Do they have any gluten free options?

At this time we don't have gluten free waffles, sorry! We do have breakfast options without waffles, however. And we're always happy to make custom breakfasts, whenever we can.

Any vegetarian breakfast options?

We can substitute Hashbrowns for meat on any of the sandwich options. We also have fruit & waffle options. We will have a Blueberry/Lemon waffle on the menu thru the end of July. Hope this Helps! Julie Robinson

We hung onto the aioli so hubby could dip his fries. My meal was so good. The chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful. The batter was just perfect and crisp. Mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. Gravy was rich and well-seasoned. Collard greens were so tasty. The balance of textures was just perfection. I ended up having to pack up a piece of chicken because it was so much food, but I enjoyed every bite I was able to take of my meal. I ordered chicken and waffles that looked wonderful, the person I ordered from told me that the waffle stuck a bit to the bottom of the waffle maker so they had another waffle being made for me and it would be out in a second. I looked at the "stuck" waffle and it looked great still so I told them there was no need for a second waffle, the person just smiled and said it was already being cooked. Sandwich came out cold. Bacon overcooked. Egg cooked over hard, was not asked how I wanted it. When I went to the counter to let them know, they said sorry and then made it my fault that I didn't let them know sooner. I had taken about 3 bites. They didn't offer to refund after I said that I was not interested in having them remake it. The highlight of our visit was definitely the service. Our server was absolutely fantastic--friendly, attentive, quick, and always checking in at just the right times. Honestly, 10/10 service and a big reason we'd come back. As for the food, I'd say it was solid. We skipped some of their popular waffle dishes and stuck with more traditional breakfast options. Everything was well-seasoned, the portions were generous, and we left full. Nothing really stood out as a "wow" dish, but it was a good, satisfying breakfast. The drinks were decent as well. The atmosphere is pretty simple and doesn't have a lot of wow factor, but it feels like a neighborhood breakfast spot where the focus is on good food and even better hospitality. Overall, a solid local place with outstanding service, and next time we'll have to come back and give those famous waffles a try.

So, after trying a handful of options it seemed Bannings was the only place we could still get breakfast so I begrudgingly agreed. Well, I was mistaken! I got the breakfast enchiladas and a strawberry orange mimosa. Now, the mimosa - I'll get that out of the way first. It was weird - it looked curdled. It just had mashed strawberry at the bottom and it actually was quite good. I'd do a normal mimosa in the future, but good. But the enchiladas - delicious. Like, I'll come back again and again for those. And they didn't charge me extra for the avocado, which I think is righteous because I asked for no hash browns. But not all places would do that, they'd nickel and dime even if you passed on one side for another. Additionally; my husband likes a savory breakfast and a sweet one too - so he often gets two breakfasts and though he may not eat all of both he gets that savory and sweet. Well, the omelettes come with 3 pancakes. Perfection. And, I took 3 bites of them - I usually might try 1 or not at all - they are very very good. Last - it did not break the bank. I've about ruled out breakfast out because of how crazy expensive the places that should be reasonable are. This was reasonable - PLEASE DONT CHANGE!! All in all 5 stars, will be back for breakfast; and hey - when I'm wrong I can admit I was wrong! Give them a try if you haven't!

Just good food in a family-style diner kind of atmosphere. The Belgian Waffle is always a good choice, in my book. But they have plenty of breakfast scrambles and platters, too. And the burgers here are pretty darn good. But if you are at all in the mood, definitely try their pies. You see them right by the door, tempting you as soon as you walk in. And while my friend can vouch how their Pumpkin Pie is legendary (especially around the autumn holidays), I can say with certainty you want to try their Key Lime Pie! Prices are pretty decent for the portions you get. And service is generally very friendly and prompt, though they can get a little backed up on weekend mornings. Parking is also typically easy. And if the weather is nice, I would recommend taking a seat out on the patio. So yeah, nothing fancy, which is sometimes what you really need. This has become one of our most frequented breakfast stops when visiting PDX, and I can definitely forsee returning.
