My car died a few doors down from Batteries Plus Bulbs' Alexandria store. I didn't even know they sold car batteries! Even though I got there just before closing Jeremy and Paris took great care of me. I was able to get a new, fully charged battery which included free installation. I would definitely recommend this store. Very poor. I bought a car battery there and the two 20 yr old kids could not even figure out how to get my old one out. I had to pay my mechanic to install their battery which said free install then they never even offered to waive the battery core charge unless I went back with my old battery. What a waste of time and money. No pro install here. Stay away if you want a car battery installed. read more

I had the screen replaced on my iphone 7+ and when I picked up my phone the "Hey Siri" ( you can access Siri without pressing any buttons) feature stopped working. I never had a problem with that feature before. I have had the screen replaced once already and the "Hey Siri" feature was fully operational. It was even fully operational when the screen was cracked. It makes no sense that replacing the screen would affect how Siri operated, however it seems odd that it stopped working after I had it repaired at Battery Plus. I didn't want to create scene and tried to work with the store Manager (John). I'm not really upset at Battery Plus, however I am leery that they are qualified to work on the iphones. The staff was friendly and nice. But, in my opinion, they caused the Siri feature on my iphone to become faulty due to a bad repair job. The purpose of my review is to advise iphone owners to have their screens repaired by the Apple Store or an authorized Apple repair center. Otherwise you will have no recourse. I think Battery plus would be great for batteries, flashlights, etc, but after my experience, there is no way in hell would I bring my future iphones in for any type of repair by them. read more

I seem to go through motorcycle batteries at a rapid rate. When i am ready to throw money at a new battery, each and every time, they run a diagnostics check first. On at least two occasions, i have been able to salvage the battery without buying a new one. Staff is helpful, knowledgeable and professional. This store is my go-to. read more

(would give zero stars if possible) I returned to this story within a week of the warranty expiration because the battery I had purchased would not start my motorcycle. There were no other customers in the store and I was NOT greeted upon entry. I asked the employee if my battery was under warranty. After checking on the computer the employee determined that it was. The employee, pulled out a multimeter, checked the battery, looked me in the eye and said the battery was dead and I should have maintained it. He asked if I had left it in the motorcycle, I said I had for a month and then I removed it. He said, "No you couldn't have." Basically, accusing me of lying to him. He offered no recommendations, nor did he offer to charge the batter and recheck it. He was abrupt and rude in his attitude toward me. I told him I thought it was under a one year warranty, he pointed to a pad of warranty protection information flyers, which I had to peel off as he stood in a defensive position and stared at me. After leaving, I called the customer service number and the woman I spoke to assured me that someone would speak to the store's owner and that he would get back to me. He never did. I took the battery to Advanced Auto the same day and they charged and tested it for free. I would NOT recommend this store based upon the offensive customer service I received. The wording of their warranty policy puts them in a position to make a judgement call as to who they will or will not service. read more

I went to Staples, then Best Buy, and finally Amazon to find a battery for our cordless phone at the office. The Amazon battery didn't fit right when it arrived. Someone mentioned Batteries plus. I went and the owner instantly found the correct battery for our office phone. He was incredibly friendly and I spent a long time afterwards talking to him about light bulbs and the changes going on between incandescent vs LED bulbs etc. He was completely knowledgeable, professional, made great suggestions for slowly switching over and even told me about an upcoming bulb sale in August. I could tell he took great pride in offering great service to his customers. I will definitely be back for bulbs and batteries at the Bradley location in Alexandria read more

Caveat Emptor: Please do not go to Batteries Plus Bulbs in the Bradlee Shopping Center to have a watch battery replaced. Last evening the store clerk broke the stem of my nice watch while replacing the battery. I took the watch to a jewelry store today and it will set me back $75 to have the stem replaced. The clerk at the jeweler (B and C) in the same shopping center said they get a lot of customers for watch repairs after Batteries Plus damages the watch while replacing the battery. My car battery died in this frigid cold weather earlier this week - which also happened to be over the holiday. I had used this location months again to fix my son's iPhone - something they did at mock speed and still works just fine today. I recalled that they also had car batteries, so I searched on-line and easily found that they had what I needed in stock. I ordered it for pick-up that evening. It was ready to go when I arrived, check out was quick and they even installed it and tested it at no additional fee. My car was brought back to life - it was a Christmas miracle and I am so grateful for the amazing customer service and kindness the staff offered me. After two incredibly positive experiences, I would highly recommend anyone to patron this location - they are stellar and you will NOT be disappointed. read more

