annoyed that I ordered a banana royale. He then gave me the smallest portions possible and the smallest banana royale that I have ever received from any Baskin Robbins. I also ordered 3 more ice creams for my parents and girl friend and they were all incredibly small portions and to top it off the kid shoved it into my hand as if he were angry. I was a manager at 4 restaurants and I would have never allowed that kind of service to any of my customers. I go into this Baskin Robbins a couple times a month because I live down the street and spend around $30 per month with my family. If you do the math that is about $360 a year. It might not be much money but this one will never see my money again. I will be going to the Baskin Robbins on Regional Street in Dublin because the service is wayyyyyyyy better. I suggest anyone else that reads this to do the same. The people are a whole lot nicer and it is well worth saving yourself the heartache. I never understood why some businesses treat good people badly. That is not how customer service works and the manager and or owner should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to happen. Arrived at Baskin Robbins on a Friday evening (3/15) at 5 minutes before closing. As soon as our car pulled up the workers looked out the window with disgust, she let out a big sigh - disappointed to see customers excited for ice cream? Seriously? Once my family unloaded from the car the worker walked over to the window to turn off the flashing open sign and tell us they would not serve us ice cream.
