My computers have relied on APC brand UPSs for years. Generally they are great, except for replacing the lead-acid batteries. I went to BatteriesPlus hoping to replace the battery for a 10 year old unit. I really dislike shipping these heavy batteries in the mail. APC would only offer me an upgrade discount (to a bigger unit I did not need), but these guys spent the time to remove a wedged-in battery (sealed lead-acid batteries can expand when they near end-of-life) and then only charged me for the replacement battery, but they spent almost an hour in labor just to help me out! Forget the saved cost of the upgrade, the time savings alone were fantastic. I'm back online in less than 2 hours! The service is something any customer has to love. I've shipped my last lead-acid battery. These guys are fantastic. read more

You need to turn in your own old battery which isn't disclosed in the original purchase. You have to go home and install the new battery and make another trip to the store or you have to pad additional $16+ before you leave, or you pay ~$20 for them to replace it at store. read more

First time at Batteries Plus Bulbs and it was a fine experience. I took my iPhone 6s in to have the battery replaced. I know I could have gone to Apple but there is always a crowd there. So I made my appointment. Dropped off my phone, had the battery replaced, purchased a new case and protector for the screen. Went to have coffee and 30 minutes later my phone was ready. They put it all together even added the magnet that I use for the phone in the car. The service was excellent. And I figured as long as I was there maybe they could replace my watch battery. They did that too! The gentleman who handled this transaction took alot of care making sure my phone and watch were perfect when I returned. I have shopped with Batteries Plus for several years since they first opened. They were never the best priced, but still purchased from them anyway as they were a new local business and are close by. I have spent 3k plus in this store and was alway promised good warranties and service by the owner Neil. The first time I bring back a dead battery I got the run around and was accused of not taking care of the battery witch was not true as all my batteries have battery tenders on them. I was very surprised when they turned me down with attitude and sarcasm, there low life low class employee or manager went as far as kicking the battery at me. I trusted these guys, referred friend's to them and paid more for batteries then I should have. I will never shop there again and would suggest anyone looking for batteries look else were for batteries, because they are con-artist, liars and BS used care sales people. read more

These guys are awesome! I came here to have my car's battery replaced. They sold me a good quality battery at a fair price, and they installed it for me. A few days later the battery in my sister's car went out. We went back to this place and she was also able to get a good quality battery at a fair price. I'd also like to add that they efficiently installed her battery despite the intense heat outside (there was a heat wave at the time). These employees are hard-working, pay close attention to detail, and really know their stuff. My sister and I both initially had "Interstate" batteries, which aren't as high quality as the batteries we got from Batteries Plus Bulbs. Neither of us have had car battery problems since. I recommend this place, and I would definitely go back again! read more

My car battery suddenly died and I needed a quick replacement so I did a search and found this store. They had my size battery in stock so I ordered one online. My experience would have been 5 stars but their website let me down for two reasons. First it boldly states "Free installation in 20 minutes or less. No appointment needed." When I get there the salesman asked if I wanted it installed. I said sure isn't it free? He said only at participating stores and this was not one of them. So it will be $20 to have it installed. I asked if they had tools to borrow so I could install it myself. They said yes and brought me the tools. No where on the website does it state which stores will install for free and what the charge is if it's not free. My second issue is the site says I will get 10% off if I order online and pick up at the store. The site did not accept the promotion code and charged me full price. When I told the salesman about this he said he's sorry about that and that it's too bad since they already charged my credit card. I think something could have been done to get my discount. My windows phone indicated that the battery was critically low despite having been connected for recharge for several hours. I went to Battery Plus to buy a new battery. The salesman removed and tested my battery - it was fully charged despite the message. He tried a new battery in my phone and then reinserted my old battery. The critically low message was gone. I appreciate that, rather than just sell me something, which he could have done, he actually made sure I needed it. I will be going back to Batteries Plus in the future and, by the way, the store carries a lot more than batteries. read more