Excellent service. I wanted an external battery for my iPhone 6 and the gentleman working there walked me through the options and didn't try to push a more expensive size that didn't match my needs. I had a large flashlight that wasn't working, so I bought replacement batteries online, but that didn't fix the problem. Not knowing what to do next other than shell out $50 for another flashlight, I went to Batteries Plus Bulbs in the Bradlee Shopping Center to see if they could help. They tested the batteries (new & old were fine), the charger (fine), the bulb (fine). They determined the problem to be the switch...the only part they don't provide at the store. However, they said to come back with a switch and they'd rewire & solder it in for me. They did and it works good as new! Did I mention the price....free. Hours were spent helping me out and the customer service was great. read more

He helped me with 6 different type of bulbs I needed then when I bought 2 lanterns he opened them up and put the batteries in for me before I left. He also asked my 5 year old son to help him so he could learn how to do it since it was his lantern. I was in need of a battery for my cell phone and unsuccessfully tried my cell phone service carrier. Batteries Plus was among the places I found in this area through my search engine which carried cell phone batteries. i emailed the store to find if they had the particular battery I needed, and I received a response back almost immediately. Not only did they have the battery I needed, they held it for me until I was able to make it over. As soon as I walked into the store and mentioned the battery, they remembered me by name. They are knowledgeable about their products, service is great, and they have a good selection of other accessories, including light bulbs and items which would be handy to have around the house. In this day and age with all the electronic items we all have, this store plays an integral part in keeping these things running. I will definitely be back! read more

The sales person installed it for me quickly, tested the alternator, helped me adjust my hood grill in a flash, gave me a rebate mail-in form. I am sorry to say that today I have had the most frustrating experience of my life at this store. I called early and dropped off my iPhone and iPad having been told that all necessary parts were available. Upon arriving, I was told that the iPhone part you had was defective and I should arrive later in the day to get the phone screen fixed and pick up the iPad. Together we tested both to ensure all functionality. I did not receive a return call but rather phoned at 5:30 and was told that the part had arrived. I drove in heavy traffic and arrived at your store and was told to wait yet another hour. At the end of the hour the iPad came out and the workmanship was so bad that I was told to come in tomorrow and wait AGAIN because the home button is somehow shoved into the unit now and there was no one to fix it. Your team broke my iPhone. It displays large vertical lines, static, I cannot login, I cannot do anything on it. I am a small business owner who relies on his phone for everything - in fact, I was in the middle of a sales call when I was unable to proceed because I could not enter my password. When I called in, I was told that your staff would not allow me to speak with you. I was told that I would somehow need to get to your store at 8 AM tomorrow morning in order to rectify this and that rather than having the unit replaced which is "A long process" according to your staff, I would have to go through more replacements meaning waiting MANY MORE HOURS. In fact, I have no GPS anymore because your team did not fix my phone or tablet. This means I now have to spend even more of my money to take a taxi to your location. This is absolutely unacceptable and inappropriate for any business. I have no way to even take a call from you if I wanted to now. read more

I attempted to purchase a replacement laptop battery but was told by a disrespectful sales person that they did not have the battery in stock. He said it could be ordered for a price of $149.95 with a seven day delivery estimate. This was ridiculous. .Later that afternoon I found the identical new battery online for $15.00 with only a two day ship time. I will be shopping online from now on. read more

Their car battery service is terrific. I had purchased the replacement in advance online, and just showed up at the Bradlee store on a Saturday morning at 10 a.m. I figured that would be a busy time when they would be hard-pressed for that quick service they advertise to install a car battery. Well, they weren't terribly busy and an employee who was free greeted me when I entered. He leafed through a few paid-in-advance orders on the desk, found my paperwork immediately, and I was finished and at the Starbucks a few doors down by 10:15. Good brand-name battery, car now starts like a champ, and I am a delighted. I wondered about this, and for the benefit of others, where they installed mine: they carried the battery out to where I was parked in the parking lot, worked under the hood there, and did the swap of old-for-new right in the parking space. The technician asked me to start the car and make sure it was OK. It was all so simple and painless. There's really not much else to say except he was cordial and professional. P.S. - My wife was pleased too, picking up some LED lightbulbs, and she said it was the best price she'd seen. read more
