I am so glad to have come across another poké shop in the SGV! I got a medium bowl with white rice, salmon, tuna, crab meat, edamame, wakame, cilantro, and corn. For my sauces, I asked the girl to choose my sauces, and it was pretty good! It was the perfect balance of a sweet and spicy combination. I thought the bowl was fantastic! I loved how buttery and big the salmon cubes were. I also loved the chewy texture of the tuna. It tasted so fresh! I also loved how crunchy and fresh their corn and wakame tasted. They gave the perfect crunch to each bite! The white rice was super fluffy too. This place certainly does not skimp out on the portions! I got a considerable amount of my chosen proteins and toppings in my bowl. I will definitely be coming back here for a poké fix! read more

We drove out 30 mihere to support the business. The food was great; the experience while getting serviced the food was not unfortunately. The three young ladies working around 3:30pm on July 1st 2025 were not very welcoming. Our order was rushed and while there was no line. Before we finished paying, I said "thank you" and the young ladies did not reply back. I know it's something small, but it just did not feel welcoming enough to come back. :( read more

10/10 My all time favorite poke spot for many years now. Every time I've come in here, I've received the best hospitality and service. The whole team here is nothing but smiles and are super friendly. I got the large bowl with double scoop of spicy tuna and double scoop of spicy salmon. Huge portions! Made me lose my train of thought when ordering with how caught off guard I was. When I'm not feeling all that spicy I go for the marinated fish they have, it's very flavorful. They have a large selection of sauces but my go to is spicy mayo. Their topping selection recently increased. They added kimchi and sweet potato and a few others. The kimchi is good but I wasn't feeling adventurous enough to add sweet potato. Lastly, you end on more sauce and dry toppings, all which are a must! Super delicious. read more

I was looking for a poke bowl spot and this popped up. It was definitely the right choice for poke. I ordered their large bowl with 3 proteins, I choose the spicy tuna, salmon, and shrimp on a bed of salad and sweet dressing. Overall it was a phenomenal poke bowl. This poke place has some of the friendliest staff. We are always greeted and welcomed. The portions are perfect and a good value for what you get. They have your conventional fish choices like salmon, tuna, spicy tuna and condiments. Some unique items they had were sweet potato and Kimchi which enhances the flavors. Still meh. I have been coming into this place a total of 5 times in the past two months. The last 3 days we've come in here for lunch. The crab meat is quite dry and bland, though. Definitely not creamy like the other Poke places. Otherwise, the food is good. We especially like their purple sweet potato topping. So the first day we asked for extra scoops. We were told they were 25 cents each the first day. That sounded reasonable. Their scoops are the equivalent of 2 table spoons. Not very big. So 25 cents was reasonable, but the second day we came back (3/27/2023) they wanted to charge a whole $5 dollars for the same thing! Mind you, we had already ordered and paid for 2 whole poke bowls, plus extra salmon, extra spicy tuna, and drinks. So it wasn't like the only thing we were coming in was for some sweet potato. After I voiced concern for these price gouging costs, they then said ok we will do it for 25 cents per scoop. So today on 3/28/2023, we come in and order the same things again, and now they changed up again to wanting to charge $5 dollars for extra sweet potato. Here we go again. So I said that's price gouging customers. Then they said ok we will only charge you 50 cents per scoop. So again, I said that is not what we were charged yesterday, is the price going up day by day? Why are we getting told different prices? Do you any of you know what you're doing? 3 or 4 of them are behind the counter looking confused and unsure. None of them really wanted to deal with this. I asked which one of them is supposed to be the manager, and they looked at each other and then said the manager isn't there. I said that is strange that the prices change day by day, The girl serving me was trying to get every single to-go order in before coming back to me. I stood there at least 10 minutes, while my girlfriend was already being rung up. Poor thing was so confused and unsure. You could tell she definitely had not been trained and just thrown in there to sink or swim. Must have been her first job ever too. SMH. In any case, by this time, I was getting a little impatient and hangry. None of them really had it together and were just winging it. No problem, but they also gave off annoyed vibes. I guess I was just to accept the shapeshifting prices. By this time, some guy came from the back, who could barely speak English. He took to explaining these sweet potato prices, telling me they usually just give it to the customer as it is part of the toppings. So I kept asking what the actual price is for 2 or 3 extra scoops of sweet potato. He had trouble answering that question. I had to ask 4 times, as he was taking me all around the world and giving me information on everything but what the actual price was. I asked him if he was the manager. He hesitated....so I asked if he was the owner.....he hesitated, tried to go back to the sweet potato discussion, so I persisted in finding out what he was. I asked again if he was the owner, he hesitantly said yes. Seemed a bit unsure and I just relented. I had made up my mind that this would be the last time for the rest of the year at this place. He gave us two free non-alcoholic beers, as a gesture of goodwill. I don't think he really was the owner or a manager, as he was just as unsure as the 3 or 4 girls working there. But he did try his best and therefore this is a 2-star review and not a 1-star. However, I don't think I'll be back so soon, as the logistics and training are sorely lacking and when you're hungry and tired, you really don't have time and patience for untrained, confused, and unsure service workers. The tables were dirty, had to go to the bathroom and get tissue paper and use the bathroom soap and wet paper towels to clean our table off myself. I have come there a few weeks ago with about 4 or 5 of them standing behind the counter, with just me in there, and the tables dirty. They didn't know what to do with themselves, so some were on their phones for a few brief moments here and there, probably checking their Facebook/instagram/TikTok. Others chatted with others about whatever, just standing in that small space behind the counter. Seemed they were overstaffed and none of them really knew what to do. The issue here is the severely untrained staff, probably a high turnover here at this one. It's mostly high school/college kids whose first job is this working here, without much training. I think this place has declined in its customer service efficiency to a great extent. It's really annoying when you have to deal with confused, frazzled, unsure, and not properly trained service workers. Please do your employees and train them thoroughly so they don't have to be so unsure and confused. It's stressful for your employees and customers alike. And you're losing business. Surprised by the high reviews. I thought it was only okay. The base the offer here is bigger than most places, but that mainly translates to getting more rice or salad: the cheapest ingredients they offer. The protein scoops for the fish are as small (if not smaller) than any other poke place I've been to. The fish quality seemed fine and there's decent options in terms of toppings, but I've definitely seen more. Quality of the toppings wasn't the highest. Staff is nice and told someone who just wanted to order drinks without good that they should just go straight to the front of the line. Seating is limited and it's a fast casual spot so not many people eating indoors/wasn't super enticing to eat then and there. Not sure why a bunch of reviews are complaining about parking. It shares a parking lot with a grocery store and some other businesses, but there's always parking. I'll come back if I'm in the area, but won't go out of my way to come here. read more

