They were great at replacing the rechargeable NiCd batteries in our expensive Oster fur clipper (veterinary use). They have single AA NiCd batteries in stock, so they took two of them, assembled them into a module, transferred the original connector to the new module, installed the new module in the Oster clipper, and charged it up. All for only $15 out the door. I was also impressed with their knowledge about newer battery technology and their stock of batteries. This is the first place to go! read more

I suspect that these guys are alright overall, but my experience has been a bit frustrating. I drove from South San Jose to get a specific camera battery. Took the battery - a branded Kodak product - but did not take the camera itself. I was sold a replacement battery - not Kodak, but a brand name. Didn't charge it for several weeks, then found that it was too big to fit the camera. I phoned the store and was told that they have a 14 day return policy. After a bit of hassle, they agreed to give me store credit....if I would drive there again to return the original battery. I did so, only to find that the battery I needed was not in stock. Took the store credit - around $35.00 - and waited well over two weeks before being called about the replacement being in stock. (Unfortunately, I do NOT have a 14 day exchange policy.) Drove to the store again and was given an off-brand battery in exchange for my store credit. When I tried to charge it - on a charger I purchased at Batteries Plus - it would not take/hold a charge, and I suspect that it was one of the knock-off batteries available over the internet for less than $10.00. At that point, I packaged up the battery and all of the paperwork I had accrued and mailed the whole mess back to the store. Received a call telling me that the battery charged up fine there and that I as basing my "prejudice" about the knock-off based on an internet photo. Not so, as I've had problems with these low-priced items in the past. I told them to keep the battery, keep the paperwork and keep the credit. That I would "eat" the $35.00 and write it off to a bad experience. Then came the offer to credit my Visa card.....if I would bring it to the store - again. When I again suggested that I was done with the whole mess, they asked if a check mailed to me would be satisfactory. No problem with that, so we'll see when and if the check arrives. I hope this was just one of those fiascoes, but I'm back to ordering electronics on-line. The problem was resolved, but I probably spent more on time and gasoline that the cost of the battery Hint: Next time, bring the camera, too. read more

I love that this is a "one stop battery shop." I used to be a regular customer at this store as I have 7 vehicles, a boat and 3 jet skis, definitely never again after this experience. Purchased a new battery online this past September for one of my vehicles with the receipt stating "Full Warranty until 9/13/2023". Had my car parked for a week and went to drive it yesterday and it wouldn't start. Put a charger on it and had no life. Removed the battery and brought my receipt with me to get my warranty replacement as any other store would honor. But NOT Batteries Plus! They told me my batteries warranty is VOID because "I didn't properly maintain it??!!" What a joke. The clown that worked at the store said he was new and didn't even know the owner's phone number to reach him. Tried showing me some warranty card that was never shown or given to me when I purchased the battery in the first place. Don't trust these shady places that try to make you feel like you have coverage because when the time comes they will deny you. Call AAA and they will take care of you no questions asked. Over the years I have spent thousands at this store and have referred many people in the past. I will not spend 1 more cent here and will make sure to advise anyone else I know looking to replace a battery to avoid this company going forward. Ended up contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge to get my refund and take my business elsewhere! Buyer beware if you shop here. read more

This place is great! We parked in the back and came in through the back entrance. I was helped right away when we walked in. The employees were all pretty knowledgeable and seem to know and be familiar with all things battery and bulb related. I was there to get a new battery for my child's ride on train toy. The manufacturer said that it was $40 for a new battery and had suggested Batteries plus when I asked if there was a place to get it locally. The employee tested the battery and confirmed we needed a new battery. He showed me the manufacturer battery but since I had an older model with a different connecter, he retrieved a different battery and said they can use the same connector. My final cost was half the manufacturer's cost, and we were able to walk out with the battery installed in about 10 minutes. Major score! It is such a relief to have them take care of it - connectors and all. They even helped me carry it to the car! The trip here saved me time and money! I would go here again because they have all types of batteries that you may need and the people here are super helpful. I hate going to several different stores being unable to find a specific battery. They recycle -I was also able to unload the dead batteries and bulbs that have been accumulating! read more

Very Arrogant behavior - had a terrible experience today. Had got my car key battery replaced with new 3 week ago, which got bad in just 3 weeks. I visited them today and Danny was the rep attended me. Very rude to a customer and after some discussions he charged for the new battery and $5 extra just for talking to me as his time spend talking to me. As a customer I went to resolve my issue and had to pay to talk to the guy - that's really absurd. I am not going to this place anymore. I went to Batteries and Bulbs with my 11-year old son around 6:45pm on a Saturday night. When we walked in the whole store absolutely stunk of pot. A few minutes later two completely stoned employees came out from the back. It was like they were moving in slow motion. I asked for help finding the bulbs we needed. It turned out the bulbs I needed were out of stock. I was actually happy about that because I couldn't get out of their fast enough. I didn't feel comfortable to be there with my son and two large, stoned guys by myself. I will never go back there. I would rather order the bulbs online before giving that store anymore of my business. read more

