I actually gave these guys a good quick tip at first... be careful about jumping to conclusions. Pre-emptive TLDR: the people that work here are slick enough to make you feel like you're making a good decision buying their cheap crap, then will screw you later on if they can. I actually went in to check on an "extended cell phone battery which has in no way extended the battery length of my car. They said they could do a test if I have the receipt, although I haven't found it so far (that's on me obviously). Pleased with the service, I bought a wall and phone charger for my G2. Both charged my phone only intermittently. The wall charger was not snug in my phone while the car charger was not snug in the car. I have a working wall and car charger (although the latter is fraying) so I knew it was neither my car, my wall, or my phone. Didn't realize the return period was a mere 14 days so I missed it. That part is also on me, although it also indicates a lack of faith in their products, which is apparently deserved. Went in for a warranty replacement, and the guy immediately tried to imply that something was wrong with my phone. However trying out the wall charger immediately proved I was right about that item and I got an exchange. Then, he got out some kind of device that supposedy simulated a car power socket and "proved" that there was nothing wrong with the car charger. I made it clear that I was not happy with this but he was supremely indifferent. So let me get this straight; I went in there and never tried to get a return, fully admitting it was past the return window. One of the products was clearly a piece of crap that never worked from the get-go, but apparently I am just lying about the other product? What would be the point, exactly? Do I have to drag this guy out to my car to prove it, and even then, will he just blame my car? This experience was infuriating. And he was very smug throughout. So now i have a wall charger I fully expect to stop working, sooner or later, and a car charger that never worked (it's not even well shaped, it takes up far more room than my working but fraying car charger). Seems like these guys prefer to play gotcha games on one-time customers instead of building customer loyalty; hope that works out for them... or not. read more

Went to store, Jeff got right to it, diagnosed my battery, found it to be bad, replaced my car battery all within 10 minutes, while answering all my questions. Great service. They did save me about $100.00 compared to buying new batteries, BUT when I dropped off my batteries I was told it was going to be done Monday, possibly Tuesday. I told them the sooner the better because I use them on a daily basis. I didn't get a call Monday or Tuesday . I showed up after I got off work and told them that I had batteries that should have been finished today and I didn't get a call. The guy checked on my order and it wasn't finished. I was super pissed and the reason they gave me was because they were remodeling, which they were, but that's no excuse for super crappy service!!! Don't give a promise time if you can't get it done in said time. When I called to find out if they were done and they told me that they were done, I told them that I would be on my way. When I arrived they were just finishing up. I actually had to wait about 5 minutes or so, which is not that big of a deal, but it amazed me that they lied to me. Their web site says they not only do batteries, but will also fix electronic devices, including cracked screens. So I drove over, and asked for an estimate to fix a cracked screen on my tablet. They said they don't do that. This is neither a good nor bad review. I am simply alerting people that the web site says they fix cracked screens, but they don't. Don't waste a drive. read more

GREAT Customer service! I needed replacement batteries for my electric tooth brush and originally purchased some that were slightly bigger in diameter. On my initial visit the staff at Batteries Plus had added soldering tabs per my request at no charge. I though that I was not going to be able to return them but was happy to find that they would take them back. I then purchased a four pack of standard AA size NiMH batteries and they added the soldering tabs for free. I was very pleased. This had been my first experience with Batteries Plus. The store is about 15 minutes from my home but was worth the drive. They had at least 4 employees in the store ready to assist customers. The store was clean and well organized. It was well stocked with walls and shelves of different batteries. The staff wore company shirts and appeared very professional. Parking behind the store with a back door entry was convenient. Their website is well organized. While in the store they were helping another gentleman with a watch battery replacement. They changed the battery and set the time for him at no additional cost. It is nice to go to a store where customer service is still important. I would highly recommend this store if you are shopping for batteries. Just don't take your wife along otherwise you will be stopping off at DSW very close by and buying a few hundred dollars of shoes! read more