My daughter and I brought my battery in from my mobility scooter to replace, in its case. Tyler removed the batteries from the case. It took awhile to do this as it was not an easy job. He stayed with it until it was done. I was not charged for this work. They are very friendly and very knowledgeable. Bought a battery in May. In early July, the battery died when I left the car in a shop for a week. Talked to sale person in Batteries&Bulbs, the "expert" told me the battery may not be full charged. So they sold me a charger. The end of July, I have a business trip. I knew the battery may have problems. So I told my wife to drive the car a few times when I am not at home. The first time, it is OK. The second time, she cannot start the car. After I came back, I tried to charge the battery with the charger. It does not work. The charger cannot charge the battery. Bring them back to Batteries&Bulbs. The "expert" told me, since I did not care the battery properly (without drive the car every day), the battery is totally dead. For this kind of the problem, warranty does not cover. They also told me all batteries work like that. I told them I have the car for almost 10 years, I never had this kind of problem. They started to tell me the battery I bought is "great battery", not "the best battery". So if I do not drive the car every day, the battery will die permanently. I do not want to suggest anything, just tell you my experience to use their battery. read more

The BatteriesPlus website states that local stores accept old bulbs (and batteries) for recycling as part of their environmental commitment. When I showed up with my box of old bulbs (about 2 dozen as I am replacing all bulbs in the house with LEDs over time), I got a rude awakening. The clerk told me rudely that they are a business, and will have to charge me for recycling. When I pointed out what the website stated, he said that its their company policy to accept no more than 5 bulbs per person. Went back to the website and indeed if you look in the fine print of the FAQ page (not the recycling page!), it states that they perform limited recycling (no specifics). Did I mention the clerk refused to identify himself? Company policy is no excuse for bad manners. And this franchise would be well advised to be transparent instead of claiming some wonderful community service when there is very little. read more

Unique is my first thought but hey they had the battery i needed at a reasonable price. Motorcycle batteries are notoriously expensive but they had a replacement one that fit my needs and even stayed a few minuets late to allow my wife to pick one up while i was stranded at work with no way to do so myself. Their core charge isnt outrageous like some other places either. I will be keeping them in mind when I need anything battery related in the future. read more

Came across Batteries Plus Bulbs when I was looking for a local shop that could replace my dead 2007 Honda Pilot fob. I called and they confirmed they had a replacement in stock if needed but would check my fob to see if it was repairable first. Art was awesome. He ran through the diagnostics, then took the steps to try reprogram my fob in case the programming had been lost. Unfortunately the module didn't respond (it's a 12 yr old fob so not a huge surprise) but the fact that he tried everything he could to get that original fob to work was true customer care and service. Once we determined there was no easy way to resuscitate the old fob, he was able to get me set up with the new programmed fob in about 20 minutes. The only reason for 4 stars was it would have been nice to have a seating area available while waiting for the work to be done. Pricing was very reasonable in comparison to Honda (just blocks away) who came in at more than double the cost here. Within the hour I got a call (not an email) from a guy saying that the battery I'd ordered wasn't in stock but they had an alternate that was also cheaper. My daughter came home from college last X'mas with her laptop not holding charge anymore and told me only a day before she left. Since she will be going back (out of the country) the next day, time is not on my side to order online. I checked the internet for any local battery store, I saw one ebay seller from San Jose but don't accept local pick-up. Surfing further, Batteries Plus pop up, called them and gave them the part no. of my daughter's laptop battery and I was told it is available. So I went to their place and the salesman was very helpful. He installed a new battery and asked me if I have the charger and luckily I had it but left it in my car. I took the charger and he tried to charge the new battery to make sure everything works. New battery was not charging, he installed another one, same thing. He tried with another charger and battery was charging. It turned out charger was bad too. He tried to charge the old battery but it was really dead. I ended up buying battery and charger which was way cheaper than if I bought it from the OEM dealers online. More important, my daughter had her laptop working when she left for college. Just one more verysatisfied customer and I highly recommend this place if you need any kind of battery. read more
