Came here for my brother and his friend's B-day celebration in the back room. The room is large and can fit 100. First thing I didn't like (and this seems to be a ATL theme for almost EVERY restaurant) was the music was so loud I could barely hear what people there were saying...I had to lean in every time. Second thing was, when the party was near full tilt, we only had 2 servers working a room of 60. That wasn't cutting it. I (and my friend next to me) was starrrrrving and had to wait a hour for appetizers and entree. That's the bad. The good is: the food was WELL worth the wait! I wanted to play it safe and get a basic dish, because the prices didn't fit the club-like ambiance (which included a doorman asking for ID and valets smoking weed in their lil corner while waiting to park cars!). I got the roast 1/2 chicken with mash and broccolini, but started with the Tostones (fried and peppered with salsa and a dish of guac). Both were outta here! I was really impressed with the Tostones being fried, because they usually are really dry and flavorless. These were absolutely fantastic. The chicken was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The brown gravy on the mash was kinda ordinary and very salty. Man, did we inhale that food! We weren't trying to be all proper in front of everybody...we ate like straight pigs. Lol. Came here for a early Saturday night dinner reservation around 6PM. I've been so excited to try this place after seeing it on tiktok. The only parking option was valet for $20. We came here with a group of friends visiting from out of town. We originally reserved for 6:30pm, however they called back to tell us it is at 5:30pm. We had to rearrange our schedule to make the reservation they had given us. When we got there, our friend arrived a few min before 5:30, and although he parked they made him give his keys since it's valet only, and this is a stand alone building. When informing us we did prepare for valet but since we got there after 5:30, valet was $20 and cash only! Just getting in here was such a trial. This was by far the most entertainment I have ever received while dining out! We arrived at 8pm to a saxophonist playing smooth old school r&b. He was phenomenal! The DJ definitely knew what he was doing because the night transitioned seamlessly from R&B to hip hop and reggae and Latin then trap music. I thoroughly enjoyed the jams. It was my cousin's birthday celebration so we also had a cake and song with champagne and sparklers and the largest slice of red velvet cake I've even seen/eaten. There were carnival dancers too! Super small , offer valet (price I'm not sure ) and there is scattered parking around like normal (park at own risk). If you show up without one may the odds be in your favor (we had one due to large bday party). The place was cute with TVs all around (art not games or anything fellas ). Blue couches , small tables and a bar. Most of the room was couches (sections ). Hint if you been to follies before and know where the decorations (pole) were you will noticed that they are now trees inside bAtsi. (See pictures ). The vibe was dope , music was better , and they have women dancing in carnival similar outfits. Food: the food range from $15-$50 in food pricing. I had the shrimp pasta (see picture ). My shrimp was perfectly blackened but don't quote me on your shrimp because my friend next me shrimp didn't have an ounce of blackened seasoning it look just a Sautéed. But flavor was decent, nothing crazy and the shrimp were huge. Lamb chops were eaten by my friend and she didn't complain. (See picture ) Drinks : We had bottles and I think the lowest was $200 or $250 for one maybe more. Drinks were $20 and up mostly. But from what I saw very Instagram worthy ! This was never told to me. They messaged me 4 days straight asking was I coming I kept telling them yes. They never one time told me they serving breakfast all day only on Sunday. I arrive early, but after being seated with most guest in attendance, we did not get drinks to After an hour of seating. The table was in the back, not in the regular area so when the dancing started, we had to get up to go see the dancers however, the place was crowded. But nearly no one had food or you couldn't smell any food. It was two hours and 10 minutes before my appetizer and it was cold. I asked for the times and I never got to see. When the waitress brought the food to the table, she didn't know who ordered what because she didn't write it down. Just like with the drinks it's not a so I shouldn't out who ordered what I should've my friends. My girlfriend she talked to the manager and she explained that they had a rough night. Not my monkey not my circus, but it was my money and I didn't appreciate how Basti decide how I was gonna spend it. I'm 59 years old. This place I would give up to 3.5 stars but you can't give half star, the high stars are mainly because of the ambience. The place is very well put together and Instagram worthy!! They have a huge outdoor patio space that's very cute with a bar, and a VIP room. All very nicely decorated. I think you can actually still see some of the poles that they left in place from the previous owners. lol. Overall, it was a Very hip place but the service was just OK and the food was just ok as well. We had to ask the servers for everything. I didn't like the fact that we had to ask them to get extra chairs for our guest and for any services, plus any water cost $5, They say they are fine dining but for some reason I didn't feel like it was fine dining. Maybe partly because it used to be the old Follies strip club Haha. However, the price was fine dining price and food was on the saltier side. The lobster plate was way too salty and the scallop potatoes were not fully cooked. The sea bass was cooked perfectly but it was the one dish that was under seasoned. Unfortunately the best thing on that plate was the few small pieces of bok choy because the rice was very plain. The lamb dish, they gave you three pieces of lamb chop, which was cooked well but the sauce was too sweet and did not complimented well. Better to eat the lamb without any sauce. The pasta salmon dish to me was very good but others said it was also too salty. It was probably the biggest portioned dish. The calamari and the aïoli dipping sauce was perfect. And the corn cheese grits were also very good! The most disappointing dish was the lump crab watermelon salad. The dressing was so weird to me. It was like a Mexican