The bartender initially starter the order process and then a waitress, who was herself new- was assigned, and kept coming out to check on us.... as people walked past our table with luggage. The food was salty and the menu itself was decidedly not european, as billed. A disappointment to say the least. While I may stay at the hotel in the future- I will find a better place to take my meals. While I was not amused, one could say I was Amused.

The appetizers we ordered were the maple miso Brussel Sprouts and the spare ribs. The spare ribs were so tough with barely any meat on them. I felt like a caveman trying to gnaw them off the bone. My partner got the Brussels, and while the flavor was ok, a lot of them were inedible because they were hard and raw in the center. Service was slow. We were sat at 5pm, our orders were in at 5:10pm, and we literally waited an hour to get our entrees after an unsuccessful appetizer. Partner got the chicken, and I got the lemon haddock. The chicken was just OK, accompanied with some OK mashed potatoes, and lo and behold, some BURNT brussel sprouts (cannot make this up). The fish was surprisingly good, with no bones and a nice lemony flavor, but it was not good enough for the $100+ bill I paid. While we were sitting, the entire time, a drummer was appointed to fill the room with live music. As a musician, this many literally "rat a tat tatted" randomly for an HOUR, akin to a 5-year old trying to learn how to play the drums, and then proceeded to do a "set" which consisted of him playing random drum noises at 6pm, filled with intermittent pauses. This was especially annoying since, we wouldn't have minded if the music was GOOD or the drums were accompanied by some other music. But they were not. Ice cream came last. My partner said it was hard to mess up ice cream, but here we are, with freezer burnt ice cream that is barely edible. Of course, it would be unfair to give criticism without constructive feedback, so what does the sea hag do well and what would I change? Like their name, they do really well with fish, and so I would lean into that. I have no idea why in gods name they would move to other meats, because clearly the chef is not experienced in that, as evidenced by the tough spare ribs and OK chicken. They also need a consistent way to cook vegetables. I feel like this is a basic skill that this restaurant is clearly lacking. Im sure the musician is great at drumming, but he needs to do so somewhere else, in a band or some other venue. This place was not it. I felt like I was witnessing a garage practice session rather than a performance. Finally, they need to have faster service. It is inexcusable how slowly we were served for the quality of food we got. I cannot believe I spent 100$+ on such a let-down meal, and I hope you don't make the same mistake I did. When I applied for Elite, my application was based on me being a teacher, in this economy, where every dollar counts, and I wanted to make sure other people knew where they could save their money. Unless the sea hag makes drastic changes, do not waste your money or time coming here. It's not worth it. A little light on the crab and heavy on the potatoes. Duck breast (10/10): Duck was cooked perfectly. Rich flavor, tender, and beautifully presented. Pork chop (8/10): Ordered medium but was a little over. The crispy onions were a little stale, but the cranberry pecan bread stuffing made up for it. Pie of the day (100/10): Star of the show. Mixed berry apple pie served warm with vanilla bean ice cream. Buttery crust, perfect balance of tart and sweet. Truly one of the best pies I've ever had. It was a treat to finally come back for a family member's birthday dinner. We sat inside which I don't remember having been in, and it's a nice calming space and not too busy. The menu is a bit different from before, but just as impressive. All of us went for this excellent fixed dinner option of NY strip steak in a delicious sauce, baguettes, a great salad, and bottomless frites! You could also substitute the steak for mussels. We also got a side order of spinach and started with lemon garlic herb escargot, which I remember from before and tasted just as wonderful and rich as it always had. Everything was delicious, and the service was great too. They even brought us a slice of butter cake with ice cream which I loved. Breakfast was served at the Paperback Tavern from 6:30am until 11am (weekends). We were seated at 10:30am and took 10 mins to get a waiter and after placing our order took another 15 mins to get my coffee . The breakfast buffet had not been refreshed since we arrived at least for 45 mins. Service was slow, our waiter was inexperienced and did not refill my coffee until I asked. And they brought out our food and forgot my wife's side of bacon. She was almost done with her meal. Management needs to train staff; and staff accordingly. Not a great experience, we have three more nights here. Good luck to us, could it get any worst?