I was referred here from the Radio Shack down the street when they didn't carry the particular battery for my son's RC Car. I've driven past here several times, but I had no idea how geeky-cool it was inside! They do have every kind of battery you can think of...and if they don't, they can MAKE it for you! How cool is that?! Anyways, I didn't need a new battery, just a charger. They unfortunately, didn't have the charger I needed was not in stock, and the nice girl who was helping me told me to try DJ Hobby who specializes in RC Cars. She went ahead and charged up my son's battery for FREE (normally $5.00) I really wanted to give them my business, so I bought a car remote battery replacement when I picked up the other battery. Just hours after writing my review for Batteries Plus, my friend said he needed to get 3 watch batteries replaced. We headed over to Batteries Plus but they were only able to replace 1 of the batteries. To be fair, one of the watches didn't have a replaceable battery (it recharges w/ light I guess?!?) and my friend didn't know that (and he's a watch enthusiast!). BP didn't know this either and it took them a while to open it up and try to find the battery. The 2nd watch they couldn't replace the battery on was because they couldn't pop off the flush cover. All this took about an hour, half of which time we were waiting around (and the other half was spent at DSW checking out shoes). If your watch is a bit on the expensive/exotic side, it might be best to go to a jeweler to get the battery replaced. read more

Straying away here from my usual restaurant reviews, I just happened upon this place by accident but also while in search of a special kind of battery. Considering the state of the economy and the fact that this place is a small business, I feel it is important to support small businesses of all shapes and form. So, moving along, I was on Stevens Creek Blvd in search of a special battery for my car security system. Not just any battery but a 12v, 23a to be precise. So, where does one find a special type of battery when one really needs to find one? Hey, maybe that watch store would have one, nope, but they could order it for you for a mere $10, sorry. Hey, how about the car alarm company next door, surely they would have one, nope. Ok, then how about the dealer down the street at the other end or a radio shack or longs/CVS? Well, as it turns out while driving down the the long and not so winding road, I see a sign that says, "Batteries Plus." Whoa, whip a fast u-turn and pull into the smallish lot behind the store, walk in, show the guy the battery and sure enough, "I do have one for you" and "It won't cost you 10 bucks." Nothing but batteries at this store and for a mere $2.50, I had my battery without looking any further. They have batteries galore, both big and small. If ever you need to find a battery for any or all your needs, please do visit this place. I phoned the store to see if they take old batteries and fluorescent tubes for recycling. They do and so I brought a bag of old AA, C, and D batteries and 4 old fluorescent tubes. They limit the old batteries to a small plastic bag and to 4 tubes. In return, I bought some batteries for my fob. They have a curbside window for transactions. Very friendly staff. read more

Went in to pickup battery for motorcycle. Really smooth process. Ordered online (easy to use website) then drove straight over and picked up battery and dropped off core. Battery was topped of and waiting for me less than hour after online purchase. While I was checking out the sales associate Khalil noticed my new car parked out front and asked how I liked it and I explained that I didn't because I believe it came with a bad battery. I was picking up motorcycle battery for backup transportation because I was about to drop off car at the dealer because of battery. Khalil offered to test the battery for me with their professional tester to confirm it was bad. This was really appreciated especially since he didn't need to offer knowing I was taking it to dealer (who did replace it) . Great store, website, and service. Came in for a battery on a 2009 Lexus IS 250. They took my $, made me wait 20 minutes before bringing the battery out. Tech started removing all kinds of covers on the drivers side before I showed it was clearly(uncovered) on the passenger side. 5 minutes later he tells me he can't do it! Another 10 minutes to get reimbursed. Very lame. This is not an exotic car. read more

All the guys except the owner were always great, helpful, courteous, and accommodating.  This final day after years of doing business I had one of the managers helping me troubleshoot something I was trying save by purchasing BP product.  The Owner ( what a Horses Ass)  started berating me and telling me to leave, we don't do that, he said ! You could have knocked me over with a feather, I've never been treated so poorly ! I was collecting the things I purchased and the items I was trouble shooting and I must have not been moving fast enough to suit him ( oh yeah I'm disabled) and he starts getting angry and unrelenting, embarrassing himself, me the Battery Plus name and his staff. He escalates treating me even more rudely & with disdain as he goes 0-100mph instantly escalating & berating me the whole way out the door. I was legally disabled and appalled that and OWNER would treat anyone, never mind a long-time customer who is disabled in such a way. If he worked for me he would be out looking for a new job.   As long as the ownership remains the same I will never set foot in that place again, it was so bad I considered contacting the authorities, but thought better of it and just moved on.    What a sad sad individual, and certainly not a champion of the Batteries Plus. I had a keyless fob remote for my Toyota programmed and key cut. The key was cut incorrectly. In order to fix this, they required ME to purchase another key. The replacement key should have been on them!! Why should I have to pay for the replacement when they messed up cutting the key?!! read more

