I love this place so so much!!! It's walking distance from work, so it's the perfect work lunch with a non rushed feel. We always tell them we're in a hurry and they always seat us right away with fast service. The place is so big! And actually quite busy at lunch time, but service is always so good!! The pizza is SOOO GOOD!!! The crust is so perfectly thin!!! We got a large veggie pizza to split between 7 of us along w some salads and it was just such a perfect lunch. Went back again after the first time and my coworker got and loved the meatball sub! Can't wait to come back!

Ordered a medium pizza for take out. Seemed like it was not fresh pizza. Did not have enough pizza sauce. The crust of the pizza was hard to chew.

Hadn't been back for five years but one thing never changes and that's a good pizza! Bummer that I was flying solo on this trip to SJ or I'd have eaten a few more things here that I recall were good including the salads and pastas. I had the supreme pizza which comes with pepperoni, sausage, salami, mushrooms, olives, onions, and bell peppers. The crust and dough were done to crispy perfection. Got a small and it was more than enough. The prices are on point and the serving portions are adequate to fill you up. The service was good and the interior had an open kitchen where you can see them at work!

Always nice NYC style thin crust pizza. Crunchy extra thin crust tastes soooo good. However, can't go over 2 toppings or the middle of the pie is a bit soggy. No nonsense decor & typical Italian service. Friendly ... Spaghetti with clam is ok. Always one of my favorite pizza in the SF South Bay

My dad and I checked this place out while seeking a sit-in NY pizza spot. We tried the cheese slice, combination slice, and Sicilian. Crust for the NY style slices was crisp and slightly chewy, very good and transported us back to our NY trip. Toppings were standard...for combo though, they just tossed the vegetables on so when I picked up the slice, they fell everywhere. We also thought the sauce could be more tangy, but nothing about the pizza was bad. The Sicilian was crispy, light, and cheesy throughout (don't forget the lactase for this one people). Overall, affordable prices and HUGE servings.

I highly enjoyed the half and half pizza we ordered. My favorite part is the anchovies. So glad they have this topping :)

Giovanni's is a nice pizza restaurant located in the shopping plaza by Shell Gas station, Ming Tasty, and Saigon Seafood Harbor Restaurant. They have been serving authentic New York style pizza, Sicilian deep dish style, and other Italian dishes for decades. The restaurant is able to accommodate a large party or two. Also, it has many other tables for smaller groups for inside dining only. I've mostly had the NY pizza and maybe a pasta dish. Though, I keep gravitating to their pizza. Thin crispy edges, with a slight chew. But, with the savory saltiness of the cheese and tomato sauce. The more toppings you have on the pizza, the more it will be soggy. Just my opinion. Friendly, polite customer service from this family owned business! Overall, 3.5 stars.

We left the football game and looked for pizza. We found this amazing spot and the food was absolutely deeeeeliscious! We tried the lasagna, pizza, and chicken Alfredo. Nothing disappointing about this spot. I'm just sad I don't live closer to enjoy it more often. The staff was so welcoming and very helpful

The pizza here is super good. I love the authentic flavors they have with the Sicilian deep dish pizza. We got the fried calamari appetizer as well and it was crispy buttery and delicious. The waiters are also very kind! It's the same people running the place as when I first came years ago! I also like the ambiance. It gives a nice homey feel.

Hi! Is this a good place for a group of 15-18 to eat at for lunch on a work day, from the standpoint of tables and seating?

Yes, it's a pretty large space that can accommodate a large group for lunch during the day. I think they would move tables together. Great pizza!

The ricotta cheese helps with the balance and the green onion adds a tiny crunch plus helps cut the richness. its thick but just the right amount of chewey and crispy cheese sides. oh yeah DET Combo Americano (no Mushrooms): another great pie. SUper rich pie with just the perfect amount of everything. The roasted cherry tomatos added a nice sweet sour taste helping cut the richness and the stripes of sauce helped balance each piece. Same glorious crust as before Medium 12" Hawaiian Hit Man: OMG so good. The big twist is the smoked ham which well adds a nice smokiness to balance the sweetness of the pineapple. I've had Detroit Pizza before and I must say I'm a fan! Given they were just in San Jose, I never really got a chance to try them over the last couple of years. Until they opened this pop up cloud kitchen in Sunnyvale! We had a party at our place so we had quite a decent crowd and needed a lot of pizza. Given the crowd had a fair few vegetarians, we decided to stay fully vegetarian, and to get some variety - ordered two of the Detroit Pizza's - the Margherita and the Greek, and one of the Sicilian - the Veggie on Evelyn (not on their original San Jose menu I believe). Friendly person taking the order on the phone - helped out with suggestions! It took around 30-35 minutes and was ready when I arrived. The Detroit Pizza was a HUGE hit, especially the Margherita. People (including me) loved the Detroit style pizza - many knew about Chicago style deep dish but not the Detroit style. So they were pleasantly surprised. The excess sauce/cheese went along just great, and the fact that it was simple in terms of the number of toppings (Margherita) allowed us to enjoy its flavor profile more. The Greek was a little salty because of the feta cheese I personally felt but still good overall. Personally, I wasn't as high on the Sicilian as after having the Detroit style Pizza probably because it was loaded in terms of toppings (lots of veggies). But the group enjoyed that as well and I must say we almost finished up all the Pizza. I'm not sure if the Pizza is cooked in Sunnyvale or in San Jose. But I know for sure I'll be getting more slice of homage soon. I hope they can open up an actual restaurant closer to where I am! I would rate it 4.5, but reducing it to 4 because I didn't enjoy the Sicilian as much, and I felt maybe it was slightly overpriced.
