My kid has one of those ride on toy Ducati motorcycles. I needed to replace the battery to get him riding again. Using the info from the manual, I ordered a battery from the manufacturer (Peg Perego), but the one they sent me did not match in size or model number to the one I was replacing. Eager to get this battery installed and this off my to-do list, I placed a call to their customer service but they weren't available (East Coast, office was closed) so I called BPB, got Kiel on the phone. Kiel (sorry if I'm not spelling your name correctly), was exceptional. He looked up the battery I was sent, along with the one I was replacing, confirmed the new one was an acceptable replacement - explained the difference to me, and answered all my questions. Kiel was patient and extremely helpful. Outstanding customer service, K - and for a product I didn't even buy from them!!! THANK YOU! I regret not buying the battery from BPB - I didn't think they would carry it, but in fact they do and had several in stock - I wouldn't have had to wait a week plus to get it from the manufacturer. Real good + Real bad = 3 Location, Stevens Creek Blvd Manager, Freddie Bly First the good: They were able to find a battery for my older Galaxy S7 and replace it. Service took about 40 minutes. The bad: I had to wait a week for the battery to get to the store. So I was kind of tied to a power outlet for a week while it came in. Not a disaster, but not very convenient in these days when we overnight everything. Bad, part II: a week later, my Granddaughter's phone battery died, and so I went over to the Batteries + Bulbs store to see about getting one. This is where it gets interesting. Their computer said they had 1 in stock. So an employee went around looking for it, but came up empty. Since my grand-daughter is disabled and in a power chair. She depends heavily on her phone to arrange her VTA rides and everything else in her life, including a 13 year old son. So I asked for a little more thorough search. Eventually all 4 employees including the boss were searching for the "1 in stock". No luck. So I say "please order one". So the manager says OK, it should be here Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. So I call on Wednesday. Nope. I call on Thursday and the employee says "no way, you ordered on Sunday, so you have to wait until NEXT Thursday". "I'll be happy to cancel that order for you". ARRRRRGH!! Don't promise what you can't deliver! I understand that Lithium Ion batteries cannot be shipped by air, and are therefore a little more lead time is required, however this is 2023 my friends and so if you want to be the premier Battery shop in town, you need to up your game and keep a few more of the old or unusual batteries in stock. Amazon will eat your lunch otherwise. Oh, BTW, I found the right battery on Amazon with a 2 day delivery. Problem solved. read more

I bought a Duracell car battery at Batteriesplus 12/2021. After 6 month of use, the battery capacity has reduced to the point of it no longer functioning correctly. (I did unplug the battery and tested under a simulated continuous ECU load of 15mA - loss of capacity is 25% over 24h. Generally this would take weeks). Contacting Batteriesplus for a warranty claim; they require the car to be left there for 1..2 days for them to test the battery (but naturally, one needs the car to drive to work). Additionally, they would charge an installation fee for selling me broken battery :). My advice - their "warranty procedures" are non-practical, while it seems poor business practice that a customer would need to pay for replacing their faulty part. I went to Napa Autoparts and everything has been resolved within minutes, including a battery test that corroborated the faulty battery. read more

Not an option when I don't live in San Jose anymore. This store did not help honor warranty with this tactic. I was yelled at by him because I didn't have an "order" number that was never given to me by the other employees at Batteries + Bulbs. What ever happened to the customer is always right? I placed an order through the BatteriesPlus web site for in-store pick-up because a discount was offered and there was no shipping charge. The batteries I ordered were Duracell Quantum 9V batteries. Duracell states that these batteries have a 10-year shelf storage life. I ordered a box of a dozen batteries because I needed five and figured I'd have the others as spares over the coming years. When I got home and opened the box I found that the freshness date on the batteries was 2020--exactly the same as the batteries I was replacing which were several years old. So instead of getting batteries with a 10-year shelf life, I got batteries with a 23-month shelf life...20% of the shelf life but not at a 80% discount. I won't make a mistake buying from batteriesplus.com or this store again. I could have taken my changes with Amazon 3rd party sellers and done at least as well. read more