tamarind sauce. It just did not go well together at all, for a $20 salad plate you only got a salad that was one fifth of the plate. Their average cocktail cost was $20 they had one for 30$ and honestly they weren't as pretty as as I would expect it to be. Now that I have time ... I need to speak on this. My birthday was Monday July 3rd , I found Batsi through TikTok and word of mouth from various friends! The vibe looked lit so why not? Parking was free that night. That's always a plus. We get there, we are immediately seated for a table of 9. The ambiance was beautiful, the lighting, music and underwater theme. Our reservation was for 9:30pm , after a few conversations over what were going to drink and eat the time hit close to 10:30 and we were still not greeted by a waitress. My family and friends had to continuously ask when we would be served between the time we were seated until 10:30. Only to find out there were 2 waitresses working that night. OK COOL. The place was not busy at all I would say maybe 5 other parties in the building including mine. We finally got orders taken and that took about 10-15 mins to receive drinks and food after arriving at 9:30 and being greeted at 10:30. The food was decent , the drinks were OK , there weren't any dancers , really nothing to rave about and definitely a HUGE lack of communication amongst the staff, to the customers. It was my birthday and I was kind of disappointed at the service taking almost an hour and a half. Probably won't be back ... if you wanna see the inside take nice pictures by all means go right ahead but be prepared for a wait. Even the table next to mine asked a guest at my table if the service was good. Now what does that tell you? Such a shame , although they have been open for only a year. I hope they work on getting some people hired and cater to the customers more. The bill was $600 for 9 people. Waters are $5 , Fiji to be more specific. They tried to charge us for 8 waters instead of the 6 that they gave my table. Plus a 25% gratuity tax automatically added. And no you cannot split the bill! So READ OVER YOUR BILL THREE TIMES. I wish I could give zero stars!!! I had family to come visit on Nov 1st, this past Saturday and we chose Batsi to eat. This place was recommended to me from someone who knows the owner and swore by it being good all around, boy were they WRONG!!! I should've known it was going to be a bad experience when we walked in and it smelled like sewage. As we were seated, I asked to speak to the manager to try to get an understanding about the smell, it took Lexi, 20 minutes to come to our table, mind you, the place was not busy at all, we had an early reservation. She gave the best excuse she could for the smell. Apparently, others were complaining because they started walking around lighting candles and spraying an overbearing "cherry" smelling spray while we were trying to eat. We didn't get water for about 10 minutes, we had no place settings, we had to walk up to the bar and get them ourselves. Our drink order was taken about 30 minutes in. One of my family members ordered a salad, NEVER GOT IT! The food was just ok. You have to pay for parking, tip the valet, pay 20% gratuity on your check, get HORRIBLE service and just ok food, for top dollar. Not acceptable. I would think 3 times over before coming here. Visit if you have money to waste. Just coming through the door with the smell, we should've just turn around. I don't recommend this place at all. Re-train your staff, from managers on down. I actually went for a friends birthday dinner. My only downside of the whole experience was the wait staffs uniforms. The corsets are adorable however the biker shorts make them look cheap. A fitted black pencil skirt or black slacks and ballerina flats would bring the establishment up a notch. Not fond of the shorts at all. And the women were beautiful. Just didn't want to see their body prints while I was eating. No shade. This is coming from a place of love. It makes them look cheap and I hate it for them. Food was top tier. I'm giving Batsi three stars because the food was excellent and the atmosphere was nice. The waitress did her best, so no complaints there. My complaint comes with after paying almost $700 for five people, we were basically kicked out. The money was not the issue, it was the customer service. There's a two hour minimum and a $50 deposit for all tables so we asked if we could sit at the bar to finish the champagne we had ordered for a birthday celebration. The waitress said yes, but once we got to the bar we were told we were not allowed because we had a gotten up from a table. WTF!!! Do you'll want to make money or not? If you'll want to change some rules Batsi. I've been to a lot of classy restaurants and Batsi could at least offer free water. Thats right, even the best restaurants offer water. Oh and Valet parking is mandatory for those who want to park their own car. Batsi disappointed me from the parking to the prices of food and the automatic 25% gratuity added to each tab. Parking is an automatic $20 fee. They say it's "valet" but the parking lot has plenty of spots to park and they are all close to the resteraunt and you park yourself unless you want valet to do it but it's kinda pointless. They may as well say it's $20 to park. Either way, that's ridiculous! There's really no other option to park except across the street in a shopping plaza or the other businesses next to it which I guess would work if it's not during daytime business hours. But I'm highly disappointed about the parking. I'd rather Uber or Lyft there but I live kinda far so that's not a good option for me. But if you live close, definitely consider it. Then we go inside. The reason I gave at least 3 stars is because the ambiance is amazing! Also, the food was good. It came out pretty fast. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing but it definitely tasted fresh. But even with the food being good, I feel the prices are kind of expensive. Especially with having to pay $20 to park. Then, they add a 20 or 25% gratuity automatically to each check! Typically this happens if you have a large party but it was literally 2 of us and the waitress barely had to and barely did anything for us and they charged us 25% gratuity which ended up giving the waitress something like a $25 or $28 tip. I don't think I'll be back unless I plan to park elsewhere and maybe just for the hookah which I didn't do but I think I saw that the price was $50.
