mac daddy waffle sandwich // mvp waffle sandwich

My cousin and I wanted to stop here before our pre-hike. Oh boy was this a heavy meal that I felt like I wanted to go into food coma afterwards lol. It was still early so there wasn't much people on a Wednesday morning. Batter Up specialize in waffle sandwiches and when I saw the mac daddy waffle sandwich on the menu, I knew I had to order it. It was Mac n cheese style waffle. Omg. Honestly portions were so big and filling. I could have shared it with my cousin but we each ordered our own. Love the hashbrowns. Definitely got some leftovers. She ordered the mvp waffle sandwich which had meat patty in the waffle sandwich. Dang that looks good too. Overall, staff were super friendly and welcoming. Service was quick!

10/10 i love this spot, definitely get a waffle sandwich and red velvet lolly waffle.

Breakfast bowl with potatoes, bacon, sausage, and eggs any way you'd like them-so good!!!

Casual diner with great food! Lots of parking available and space to meet up with friends or family. Service was friendly and quick, with helpful suggestions. Looking forward to trying something else on the next visit!

I've driven by this place many times but I never felt the craving to go. We heard from a friend that this place was struggling, so I thought I would go and show some support and finally try this place out. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised! I don't tend to eat brunch or heavy American breakfast like waffles and pancakes much but this spot had some pretty good waffles. I got the Pinch Hitter, which is a waffle sandwich with chicken sausage, egg, and Havarti cheese. Although the waffle got a bit soggy from condensation, it was still an enjoyable sandwich, the perfect combination of sweet and savory. If you're down for some classic waffles and breakfast sandwiches, this is the perfect spot for it!

We stopped in on a Sunday morning. I thought It would be like most places in the city and jammed. It was not. We arrived shortly after opening and found it mostly empty. You place your order at the counter and they call your number when it's ready. The food was tasty and quick. It has a pub atmosphere so it might be fun in the evenings as there is a full bar. It may be good in the evening and the next day if you feel like a little Irish for your coffee. Bathrooms require a key and are outside and around the corner. All in all a good stop and I would definitely stop again.

Casual spot. We went late and the breakfast was still really good and they still had fresh coffee. The chicken and waffles was really good. Big pieces of chicken over a full sized waffle. I had the barnyard scramble which was great if you aren't in the mood for something sweet. Very relaxed vibe. Very clean and well organized.

Ace and MVP sandwich. And fielders choice.

Craving waffles, we tried Batter Up. Disappointed they were out of chicken for their famous dish, we opted for the MVP and Ace waffle sandwiches, plus a custom Fielder's choice. The Fielder's waffle was crispier and tastier than the sandwich waffle, so my son ended up eating his sandwich deconstructed. The service and food were good, and the place was clean, but the outdoor bathroom situation was inconvenient. We need to leave and go around to the back to the bathrooms, which is not convenient with kids.

Went to the soft opening. Food was AMAZING. Friendly service. Owner(John) Came out to greet us. Also checked up on us to make sure meal was good. Prices are reasonable, service is great. Food was ON POINT. Will be frequenting it again, Now that it is alot closer to my house. Please come and support this local business..

Chicken and waffles delicious!! My friend recommended this place highly and it did not disappoint! Nice service and chill vibes.

Waffles without all the hassle! I really liked my Cheesecake waffle with strawberries! It was not overly sweet but well balanced and the waffle was easy to cute with my knife. They are large waffles that fill you up, so it's okay to go hungry! They also have a full bar so you can pair your waffle with a Bloody Mary or mimosa, for a full breakfast experience.

Friday 9/22/23 I got a takeout order: fielders choice (3 sides: 2 French toast sides & 1 waffle side) for $11.75, the mvp (waffle breakfast sandwich) for $9.75, and the cinnamon Lolly waffle for $2.50. The fielders choice allows you choose ANY 3 sides for the flat price of $11.75 which is a great value option. The waffle was solid but the French toast was horrible. The mvp sandwich is a cool idea but it wasn't as good as expected and it's a little pricey for the size of the sandwich you end up getting. The cinnamon Lolly waffle was unique and decent. All in all, this place is solid but nothing here really stands out but if you absolutely love waffles I'd recommend you checking it out.

I got the 1-piece chicken and waffle and it didn't disappoint. It's exactly what I wanted and expected. I also tried the gingerbread latte and that wasn't bad either. The woman who took our order was very friendly and personable. It took us a while to try this out because we mostly think about it after they close. It's interesting they have a bar area but it's also a good place for kids.

Best waffle fries around! Lots of food and drink options. Smoothies are very good. The waffle fries are my favorite. The waffle sandwich has a lot of interesting flavors but was too rich for me. I didn't like the taste of the sausage patty or the american cheese. I give it a 2/5. My partner really loved the waffle sandwich and give it a 5/5.

    I don't think they do.

How many calories does the cheesecake waffle have?

If you have to ask, too many.

Does batter up have good quality coffee and espresso drinks?

The coffee was delish! Both the regular coffee and the espresso drinks were tasty.

    Do you have mimosas?

Hi Tanya, Thanks for reaching out to us. Batter Up does not. But Good news! We are in a food hall and there is a bar right next to us that serves a variety of mimosas. We hope you'll stop by! Sincerely, Julie Robinson - Owner

I recently was at your Beaverton BG Food Cartel location and had a sandwich with sausage, bacon, maple butter, cheddar cheese and spiced apples. Do you know what it is called? It was delicious!

We're are not at the BG food cartel. You must have been at another place. I do invite you to…

At this time we don't have gluten free waffles, sorry! We do have breakfast options without waffles, however. And we're always happy to make custom breakfasts, whenever we can.

I know they get busy on weekends but we had no problem making a reservation and being seated promptly indoors. Their indoor space can get quite loud. They do have a covered side patio as well. We ordered some of their classic dishes: chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, banana foster French toast. Everything was absolutely delicious. I did feel some sticker shock at the prices ($17-24 ish) but the portions are quite large. They do have a kids menu as well as a full bar. Customer service was excellent, with a seemingly genuinely friendly server. Though they were busy, it was easy to get assistance as needed. The decor is wonderfully charming. Overall, Screen Door might not be an every-weekend kind of thing, but for an out-of-town visitor, a special occasion, or craving you just can't shake - it's absolutely worth the stop.

However, now that I've been a few times, I notice little details like "why do the hostesses continue to seat people right next to each other?". There are plenty of other open tables that people could be seated at, but it really eliminated our ability to have a connecting conversation, as it felt like we were a party of 6 with us 2 in the middle!!! And 2 of the people clearly had some personal "issues" going on and were very disruptive. The space is small, but the visual displays of all the artwork make it a talking point conversation. The main artist was on hand & we found ourselves with the opportunity to talk with him while we waited on our food (which took a lot longer than expected). Funny, we ordered 1st & ours came out 10 mins later after everyone else. I decided to go with the Chicken and Waffles, and we also had the shrimp and grits. The food hit on all cylinders, and the only thing that was needed next was to make a move for a cocktail and a little walking in downtown to change it up. Will definitely return, but I will be more direct and vocal about seating that's for sure.