1 star is given only for their location. These guys don't know what they doing. I came there because I needed to get my new car key cut and buy batteries for it. Cashier said that keycutting is $45 and it will take up to 40 minutes, he warned that if the key isn't programmed I can't start my car. That was okay because I was about to do it myself. 10 minutes later he gave my key with a sloppy cut and I couldn't even put the key in a lock. I came back and asked for a full refund of the service and been told that there are always risks with these type of keys (it wasn't mentioned before he started cutting it) and he can refund me $20. Basically, I lost $45 paying for this service and he ruined my key which I bought for $25. I declined his offer. Horrible service. I would never recommend this particular business as well as the network. If you guys make mistakes that's okay but not on the expense of your customers. read more

The battery looked new on the outside so we wanted a second opinion before we went ahead with replacing it. Looking at the amazing reviews online, we decided to come here for a second opinion and buy the new battery. The battery prices here are a lot cheaper than what the service center quoted. Installation is free of charge too! Make sure to buy ahead online with in-store pickup/installation for discount deals. Damien tested our battery free of charge and confirmed the battery was new and didn't need to be replaced. He helped cancel our online order too! I do not normally leave reviews, but this store did a such a good job taking care of me I had to. I was in Santa Clara on a business trip, when my cell phone (Note 5) battery started to act like it wanted to explode. After a quick search and phone call they had me on the scheduled that day. Now this is not my fist time getting a new battery for my phone, or my fist time using Batteries Plus but it was by far the best experience I have had with either. They had my phone fixed in 30 min, and it was for a reasonable price. Being from out of town and being 100% relent on having a working phone they could have gouged me well over $100, but instead they gave me a fair price and I walked out of there with a like new phone for $60. WHAT A RIP OFF!!! TERRIBLE! A year ago they did a HARD sell on me to buy a very expensive deep cycle battery for our second car. We only use it a few of times a month, and they said the deep cycle was perfect, and it would easily handle only being started once or twice a month. When we recently went to start it after a week, it wouldn't start. We tried to charge it and it wouldn't charge. The guy was horribly rude and told me that there wouldn't be any prorated warranty because I didn't start it more than once a week, which would mean neglect!! They were the ones that said that starting it every two weeks or less was fine, and now they are trying to tell me that it is my neglect. I told them that I only paid for the expensive battery because they said it would be perfect for me, so they shouldn't told me that just to get me to buy the much more expensive battery. Then he started SCREAMING at me that they did not say that, and that it was my neglect! WHAT A HORRIBLE PLACE. PUSH YOU INTO A HIGH PRICED BATTERY WITH FALSE PROMISES, THEN NOT WARRANTY IT! read more

I DO NOT recommend this place as they do not practice fair business practices nor I will ever want to visit this place again! Bought two rechargeable batteries '18650' for $30 which did not fit my SMOK device. After speaking over the phone to Joe, I drive back all the way there literally 20 minutes later to be told that they will not return the batteries as they were already opened!!! Seriously dude? How do you want someone without battery 'regulation' knowledge to normally to know that the same exact batteries do not fit certain devices?? When my iphones break, I come to Freddie. He could reverse engineer a spaceship. He always has me in and out in about 20 minutes. Freddie has piercing blue eyes, is whip smart and ethical. He is grace under pressure throughout this pando even though he has a line out the door of scared senior citizens--he just has a way of blinking like, "I got you." This is a long overdue review for a really good company staffed by wonderful people. I went to Batteries Plus Bulbs in September of 2020 to replace the battery in my 2012 Miata. The price was very good and they installed it for no extra charge. Fast forward to today - I haven't driven the car in several weeks and the battery was dead. Jumped it, drove it around for 1/2 hour, then into the parking lot behind the Batteries Plus Bulbs location "just in case". Turned it off, then tried to start it again and it wouldn't turn over. I walked in, explained the situation, and Sam came out to the car to see what was up. The voltage was low, so he started the warranty replacement process. He put a loaner battery in my car so I could use it, and they're keeping the dead battery overnight to charge & test. Either they'll get it to hold a charge or it will be replaced at no cost. They'll call me tomorrow to either put a new battery into the car or the old one with a full charge. I can't ask for better than this. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place! I came in to get my BMW battery replaced and the service was quick and friendly! I wish I remembered the name of the guy who helped me! He tested my old battery and told me it still works and I don't need to replace it if I don't want to. I bought a new battery and he was super quick with installation and gave me the name of a shop to take it to to help reprogram the battery. This place is awesome! They have great deals on batteries in terms of discounts as well as manufacturer rebates! They carry Duracell batteries that are pretty much top of the line and more supreme than Optima batteries which have moved their production to Mexico which unfortunately they have lost quality to that product. Duracell is now manufactured by East Penn. All customer service representative I interacted with were for polite, helpful, and informative. The service was quick and the online order process was simple. However, I feel like I have been cheated on by this shop. When I ordered a battery and paid online I was told that the installation will be free, otherwise I would have chosen another shop. After that (after I already had paid for my order!) I got a phone call from the shop saying that they will additionally charge me extra $22 for the installation but $20 of these can be covered by my old battery that they will collect from me. This was disappointing. But what was even more disappointing is that when I came to the shop to get my ordered battery installed, they both collected my old battery and charged an extra $24 for the installation, so first they lied on their website, and then they lied again by phone. I believe this is inappropriate and possibly illegal. read more