Both of us got small (two fishes) bowls. It's decent size for this price. They have many toppings to choose from and you can get all (charge extra if you request more than a scoop). They offer kimchi, avocado, sweet potato... and no extra charge for these "special ones". The fishes are okay, not the best quality but fresh enough. Service was good. A favorite for many years, Bay Poke is my go-to whenever the occasion arose. Especially during the pandemic when their measures were welcomed and the convenience for takeaway was there. In addition, the quality of ingredients has stayed the course and been maintained well. Recent changes to the construction of the poke bowls have made eating here a bit less desirable. Change isn't always good for the sake of change. What worked well before doesn't isn't always have room for improvement. To whoever made the decision, the new eco-friendly bowls do not work well, and placing the rice aside from the mixed poke does not meld well with flavors and eating. The new bowls have no coating and the rice sticks excessively to the vessel. Although the price increases were understandable, now there is noticeably less rice given in the new bowls becomes an even bigger disappointment. *One-star subtraction applied because of your changes, but I continue to commend your friendly staff. read more

I came here the other day and was impressed with the portion size. I got the small w/ white rice, salmon, and spicy salmon. I chose my toppings and was on my merry way. I was debating whether to get small or medium and I was very glad to have picked the small size. Their small size is like other poke places' medium. You get a lot! I would guesstimate about 8-oz of fish for the small. Salmon was super fresh. The spicy salmon was too spicy for my taste, but definitely delicious. All the fish looked fresh to me when I was there. Long overdue review to this place. I first checked it out back in July of 2022 when I was trying to move from Costa Mesa to Pasadena for work. After having spent two weeks living in hotels while I tried closing a deal on a rented property, and having to eat at random fast food places, this place was such a breath of fresh air. The ingredients, from what I recall, were fresh, the portions were big and the prices were reasonable. The service was great too. I came back over a year later after a long hike at a nearby spot, and the place is just the same, if not better. The ingredients are just as fresh. The options for protein are diverse (there are cold, raw options or hot, cooked ones), the portion sizes are big, and even if you're low-carb/keto, there's the option of asking for either reduced rice portions, or for no rice whatsoever, and to have it replaced with greens. The service is fast and the options for toppings and sauces are as diverse as the rest of the menu. Truly one of the most top-tier poke bowls places in Pasadena. Yesterday my husband and I ordered two medium bowls, both with salmon and tuna. We both got sick after eating what little we did eat, even though we couldn't finish our bowls. The tuna tasted rancid, and was probably the biggest culprit in us getting food poisoning. The salmon was okay tasting, but I don't trust this place. The seaweed salad also tasted really sour, and the cucumbers tasted old and were limp. The way they even cut the protein and vegetables made no sense. The fish was in big sloppy chunks, and the cucumbers and onion were sliced extremely thin so each bite was off. We both had about five or six bites and then ended up throwing them both away. Maybe it's a California thing, but the food portioning is quite minimal compared to the other poke bowl places I've tried in the same county. The raw fish was served fresh, and the sauces were liberally served but the whole bowl, to me, was a size of an appetizer good for two people. Servers were very cheerful and nice, hence the three stars. You can't sit inside to eat, you have to eat your raw fish outside the 85 degree weather since we had this for lunch. Stopped by to pick up lunch here for the very first time. This plaza is very busy and I don't know if it's always busy. It was difficult to find parking during lunch time. It's located in the same plaza as Vons. I ordered for to go: a small bowl with white rice, salmon and albacore, spicy mayo sauce with a few toppings. It looks good. Once I got home and ate it, I don't think they put any spicy mayo sauce in there. Or if they did, it's such a small amount that I cannot taste it. Overall it was bland. Customer service was not the best either. It was my first time and when I asked questions, the gentleman didn't really answer me. I'm very surprised this place has a high rating.