Horrible guy belligerent and insulting "helped" me when I brought in a defective battery. I had called ahead of time to ensure it was still under warranty. Yes it was. But when I get there, a very smart ass employee now tells me that I have to leave it and come back in 24 hours. Say what? Wasn't told that on the phone. His reply? "Well we have to look at it, how do I know you didn't throw it off a cliff?" I said, does it look like it was thrown off a cliff? Other than dirt and oil it was pristine, except for the end panel that had popped right off the end of the battery. But no reasoning with the fool and I decide to leave and take their cheap defective battery with me. Bought four from this place around the same time, two have failed. But get this, the jerk clerk in the store ordered me not to exit the store out the back where my car was parked. No, the person who should never serve customers yells at me to take it out the front (where of course I will have to carry the heavy battery a lot farther - all around the building to t. Total asshole. I suppose he's the owners son and won't be fired the way he should be. Go to Costco, Pep Boys or anywhere else, but not here. This place sucks. I bought four full price expensive car batteries from these jerks, I bring back a defective product, and I get treated like some kind of thief trying to pull one over on them. Take your business elsewhere!!! Update: another one of their overpriced low quality defective batteries went bad. No use in taking it back. Place is run by assholes with zero customer service skills. Went to Pep boys, who gave me a discount on a replacement even though they didn't have to. Batteries Plus is a local store that specializes on batteries. It's informative and friendly staff of 3 or 4 people are on the job when you need a battery. Whether it be your AA or your hearing aid to car and laptop plus adapter, they have all kinds of batteries for all your needs. Add to it very inexpensive prices and you'll want to keep coming back for ANY battery you need. I have gone there twice for what I considered trivial, but cheap: a laptop charger since the first one blew up and a replacement ipod battery. Both at what would be impossible to find without looking online and spending few to a week days worth of wait to get it in the mail, Batteries Plus got it within seconds you come in. My charger cost 70 bucks when it usually goes for 120 to 150 and the ipod battery at a mere 32 bucks would cost an arm and a leg to find an install where they told me about a few youtube videos on how to install them. Heck even a battery for a doorbell at half price when it's 5 to 12 bucks at places like Safeway and Fry's. You just don't find that kind of service at any other store. The only thing you have to do now is spread the word of their awesomeness and if your a shut in, they ship out to within a couple of days. Give Batteries Plus a try. Placed an online order and received an email stating I would receive another email when it was ready for pickup. Never got the email, called the following week and found out the store had it in stock. When I placed the order online, there's an option for in-store installation, but the site does not mention there is an additional fee for this. Came in to pick up the car battery, found out there's a $20 fee to install the battery, and decided to pass. For some reason, I was ineligible to get a core refund for recycling my old car battery. Unfortunately, I thought installation was free, otherwise I would have brought my own tools. I did not have the socket and wrench to remove the car battery cables while in the parking lot, so I ended up driving off. It's a simple task to swap a car battery--it would've been nice to have been lent a socket and wrench to do the swap myself. read more

I went to this place in January to get my Iphones screen replaced and the first time it took roughly 6 hours and I had to drive back and forth 5 times each time they kept saying it'll be another hour. They also replaced my battery without my consent for some reason even though I had never experienced anything wrong with my battery. Fast forward to now I started experiencing technical difficulties with my Iphone and after Apple told me they wouldn't touch my product because of the third party battery I took it back to Batteries Plus Bulbs. At first I was completely fine with paying for a new screen and the only helpful technician there offered to have the labor be free and just pay for the new screen. They then recommended me to take it to someone else to diagnose it to make sure that it didn't have 'touch disease'. The person they recommended went above and beyond for me and identified that Batteries Plus Bulbs had actually ruined a very important component on my home button that was irreplaceable. He even went over to the store with me to explain exactly what was wrong because clearly if I knew this much about Iphones I would have just replaced the screen myself. Not only did they aggressively interrogate me on my story trying poke holes in it so they would not have to take responsibility, their manager Neil was completely awful to this super nice guy that was only trying to help. The Batteries Plus Bulbs employee who worked on my Iphone the first time, even outrageously insinuated that the person THEY RECOMMENDED was the last one to open the Iphone and therefore it was his fault. Their manager then went on to say that I still needed to pay for the labor for them to put the screen on. The manager tried to tell me that his employee said i would still need to pay for the labor and his employee even contradicted him saying that he told me I wouldn't have to. I not once asked for special treatment but the manager continued to act like I was trying to scam him for money. All I wanted was my screen fixed and it turned into a nightmare. Do not make the same mistake I did and look for a cheap alternative to get your phone fixed. Pay extra money to get it looked at by people that actually know what they are doing. read more