I went in to drop off batteries for recycling and remembered I needed a replacement bulb for my license plate light. The clerk, Jesse, offered to go to my truck to see what bulb I needed. He found the gasket for the fixture needed fixing, so he offered to glue it with special glue. Not only that, he replaced the bulb and glued the gasket for the other side too. There's plenty of reserved parking for customers behind the store. Walked in, and gave the model number of my phone to one of the guys at the front counter. Less than a minute later he handed me a Duracell Ultra Battery ($39.99) that's manufactured by Ascent Batteries in China with a lifetime replacement warranty. The battery works as well as my original one did when it was new. 10% discount if you order online and pick up in the store. First - I have had great service and batteries purchased at Batteries + Bulbs for almost 10 years. My recent purchase this week has pretty much changed my outlook and would hesitate shopping there again. Battery went dead during last month of warranty. Charged overnight in the car, started up once next morning, but after one start was dead again . Repeated process again with battery out of car, same result of dead battery after one start. 1- Store did not contact me with an update on warranty check of old battery. Took almost 5 minutes to even find my paperwork with test results - was there even a report I ask? Rep claimed battery tested okay - but when I asked that it died twice in my car after charging, and the new battery is aok in my car so it was not the car's charging system could he provide an explanation? He confirmed made no sense to him but he could do absolutely nothing on my warranty claim. He also sole me a battery last week with incorrect date listed on warranty sticker 2- Develop a better warranty response versus it does not make sense to me 3 - Selling product with incorrect warranty periods listed. So my recommendation is to stay away from this store and only use in an emergency. read more

This place is almost too good to be believed. I thought I wrote a review ~3 years ago but apparently didn't. In 2014, I had to take my car in to get the battery replaced. Unfortunately, I had parked it on the road and it wouldn't restart. They said 'No problem!', grabbed their jump back, got it started and I drove it to the nice, large parking spots in back. They analyzed the current battery to make sure it was the problem before selling me a new one. They swapped the battery, being careful with my car, made sure it was completely set before calling it a success. I drove the car for ~1.5 more years until I sold it, was perfect all the while Now in 2017 I came back with a 2 year old Audi S3. They were not bothered that it's not too common of a car, figured out the right battery, checked my current one .... and saw it was way too dead for it to be the battery and correctly identified it as a parasitic drain. Swapping the battery would fix the problem for a while, but I'd be back in the same bad spot. Total charge? $0! I've sent friends here since 2014, and am glad I did =) THANKS, GUYS! read more

Needed a 6 volt batter for a old Honda motorcycle. Replace a old lead acid battery with a seal agm cell 6 volt and it works great. It's smaller in dimensions so I had to use cardboard to pack around battery to make it secure in holder. Will replace with a dense foam later. Anyway picked up battery during Covid so was met at door by worker who was friendly and pleasant to deal with. Will definitely shop here again as overall experience was great read more

I ordered online a Duracell battery for my car with a 65 month warranty. Great deal and Jeff helped me today. He was great explained everything and changed to my new battery and on my way in 10 min. First time here to change my battery since Sears will probably not be here anymore when the warranty ends so no diehard for me this time. Online it says free installation but looking again it says for most cars if participating. I guess meaning they are franchise. So I guess this location did not participate and Jeff says there is a $20 charge for installation so the old battery $15 recycle refund took care of that and I paid the difference of $4.95. Definitely will recommend other people to come here to change your battery. read more

I started going this store since last year, because I live close and just for convenience that what I thought. But, I found batteries prices are lower than CVS or any other drug stores.