Great service! My car battery died and I needed help. My car wouldn't start at ALL, even with a jump start. The store manager needed me to leave the car with him for a few hours so he could test the battery. The manager drove me home (I only live 5 minutes away) and called me when my car was ready. He was super friendly and helpful. I was so happy that he offered a ride home... otherwise I would be stuck at the shop for a few hours. My old battery was recycled and the replacement battery was installed at a great price. Every step along the way was explained in detail. It's always a pleasure to be able to write a positive review of a business. Batteries+Bulbs Store #475 on Stevens Creek in San Jose, CA is a business that deserves our support. Recently my vehicle battery finally died, quietly in the driveway, and on a weekend. It was old and had lived a very long and useful life. But it had suffered the usual abuse over the years and clearly was not going to be resuscitated to last any longer. After searching the internet for battery sources open on a weekend and able to do an installation correctly without losing all the settings, I decided on Batteries+Bulbs. I had used the store before with good results for computer and phone batteries. A quick phone conversation confirmed availability of two different batteries and time to install that afternoon. Jeff was our battery tech, knowledgeable and with a good attitude. We discussed both battery types, the standard wet type I had used for decades and the newer AGM type. The AGM was significantly more expensive. but Jeff didn't try to push it on me. I recently bought the vehicle used just before Covid, and it has a lot of newer tech with more than a few options that all use power, and there are potentially more demands for energy. I decided to go with the AGM. After talking about rebates and discounts, we completed the transaction, and he did a professional installation of the new battery. Highly recommend this store and the staff who run it. If it were a restaurant, it would deserve the highest three-star Michelin rating. Check it out if you need any kind of battery. read more

Bought a spare battery here some time ago for a cell phone that later got stolen, so I had an unused battery I couldn't use. Tyler G was very helpful and accommodating, and exchanged the battery, at no charge, for a new one that would work with my wife's phone. First-rate customer service. I ended up buying some 2032 coin batteries for my remote slide changer, which cost me only $1 each (compared to $4 or more at grocery and drug stores). Not the place that came to mind when I needed a new battery for my car but I am glad I went there. Great help from Tyler. Super knowledgeable about all things batteries. He even gave me the pros and cons between the choices of batteries for my car. Needed a replacement battery to replace the dying battery in my 2003 BMW 530i. Online Internet search at BimmerForum provided a Rayovac as the OEM battery with the proper folding lift handles and gas vent tube. BatteriesPlus listed as a supplier and called the local store and spoke with Neill. Very informative and bought an OEM battery while saving $40 over the BMW branded battery with the installation done on site with the installer using the proper 'hold up battery' procedure to ensure the computer info & radio code was not lost. In & out within an hour with the right battery that fits properly and connects to the gas vent tube & OEM battery hold downs. I had a hard time finding a particular deep cycle marine battery for my boat. I was pleasantly surprised to find that these guys were open on a Saturday until 7:00 PM so I went there to check it out. They have an excellent selection of batteries for my purposes and they spent time educating me about the difference between them, the different charging options, and demonstrated everything that I needed to know. I decided to bring my wife and I's iPhone 5's for device repair when I saw online that they offered the service. It just made sense to upgrade the batteries and fix the cracked screen to prolong the life of our older but functional phones. I called ahead to verify that they had the parts in store and showed up for my appointment. Jeff, the store manager, was courteous, friendly, and professional. He completed the upgrades pretty quickly for me while I hung out at the store and in the neighborhood. My wife and I are both very happy with the upgrades on our iPhones with new batteries and screens. The upgrade costs were far more economical than purchasing the new model phones. My 2004 BMW 545i in need of a battery replacement, so I google and find Batteries Plus. Only other place is the dealer. This place is amazing, all types of batteries for cell phones, laptops, and even for cars. The owner Neil and his staff Jeff were very friendly. At first, I was apprehensive about letting them work on my car, but I did see couple of old BMW batteries in their shop. I guess they have done it before. Since I know my way around cars, so I thought I could keep an eye on it. This is not a full service place for car battery replacement obviously, but the price is good for DIY. Overall, Jeff was good (it was only $19.99, so I let them do it) but he try to put the negative terminal on first before the positive. I reminded him that was the wrong order and could damage the car electronic if he accidentally touch the chassis. Took a star off. Overall, I would recommended this place. I saved about $150 to $180 compare to dealer. But dealer would probably would do a overall check on the charging system. read more
